981  Economy / Economics / Re: Honda Now Accepts Bitcoin and Ethereum As Payment Methods on: October 03, 2023, 05:16:14 PM
With such an opportunity to spend btc to buy luxury cars-
*Will you be willing to spend your btc to buy car from Honda? Or any other automobile company that will follow the Honda's part?
I have used a Honda car and the product is one of the best. Honda products are strong and durable. This is a piece of great news coming from one of the leading automakers in the world. Although they are using a centralized payment system it is still good for Bitcoin awareness and adoption. I will be willing to spend bitcoin on a Honda car based on the terms and conditions of the intermediary FCF Pay. If they require a KYC document that I am not comfortable giving out, that will be the end of the deal.

Quote
*Which other automobile company would you want to also accept btc for payment?
Toyota is a popular car brand in my country and it suits our poor infrastructure and high cost of fuel. So I want them to be the next to accept bitcoin.

Quote
*Is this news big enough to trigger market uptrend in the coming weeks, months?
Honda is a respected global brand. So I will not underestimate the possibility that this move can change investor attention. But it will affect the market sentiment slightly and for a very short term.
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Ever Made Such Mistake Before, But Won still? on: October 03, 2023, 04:51:59 PM
So by this experience, I am moved to ask you guys if any one of you have ever made such a mistake, but it turned out in your favor? Please share with us.

Some mistakes can be fatal while others can turn out to be a blessing.  But it is better to avoid such mistakes because the consequences might not be pleasant. I have never made such a mistake before due to the fact that I always check the amount I imputed carefully before clicking. I have made such mistake when I bought more products than I budgeted. I was fortunate that the price increased and I sold my products and made a higher profit. But I would like to make this kind of mistake you made. This is a lucky mistake that brought good fortune. Congratulations.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you manage greed to place your bet on: October 03, 2023, 04:34:18 PM
For much long now I have never place bet with a higher amount but there was a bet i placed few days ago and i was tempted to increase my wager from what it should be before, Let say i often gamble with at least 200 Naira and maximum is 2,000 for a multiple bets But recently something came into me to start increasing my wager above my limits due to a game that was predicts to me it gives me all possibilities that I could cash out big time. This now made me to come here to asked how do you control your greed with your bet amount, do you go ahead placing the bet as your minds speaks or do only maintain to your limits whether it plays or not doesn't matter.
I don't know the reason why you trusted the game that was given to you. Why are you so certain that you are going to win? And I want to know if you have ever won with these predictions. Sometimes it is good to listen to your intuition or mind but it shouldn't be above what you can afford to lose. It is better to stick to our gambling plan and be content with your wins. Greed is one of the major causes of gambling addiction, therefore, there is a need to follow our gambling budget.

Quote
Again why do you regret after putting smaller amounts and it happens the games went as planned and starts blaming yourself for not increasing your bet amount, maybe by now you could have cashed out big time. How do you control this thought over your ends do you keep to your regulations of always placing bets with some limits or you place bet according to your mind and regrets after losing that amount for not following your limits?

Lets discuss wisely and if something related to this post please point it out.. Maybe would devote studying to study what has been written over there.
It is normal to regret when you would have won big if you staked a higher some but we have to note that you can also lose the game. It is better to be contended with what you win at any given time to avoid over-gambling. Having the consciousness that you can either lose or win in gambling will help you to forget about the past and keep moving.
984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging people from Bitcoin... on: October 03, 2023, 04:10:26 PM
I have noticed something about some people in this forum...

Why is it that everytime a newbie shows his or her interest in trading Bitcoin, some people will always try to discourage the newbie?  You see them saying things like “Bitcoin trading is not for newbies”
The forum members will always give you advice based on their experience or knowledge. It is up to the newbie to decide to take or reject the advice. I don't think anybody will stop you from making your own decision. That is why members will always tell you to do your own research before making your decision.

Quote
None of us here was born a professional trader, fact is that we all had to start from somewhere. We were all once a newbie, until we started learning and putting in thrk.
A newbie in the forum might not be a newcomer in the bitcoin space. Some newbies in the forum might already know about bitcoin trading. But when a newbie with no experience wants to engage in trading, there is need for members of the forum to warn him about the risk involved. Bitcoin trading shouldn't be the first stage for a newbie because it is very risky.

