981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether minted more USDT. on: January 06, 2024, 11:51:51 AM
Nobody cares anymore. I used to be obsessed with tether printing too but now it wouldn't surprise me if they doubled the total tether marketcap in a day. If the authorities are OK with this, why should I care?  BTC still has limited supply no matter what they do. It is the problem for the US if bitfinex is printing counterfeit USD. The FED is doing it all the time, maybe they are using bfinex unofficially to print USD so we won't accuse the FED for printing USD... Finex takes all the blame when USD&USDT goes down to zero. Daym criminals killed USD!!! Quick! Hang Bin Laden.
you should care if you have USDT in your wallet. i mean everyone should care about that who have USDT in their wallet. because if they do that without adding more US dollars to their reserves don't be transparent about that. the USDT can loose it's peg to US dollar. and it'll be a disastrous for not only everyone having Tether. but for entire crypto market.
don't you remember what happened with USTC depegged? if USDT get de pagged it would cause a much bigger effect than USTC.
982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Doge worth investing? on: January 06, 2024, 11:44:24 AM
I am still holding my Doge not much only 5000 but am doing so in the hope it can reach £1 in the bull run.

This would give Doge a market cap of £142b - is that realistic?
to be honest it doesn't sound realistic to me at all. 142B is more than combine market cap of Solana, BNB and XRP at current market value. dogecoin is currently trading at 0.08.
I am afraid it would reach to $1 in this bull run.. you might have to hold them for very long time if you wish to sell them at $1. but that will be a huge profit for you. so I think the wait is worth it.
983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Your Exchange to Wallet Ratio? on: January 06, 2024, 11:16:33 AM
Does anybody leave a percentage of their BTC on the exchanges, or do you guys store all your BTC in your wallets, etc?
It totally depends on the situation and requirements. if I have the intention and plans of using Bitcoins in trading or P2P selling. I'll keep them in exchange. if I have intention of storing(hodling) them for long term then I'll transfer them to a safe none custodial wallet.
I also leave my coins in exhange if I had no long term plan of hoding. for example I don't want to trade them instantly but I want to sell them next month or after 2, 3 month then I keep them in exchange too.
I only use Wallet for long term holding.

So... People are still burning BTC, that's nice
Or was it a $1 150 455 mistake? Cheesy

Quote from: satoshi
“Lost coins only make everyone else’s coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone.”
It is most likely a mistake. I don't think anyone would deliberately burn that much Bitcoin. (normal persons wouldn't burn any amount) now question is how could someone does such a huge mistake.

I feel like this is a wallet error for whatever he uses. Just like on past issue on ETH wallets or smart contracts (forgot what wallet it is) that automatically sends ETH to burn address if the user forgot to put a wallet address on the address box.
Because there's no one in his right mind to send such amount, it's not even a donation for a charity cause but just dump his money forever. Lol.
Bitcoin wallets don't run on smart contracts like ethereum. so I don't think it can be a wallet error.
I can think of some kind of clip board maleware. where you copy your address but it'll change to another one when you paste it. hackers use this method to steal people money.

986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your altcoin holding with low value on: January 05, 2024, 08:53:06 AM
low value, meaning it is already listed on an exchange and has a very low price. I sell it more often because most of the altcoin prices obtained from bounties or airdrops will decrease over time. However if the altcoin obtained has not been registered on the exchange, there is no other choice but to hold.
I think OP was talking about ElonCoin of which's signature campaign he's participating. he was asking about that.
I too agree with you that these bounty and airdrop tokens are not worth to be hold for long term. but if they are not listed in any exchanges then there is not any choice.
as soon as they get listed sell them and take your money out.
but there was some bounty and airdrop coins which gained a lot of value after exchange listing because those projects were really good. u can consider that factor too.
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 10 Gainers Among Token on: January 05, 2024, 08:44:25 AM

Top 10 Gainers Among Tokens Last 24 Hours - 4th Jan, 2024
Excluded tokens with trading volume 24h < $10M

1. Kryptonite - The Essential Engine for Liquid Staking, Leverage & Lending on Sei.

2. Hivemapper - Hivemapper is a Solana based decentralized mapping network.

3. Legends of Elumia - Legends of Elumia is a Play to Earn, NFT based Massively Multiplayer Online game on PC and mobile.

