981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Gold, land which better? on: October 16, 2023, 02:55:51 PM
Putting it aside, I don't know why the OP brings land into the equation, unless it is so cheap that you can buy chunks of land for $50.

Op and I are from the same country. Since he mentioned land, you should understand his investment amount is more than ten grand. Because you cannot buy land with less than $5K in most areas of my country. No matter where the location is. But if you want to buy land in town sides, you need at least $100K to buy a little-sized land. His father lives in Malaysia and works there. Most of the people worked there for decades. So, I guess his investment fund is more than $10K. Which is why I asked him not to put more than 10% in Bitcoin. After all, it's his father's earned money. If anything goes bad, his father will blame him for rest of the life.

Hi again!

It's been a while since I posted in the Sportsbet thread. I was waiting for Sportsbet merch that I won but unfortunately, I live in a country where the progress takes ages. It's been 55 days since Sportsbet sent me the Southampton shirt and the scarf. I sent the necessary documents to the local DHL office to get them released but it took me 50+ days to get it. I am sorry to Sportsbet and jeremypwr because it's kinda of my fault because I live in such a corrupted country. Thanks to Sportsbet for the shirt and the scarf. The quality is awesome. I am pleased by the quality.

985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is different from other means of investment on: October 16, 2023, 10:57:32 AM
This has become a popular trend in my country; politicians target the businesses and properties of opposition. Maybe they all read 48 Laws of Power.
I guess it's not only in your country; most African and Asian countries have the same problem. The last party change in my country was over a decade ago, and if I remember correctly, a lot of on-going projects stopped, and a lot of people lost their business, their freedom, and many more. I know things will change once the party changes again.

I am viewing it from the aspect of investment, which is in line with the topic of discussion, and not base on needs.
I am not saying that Bitcoin is safe. Bitcoin is safe, but it's virtual and volatile enough. You have to keep it for the long term if you want a good return. You cannot sell it whenever you want if you need urgent money. If you sell, maybe you have to sell at a lose. So, invest in something that is stable, and you can sell anytime. Invest in Bitcoin too. But do not rely on Bitcoin only.
986  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy to reach 50 merit on: October 16, 2023, 09:52:05 AM
There are some people who aren't the first one to post a reply but the ones who are merited even though that person isn't the most knowledgeable or have more knowledge than the one who posted first because some experts may have explained some wrong ones and those people who corrected it will get merited from the one who made a mistake (the poster who post much faster).

I agree partially. But it does not always happen. Sometimes, they check and ignore because they don't want to admit their mistakes. Some people are arrogant, and their logic is the best for them. Anyway, seems like we are going off-topic. If English is someone's first language, they should not have a problem earning merits.

The problem is for non-English speakers. But they have some advantages too. They can participate in their local boards/threads and write their quality post and getting merits from local boards should be easier than global boards.
987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is different from other means of investment on: October 15, 2023, 01:10:09 PM
This was a property approved by previous administration but demolished by new government.
This is a whole political problem. Some parties and people in those parties do not like the success of their opposition. So, If you are a supporting party and your opposition party has more power than you, they will try to destroy you by destroying your house, your business, and everything.

This is a confirmation that Bitcoin is safer and better than many conventional investment portfolios. Anyone still doubting the freedom, comfort and peace that Bitcoin offers is probably yet to embrace reality.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. I won't say Bitcoin is safer than your land and houses. Of course, Bitcoin has some pros. But these physical things are primary needs. You have to build your home to live in. You have to buy land to firm. You can invest in Bitcoin, too. But do not go all in.
988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Gold, land which better? on: October 15, 2023, 01:00:57 PM
My parents thought that bitcoins that cannot be seen or touched cannot be an asset. They think that investing in physical assets such as gold, bank deposits, land etc. is more profitable than Bitcoin. But even after I convinced them, they are not ready to invest in Bitcoin. They don't want to believe in virtual currency.

Right now I want your important advice on how to convince them.

Your question is good, and I can relate to it because there are millions of Bangladeshi lives in Malaysia and other countries and they work there. Most of them send money to their family, and most of them invest in buying land and keep their savings in the bank. Some of them buy gold as well. I can give you some suggestions but it's up to you.

Look, the money is not yours even though you are the one who manages it. Your father earned it and let him decide where to invest. You have a good idea, and tell him about it. Do not invest large amounts in Bitcoin. if you have $10K to invest in something, go for other investments like gold, land and invest a small portion in Bitcoin too. If you have $10K, Do not invest more than $1K in Bitcoin. More precisely, do not invest that much money that you cannot afford to lose.
989  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangers of trading on: October 15, 2023, 12:53:43 PM
One of the primary risks is financial loss.
The volatile nature of financial markets means that everyone suffers loss.

