981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 31, 2023, 08:32:44 PM
That's right, I think Xavi said that because he only wanted to focus on the El Clasico pre-season match against Real Madrid and it was proven that Barcelona was able to embarrass Real Madrid with this quite a crushing defeat. The intensity of these two teams really knows no place and wherever they are as long as they are still on the same field, the pride of a team will be highly respected by them.

On the other hand, it is very clear that Real Madrid needs a striker with a mature finish and that is indeed the closest choice to Mbappe and I think there is no more time for Real Madrid. If they really want to beat every team in La Liga and win the title. But if Real Madrid persist in hoping for Vini's sometimes erratic performance, then they will lose the title again.

I'm not still sure about it but maybe Real Madrid didn't put full energy into this match and they were just using this El Clasico game against Barcelona to test some players and this team is still not in a good situation to be tested against Barcelona, that's why we can't say if Real Madrid had bad performance or not.
However, El Clasico is always an important game even if that's just a friendly match.

Elclasico match has never been friendly, that's what I understood in their last round, I didn't even bother to watch the second half because I was already emotional and angry seeing how Real Madrid players were playing like loose players that have not been training for decades. Camavinga was helpless to the point that common pass became a problem to achieve. No, common! Vinicious had  the chance for a Penalty that could have give them opportunity to equalize and perhaps that would give them energy to play better but wasn't fruitful.

This is not good for Real Madrid, with the way Barcelona was having fun of Real Madrid, there is going to be problem after pre-season, they will dominate Laliga if Madrid doesn't step up. I hope by then their official striker will be ready and available to help the team, they can't continue to play without main attackers because switching between Rodrigo, Vinicious and Bellingham wouldn't yield anything good for the team.
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 31, 2023, 08:00:38 PM
Pep Guardiola will never regret for his decision to release some players in this summer, because his plan always bring good result at the end of the tournament, which I know that the players that left will not affect the Manchester city performance in this season. I don't think the coach will disappoint his fans in this season because Erling Haaland and other strikers are still there to make things happen in this season like last season that made them to embraced UEFA champions league title and premier league title. Based on the way other teams are bringing in new players in this season showed that they will make this season tough for Manchester city, but I still have confidence that Pep Guardiola will still help the team to win the title.

Never say never, Real Madrid did the same thing last summer transfer window and what happen after, they played nonsense game without fruitful result, they flop in some good matches they should have converted to goals and points but it was as if they weren't there. Let me give you a scenario using how Manchester City were able to win the Champions league last season; they signed Haaland and De Bruyne prior to the last Champions League and they were so entangled together by performance and that improve scoring opportunities of Manchester City, Guardiola allowing some players to go because they are not attacker doesn't mean they wouldn't feel the pain, every player us the role they play in the squad, they will feel the heat at some point in future.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 31, 2023, 06:56:26 PM

SPL and Chinese league aren't comparable. Surely SPL is more attractive than Chinese league. The clubs of SPL also have more money than the clubs in China league.

The Chinese also spent a lot of money on the transfer, but they didn't manage to attract so much attention. I think Ronaldo is a very big influence at this point. Because he transferred to the Saudi Professional League, many footballers refer to him. If the Chinese League had made this kind of transfer at that time, they could have had a bigger impact.

Last year there was only Ronaldo in the Saudi Professional League. This season there are also star players like Benzema, Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximin, Roberto Firmino and Edouard Mendy. Let's see what kind of league awaits us.

I have to agree with Ronaldo effective move pave way for other players, they should be among top teams that bought all the available free and fully contracted players and it seems the oil money is still in excess because I don't quite understand Al-Hilal and all this money they are generously spending on players. Just today rumors that I read from a reliable source, (not Fabrizio Romano) that Al-Hilal has push two different offer for Osimhen to the team, that of $120m for a year and $140m for the second year, that's an amount that can change life forever but at the cost of his career because Osimhen is still very young.

Haven't look at how Saudi Arabia are having more numbers of old European team to the clubs. I still feel Messi got all the attention in MLS than what other players have did in Saudi Arabia, perhaps it's due to the fact that they are yet to score any goal but will they have the chance like that. Even Ronaldo has not score any goals in his last 3 matches, only Benzema has been doing fine in his team.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 31, 2023, 05:36:00 PM

I think Manchester United has to sell Maguire before the start of the league season because I don't see any of his performances in good condition. When I look at Manchester United's game against Dortmund, the performance was good but the defensive was not strong. He will continue to make many own goals for Manchester United if they keep him on the team. If Manchester United didn't do anything about it now, it would have an impact on the club's performance when the league started, and they would have to deal with a challenging season the next year.