4. Beam - Beam is a sovereign network focused on gaming brought to you by the Merit Circle DAO.

5. Moonriver - Moonriver is a community-led sister parachain to Moonbeam that will launch on the Kusama network.

6. Myro - Myro is a viral narrative based on Solana Co-Founder Raj Gokal’s pet dog.

7. Celestia - The first modular blockchain network for anyone to easily launch their own blockchain.

8. NKN - NKN is a new type of P2P protocol for network connectivity and ecosystems, based on a public blockchain.

9. SSV Network - SSV Network is a getaway to non-custodial, open source Eth2 Staking.

10. Maverick Protocol - Maverick AMM helps its users maximize capital efficiency by automating the concentration of liquidity as price moves.

All the information comes from Cryptorank.io . When you view this picture, the prices may have changed, so please make sure to check the current prices before clicking on the BUY button.
Among these Tokens I am very bullish at Myro and Beam. I think they are good projects and can give good returns.
Legend of Elumia is also a good token for now. but don't take that for long term because those gaming utility tokens are not reliable in most cases. so it is always better to trade gaming tokens for short term only.
I heard a lot about Calestia. I think it is the most famous and oldest project among these. others are relatively new in market.
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs in the Real World on: January 05, 2024, 08:24:20 AM
Now in same way NFTs are associated with a scam, ironically also by the same people (altcoin holders) that were defending crypto use cases to people who were associating cryptocurrencies as a concept with a scam.
I remember that ico projects used to be called scams. now the trend changed when nft appeared, I am not surprised to see this phenomenon.
in fact that perspective already existed in the past
At this point I believe we call every new thing scam at first. it is like human nature to not accept new things new invention so easily. but will end up using and adopting that eventually.
it happened with everything in Crypto. first with bitcoin. then ICOs and then NFTs. everything was once called Scams. (Most of the ICOs were actually scams tho)

Besides arts and gaming usage, I don't see too much utility for NFTs. Actually, even for arts it's worthless in my opinion. The only real usage for NFTs would be inside gaming industry. The concept of its implementation really made sense for me and I thought it was a great idea in theory, but in practice it didn't work as expected.
NO,That's not really true because i found something that they can bring real world item with NFT.
Check this out. https://pudgypenguins.com/
this is a toy for children, when you buy a toy you will get a pair of ntf.
there is a QR code on the toy which connect to NFT in pudgyworld
this is just a way to promote that toy brand. those NFTS still don't have any real world use. I don't think this is the right way to give NFTs a real-life utility. you need to find something else man.
My point is not about how to change people mind about NFTs. To be honest i never buy any NFTs so i don't have bad memory about NFT.
Btw i don't get what you think even i'm confused about what you expect. NFT is always on the internet man even most cryptocurrency right now doesn't a real-life utillity
That is exactly my point bro. NFT have no real world use as of now. they are just promoting their toy brand. nothing else.
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find new meme coins early? on: January 04, 2024, 06:22:11 PM
Twitter and telegram is really a good source of new memes on crypto but its too hard to trust memes this days be very careful theres a lot of honeypot memes on crypto If you are a meme hunter then you what it means. I find new memes on SOLANA chains almost every hour but too risky to buy them incase you cant sell or devs dump on your face. I just continue to accumulate well known memes like shib and bonk rather than buy new ones and crash later.
I also often encounter this. but they don't buy in large quantities, maybe less than $5. They hope that the price of the meme coin they bought will rise drastically because currently the meme coin on the Solana network is hype. It doesn't matter because it's their right, they are the same as playing gambling because the chance of losing money is much greater than the chance of winning  Grin
I think gambling is riskier than investing in memecoin. investiing in memecoin is also very risky. but still chances of earning profit are higher.. specially nowadays when memecoins are in so hype. every new memecoin is rising by multiple x. so finding early memecoins and investing small amount in them can be a very profitable way of earning some money.
but it has its own risks so every memecoin hunter or everyone who want to become a memecoin hunter should always consider these factors before buying .

NFTs have taken the digital world by storm. How do you envision non-fungible tokens impacting industries beyond art and gaming? Share your wildest NFT use-case scenarios!

I still don’t see any real and widespread use of NFTs. Sometimes I look at statistics
https://www.cryptoslam.io/
And the NFT collections in this list are constantly updated, but a lot of NFT tokens become useless garbage and pain for beginners who bought them very expensive.
The previously popular Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks now have low liquidity. The influx of new hamsters has dried up and sales statistics are low.
Yeah, it is very sad for those newbie NFT buyers who bought these NFTS in hope of earning big cash. but end up loosing all their investment. while the NFT creaters made $millions of dollars worth of money selling those useless Gifs to people.
but what is more sad is that there are still a lot of people willing to buy these type of NFTs which have no utility. and will probaly become worthless again.
991  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinMarketCap CMC listing problem on: January 04, 2024, 06:07:20 PM
I had no idea that CMC now requires fees for a coin or token to be listed on their website. How times hnave changed. Are you sure the right channels or proceedures of listing were used?