Quote
So when you see a newbie ask for advice on how to start up on their journey in Bitcoin trading, don't try to discourage them, rather give  the advice on how they can start, and also let them be aware of the risks and how to avoid it. If we must grow the community, then we have to learn to encourage everyone to get along, and not try to discourage them.

Bitcoin is for everyone, and no one should be left behind.
Thanks.
This is a forum and everyone has the right to give his view based on the questions. It is the responsibility of the original poster to choose the advice or comments he wants to accept or reject.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Educate yourself to be a frugal gambler on: October 02, 2023, 03:20:39 PM
Play for fun. If you are not playing for fun, you are doing it wrong. Gambling should be done to entertain yourself only, and always remember that gambling is not a sound financial investment. I have witnessed the horrors of people who blow their kids college funds and life savings on gambling at a Casino. Don't be one of these people. Have a daily or weekly gambling budget and learn which games you like and how to play them so that you can actually have much more fun playing them than just winging any game.
These are some of the important lessons every gambler should learn.  Some people see gambling as an alternative source of income making them invest their money in gambling. Anyone who used his savings or child education fund to gamble is an addict who needs help. Gambling should not have any negative effect on your finances because it is just for fun. Sometimes having a budget is not enough but the main issue is to follow or implement the plan. I have also observed that people usually spend more than their budget when they chase losses. When people take gambling as a source of income they put in more money, time, and other resources.
986  Economy / Economics / Re: Ideas without action: An overview of a successful entrepreneur and a dreamer. on: October 02, 2023, 01:57:19 PM
CONCLUSION
Alot of people today blame themselves for what they have failed to do some years ago. The idea you failed to develop year ago may be the success story of another person that turn him/her to a rich person. Life is just about risk. The risk that money in your account into your ideas without minding what people will say, put in all your possible best for the idea to become successful and become a successful entrepreneur rather than a dreamer.
Everything you have said OP is true. It seems you were speaking to me.  In some cases, it is not money that is hindering us from achieving our dreams but simple things like procrastination and fear of the unknown. We need to take risks because it is even riskier not to take risks. Ideas rule the world so if you have one execute it.  There is no shame in failure because you have just gained some experience. Many great inventors and successful business executives failed so many times but they kept trying. You might be mocked or laughed at but you are better than people that never tried.
987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 02, 2023, 01:19:12 PM
I hate regrets but it is painful to lose an opportunity that was presented to you. It becomes more painful if you have the money to invest and fail to do so. The price of Bitcoin has increased and it can make someone a millionaire depending on how much you invest. But it is also good that you have decided to adopt bitcoin. You can not change the future but you can maximize the present opportunity. Bitcoin is still in its early stages and still has the potential to keep growing in price and adoption.

It was also great that you have decided to spread bitcoin awareness in your locality.  But ensure you teach them that bitcoin is not a money doubling or a get-rich scheme. As you are already aware it took your friend one decade to become a millionaire from his bitcoin investment. They should also know about wallets and how to protect it. Teach them about privacy cybersecurity and the concept of not your keys, not your coin.

I can see that this is your first post, thank you for sharing, and enjoy the forum.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 02, 2023, 08:51:38 AM
I think, Roma coach need to work hard to maintain this strategy they use to defeated frosinone in their home 2-0 without allowed them to achieve a single goal from the match, which is the evidence that made people to believed that Roma coach is about to get it right in this season. If Roma can improve higher to maintain consistent winning in their remaining matches, I think they can end up in top 4 or 5, but it will be difficult for them to win the Italian league title because Inter and Napoli are standing like the two teams that will drag the title at the end. Based on what i experienced from their displayed to dominate through out the match, show that they will not out from European competition next season because their coach will do everything possible to make things work well in this season.
Those two goals from Romelu Lukaku and Lorenzo Pellegrini were priceless for the Roma team. This win is good for the players' morale and the job security of José Mourinho. The 5-4-1 formation adopted by Frosinone made them have a solid defense but Roma's attack was equal to the task. Lukaku proved to be an asset and this has shown critics including me that he is still productive. Displacing two defenders, the Belgian stroked a left-footed shot that rattled goalkeeper Turati. The club also defended well but Frosinone lost some good chances to get a goal. Roma have now moved to 12th position with 8 points.