Just today I saw a newly arrived player dare to scold an old player. Even the former captain of the team, I think it's appropriate that this should continue to be done as a reminder. But selling is probably the best solution. Ten Hag already has another player ready to replace him. Evans, Martinez, Varane might be better. Selling Maguire will not make them weak. Moreover, Man United has a lot of transfers quite well. That will make the defense also better.

There is no seniority in football and no players is ever bigger than the team, all players are open to critism between each other and the manager of course. Onana has every right to correct Maguire just the same way Maguire can correct or rant on Onana when he fuckup but insult and abuse is never welcome. If Erik don't include him, how will they know what they bought was worth the amount and letting go of De Gea, there is nothing absolutely wrong about it. What can we say about fans that knows nothing, never been in the field but would find opportunity to attack any players, lmao  Grin

Let's be honest, If Maguire live Manchester United, he is as good as gone, they even thankful that West Ham made an attempted with good offer; who in there right senses in Premier League will want to have Maguire in such a big amount, an increase in performance and seasonal goals is equivalents to high amount and for the past two seasons, Maguire has been robotic player in my opinion, they either reason with West Ham to increase the Bid a little and sell him or they accept his entertainment continuesly, it's up to them.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 31, 2023, 04:26:16 PM
Gambling is a game that has an addictive effect. Most people who have joined gambling sites will find it difficult to get out of the gambling circle. It doesn't matter how much you lose at gambling, as long as we still have money, we will continue to gamble

Can you share your first experience playing gambling? and who told you about gambling sites?

I myself know gambling sites from my own friends. I idly and try to deposit. Starting from playing with a little money, after a while I didn't know how much money I had spent playing gambling

The way we describe this addiction is scary and the repetition of similar thread make it more scary, we should understand that gambling is addictive in nature because of the money involved but there are people that are addicted affirmatively with cool money they make here as if it's Christmas day for them, they can spend the whole day staring at screen and picking games with lower lines but at the end of the day, money is always made without or with small little no loss and same goes the other way that gambling affect with addiction but it's not the way it's been discussed here every day, let's change the narrative so others can have interest!

Back to your question. It was all full of anxiety because my favorite team was playing and they were on the verge of losing that match; I was having two fear, the fear of my team losing the match and the fear of losing my bet consecutively, the emotions were all there but I love the former real Madrid how they turn things around in die minutes, been patient was worth it, the odds was 1.6 single ticket but the wager was much that was what contributed to my fear but the experience was great.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ADVICE]Boy Wins $46k from Sports Bet but Can't Tell Strict Religious Parents... on: July 30, 2023, 09:47:41 PM
Someone recently won $46,606 from making a correct prediction on one of the matches in the on-going 2023 FIFA Women World Cup competition from his wager of $10 on a sports betting website. The person is unemployed and within the ages of 20 - 23. He lives with his parents who are strict religious people that frown on gambling and other youthful vices. His parents are certainly not going to be happy that their son engages in gambling despite winning such huge amount of money. He doesn't want them to be upset with him. He says he's going to keep it a secret. I disagreed with him because despite having strict parents, they are going to be mad at him for a little while but I don't think they'll tell him to return the money. What do you guys think? Should he tell his parents or secretly invest the money while acting his regular self around the house?

This sound so good to be true, $10 is too small to win $46,606 amount, how did he amount odds in that manner because if my calculations are right, he need 4,000+ odds to actually win that amount, that's like $10 x 4660.6 odds to get that amount he won and I'm wondering if there is other options in female world cup that is capable of accumulating to this number of odds, not to say how he is going to explain to the parent how he won that amount, evidence is needed to convince even parent that add not religious believers.

If he provide evidence of winning to the parent and they rejected the money, the player should not force the parent into accepting the money but that will be a delusional thing to do, that's a huge amount of money to free off the house debts and pay a couple of bills. I believe he is an adult from the age you described, he should keep the money to himself and pay school fees and other important something money can do for him, this is 21st century.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 30, 2023, 09:15:49 PM
Yes I’m also of the opinion that Osimhen would have been the best man to fill in as centre forward for Manchester United but after considering the cost of acquiring Victor Osimhen and the possibility that Napoli might not be interested in selling, the club decided to opt for other alternatives for that position and decided on signing Hojlund as the player to lead their attack next season

I thought Osimhen deal outside Inter is unacceptable by Napoli president, he had an incredible contribution In Seria A which has been one of the best time of his career, it will be unwise decision to abandon the club when he has only achieve a little on that region, additional year in Seria A will be better before coming to any Premier League team, he will be more valuable and if they can build another tension in the upcoming Champions League, he will be double valuable than how much he is worth right now and the debate of him not surviving in Premier League will quench for good.

