The price will definitely increase if SEC approves the ETF because new money will flow into the market and that will cause a significant boost in BTC price.
I also think a hypothetical approval of ETF by SEC would impact Bitcoin price positively on short term, although the recent news today bring very negative omens about the approval. They say it's not going to happen and that SEC is going to reject every submissions, because the industry still lack guarantees to investors, besides the number of scammers and bad actos being too high in crypto market recently. Could these so called analysts be bluffing? I think so, but their arguments make sense if we put ourselves on the regulators' shoes.

If ETFs proposals are rejected, they believe prices can drop to 36,000$-38,000$ once again... That is not too bad for the short run, and the scenario must be reverted anyway once it's halving time.

SEC will reject all bitcoin spot ETFs in January, says Matrixport analyst
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The is always on gambling, never the individual. on: January 03, 2024, 10:09:27 PM
Why do people blame gamble for their own act of irresponsibility. No one is talking about their own part in their story of bad experience's with gambling, all we get to hear is gambling is bad and a useless activity. Why?
Because people have difficult taking responsabilities for their own acts. They have to convince themselves they are free of faults and flaws, because it massages their egos, make them feel good and superior. Nowadays with internet, pride has become a very crucial characteristic of people's selfs. People have been feeding their pride like never before. They are imperfect and flawed like have always been, but now it's important to maintain an artificial image of perfection, as it's being constantly in exhibition and exposition to the world. Internet is your showcase towards the world.

Furthermore, it's easier to put the whole responsability over an inanimate tool or activity, which can't argue or defend itself, as it doesn't have consciousness, neither is a living being. So they blame gambling, as it's not going to replicate the accusation in counterpart. Everything and anything they say about gambling will be valid, they will be always the victim, and gambling the speechless villain.

Actually, that is not the biggest of the issues. The worst part is the fact authorities are legitimizing the irreponsible and childish behavior of such gamblers, by endorsing their accusations against gambling, instead of putting the responsability over their shoulders, as it should be in a society composed by mature and rational human beings.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Shared games helped you before? on: January 03, 2024, 09:54:29 PM
It's the question that bothers all the people since the beginning of the world... and I don't think there's an answer that will satisfy everyone and all situations! I think that this image says more than a thousand words:

Sometimes we need to push until the end, but sometimes it's better to stop before we lose ourselves. But how do you determine when to push and when to stop? Well, nobody can answer this question, it's on us to make a decision and to stick to it whatever the results may be... it's the risk we need to take and we are the ones who deal with consequences.
Very good image to illustrate the situation described by OP. I see the first picture really often on the internet to inspire optimism and determination on the viewers, but people tend to forget the second picture, which is a reality in many cases (probably at the most). If we think carefully about it, we will remember many events in our lives where we were already heading to very negative and probably irrevocable outcomes, but something clicked in our minds, and we made a sudden change, not reaching the rock bottom, the astral hell.

Addictions work like that. People insist practicing them, which can be compared to the miner digging in direction to the demon, and unless they stop before it's too late, at some point it won't be possible to stop anymore. On one hand we can't be too optimistic, because we may fall for addictions, and on the other hand we can't be too pessimistic, because it will prevent us from moving further in life and taking new challenges.

As I see, the image you shared has as moral the call for balance in life, so we prevent taking dangerous upside and downside paths.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Shared games helped you before? on: January 03, 2024, 08:34:55 PM
Just say let me bring this here to see how many of you have been in such situation where you have been trying for long and the day you decided not to try luck the winning will come just like a magic. Have you experience that before?
It happens all the time. Not only in gambling, but in investments as well. When you sell your coins, the market gets bullish and prices increase and you regret for having sold too early, while when you make a purchase of cryptocurrencies the prices start falling due to a bearish trend. When you think you have the right guess for a match or event and don't place the bet it happens exactly like you imagined, but you didn't place a bet, so zero profit in the end.

However, the opposite is also true and do happen as well. I have avoided several bets I had certain I could win and after all, I felt thankful for not placing the bet because I was indeed going to lose money if I followed my intuition. So it's not always a negative phenomenon or an unluck omen when it happens to us. In every cases, you should never change your gambling's plans, and never put more money into your gambling budget for this reason.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: January 03, 2024, 07:16:47 PM
A situation where the stake for the bet he won was $1k, the next statement you hear is how wish I knew I would have staked with $5k. The question is, the $5k is it an amount of money that you can be comfortable losing or it's just out of greed that you are not contented with the win amount the $1k gave you.
I believe people should be more thankful for what they have achieved, instead of constantly grumbling that it could have been better if this or that... When gamblers act like you exemplified, it shows a discontent from their part, despite their winnings, what also indicates greed and evil eye over other gamblers' superior winnings, as they wish to be on someone else's shoes.