This is the only loss in trading. Sometimes, you may damage your mental health due to your financial loss. But, financial loss is the only thing I see as a loss or gain. Many of us know about trading but how many know variations of trading? Some people learn about the future trading of cryptocurrencies, and they start trading binary after a few days.

I see binary trading as gambling. Sometimes I feel like it's worst then gambling because things get changed in 1 seconds and the return is too low compared to gambling.
990  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't Rush Whenever Posting: Cross Check and Edit before Hitting the post Button on: October 15, 2023, 12:15:26 PM
Mistake is inevitable, if there is no mistake there is no correction, that is, people make mistake and through the mistake, corrections are made. Most users submit their post without cross checking the write up. So in many times omissions occurred and some ungrammatical statement occurred and English speaking users see them as trash, shit post without correction. It is better you reread you work before posting to avoid mistake. Be a good poster. Avoid mistake. But mistake is inevitable. It most come but not always.

I make many mistakes when I write, and most of the time, I get help from some tools that help me improve my writing. The one tool I use is Grammarly. Grammarly always points out spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and many more things. It's helping me improve my writing skills. So, when I write without Grammarly, sometimes I write trash. It happens when I write from my mobile device. Your suggestion is good for others, for me too. But, since I am using a tool to improve my writing, I usually do not double-check what I have written. Because I believe the tool will find the mistake for me.
991  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy to reach 50 merit on: October 15, 2023, 12:07:40 PM
I saw many posters can earn merit by answering basic questions from newbies like how to get merit, how to quote, how to learn forum rules and what Bitcoin wallets to use. You don't need to be expert to answer those questions and earn merit. I see being an average person can be knowledgeable and helpful enough to make basic answers.

True. But you have to spend a lot of time here for this. Here is why: you don't know when a thread will be created. You have to keep exploring the forum so you can discover new threads and new questions. Sometimes, you will see that someone posted a correct answer, but they posted it late. If you post late, you are unlikely to get merits.

You have to be fast to respond. Or, if you are expert enough, you don't have to be quick. So, spending more and more time is they key to earning quick merits. Your login time will increase your experience.

Generally speaking, earning merits has been easier than ever. Looking at your post history, I see that you are active mainly in your local (Phillippines) board, which is seriously undermerited for quite some time and that probably gives you impression that getting merit is hard.

It's easier. But not for everyone. Especially for average people who usually interact in general conversation. Not for posters who exclusively write for their signature campaigns only. I have seen several members who did not earn at least ten merits in the last 120 days. They enrolled to the signature campaign a while ago and the campaign manager only focused on which section they posted. Look at the stake participants. Most of their merits were airdropped and they earned a very small number of merits in their entire forum life. They are like newbie shit posters. I think twice before sending merit to any newbie account because of the revolution of AI.

Oh dear, Thank you very much for your help.
I was able to install the latest version of Electrum as you can see in the picture below. I followed all the commands you have provided and I just copied and pasted them without even understanding what's happening. I created a thread a few days ago Here is why Bitcointalk is a reliable source!. Once again you guys proved why it is a reliable source. I doubt that if would open the same thread on different platforms, I don't think someone would constantly help and check back the replies that Bitcointalk users do. One last question, I am slowly moving to Linux and I face some difficulties understanding those things. Which section is most appropriate for looking for help?

996  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Don't be afraid of buying Bitcoin on: October 14, 2023, 02:35:11 AM
If you have read or listen to CZ's documentary about his bitcoin journey, you will understand that CZ actually risked all more than he could afford to lose. I mean he defiled the rule of investing what you are able to lose. He was actually called so many names by friends and relatives when the market went against him but the market eventually went his way and he made millions of dollars through bitcoin. Today, many people see him as an opportunist instead of seeing him as a great risk taker.
If you want a different result, stop doing conventional things. Do things out of the box and if it goes wrong, be ready to accept the consequences.

These are exceptional things and the ratio of success is not high. Yes, I heard that CZ first heard about Bitcoin at a Poker table and then he decided to sell his house to invest in Bitcoin. Which is why his mom still calls him a stupid kid. CZ found Bitcoin in its early days and he has learned these things. He read the whole whitepaper a couple of times to understand how Bitcoin works before he invests. How many of us read the whole whitepaper of Bitcoin?