With the way Pre-season matches results are shown and displayed by teams, it is becoming unclear how some teams are going to perform this season, Manchester City couldn't beat minor team outside Premier League, I understand that they are friendly but the ending of this match is weird, my  confidence on Arsenal and Manchester City to repeat their position in the standing this season still stand though.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 30, 2023, 06:44:16 PM
I don't think Manchester United will let Maguire go for 20 million and complete the deal with West Ham. The price clause offered by West Ham is far below Manchester United's expectations, even though as we know Maguire is getting worse and no one wants him there anymore including Manchester United fans. Seeing these conditions I am quite concerned to see Maguire who is constantly under pressure, but there is nothing he can do other than leave because there is no place for him anymore at Manchester United. Manchester United want 35-40 million for any club interested in Maguire. If another club bids more than West Ham then Manchester United will not hesitate to sign a deal. He is 30 years old, old enough for him to be in the EPL and I think he will most likely go to the Arab League if one of the Arab clubs makes an offer, for his age most of them would choose to go there with the aim of increasing their finances. I'll still be waiting for an update on Maguire.

Letting Harry Maguire go for only 20 million is certainly a big loss for the club. But I also do not believe that there are any other better options to be honest. Because even if they get another offer for him, I don’t think any club is going to offer more than 24/25 million for him. And by not selling him, or stalling, they are probably going to run out of options. I think it will be better for Manchester United to let him go. At this 20 million and not paying him the salary that they are paying already is a win situation for Manchester United in my opinion.

It is probably true that if they get an offer from the Saudi league, they are certainly going to get more money. But is there going to be an offer from the Saudi league? At the moment they are trying to get popular players in the league. And I don’t think Harry Maguire fits the description to be honest.

As a club that has been in this business for many years and multiple decades, I believe they are in a good position to know that having a player among them has some stretch of risk, it is unavoidable and that is what Maguire's fate has shown them, they can't deny that Maguire is no longer useful to them because even Erik has to remove the captain band from him to another player as that signifies a good leadership and we have not seen anything significant from Maguire, they better let him go while the offer is still reasonable, Maguire is a public figure that every club knows his poor performance, they wouldn't bid more than this price.

Saudi Arabia pro leagues know what they are doing, some people think the Arabians like Al-Hilal and others are just throwing money to buy worthless European players but they know why they are bringing some to their clubs. There are players that have spent their entire life in Laliga and Premier League with good fame, going to Saudi Arabia may be another means to remain relevant but to the clubs, their presence here is for recognition and an increase in sales of shirts and tickets. Maguire is a player that is known for scoring own goals, I bet even the underdeveloped clubs wouldn't break the bank to have him among them.
989  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: apps for bitcoin security? on: July 27, 2023, 12:04:04 PM
can anyone suggest apps to install to have better security? all i know is antivirus and browser adblock.

Having your Bitcoin in your computer can expose your private keys to key loggers and malware, the antivirus may not even detect that you have such a virus on your computer, and you can lose all your Bitcoin with Adblock and antivirus on your device, it is not the best approach to secure your bitcoin from potential thefts.

There is no maximum security like having your Bitcoin offline from the internet and to that, you need to make use of a hardware wallet to manage your private keys, you only connect the device via Bluetooth or USB when you need to access them.
990  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For newbies and plebs who want to self-study to become "traders" on: July 27, 2023, 11:47:09 AM
My advice - BE CAREFUL

Investment and trading books, articles and videos are made by people who might not actually be winning traders. They make their money by writing "investment materials" and sell it to us, the plebs.

Plus "as traders", most of you will lose money and leave. Some of you might return and lose more money. Some might have learned their lesson the hard way and just HODL Bitcoin. The few who actually put in the most time, effort and who are well-capitalized might make it.

There is nothing I hate seeing like those thumbnails on Youtube videos, sometimes I think those guys that give predictions and guides about trading contribute to why newbies lost money into crypto because instead of them to be teaching the important aspect of trading, they will be busy saying things that will give them goosebumps and make their adrenaline grow over their head and when they rush and start trading without any basic knowledge and get burn, they start crying like babies.