Napoli seems to have put their house in order. The controversies surrounding Victor have been settled and the club looks united and solid. They have been scoring more goals recently. In their last two games, Napoli scored eight goals and conceded just one. Tomorrow's game against Real Madrid will be the focus of the Italian side.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino security - What changed since 2017 Las Vegas attack? on: October 01, 2023, 05:38:49 PM
Back then happened it was quite shocking to me, because I could not comprehend such senseless act of violence and even to this day, it is something which disturbs me.

I would like to use this thread to both remember the victims of this mindless tragedy and also to lay some questions onto the table for all of you who have visited casinos and resorts since 2017, specially in the USA.

Do you think security measures in Casinos and Resorts got tougher since this massacre took place?
Would be as easy as it was back in 2017 to bring dozens of weapons and ammo up to the 32nd floor of a resort nowadays?

If you were in charge of a casino, what would you do to curb the risk of something like this ever happening again?
This senseless killing was possible because of the gun policy of the United States. Handguns can be carried around without restrictions. From the news we get from the US, little has really changed. There is still a high rate of mass shootings in the US even soft zones like schools have been main targets in recent times. Most of these mass killers in the US invest a lot of time and financial recourse to carry out these wicked acts so they end up outsmarting the security systems of the country.

In my country, we hardly have mass shootings because guns are restricted to only law enforcement agencies. Big hotels like Mandalay Bay will have metal dictators that will limit the possibility of bringing such arms that make someone shoot close to a thousand bullets from a hotel room.
990  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just a quick one, about KYC. on: October 01, 2023, 05:04:45 PM
Doe's purchasing Bitcoin on a centralized exchange where you don't pass KYC (KYC is maybe not compulsory) have any threat (harm) on the Bitcoiner? Or can the Bitcoiner still be tracked or identified by the CEO through other means?
Government policies are ever-dynamic. In some cases, these laws must be immediately adopted or implemented by businesses.  An exchange operating a KYC-free crypto business can be forced to change this policy because they have been mandated to do that by a new law.  Also, customer's funds can be frozen until they provide the needed personal information. There are also cases where the government can seize exchange without notice and compel the client to produce some data before the release of their funds. It is always better to use decentralized exchange and if you must use centralized exchange, don't keep your funds with them.

With this situation, it is difficult for Chelsea to get full points when they meet Fulham, especially since Fulham will act as hosts. Although I hope Pochettino can bring the Blues to victory in this match, at least 3 points will relieve him of the pressure a little.
Chelsea don't have any reason not to win this game against Fulham. The club may be having problems with injury and suspensions but they still have extra players. They also have the advantage because they are not also playing in any European competition so the players have enough time to rest.  If he gets this three points today, Pochettino's job will be fairly safe.

Ten Hag was supposed to make an evaluation. Man United competed against Crystal Palace 2 times with the result being 1 win and 1 loss. They played without Rashford and Bruno during the Carabao Cup, but somehow they were able to play freely and their rhythm looked good. Meanwhile, in the Premier League match, Bruno and Rashford were again the main choices in the first team, even though they dominated the match but their rhythm looked monotonous. In my eyes, Man United performed better without Bruno and Rashford.
I didn't see anything wrong with the players that Teg Hag featured against Crystal Palace. The players played very well but they were unlucky not to get a goal. Crystal Palace defended well and they also had a good goalkeeper Johnstone. Rashford had one of his worst performances, but hopefully, the team will improve. Bruno's performance has been inconsistent and the team needs to have a creative player that can penetrate teams with a massive defensive strategy.
992  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 01, 2023, 11:44:41 AM
If you have plans to start a dream business that requires a capital of  $20,000 and you were able to make a savings of $15,000 which obviously isn't enough to start up the business, what would be your decision or advice?

1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

Would love to see your input or a better suggestion apart from the ones I pointed out above.

