981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: April 22, 2021, 05:01:37 PM
West Brom need genius tactics to fight this top 3 team.  If the tactics are still common place.  I can only have a good bye for this team.

I would say much more than that. Just checked in their fixtures and their last 5 fixtures are quite tough and are against some good experienced managers. So with that upcoming I would say they need to not stick only one strategy for the remainder of the games. They need to surprise their opponents and they had so far in 2-3 games but there is still 7 rounds more to go which I think is too much for Hawthorns to keep their form.

Whatever will be the end for this match no one knows the exact outcome.  Because seeing West Brom's previous match against the top 4 team, Chelsea, it turned out to be able to beat them with a score of 5-3.  Who would have thought that a top team would be defeated by a lowly team like West Brom.  This is one of the most interesting bases to be taken into account in the following matches.  Does their record continue for Leicester too?
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: April 22, 2021, 03:04:18 PM
If they had put this kind of performance earlier then they wouldn't be in this situation but to me they are likely gonna relegate.

West Brom's next game is a form of rescuing this imminent threat.  If they succeeds against Leicester then this will be a new record for their manager because they can beat Leicester but if not, then they must be ready to catch up with Sheffield.  Indeed this match is quite tough considering the team to be opposed is a top team which is not very easy.  West Brom need genius tactics to fight this top 3 team.  If the tactics are still common place.  I can only have a good bye for this team.
983  Economy / Economics / Re: Big test for Bitcoin during the next Economic Collapse. on: April 22, 2021, 01:56:51 PM
I believe there won't be a next economic collapse that we haven't seen before. There is an economic collapse once a decade and people are now used to it, I feel like we know what to do when that happens. I have literally got myself ready for the next one already, if the economy crashes like it always does, I will be ready for it (thanks to bitcoin).

If you look at the news, the IMF has predicted that the world will experience an economic crisis that has never been experienced before.  If the IMF had said it would make more sense to believe it because it would follow the data they had.  If you predict this will not happen, that's your right, but it should be accompanied by actual data, not just baseless opinions.

984  Economy / Economics / Re: Janet Yellen to call for unified global corporate tax rate on: April 22, 2021, 11:47:22 AM
What Yellen is mainly concerned about is that US companies pay their fair share of tax. If some countries don't implement the minimum corporate tax, it's not a problem, the US can declare that no US company has the right to have a presence in such a country.

LOL.. I don't think that the American government would be stupid enough to take such a step. For many of the American companies, a large part of the revenue comes from global markets. If they are not allowed in the global markets, then Chinese or Japanese companies will fill the vacuum. No one is having any issue with the American government taxing American companies. The problem arises when the American government want to dictate how foreign governments tax foreign companies.

Indeed, the risk is very clear if the US is so strict in this tax policy, the risk is a warm opportunity for competing countries, especially China, which is indeed a trade rival for the US.  This should be very concerned about, because during Biden's leadership several policies focused directly on taxes.  The rich tax even the corporate tax.  This is a policy that has been stalled for a long time but has only just been executed.
985  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Could Have Caused Bitcoin to Flash Crash On Sunday? on: April 21, 2021, 10:11:01 PM
there's absolutely no explanation for the price movement.  It's all about investor sentiment--the demand portion of the supply & demand curve.  Sometimes people just sell a lot of bitcoin when there aren't enough buy orders to keep the price afloat and what happens?  Bitcoin drops.  I've learned to just accept the fact that bitcoin is crazy volatile and very unpredictable.  That's what makes it fun!

It is true that the price of Bitcoin moves based on demand and supply, but still the high demand and supply can be caused by many factors, one of which is a growing issue or just a price correction.  Not only news in the US, even in local news reports in my country consider this decline to be the impact of several cases that have been described by others.  However, the case which is the most interesting but not very significant effect on the price of Bitcoin is the case of the Turkish government which banned BTC as a means of payment.  This is the case that has happened frequently and many countries have implemented it so in my opinion this will not have enough effect on the overall price.  Are those who have 20% of BTC are only Turks so they can move it massively.

I think that today a lot of people will bet on Chelsea, but this can be dangerous for this match, when everyone is betting on one team, then unexpected sensations happen. Although Brighton is not in the relegation zone, he is still fight for survive. For Chelsea, this win is also very important, because they will be able to enter the top three leaders of the championship. The match will be interesting and challenging for both teams, but I will expect Chelsea to win.

This match was quite disappointing for me with a draw score.  Statistically, Chelsea was better and will be the winner but from the first half it was clear they didn't have many chances to score.  And Brigthon is quite good at maneuvering the counter-attacks to the Chelsea team.  Here I don't see a match between the top teams and the bottom teams, because so far Brighton has been pretty good at defending their goal.  Even though it ended with getting a red card.
987  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Could Have Caused Bitcoin to Flash Crash On Sunday? on: April 20, 2021, 03:49:51 PM
I can see in a simple way that the market is currently undergoing a correction after a long bullish stage causing my social media accounts to fill up with people showing off their crypto portfolios. I consider this a common thing in the world of investing both in the short term and the long term. I'm sure there will be a new draw point in crypto after its insane bulls. I was quite shocked to see the correction deep enough.
988  Economy / Economics / Re: World risk - global on: April 20, 2021, 02:34:56 PM
I feel that cyber crime is indeed a threat but as long as technology exists, hacking behavior accounts for only a few percent of the success of the technology.  Hackers are geniuses when it comes to bad things but there are many more geniuses who support and protect the good.  Hacking is sure to happen but this will not be very massive and will make the whole technology destroy instantly.  An act of this magnitude does require coordination from the many parties involved.  So, I still think this cyber risk will only occupy 3.0 points.  The category is still not that bad, only the impact will be very big later.

