981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It’s unlikely that anyone besides you will be happy with your winnings. on: March 10, 2024, 12:50:41 PM
More harm than good comes from sharing gambling wins, because people close to the gambler will believe that it's free money that the gambler didn't work for, therefore they're entitled to a share of it, and if that doesn't happen, he might be seen as an ungenerous person. But the gambler don't have a choice when it's a very huge win, because the gambling company will want to advertise the winner, so that people will see that they're reputable, in that case the identity of the winner will be made public, then everybody that he knows will feel entitled for a share of it. People who are not known by the winner will just envy and move on.
982  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need help trading. on: March 10, 2024, 10:53:59 AM

Please let me know what you think a beginner should know and where they can receive the knowledge that will help them become an expert, as well as how long it will take me to get the hang of the complete trading technique. Links are greatly appreciated.

Before embarking on this journey though you need to learn about risk management tool because trading is a speculative activity no matter how good you are on it. If I was to advice you I will say invest your money first on coins most preferable bitcoin and probably practice with Demo accounts

A newbie crypto trader must understand the undisputed truth that trading is hard and it's not a get rich quick scheme, so it's something that he must diligently learn before involving his capital, so like you pointed out, in the process of learning the newbie trader can first invest their money in Bitcoin, especially in this bull season, then start practicing with demo trading. If it's possible let him get an experienced mentor who can physically guide him, if not he can use the links that Bitmaxz, provided, they're very helpful for starters, and let him have a steady source of income, because it's easy for him to lose that $500 start up capital, without proper risk management tutoring.

I celebrate every woman in this bitcointalk forum, remain blessed.
984  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Have I been Scammed?? on: March 10, 2024, 09:29:38 AM
The hand writing is just clear on the wall mate, you have been scammed. First all this investment and get a reward after some few days are clear Ponzi schemes. What they do is to start up well and pay the first set of individuals and this individual spread the word around and when more people come into it they rug pull or set another barrier like they just do now that to get some people block.

The 10 people you messaged on Telegram will definitely be a group of the scammers replying to you so you can pay for that TVN shit. Simple advice run with the money remain and forget about the already lost ones. For future reference no one likes you much on social media to give you a money milking investment.

The handwriting was crystal clear on the wall when he was promised a big reward in a few days if he invests in their project, nobody gives free money on the internet, they've got family and friends, except it's a Ponzi. So clearly they'll pay the early investors so they can advertise and rate them legit, and as investors increases, they'll give unrealistic conditions before they'll claim their reward and eventually they'll vanish. Let the OP minimize his lose and not contact the crony contact that was given to him, unless another phase of scam will continue from there.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake loses $615k bet on Joshua-Ngannou bout on: March 09, 2024, 08:09:42 PM
A big lose for Drake, the bet was huge, anyways he's supper rich and I guess it's an amount that he can afford to loose, if not then he'll nurse the lose for quite a while and definitely move on. I'm sure that many people will bet against Joshua, winning that fight because they'll believe that Ngannou, will enter the fight to destroy Joshua, to redeem his image after losing to Tyson Fury, in his debut fight. Unfortunately he came short of glory and fell harder this time to a more experienced Anthony Joshua, I felt quite sad when the fight ended, I was hoping that he'd make a name for himself by winning Anthony Joshua.
986  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No Invest in Bitcoin When U No Dey Do Anything. on: March 09, 2024, 03:03:04 PM

987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoins to invest right now on: March 09, 2024, 01:43:22 PM
In my opinion, the best altcoins to invest in currently include ETH, BNB, MATIC, SOLANA, and ADA because these 5 altcoins have the potential to produce satisfactory profits, especially in the current market conditions which are in a bullish phase. But all the decisions are up to you. My advice is to invest in altcoins that you believe in yourself because sometimes other people's choices may not necessarily match your wishes. Therefore, be wise in determining before making a decision.

The selected list of altcoins that you mentioned are safe to invest in, because they're in the list of top altcoins, unlike new projects and the ones that have not gained reputation in the crypto space, so in this bull run I'll advise any investor to minimize risks and buy %70 Bitcoin, %10 Ethereum, and split the rest among other top altcoins, they might not give you 1000x profit, but you're certain to get massive ROI from them. New projects have the potentials to give you 1000x profit on the short term, but you must understand that buying them is a gamble because they also have the potentials to vanish your investment capital. If you have the risk absorber to invest in them, by all means can go ahead.
988  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria is set to join BRICS in May 2024. on: March 09, 2024, 11:22:00 AM
I'm a Nigerian and I'm hearing this news for the first time in this thread, we the citizens of the country needs a quick solution to the constant depreciation of our local currency, naira, and if joining BRICS can bring the needed change then let it be. Although I don't think that joining BRICS is the the main solution to the inflation in the country, the government needs to address some pressing issues like making the country conducive for local and foreign businesses to flourish. Nigeria, imports more than it exports, they should provide basic amenities like constant electricity supply, tackle insecurity in northern Nigeria, and encourage local manufacturing, then the naira, will naturally start to appreciate and reclaim it's lost glory
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I just woke up and saw wins in my gambling app on: March 09, 2024, 10:35:06 AM