N/B
This is the typical situation a friend finds himself and we are just brainstorming in what best to do.
If your friend has been able to be patient and saved $15,000, why is he now rushing?  He is almost close to achieving his dream, let him be patient. If he is passionate about the business he wants to establish, let him focus on raising the money and avoid any form of distraction. There is no guarantee that if he invests in another business to raise funds faster, it will be successful. But if he wants to take some level of risk, he can buy Bitcoin, now that the price is somehow low, and hope that next year will be favorable.  He can make some profit from Bitcoin which will make his dream. But he needs to know that nothing is certain.
993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: October 01, 2023, 11:10:51 AM
But for me I think gambling is the one that done people more harm than bitcoins investment, because almost every day people gamble with different platforms but its few of people that invest in a day or weekly, I will like us to discuss these.
Comparing gambling and Bitcoin trading or investment is like equating buying gold and gambling. Nobody has ever lost investing in Bitcoin, people lose when they sell below the cost price because of mainly FUD. I said this because Bitcoin will always exceed its All-Time High (ATH)  if investors patiently wait. Gambling is a get-rich-quick scheme while Bitcoin is a long-term investment. Gambling has ruined so many lives due to addiction but anyone who is addicted to bitcoin investment will end up making a good profit.

Gambling is not a bad habit but when one uses funds that can be used to invest in a viable sector like bitcoin to gamble, such person needs to amend his gambling lifestyle. To answer your question,  Bitcoin has caused more good than harm while gambling disorder has caused so much problems in society.
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: September 30, 2023, 08:47:19 PM
The way I perceive it is that if a person who is not cheating or engaging in illegal gambling activities consistently wins, the casino is highly likely to ban that person, just as they did with Dana White.
It is only a casino with a low reputation that will do such. I don't see any reason why someone will be banned because he won consistently. The question is will such a person be restricted if he loses big? Winning big in a casino consistently is rare so the firm should investigate why the gambler is winning so much instead of banning him just like that. However, this can happen more in an offline or in-house casino where they know the better physically.

But I have heard cases where online casinos restrict or freeze the account of gamblers because they violated the terms of service but I have never heard of such action because of consistent wins. If such victims report the casino to the forum and it is proved that the gambler didn't violate any ruler the casino will lose its reputation and its representative will get some negative trust.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 30, 2023, 07:10:31 PM
Aston Villa defeated Brighton at home. I didn't expect them to win 6-1, at least not by that much. They closed the first half 3-0 ahead, but at the beginning of the second half brighton scored with Ansu Fati and just when I was about to say that brighton started to close the gap, they scored again 10 minutes later and the score was 4-1. The last 2 goals of the match came in the last minutes. Despite having more possession of the ball, Brighton struggled to find goals and there is a decline compared to last year. They need to recover as soon as possible.
Brighton is going through a hard time recently. They lost their last game against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and today they have been humiliated against Aston Villa. Their next game is against Marseille in the Europa League group stage. Brighton Manager, Roberto De Zerbi needs to step his game if he wants to lead the club to greater heights.

Liverpool with 9 players is defending really good and they even had a shot on target so maybe im crazy but if a good counter attack is made they can score. But i really hope that Tottenham scores soon because i really need them badly to win this match. Who knows how much additional time we will see aswell.
The pressure on the Liverpool defense became too much that Matip scored an own goal almost close to the end the the extra time. Liverpool deserve accolade but this is a big win for Tottenham and a massive three points. This loss is Liverpool's first defeat this season. This means only Tottenham and Arsenal are unbeaten this season after the loss to Manchester City.
996  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: September 30, 2023, 06:29:31 PM
How do you think these developed nations will fill vacancies in their nations and get cheap labor if the population of these developing nations is reduced?
What is happening in those developed nations is that the native populations of the countries are decreasing, while they are importing labor force from foreigner countries, especially from third world countries from Asia and Africa. The Europe like we have known along the centuries and decades doesn't exist anymore. Nowadays globalization and miscegenation have taken place with total strength and it seems the whole world will be prettt default, without any different characteristics among the people from different regions, countries and continents. If it's good or bad will depend on the point of view of each of us. The question is if such changes are functional or disfunctional for the respective societies where changes are taking place.

This is the beauty of having a steady growth of population, the government is able to send people abroad to work without worrying about the shortage of manpower.  The country is able to make a profit from these laborers through taxes.