Chelsea vs Brighton

This game tonight Chelsea on best performance, the won to final FA cup and going to the semifinal on champions league either. while Brighton still fighting too far away from the degradation zone. head to head, Chelsea obviously better than Brighton, 3 won and 2 draw. Chelsea will be turning a full team maybe, cause only Christensen and Kovacic were injured. 3-0 for Chelsea.

Based on the track record of the team so far, it is only natural that Chelsea will be the seed in this match.  Chelsea, who were very clear against a lowly team, were not only quite seeded but also an option in today's betting.  All gamblers will choose Chelsea.  This is clearly imaginable because yesterday's game was extraordinary, Chealse was able to win against Man City, which is clearly the top team in the Premier League standings.  Chelsea, who met City in the FA Cup semi-final, were able to win narrowly but so meaningfully.  I am very sure of the winner in this match but it is undeniable that the Chelsea manager also does not want to boast about his team even with a clear track record.
990  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: UNREALIZED PROFIT IS NOT YET YOUR OWN on: April 20, 2021, 12:04:56 PM
I also mean novice traders who sometimes consider a high portfolio value to be my advantage.  But unfortunately, as is currently the case, the crypto price has corrected quite a bit and my portfolio value has corrected quite a bit in nearly 50% of its high value.  I consider when the value of my assets is very high it is my possession and I feel quite lost when the correction occurs.  I realized it was not easy to become traders who had to make wise decisions.  Moreover, buying and selling decisions.  Hold or Cut Loss, all of which are extraordinary considerations.
991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: April 19, 2021, 03:41:08 PM
Manchester United are winning again and are getting stronger at the top of 2 points, quite far too with 3rd position I think Manchester will stay until the end of the season.

Can't say for sure. They have Europa games to play as well along with PL games so any crucial injuries could pull them back down. However dropping 9 points gap seems hard but still can't say for sure about what lies ahead.

Eitherway they have confirmed top 4 finish so not gonna matter much though.

Manchester United will focus more on the European league as they have reached the semifinals and met AS Roma.
But I believe Man United can reach the final after their game is quite good, it's just that they are ready to wait for which team PL or LaLiga will meet later.

I see the remaining matches in the PL for Man United will be quite tough because they will meet a strong team but it looks like they will remain safe in the top 4 positions so far the points are enough to balance where they will lose in several matches.
Still left many points from Manchester City and need three match only for City if get full points to be champion, how ever is not easy because next two weeks City will faced semi final champion league versus PSG, they will retired with many player for next match on primer league, keep focus how to feel City going to the final for the first time in champion league.
It is clear that the winner is City, if United still want to chase it then it will take quite a lot of effort.  Everyone has predicted that the winner will be City because of the various dramas that have occurred.  I see that since being overthrown by Tottenham, City have improved their performance to the top of the standings
992  Economy / Economics / Re: Turkish Central Bank Forbids use of cryptocurrencies as a mean of Exchange. on: April 19, 2021, 02:39:15 PM
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Russia also implemented this similar ban to their citizens where they can’t exchange Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for purchasing goods and services (however trading is allowed). Even federal and government officials are ordered to dispose the cryptocurrencies that they own on or before April 1st 2021 to prevent corruption.

Transactions are irreversible, yes. It is difficult to request a refund once you have initiated a transaction. You would be lucky if the receiver is willing to send you a refund if something goes wrong with your purchase.

It is true that Russia adopts the same policies but is not as strict as Turkey's.  Russia clearly admits they ban Crypto but cannot really eliminate 100% of the crypto transactions in their country.  Because Bitcoin is still very popular with the people, it is even known that Putin's aides have crypto mining tools.  Turkey is currently still starting their policy and it looks quite tight due to lowering Crypto prices in the country.