The fact that you won  using $1k today doesn't give assurance that if you had used higher amount or that your next bet that you probably increased the wager in order to win a bigger amount will play. As gamblers let not focus all attention on the amount that we may by chance of luck win but on what we are to lose should we fail to win the bet, in that way we won't spend on gambling above what we can afford to lose.
Stay in check!
Things happen as they have to happen in luck matters. Maybe if he had used 5000$ to bet, the outcome would have been different, because he wasn't intended to make more profit than he made on that respective moment. Luck is a mysterious factor and can't be manipulated in our favour. It just happens naturally and occasionaly. I believe gamblers should focus in having a good time betting, while forgeting about potential winnings and potential losses. If they have selected a limited budget to gamble, it shouldn't be a big issue if they lost the whole budget, since it was one of the possible expected scenarios since the beginning.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why are casinos adding sportsbook on their platform? on: January 02, 2024, 11:16:47 PM
Is it more profitable to run a casino with sports betting on their platform?
Of course it's more profitable to run a business which offers more gambling categories to customers. Once gamblers get bored of playing one kind of game, they don't need to give up the platform and move themselves to the next one, because the same platform offers a wide range of gambling modalities. This way a casino makes more profit compared to its pairs and gamblers avoid spending more money on fees, as they don't need to deposit in different websites in order to play.

But that is not all... I will say by the example of my jurisdiction, where casinos games aren't allowed, but sports bets are. So these websites found a gap on local regulations to make their services accessible to more potential customers under the flag of sportsbook provider, although every other casino games are still disponible for the public inside the same website. So far, it seems regulators aren't concerned with this, so the strategy employed by casinos' owners is working smoothly.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 02, 2024, 10:00:59 PM
I want to ask, do you believe in experts gambling predictions?
They can be right on their predictions, but there isn't any guarantees about that. It's still gambling, after all, and unpredictable results are inevitable, otherwise we wouldn't have any reasons to place a bet on the underdogs. There are very few people who are able to make positive progress on long term gambling on sports matches and we don't see them sharing hints often on the internet for free. That is one extra reason why you should be careful with self-proclaimed experts telling people around to bet on X or Y. Real experts don't need doing this and they don't.

In every cases, even the real experts are prone to lose money if they enter an unlucky wave of misfortuned bets, going from profit to loss suddenly, as the profitability margin in gambling is too low, including among the best bettors, staying around 53% to 54% (Winning Percentage of Professional Sports Bettors).

Anyway, that should be expected, since if there was an accurate guesser, every other gamblers would just follow his lead, copying his bets, consequently gambling industry wouldn't exist anymore, as everyone would always bet on the winner.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 02, 2024, 09:19:47 PM
On a lighter note, I just smile and asked him if there is anything wrong while gambling or while monitoring my games and he said nothing but just that few people he knew that are gambling almost turned useless.
It's just that his personal experience with gambling was very negative, even if solely in an indirect way, as he doesn't look to have been a gambler himself, but saw people he knew becoming problem gamblers. For that reason I think it's normal he acted the way he did towards you.

Then you have two alternatives: to tell him to mind his own business and stop intruding himself in other people's affairs, or to patiently explain him not every gamblers are likely to turn into useless individuals due to their hobby. Rather, only a minority develop addictive behavior, otherwise we would have a pandemic of addiction cases spread in the world turning everyone into useless human beings to work, study and interact among themselves, because most people have had contact with gambling at least once in their lives.

I guess your decision on how to respond will always depend on your currently mood on the moment you are approached by these fellows. You were really polite this time. On the state things are reaching with people getting more and more nosy, I think I wouldn't have the same patience you had. Might it mean I care too much about what people say about my gambling habits? Cheesy
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling and religious restrictions on: January 02, 2024, 08:04:47 PM
These concepts are interesting to me because most Christian people like me, while having our religion dictate that gambling is a very serious sin, most do it anyway. Basically most christians aren't very pious at all and don't follow religion rules at least in my experience. So using loopholes to circumvent religious rules when your country even endorsed certain casinos isn't needed that much. So it's interesting to observe these differences.
What religion inside Christianity are you talking about? Protestant religions dictate gambling is a very serious sin based on the interpretation of The Bible by their pastors, although there is nothing in The Bible which literally address gambling as a serious sin, rather it talks more about sins based on the love for money, that is, to put money above everything else, including God. However, not every gamblers are greedy people. There are gamblers who enjoy to have some fun betting, but they don't sacrifice their principles and morals in counterpart.