It goes to show that the OP gambled the amount that he can afford to loose, that is the only reason why he will place bet and not be too anxious about the outcome, if he had staked a lot of money on the bet, he'll definitely be checking every time to see the progress of his bet. Although one aftermath of betting the amount that you can afford to loose, if you eventually wins that game, you might have a little regret that if you'd known that you'd have but more money in the bet, and it might make the gambler to subsequently be betting a little more than they can afford to loose. So to be a responsible gambler takes discipline and sticking to budget.
990  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto survey: your chance to improve the work of cryptocurrency exchangers! on: March 09, 2024, 09:51:33 AM
I see exchanges as the unavoidable middlemen, whether we like them or not, even when the centralized exchanges demand KYC from us, but because of the essential services that they offer in the crypto transactions, we can't help but accept their existence. I've started a topic before on the relevance and acceptance of crypto exchanges, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5462408.msg62661873#msg62661873.

Basically because of anonymity in the crypto space, fear of being scammed in Bitcoin p2p transactions with unknown persons and for crypto trading purposes, the services of exchanges will continue to be relevant and in constant demand to carry out crypto transactions conveniently and with lesser chances of being scammed.
991  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A blessed continent on: March 09, 2024, 08:43:11 AM

African as a blessed and one of the most favourable continent across the glove

Africa, is a great continent with abundant natural resources and good climate, we don't have natural disasters like earthquake, hurricanes and the rest of them, and finally it's people have rich cultures and traditions. What most African countries however lack is good leadership, somehow dictators and corrupt individuals and people who have no business being in the helms of affairs finds their way into leadership positions, with selfish agendas, instead of policies that will benefit the masses. Corrupt politicians makes sure that fellow corrupt politicians finds their ways into leadership, whether it's the will of the people or not, and the interest of the people are constantly oppressed.
992  Other / Archival / Re: Just another question. on: March 09, 2024, 07:52:50 AM
I don't think the sMerit will be gone or depleted from the account even after the ban is lifted it should remain unaffected.

Why did you ask this? do you have a banned account and planning to take the opportunity for "second chances"?

I'm likewise as curious as you on the essence of this thread, because if any member's account got banned and eventually got unbanned, then the account owner will then see by him or herself if the smerits in the account is still there or not, unless perhaps if their alt account got banned or they're just inquisitive to know what happens to smerits after unban. I've never thought of this question before and I'm glad that I now know the answer, although I won't like to have the experience.
993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many new projects are now available for users for testing on: March 09, 2024, 06:46:36 AM
What are the project you wanna test and how do you tends to trust any newly launch project without knowing their true intentions towards their testing service especially altcoin projects.
Whatever you are doing with any altcoin can be seen as gambling because anything could likely happened at the cost of doing the test run.

It's ok if anybody wants to join in a test, but they should understand that any new projects is a potential risk and in the end it still comes down to gambling, because when they invest their money in a scam project, it won't matter if they test or not, their investment capital will eventually vanish with the project. It's important to research and try to understand the team behind a project, to reduce the chances of being involved in a scam, rather focusing on airdrops and any unrealistic promises that they can tell potential investors.
994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam called ''INACTIVITY FEES'' - HitBTC on: March 08, 2024, 05:03:43 PM
First, let me point out that this thread is not supposed to be on this board, but in the exchange board, which the link is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=223.0, so, @op, if you can move it this thread to that board, would be nice.

Anyways, hitbtc is still one of the most scam cryptocurrency exchanges around till date, I personally stopped using them a long time ago, I still have some of my coins trapped there which I was unable to withdraw until I decide to leave it with them, I am not surprised that they have introduced a inactivity fees, this they did so that they can finally have the legal right to withdraw and keep for themselves, funds their users left on the exchange and may possibly come back for.

Avoid Hitbtc at all cost, they are a known scam cryptocurrency exchange.

This is really bad and it's the reason why new investors that comes into the crypto market and stumbles on these scam exchanges and projects will label the entire crypto space as scam. I wonder why scam exchanges like Hitbtc, are still in business after it's been proven over the years that they're not a reputable exchange, your experience and the OP present predicament says a lot about them. I hope he gets justice and recover his coins.

The lesson here is that we need to verify the reputation of exchanges before using their services, and research new projects before deciding to invest in any, because frankly it's not everybody that has the patience to read every details of terms and conditions.
995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive withdrawal of Bitcoin on: March 08, 2024, 02:32:26 PM
I mean, that's how markets in general work? An asset's price pumps(bitcoin or not), some people will be taking profit, and the price is likely to have a correction after. What will make an asset's price more stable is mostly more market participants.