There is another funny thing these trading guides traders do, they don't in reality trade any shit, they only hold coins and freak out the public with trade settings and hype; the Halving is on the way, just watch how they come back to hype people once again about trading guide and when they make their gain, they vamous and come back the next time there is another hype in the market.
991  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and others urge AI pause, citing 'risks to society' on: July 27, 2023, 10:49:37 AM
The government need to control the use or else it would be used to cause a lots of attacks thag would look real to humans eyes. People had started using it to clone other people's imagine which should be framed at. I have started seeing a lots of things we can use the chatgpt to do which would look extraordinary to people when they see the outcome. We may be enjoying it now but there a bad people that will not mind to use the dark side to cause harm and destroy personalities.

I share these concerns, but I don't yet see what real steps governments can take to bring the situation under control. Stopping the development of artificial intelligence is tantamount to trying to stop progress. There is no legal or other reason to enforce laws restricting the development of artificial intelligence, because there are no norms that can determine what level of development is acceptable.

When there is a rule that guides an environment, then we should expect a high level of abuse by people in that area, that is exactly what is surrounding AI use but Elon calling for a break is like using a switch pox to stop a creativity. AI is another level of niche that people are making money from and also helping people reduce their workload, I think embedding laws and policies will regulate and reduce the way it is been used, it will also improve and create room for development if that should happen instead calling for total scratch, that will kill a lot of dreams.

I don't know why Elon get to do a lot of calls recently, Being a leading company CEO and the world's richest is sealed oxygen, when expose to air, it will evaporate under high temperature, I believe very soon, there will come a new person that will attract lots of people to his system and amass wealth to take over, Bezoz, Bill gate have all tasted that wealth and where are they now, they have all calm because power is transient.

993  Economy / Economics / Re: The whales stirred. What should we expect? on: July 26, 2023, 10:14:21 PM
The whales stirred. What should we expect?

Judging by the information coming in, a lot of ancient "crypto whale" wallets that have not created any movement with Bitcoin, for many years, have recently "come to life". Recently, assets have started to be transferred from these wallets to the exchanges. The withdrawal to the exchanges, kind of hints that these amounts are being withdrawn to sell Bitcoin. Question to the esteemed public ! What is this ?
- the end of the short era of cryptocurrencies ? Owners are actively moving into fiat
- the end of the Bitcoin era ? Are they selling it to change cryptoasset for storage ? And what is this crypto asset?
- regulators have "gotten their way", cryptocurrency is losing support and interest ?
- your version ?

Could be that they know something that we don't know, you never can tell you know. If you have large chunk of BTC stored somewhere you invested some years back and have gained 6000x from when the price was around $4.3, they will always have Intels the public don't have because, look at again, why sell now instead of selling when the price was around $50k when they would have made more millions of dollars instead of selling them now and they could have also waited for the new coming bull run, it will so easy to exit the market without causing much drama, I still think they may no something we don't have at hand.

Looking at it from another angle. What if the owner of the coin has health issues and tried to use his investment for treatment, what if the person is giving up soon and want to have his money donated to charity, what if the person suddenly become broke and then sell to recover his normal life, these are the questions that prompted from your questions. Whatever the reasons of the owner are, I hope it favour bitcoin market.

Hello,

I met someone on internet who suggested that I invest in a crypto trading platform that I didn't know about. I did it step by step and made sure that it was possible to transfer the funds back to binance at any time. So I increased the volume and today customer service is asking me to pay 10% of my capital as a fee. What's more, they've told me that I can't pay this fee with the funds available on the platform, but that I have to pay it with funds from another portfolio. If I don't do this, I won't be able to recover my funds on this platform.

First rule of trading, don't invest in anything that has to do with trading platfrom be it crypto or non-crypto trading platforms because 99% of them are most often than not scammers that will just run away with your money, they are liars, con artist, pretenders and, there testimonies, reviews and ROI are all lies, they are fake and nothing more. It will cost you nothing but your time and capital to start learning how to trade, the next time you see anything similar like this, just run away from them.

Quote
The name of the platform is Hitcoin. Here is the message sent by customer service:

Hello, after the Global Banking Regulatory Commission audits your HITCOIN account, according to the standards of the Turkish Tax Authority, investors need to pay 10% tax to the market exchange and the Global Banking Regulatory Commission. Calculate the tax you need to pay based on your profit in the HITCOIN market, -----*10%=---- The tax you need to pay is $----

Pursuant to Rule 21(2) of the Treaty Rules of the Global Banking Regulatory Commission. For tax purposes, all secondary market investors must deposit taxable funds in the secondary market through an external wallet. Taxes cannot be deducted from the account, and you can withdraw all funds in the account after completing the tax payment

Do you think this is a scam or can I pay safely?