So it's totally possible to gamble without harming the teachings contained on The Bible. When we say to play responsively, to only bet money you can afford to lose, to not chase losses, to not become obsessive for gambling, we are indirectly making the same recommendations The Bible does, because our purpose is the same: to keep a healthy, thriving and peaceful life for body, mind and spirit.

The Bible isn't aimed to punish you or to forbid you from having pleasures in life. It's just supposed to guide you in the best way as possible, so you can enjoy the best the world can offer, without prejudicing yourself. It's much more about equilibrium in our actions than restrictions and castrations.
990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees are high - a problem? Not for everyone! on: January 02, 2024, 07:37:52 PM
Where some see a problem, others see an opportunity. It has been always like this in this world. I don't really blame anyone for using the high fees phenomenon to promote their projects and views on crypto industry. It's a free land of opportunities where the best working ideas and concepts must prevail, although what bothers me is the possibility of sabotage the network could be suffering, in order to escalate an unnecessary problem, to sell an initially unnecessary solution as well, in the end.

It's like the bureaucrats always do in our traditional societies. They create unnecessary regulations to difficult citizens' lives, so they can sell the solutions or facilitate those difficults for a price, aiming personal profits and advantages for allied groups of power. For that reason, it makes total sense OP directly connects the high fees phenomenon to the satisfaction of centralization's enthusiasts who assemble themselves in monopolies or oligarchies to manipulate and exert great influence inside a niche or industry.
991  Economy / Gambling / Re: Finding a Bug on: January 02, 2024, 07:16:14 PM
How does someone go about reporting a bug to a casino a still hold casino accountable to pay a bounty?
So what have you decided? have you already report the bugs or at least ask the team or the support to what will be the prizes of your bug finding?

in some event here in forum , there are some gambling sites that conduct bug finding campaign like Fortune hack before their re opening of campaign here , so how about this site that you are pointing , is there any plans from them to have their bug finding as well?

Yes I have reported it to the casino and also I'm assuming recreated it for them I'm assuming on a test server. I forwarded the error codes from my end that I was seeing while causing the error. I believe they are fixing it but I'm not sure. Not trying to cause issues so I haven't tried to recreate the problem until they update me on my support conversation. Still waiting for them to update me and also receive a thank you$? 🙄
Let's hope you get paid for your effort, skills and honesty in reporting the bug to the platform. In every cases, you should return here after all to share a conclusion about your story, telling the community more details about this specific casino, the bug itself and how they handled the support to you. It also adds to the casino's reputation. If they were generous with you, I'm sure other gamblers will feel encouraged reporting bugs as well, when spotted on their platform. However, if they were egoistical and stingy, it's unlikely someone will help them futurely in similar situations. Keep the thread updated!

FUNToken introduced a new roadmap

Stages of the new roadmap:

— FUN Token Seed Fund Launch
— Integration with GameFi, AI, and Metaverse
— Consolidation of FUN and XFUN Tokens
— FUN ID Creation
— Introduction of FUN NFTs
— Development of a Proprietary API
— Launching a Turnkey Decentralized Gaming Solution
— Establishing a FUN DAO

Read more about the roadmap update:

https://funtoken.io/fun-roadmap/
Lots of points from this roadmap are nothing new to crypto enthusiasts. There are many tokens bringing the same concepts to the market. The one which called more attention is the first one: "FUN Token Seed Fund Launch".

Quote
The FUN Token Seed Fund earmarks significant investment into the future of blockchain integration. With a commitment of 500,000 FUN Tokens to 40 innovative startups, this fund is poised to bolster projects seamlessly incorporating FUN into their platforms, enhancing utility and elevating market value.
Quote
If you are an iGaming company, online casino, sports betting platform, or any business interested in integrating FUNToken or XFUN into your ecosystem, we have a 20 MILLION FUN seed fund ready to assist.

But how exactly does it work? Interested developers have access to this fund under what conditions in counterpart? And what is the advantage for online casinos and games to do so, instead of creating their own tokens?