Did your friend read through the requirements. Maybe he missed out on something?
1. https://support.coinmarketcap.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043659351-Listings-Criteria
2. https://support.coinmarketcap.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043534192-Exchange-Listings

there is difference between listing a Token or coin and an Exchange. also, the links you sure are not accurate anymore.
here is the correct link : https://support.coinmarketcap.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043659351-Listings-Criteria
still there is not any details about any kind of payments. I think OP's friend fell inot a scammers trap who DM everyone and offer them listing services for cheap rates.
OP! Best thing your friend can do is to directly reach out to CMC customer support and ask for help/assistance there. I don't think anyone from Bitcointalk can help you.
992  Economy / Economics / Re: How is it possible to say there is no money in the bank on: January 04, 2024, 05:47:01 PM
In this recent economy we have witnessed some hardships financially and many other aspects now coming to say there is no money in the bank how possible is that can you imagine saying the river has no water? We are in the new year now huge sum of money have been signed by the government for projects but in a very short time they suddenly come out to say the country is running out of funds the country needs to borrow money from other countries the money signed in your own country where are they what is the duty of the bank in your country imagine a bank giving you the maximum amount you as a the account owner can withdraw from your own account sometimes I just feel like the bank isn't a safe place any more.
It is good that you finally realize that. Banks have never been safe. they take your money in the form of real cash. and add a digit in your account and tell you that it is your balance. but in actual that is nothing but just a digit. meanwhile, they use your cash anywhere they want. whatever they want. without your consent and without giving you any update.
and then when you go back and ask them for your own money you gave them. they start making many excuses and try their best to sop you from taking your money back.. then when you keep asking . they'll give you someone else's money while your own money is being used somewhere making more money for them.

993  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is Bitcoin mining a profitable business? on: January 04, 2024, 05:32:48 PM
Introduction
In the ever-busy world of business, profits and losses are key components experienced by those in it. However, from a very tender age until this minute, I have not come across anyone who chooses to make losses. Certainly, everyone loves to make profits through any means possible.

In a case where I happen to be the only one that sells a particular brand within a region or state, it is expected of me to make profits. But if there are other competitors that sell the same brand as me within the same region, the tendency of making profits is likely not to happen due to the competition.

I tried to apply a similar scenario to Bitcoin mining. We all know that several miners around the world compete to solve a difficult mathematical problem, which aids the creation of a block. After the successful creation of a block, the miner is rewarded with some Bitcoin. Sadly, I can't tell the exact number of miners globally, but I think their population is enough to make the reward process very tough.

Questions
1. With the large population of miners around the world, could every miner earn a reward at least once a month?
2. If it's impossible for every miner to earn at least once a month, does that mean that mining is not a profitable business?

Note: I am asking these questions based on a miner's perspective, considering the cost of power supply consumed and the fixing/replacement of faulty mining machines.
I am not a miner. and my opinions are not as good as any mining expert. but I can tell you one simple thing which is true for every business. if something is not profitable there wouldn't be people doing that. so if Mining was not profitable then there wouldn't be that many miners all over the world mining.
now coming to your questions:
1: Yes. Every Miners earn some rewards at some points. it is very difficult and time-consuming. but they eventually get their share of the rewards. (it is different for solo and pool miners) one thing you must know is that Miners don't only earn from mining new blocks. their most of their earning come from transaction fees.
according to Binance News: In 2023 Miners earned $2 Million Daily only in Transaction fees. https://www.binance.com/en/feed/post/2023-12-25-bitcoin-miners-collect-daily-average-of-2-million-in-transaction-fee-revenue-in-2023-1853616466441
2: Mining is a profitable business . if done properly.

994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One more filed smear campaign against Bitcoin on: January 04, 2024, 05:25:10 PM
Haven't we learnt from the past? We are still doing panic selling which was witnessed as there were fuds created by some influencers about possible rejection of spot ETF and once this spread across we saw how people were on selling mode which literally brought down the value of Bitcoin to $40750. But this was a tight slap on face of those who tried bringing down Bitcoin as it survived this attempt as well and rising again.

When I as we I meant those who have panic sold their holding and it's sad people don't understand that just one event like spot ETF approval cannot define Bitcoin's future and people should stop believing in these smear campaigns because no one can predict much about crypto or Bitcoin.
it is called market manipulation. that's how big whales manipulate crypto market and influencer smaller bitcoin holders and traders, trap them into their panic trap and when they get trapped. start panicking and selling these big whales buy those bitcoins at cheaper rates.
Imagine how those people are feeling now who fell into this trap and sold their bitcoins. it is very sad but there is nothing can be done.
While ETF is still not approved. I am sure no matter what the result of ETF be. there won't be any effect on Bitcoin. panicking and selling your previous bitcoin at low rate is a stupid thing.