Arsenal 1-1 Fulham

Fulham relegation battle faced another upset at the 97th mins of the game when Nketiah got a simple tap in at the edge of the goal post to make sure the points are shared at the Emirates after Fulham got the lead at the 59th mins of the game from a spot kick. Fulham may as well join Sheffield United to EFL in the coming days.
Its a pity Fulham drew this match they fought hard till.the last minute in a bid to win  at all cost unfortunately ithe match ended in a draw I believed they needed this match to increase their points to  29 in order  to close the gap with Brighton to 4 points thus opening up opportunity to fight relegation battle with 5 matches to the end of the season,  Arsenal was not too impressive in today's match probably Arteta not sticking to a winning permanent first team might be responsible for their lacklustre performance.
I am comfortable with this result as I had seen a draw coming to Arsenal as when they were down 1-0 they always seem to leave it until the last minute into injury time to come up with a goal to level it. Time and time again from the matches I have seen of them this season.
Just thought there would be way more goals.
But agree with you both.
Arsenal are struggling right now and this match was showing it.
They are missing their star leader in Aubameyang the last few games due to contracting a bout of malaria, so this ending was predictable.
https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/pierre-emerick-aubameyang-arsenal-captain-defended-alexandre-lacazette-b930312.html

Arsenal has given their best performance for this match. In the first round, they have showed us how their offensive strategy to beat Fulham and almost get goal score by Dani. However, Fullham can counterattack with goal by Josh. In the second round, Fulham performed more offensive to beat Arsenal and this match ended in a draw.

From OP ->

Quote
Dissidents, democracy protestors, opposition leaders and independent journalists worldwide are beginning to realize this, from Minsk to Lagos to Los Angeles to Buenos Aires.

It seems to me that it was only a matter of time before a country like Turkey would make such a move, and it is possible that this is not the end, and that they just make a test balloon to feel the pulse of the nation. We all know how the 2016 coup attempt ended, and as a result, the Turkish authorities have become even more cautious and suspicious - and I believe that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies do not fit well into the existing system.

Anything that could in any way undermine the cohesion of the current politico-military system is basically undesirable - nothing we have not already seen in authoritarian regimes like China or Russia where Bitcoin has not fared well, or is still in the gray zone.

Regardless of the country's political problems, it is very clear that the Turkish government is running out of ways to solve the Crypto problem.  With the current policies, the Turkish Government has lost the great potential of Crypto.  If they take another policy by imposing all Crypto activities with KYC, and imposing taxes on all transactions then this is better than banning them.  Crypto volatility is nothing to worry about.  Just need a friendly policy.  Because the Crypto ban is not the end of its users.  There are many ways to keep investing in Crypto.

Lingard needs to stay at West Ham as it seems this is the only club who made him regain some confidence in him so it will really be a bad decision from him to leave in summer because who would want him right now ? A top team surely won't pay for him even if he's still kinda young and a middle team probably will want him but for how long ? 1 year ? where in that year he will need to earn his starting place in the team....way too many things that will keep him in west ham for at least 1-2 years.

Lingard is currently in quite a confused position.  Whether he stays with West Ham or returns to Man United.  In fact, when he was with West Ham, Lingard was able to show his best performance.  Of the 9 matches he has participated in, Lingard has been able to score 8 goals and stay on the England national team list.  This is a huge achievement while at West Ham.  Meanwhile, if he returns to Man United, he will have to compete with Fernandes to be in his favorite position.  I would prefer if he took a permanent decision at West Ham and could lead West Ham to the title of the next league.
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: April 16, 2021, 03:57:40 PM
The odds payout for Everton to win the match in full time against Tottenham is @3.60, even though the rates does look tempting but I found it kind of strange as Everton will be playing this match at their home stadium, judging from the odds payout offered by the bookmakers, I think Tottenham should be able to beat Everton today.

Currently, Everton are still stuck in eighth place with 48 points, while Tottenham are just above it with 49 points.  This match was equally tough for both Teams.  I believe the both of them are highly prepared for their respective strategies because they are only 1 point apart.  The fourth position is currently occupied by West Ham United with a collection of 55 points.  If you look at the current standings Everton have only played 30 times while the others have played 31. And the last few matches Everton lost, it's been a tough Sunday for them to overtake Tottenham.

Sure I don't have this coins anymore.  Sold them again right after …  Same for some coins in 2013 (when it was @ 100) or 2015 or 2017 … Or all the ETHers I had in 2016 or …

I just started to be active again in early 2020 regretting how stupid it was that I didn't start my investment again at this time, when the price was still quite affordable and now it has touched 65k USD.  How stupid I was to be lazy back then, and today is the highest BTC price record in history.  Is this the real price of BTC and not the whales' toy?  Because seeing its height only makes me very worried if there is a major correction in the future.
1000  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anybody here sell their Gold to buy Bitcoin? on: April 14, 2021, 12:30:13 PM
Seems like Gold may be taken out by Bitcoin in a few short years.
Gold has already been taken out by bitcoin, though it's been a gradual process--and I'm talking about the increase in value over time for the past 10 years or so (since bitcoin was introduced).  Gold had an amazing run-up to the top in 2011, but ever since then it's been kind of stale.  And if you compare gold to bitcoin, it's way more than stale.

Indeed, comparing the two is a tedious thing.  It only talks about options and how dare you take risks.  Because the most basic and never changing fact is high risk high return.  Gold is a good type of investment to secure assets with low risk of loss but the resulting returns are not as far as BTC and other cryptos.  If you dare to invest your money in crypto yesterday as much as 100 $, now your money can be 172 $ in just 24 hours.  Where is the rate of return that is up to 72% within 24 hours?  nothing but crypto.  But don't be surprised if your choice is wrong then your money can run out overnight.  these two assets are not to be compared but to have as your portfolio.