Thank you in advance for your help.

The scammers are daft and not even smart, but perhaps there are people that may fall for this kind of scams, the Global banking Regulatory commision will stood so low to audit your account as if you are investing millions of dollars into that company, that is the first red flag and the second red flag is the 10% they are asking, you are the one to pay the tax from your account and not from the company if at all they are even real, there responsibility is to make profit and charge for there service to begin with. I hope prior to my reply, you have not pay a dim to them, they are scammers even from the write up. Once you receieve such kind of message or mail that is so good to be true, just have it at the back of your mind that you are about to be scam.
995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Bull/Bear Market Which Do you Prefer? on: July 26, 2023, 05:36:17 PM
Almost everyone in the forum loves the bull market than the bear market though it has not scientifically proven but people love the bull market more than the bear market, and upon known this, there are some people who are interested in the bear market because they are using the bear to accumulate and store their wallets with enough bitcoins so I decided to know the opinion of the forum users. Among the two which of them do you prefer, is it the bull market or the Bear Market? And why?
Some are investing for the bull market  and once the bull market comes they offload the wallet. While.some are perpetual in the holding both in the bull and the bear. So where do you belong? Is the bull market is more important than the bear market? And if I may ask, which one is the best?

Anyone in his right sense will like the bull market because of the price increases of Bitcoin and because of the inflow of money that comes to the market, there used to be enough liquidity at that time to selling becomes easy without any effect on the price. Why will anyone even fall for the bear market because they want to have bitcoin at cheap prices except for traders that I know that like the bear market because of the money they make when they short the market and even that one is temperament, they do lose more than they anticipate to achieve in the market during trading i.e the future and margin traders in this case.

I never had the opportunity to buy bitcoin when it was around less than $100 but I'm happy to say that I'm ready for the bull run, my but hot when the price reacts to the news sometimes but its part of the process of been a holder, I love bull run because everyone who literally hold bitcoin will gain and will also get lots of attention from outsiders that indeed bitcoin is still alive and Microstrategy dream of holding will forever live on, more institutional investors will have more believe in bitcoin future again.
996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A neighbor next door on: July 26, 2023, 05:02:59 PM
If you are aware that your neighbor living next door is into drug dealing and he come seek your advice how to buy Bitcoin, will you teach him?

What comes straight to mind is embezzling the ill-gotten money, but is this even safe? My other neighbor knows I am into Bitcoin and he learned from me, I guess that's how this other neighbor knew, I told him to go meet the next neighbor but he said he is not ready to teach.

What will you do if something like this is happening around you? Why would a drug dealer want to learn Bitcoin if not for a safer haven for running the business?

My mind isn't settled as I keep thinking different things, what is on your mind readers?

First of all, I will never live near a neighbor that is into drug business, that's like risking my life with a person knowing fully they are into illegal stuff and decide the stay near them. What I will do if I have evidence, I will call the police, trust me bro, that's going to be the first thing I will do but if there is no any evidence, then that's like hearing rumors and decide to profile person, it will make me a bad person if I don't see something and then begin to believe what people say about someone, that's very bad to believe in rumors or street talk, I have to see to believe.

Now, when such kind of person approaches me to buy bitcoin, I will teach him how to buy as long as no evidence that money is illegal and by the way, he is using his account to buy bitcoin and not mine, I will teach him andbhow to buy but I wouldn't involved anything that has to do with me, if he is indeed a clean person, nobody will come hunting for his head but if it's illegal, they will come for him, I'm just like a regular person who direct a stranger where to buy something from the market.
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: July 25, 2023, 05:43:36 PM
Though I'm not entirely sure, I don't think that's how things work around there, casinos that are successful and have gained some name and fame have enough funds to both cover the security expenses and to pay their players, and they have their business models designed in a way that a player cannot technically win more than they can afford to pay them, and the maximum that they pay a player for the biggest win is not even close to 10% of their bankroll.

So the idea that a casino might go bankrupt only because a player wins big is not true unless it is a casino that has been started with a small bankroll with no proper business plans and everything, such a casino might go bankrupt if they allow their players to hit big jackpots and then not be able to pay up.
It will only happen to casinos that did not have large funds when launching their casino, and it will only be a short time before the casino can get their income. Before the casino was launched, the owner must have thought about everything carefully, including how much money they had to provide to cover all the costs that would appear in the following month, including if a lucky gambler won a lot of money. And if the casino is really serious about what it does, it's sure to pay out the gambler's winnings in no time. So it is unlikely that the casino will go bankrupt because the number of gamblers who can win a lot of money will also not be many, and on average many gamblers will lose their money in gambling.