996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Power Of Bitcoin on: January 04, 2024, 10:50:20 AM
We cannot completely say Bulgaria owns the largest BTC. However Bulgaria is one of the countries along India, China, USA, Nigeria etc. who has a good number of its citizens owns BTC.
mate. citizens of a country owning bitcoin is different than the country owning Bitcoin. by meaning of Bulgaria owns the largest amount of Bitcoin OP probably meant owning Bitcoin on Govt level.. that could only be a way Bulgaria can own largest amount of bitcoin compared to other.
Otherwise if we compare people of each country owns bitcoin then Bulgaria wouldn't be in top 10 oe ven top 50.
there are so many people own bitcoin in countries larger in popoulation then bulgaria.

Or my smjta hun is pump dump my barra hath exchanges kaa hi hota hai wohi liquidation ky liye ye barra drama karty hen or logon kaa nuqsan kar ky khud kaa faida karty hen.

Mera bei ye khial ha.. saare log belkul neder the k kisi bei waqt unko ETF approval ke good news melega. Logo ne apna stable coin ko Ethereum, btc aur mukhtakif coins ma convert kia. future walo ne long ko on kia aur en ese time ma exchange ko mauqa mela k ab en ko liquidate karo, ab paisa kamane ka acha waqt aaya ha. Spot trading sab se best ha. agar price dump bei kar jae tho per bei chances hothe ha k opar jae market aur apka coin dobara usi halat par ae. Future ma ek bar liquidate huwe tho per kuch na raha chahe us k bad market kaisa hee acha rahe.
998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a new trend of Altcoin Bull run? on: January 04, 2024, 07:29:38 AM
Actually the reason for this is, since Bitcoin of he first crypto coin, not all altcoins can be bought directly. For you to buy them, you first need to buy bitcoin and then swap to those altcoins. And before you can sell them, you still need to swap to bitcoin before you can sell. So its more like Bitcoin is the intermediary of those coin. So when the price of Bitcoin increase they also increase and when Bitcoin decrease they decrease, any trend Bitcoin takes they follow. However from my point of view of things, it seems they will experience the bull run with Bitcoin. Change is constant, anything can happen anytime so just be prepared for anything that might come.
this used to be the case back in 2016, 2017 until 2019. but now Stablecoin has taken over that spot from bitcoin. you don't need to buy bitcoin to buy altcoins anymore. u need to buy stablecoins first to buy any altcoin. you can still buy Bitcoin directly without buying any stablecoins. so Bitcoin is still strong in that manner.
Nowadays thanks to large p2p exchanges such as Binance, you can even buy a lot of different altcoins directly from people all over the world.
999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What we all learnt this 2023 on: January 04, 2024, 06:42:26 AM
I think Telegram channels can only help you, and can help you enhance your experience a little bit more, but when you depend on Telegram channels to do something, it's definitely bad for you, because then you're just as good. Can't learn.
Telegram channels can be good source of information for those who know what they are looking for. Depending on Telegram channels and making your investment decision 100% on the basis of Telegram channel's signals and analysis then you are putting yourself in high risk.
Always consider to check the projects by yourself. check their websites, audit details and everything which can be helpful for your due diligence. then make your investment decision.
That will reduce your risk a lot. if not 100%..
1000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 03, 2024, 05:23:30 PM

Pakistan scored enough runs to not be considered bad as Pakistan's 313 was enough for the first innings.  And Australia have started their game and if they play well then there is a possibility to surpass Pakistan's runs in the first innings but since Pakistan scored 313 runs if Pakistan can bowl a bit better then they can be ahead of Australia.  So to make a good prediction we have to wait a bit more and see how many wickets Australia can save

I don't think 313 will be enough in first inning. Pakistan makes a very bad start with losing both openers very earlier than expected. Abdullah Shafique is very technical players but he is not performing against Australia which is not good for the Pakistan. Saim Ayub is new players but he is more likely to be a shorter format. Pakistan need best opening partnerships like Babar azam and Rizwan. Shan Masood and Babar also could not remains comfortable. Rizwan done a great job by making a fast 88 but I think the credit goes to Aamer Jamal and Agha salman who brings a very crucial runs for their team. Now it's Pakistan bowlers turn how they stop Australian batsmens to score and defend score to win at least one match in the series.