He has Bitcoin to invest, but what have we got now? Surely we don't want to invest in anything that we do not understand well. There won't be 2nd bitcoin. Bitcoin is still here to invest, but we are not in the beginning. We know it will grow in the long run. But no one should invest an amount that they cannot afford to lose.
997  Economy / Gambling / Re: COINS.GAME | THE MOST REWARDING CRYPTO CASINO on: October 14, 2023, 02:16:40 AM
Unfortunate that you lost the winnings. Good luck with chasing the multiplier. It's fun although many of you are keeping the multiplier a secret.

Thank you very much! No worries because I know it's part of the game. It's all about win and lose.

In the future, we need to improve our emotions even more when we want to multiply our winnings.
I often experience losses when multiplying because I am too obsessed with getting more until I end up losing like the experience you described.
Usually, in the next match we can already understand well the strategy we will apply.
What match are we talking about exactly? I did not place any bets on sports. I was playing Crash game and I was hunting for my desired multiplier. Yeah, Sometimes we lose because we think we may get more lucky and win more. But, luck always does not prefer us. But as you know, gambling is fun and it's all about win and lose. You have learned things from your previous session.

I had tried to chase 500x but failed. When I stopped, after 3 more rounds, it hit 1000x  Cry How painful it is lol.

Edit- Again lol. Just given up and it hit 500x  Cry
This sucks bro. I had a similar experience. I was placing manual bets and somehow I missed one bet and that bet hit the max multiplier. It seems I won't be able to stay in the top five with my current multiplier. LOL.
998  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: October 14, 2023, 02:06:18 AM
A business requires too much dedication and effort to make it successful. I guess I have posted this in this thread before but I am saying it again. There a lot of rich kids whose dad has billions of dollars but their kids can't make a start-up. Even if they start, most of their start-up fails. The reason is they are not dedicated enough to their business. They want to run their business simply with their money. Only money cannot make everyone successful. The safer option here is Real estate as you need a few caretakers and monitor your business. The 2nd easiest is cryptocurrency even though it's volatile. If you are afraid of other currencies, go for Bitcoin. It will give you a good return in the long run.
All three of them take dedication and effort. If you are just going to leave your property in the hands of other people then you are taking a large risk, especially if you end up having no idea what is going on. The same thing applies to cryptocurrency as not updating yourself on the latest changes about the economy and the system may affect your investment. To put it simply each of the three requires different scales of effort and dedication depending on the risk an individual is willing to take in order to make it work and actually make a profit from it. Additionally, the three of them also have their own significant risks that we should know and consider before making a decision. At the end of the day, our decision relies on how much we are willing to risk as well as how dedicated we plan to be.

I understand your point. We were talking about which is easier compared to others and why we like one over others. Those are my personal opinions based on my work habits and how I like to work. Some people might like public functions which I don't like at all. Business is best for them. I always like to work alone as I always feel good working alone. If you talk about management, I love to observe things and tell my workers which ones they should improve.

When It comes to real estate, Once you develop the structure, all you need is to maintain your property which should not require a lot of work. I see this business as the easiest one compared to the one one. Crypto will be my 2nd choice as I spend a lot of time in front of my computer.
999  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 14, 2023, 01:57:53 AM
I am witnessing 2 families whose economy depends on the wife instead of the husband, one family is near my house and the other is my cousin's family. Both husbands are housewives and take care of the children, while the two wives are the economic breadwinners of the family.
Not in every family, the man will be the breadwinner, the one who earns and spends everything. And that doesn't mean we look down on men who take care of the housework for their families. What's more interesting is the two families I'm talking about, they are very happy families and have no quarrels like my family Cheesy. There is no discrimination between wives and husbands.

Most of the time when women make money for their family understand the importance of money. I am getting out of the topic, but I think I should speak about it. If a man has limited earnings and does not make enough money to live, he has to choose cheap things so he can live his life. Sometimes family members don't want to understand these things. Suppose, I make $1000 a month and my expenses are around 950-1000 per month as well. Now my wife asking for a vacation trip but I was unable to save money for the trip. Or let's say my kid demands a bike but I do not have enough money. Now, If I am unable to buy these things for them, sometimes family members blame us because it's our responsibility to take care of them and give them what they want. But, when a women makes money, she understand how hard it is to maintain the family needs with such tight budget.
1000  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Before and after bull run. on: October 13, 2023, 10:07:08 AM
The most important thing is not to invest that much money that may damage your health. Do not invest that much money that you cannot afford to lose. Usually bull run does not affect negatively. So, I am not sure why are you suggesting people keep in touch with friends who have invested in crypto. If someone invests the amount that they cannot afford to lose, they should not invest that much money. If you mean they invest in the bull run and then they lose their investment after the bull run, that's a good concern. But if you know your friends or relatives invested in crypto, you should ask them to take profit during the bull run.