The population needs to be literate in order to see them as a potential help. So country with a booming population should not neglect the literacy of its constituents.
The main problem in this developing nation is not education because many of them are educated. In fact, most of the people that are migrating to Europe and America are professionals. Many of them are health and IT professionals. One of the reasons why people are migrating is because of a lack of employment opportunities. Others are due to security issues and natural disasters. I have spoken to some of my countrymen who left for some developed nations and they informed me that life is not easy in these countries. Some professionals who leave our shores have to work as laborers to survive because they can't find good jobs. If the government creates better employment opportunities and improves the security of the country many people will prefer to remain in their homeland.
997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Has Bitcoin Changed My Life? on: September 30, 2023, 05:51:06 PM
I guess you already knew about Bitcointalk for a long time and decided to register an account just this month.Hope it's not what I'm thinking though. Roll Eyes

I came to this forum around 2020 but never opened an account. Just read some valuable posts related to Bitcoin. Later I opened an account on this forum this month itself.
Congratulations on your achievement and welcome to the forum. Reading stories of how Bitcoin has impacted positively on the life of individuals give me great joy. It also serves as a source of confidence for newbies to keep believing in Bitcoin even in the face of fear and uncertainty.  I am also pleased that you have the zeal to learn about Bitcoin in this forum. It also amazes me that you have been visiting the forum for the past three years and failed to open an account. Why the sudden change of mind after these years? Nevertheless, I wish you all the best as we learn and contribute to this community.
998  Other / Meta / Re: Do discussions always have to be serious? on: September 28, 2023, 09:27:41 AM
I have had several posts deleted or reported because (maybe) they were considered off topic even though my intention was to be a little funny or joking so that the discussion was not stiff and not too serious. Do you think discussions should always be that serious?

Come on buddy... sometimes we need a little humor to face difficult realities  Grin
I read almost all of your replies and was just laughing. Your response was a combination of business and pleasure. Adding jokes to serious responses makes reading and learning pleasurable. I have seen world leaders laugh while deliberating on important global issues. As much as we agree that this forum is for serious discussions but it will also be nice to have members like @PytagoraZ to make us laugh even in the face of bitcoin and other discussion.

Having many posts deleted is not a good statistic for your reputation. I want to suggest that you pay more attention to your post to avoid these deletions.
999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin recognized as digital currency in Shanghai on: September 28, 2023, 08:45:18 AM
This announcement builds upon a previous decision by a Shanghai court in May 2022 that also acknowledged Bitcoin’s legitimacy. At that time, a legal expert argued that China’s laws could indeed protect cryptocurrency holders despite the trading ban.[/i]

Read in full https://watcher.guru/news/bitcoin-recognized-as-a-digital-currency-in-shanghai
I am viewing this news from two perspectives.  One,  it is possible that the Chinese government is gradually changing the unfriendly perception about bitcoin so they are using court judgments to prepare the path for the policy change. Secondly, these judgments are merely for academic exercise, nothing will come out of them. The Chinese judiciary are not independent,  in fact they are just rubber stamp to the communist party.

What gives me joy about this news is that if China is able to adopt Bitcoin as a means of transaction as investment currency, that will further strengthen the power of the currency across the globe taking into consideration, the influence and population of the country, China.
Just like the US market, the Chinese financial market is a major player in the global economy. Bitcoin will get a big push if China changes its negative perception and policies. And the acceptance of Bitcoin by China will make other countries also become friendly to the currency.

Chelsea's victory, their first since the end of August, has been a long time coming for The Blues. The Carabao Cup may not hold the same prestige as the Premier League, and unfortunately, Chelsea paid a price for this win with Ben Chilwell's injury. Ben Chilwell's hamstring injury has been confirmed, adding to Chelsea's list of injured players.

This victory could serve as a turning point for Chelsea to achieve more wins, with the most hopeful outcome being an improvement in their performance in the Premier League.
Chelsea's performance was not encouraging but the win is more important. Brighton is a strong side but one would have expected the Chelsea team to have a free day with the amount they have spent compared with their opponent. Nicolas Jackson scored an important goal and ended his four-game goal drought. His second goal was ruled out for offside but I don't think it was. VAR would have confirmed that it was not offside but sadly the technology will be used in the Carabao Cup from the semi-finals. This win has reduced some pressure on Mauricio Pochettino and players. I saw smiles on their faces and the fans at least had something to celebrate after suffering from several disappointments.  I just hope this win will serve as a turning point in the performance of Chelsea