Precisely, you can't go on hodling your Bitcoin indefinitely, there has to come a time when you'll want to sale, that's the idea behind investing our money on something valuable. What happens in Bitcoin circle is just basic economics, when price is high, investors will want to sale to get their ROI, as more investors are selling because of the increase in price, supply will become greater than demand and price will start to dump, it happens vice versa. So in essence it's supply and demand that dictates the price of Bitcoin and how investors react to buying and selling.
996  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be aware, no use person wallet . on: March 08, 2024, 01:13:27 PM
As this issue of binance and government dey go so, I go advise make person no go put coins for another person wallet because say em no get another wallet.
Do not get this wrong, Binance is not even a wallet. Binance is an exchange and an exchange should not be used for saving coins because it should just be for what it should be used for, for exchanging coins. After you exchange your coins, send them to a noncustodial wallet that is open source and reputed.

Your talk na GBAM! exchanges no be where person suppose to de hodle im coin, because as di name imply, na place to go and exchange your coin, either to anoda coin or fiat. Every active member inside this forum suppose know di phrase wey say if e no be your keys e no be your coins, so after you finish your exchange matter, na to jeje move your coin enter inside your none custodial wallet.

I know say as Binance de get issues with our government, scammers don enter dem coven to de device new means to take scam ignorant people, so e good say make we de informed and guard ourselves against dem manipulations.
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether Market Cap 100 billion today vs less than 5 billion 2020 on: March 08, 2024, 12:04:33 PM
Surprise how USDT grows and everyone wants to buy more bitcoin, it is not the right time to buy more USDT so he expects during the coming year the USDT market will be up to perhaps up to 300 billion dollars or even half a trillion because whoever will think about re-investing will sell part of its investments and transfer them To USDT instead of converting it to dollars due to the ease of purchasing bitcoin with USDT.
If the USDT price does not crash in 2026, which is the season of corrections, it will continue for another four years.

The usage of usdt will continue to rise because of it's importance in crypto conversions, instead of holding your Bitcoin during price dips or converting it to fiat, it'll be better if it's in a stablecoin, when price starts to pump again, the investor will easily convert to Bitcoin again, so I agree that after bull run that usdt can reach a new height. Besides in countries where their currencies are devaluing, crypto intelligent people will convert their fiat into a stablecoin like usdt, which will make economic sense, because they'll not be affected by their county's inflation. Usdt has many potentials to keep increasing.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: March 08, 2024, 11:01:00 AM
This happened a lot of times in boxing and I lost because of the obvious reason being rigged because of racism. Maybe this is the new normal nowadays in sports but yeah hard to predict when will happen so we really are left being disappointed with results though we just accept and move on.
I only go for big boxing game like the Anthony Joshua versus Francis Ngannou that we are expecting to come. These kind of boxing matches can not be manipulated. I can say I hardly bet more than 3 boxing games in a year. I prefer football and I do not think there is racism in big leagues. Underdog leagues is where that can happen and I can not go for it. To what I have known, I do not see racism in the matches that I go for.

Racism and manipulations will be dominant in underdog leagues, like you said, because they've probably got nothing much to loose, no big company endorsements that'll pull out if the leagues don't perform to standard expectations. Big leagues and top boxing matches, like the upcoming Joshua versus Nganou, will hardly give biased officiating because they have so much to loose if they stoop too low in expected standards from them, they'll lose endorsements and fans. Although no matter the standard of the leagues, you can't totally rule out prejudice, there must be personal preferences, but if the officials and athletes are true professional, then personal feelings will not count.
999  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Take Profits! Its important! on: March 08, 2024, 10:07:24 AM
Because of the uncertainties that sorounds crypto trading, where a trader can make profit now and lose everything in the same day, I think that traders should not be too greedy, when they make a reasonable profit, they can call it a day and take the profit. Trading is hard, because of the risks of loses, so it's not for everybody in the crypto space, it requires learning analysis, so when a trader beats the odds and profits, it's good to enjoy it, before it can disappear. Unlike investments where investors without adequate knowledge can hodle on a long term and sale with profit in bull run, without stress.
1000  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The American primary election. on: March 08, 2024, 09:03:02 AM

The world power country, The United States of America just concluded their primaries and the acting president Joe Biden lost in the primaries and has broken the record of many years where the acting president Jimmy Carter lost to Ted Kennedy in 1980 Jason Palmer has overshadowed Joe Biden with a whooping 51 to 40 aggregate out of 91 votes.https://l.kphx.net/s?d=6861008078129908901&extra=

I don't live in the US, and I stand to be corrected, because according to the news that I heard today, president Biden, lost in a Samoa, state or region, but he's still the leading candidate in the democratic primaries. Has the primaries been concluded and he lost in the overall? I think that we should be very specific in the information that we pass across, so that others are not misled.

I believe that Americans are smart people, so this is their opportunity to make a choice, whether president Biden, should continue in office or not, the citizens through their votes have the power to make it happen in the coming election. And whether Biden, is behind illegal migrants entering the US, if they have evidence of this, then let him be prosecuted. If the immunity of his office will shield him from persecution, then he should face the music when he leaves office.