That reminds me of one casino that run off with user's money after it failed to pay up the users because the bonus they gave was much, and they didn't expect to see many users turn up, and they just disappear. Running a casino is a big business that requires thousands and millions of money because when a reputation is created and users' trust is gained, they can deposit large amounts of money, and doing that means they want to wager them in return to win back something, in the process they could lose everything but there are some that can win the jackpot, I think Casinos sometimes even do promotional jackpots event just rake in money when in reality they don't have money to pay the players if the opposite happens.

These pre-game seasons are quite worthless when it comes to their meaningfulness for the real season. Of course you could say that Nunez scored a few goals, but against whom? Yesterday they played against Greuther Furth, a 2. Bundesliga team from Germany and they played 4-4. Now is that a good result for Liverpool and does it mean that Nunez is the right guy because he scored 2 goals in an 8 goals game against a 2. Bundesliga team? This is really meaningless in my opinion. The first real test will be against Chelsea when the new season starts.

The name "pre-season match" itself implies that it's premature to make definitive judgments. We all recognize that friendly matches are about playing amicably and entertaining the hosts. Had it been a Premier League game, the intensity, and competition would be on another level. Nunes' performance wasn't terrible, and Salah's assists confirmed his prowess as a skilled winger. I'm eagerly anticipating Nunes coming back even stronger when the full season kicks off; it'll be a thrilling sight to witness Gakpo in action once more.

The Chelsea team you're eagerly looking forward to might end up disappointing you when they face Liverpool at the beginning of the season. Based on their performance in the pre-season match, they don't seem to be different from Liverpool. Emotions are running mixed in the Chelsea camp, but it's too early to draw conclusions, we'll need to wait until at least five matches have been played to identify the strengths and weaknesses of most teams. However, I remain hopeful that Chelsea and Liverpool will secure an early spot in the top 4, similar to how Arsenal started last season and maintained their position until the end of the season.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 25, 2023, 05:06:40 PM
I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

Addictions can manifest in various forms, spanning from smoking and drinking to even compulsively checking one's phone early in the morning, as I've personally experienced with my urge to jump into Twitter right away. When it comes to gambling, there are two distinct approaches. Successful gamblers invest their time in analyzing and selecting data, continually repeating this process as they place their bets. For them, gambling has transformed into a hobby and a means to earn income, becoming an integral part of their lives without or with minor effects of health concerns.

For failed gamblers, they can go as far as staying up all night to bet, they will repeat the process in 24/7, borrow money to gamble without realizing any benefit, it can even make them have a negative impact on their health mental and physical and they could even end up with huge debts that will ruin their relationships with the outside people and the people surrounding them, this is how gambling addiction can affect our lives.
1000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: July 25, 2023, 04:35:35 PM
I have heard and read about people gambling because they had no source of income,  a job or they wanted to add gambling as part of their streams of income. Whatever your category the bottom line is that we all gamble to make money though some group claim it's mainly for fun. But who would want to be losing money all in the idea of catching fun!

There are gamblers that don't place their bet not until they have gotten a certain amount as their potential win. Some do this based on their financial challenge with the anticipation that just one win they may get on such amount is a life changer for them.

My main focus on this thread is in this question: as a gambler do you place your bet according to the weight of your financial need or you're always okay with whatever amount that comes out as potential win no matter how small amount?

Seems like a gambler that is trying to pass through a high level of financial difficulty, gambling to have a particular amount will lead to knowing where than consistent losses that will frustrate the living out of your miserable life and you will wonder if the gambling is for you to quit or to continue. I base my gambling base on any available event that I'm sure about and if I had the idea or not and then I place my bet based on how I feel the outcome will be, and how the performance maybe, you know betting doesn't require people to win, you can bet on them to lose.

Anytime I see people with plenty of events and games, I ask myself if they have the magic to turn things around because having multiple games combined, a single loss of a match can ruin an entire ticket which can be very painful, just imagine having 25 matches with a total of 200 odds and you have all of them as win or draw(X1) and then first 20 went as predicted and then the last one of the matches played to win but it was as X2, that ticket is done for real and you have just wasted 20 with maybe 150 odds good games that will give you something instead of been greedy for a large odd that will fetch you money that will never come.