I believe there could be more interaction between FUN developers and the audience, besides better explained articles about each of the features presented above, so potential investors could understand their benefits and practical impact, and not solely a brief description of each of them.
993  Economy / Economics / Re: The steps to follow in creating a budget on: January 01, 2024, 11:46:44 PM
Also, it is easier to write a budget when you live in a country without a high inflation rate or one facing recession.
It's true, because your calculations will only have a real effect for longer when prices are more stable. On the other hand, when we live in countries doomed by uncontrolled inflation, prices of goods and services skyrocket in a daily basis, so we can't calculate efficiently our budgets. In situations like that, the last of the worries is to make a financial plan, especially a long term plan, because all the concerns are focused on the present moment, so people just take all the money they earn and immediately spend it on basic products, such as food, before the prices increase once again.

Unfortunatelly, this chaotic scenario limits very much the potential an individual has to thrive financially, as he is just unable to trace long term goals. He can't even concentrate himself on what the horizons may bring, because he is constantly putting out the fire to not die burned...
994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and the Masses on: January 01, 2024, 11:20:51 PM
So, As you think, How can we bridge the gap between mainstream adoption and the complexities of blockchain technology? Share your thoughts on making crypto more accessible to the general public
Crypto services work like middlemen between the masses and blockchain technology, because they make the whole adoption process simpler and intuitive for those who aren't skilled on informatics field. Through crypto centralized platforms, newbies can start purchasing and holding their first sums of Bitcoin, while through hardware wallets such as Ledger and Trezor, they can start holding their assets in a safe manner. If it weren't for such services, adoption process would be much harder and exclusive to a small portion of the global population who masters informatics, programming and internet know-how.

With that in mind, we can't completely blame and condemn centralization, as it's helpful in some aspects and even necessary if we want Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general to become more recognizable and adopted in global scale. It's necessary to understand most people aren't programming specialists, therefore those who are have to create alternatives for those who aren't to also become part of crypto universe, despite their limitations.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the perception of people about gamblers in your neighborhood? on: January 01, 2024, 05:25:32 PM
As a result of that, societal perception has also improved as many testimonies of life-changing wins from gambling has emerged.
This is a serious and worrying interpretation of gambling. Your community has come from an extreme to another. To not accept gambling and consider it forbidden is bad, but to have a total positive impression regards it as a life changer tool is also a very dangerous one, because it leads many naive people into ignorance and misinformation, what consequently bring losses they can't afford to lose, plus bankruptcy.

You can't believe every testimonies you hear about gambling changing people's lives. You have to research who these people are and if they have any kind of connections with gambling industry, because they might be being paid to promote casinos and gambling. Maybe they are just social influencers.

A healthy perception of gambling in a society happens when it's promoted as leisure activity, a mean of having fun, while being practiced in a responsible way, without compromising funds which are destined to basic expenses, and never seen as an investment. Investments are life changers. Gambling is a hobby, like going to the movies or to the concert on weekends.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Connecting to Public Wifi on: January 01, 2024, 05:14:35 PM
I want to get the opinion how casino deal with this kind of situation. If you caught up on this messed up situation, how can you possibly defend yourself to online casino operators?

Why don't you just ask your casino operator about it? They're the ones who can best explain their IP sharing policies and how they handle situations where players are connected to the same IP address.
In every cases, I think this is the best he can do, besides reading terms and conditions of the casino he is playing at. He can send a direct message to the casino's support and explain the situation shared here, so the support will accurately reply him if he can play or not on their platform. In positive case, he has an alibi if the casino creates issues later with him for this reason, especially when trying to make a withdrawal. Gamblers always have to seek for guarantees from the house before they play and achieve big winnings, because if they start looking for such informations after they win, it's very likely they are going to have their payments denied, due to casinos using such gaps as "legit" excuses to not pay them accordingly...

The concern brought up here is actually very recurrent as a common situation experienced by many gamblers in a daily basis, as we are constantly going out, accessing Wi-Fi on the streets, what inevitably involves public connections which have hundreds or thousands of people using them simultaneously. At some point, there will be two or more gamblers using the same public Wi-Fi and the same casino platform. So, they must know what to do in this case and if it will bring punishments over their accounts.
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health concern on: January 01, 2024, 05:03:30 PM
My question is :
Do you know the status of your health while gambling and what do you do if you happen to suffer a mild or hard stroke?

This is why I make it a point to open my messenger and have my loved one that I can contact in case, whenever I'm playing alone.
Heart acceleration is normal when facing sudden unexpected events, even if they are good ones. Strokes, heart attacks, pressure peaks are the worst outcomes of those surprises and happen for a small number of people. I believe we can't live fearing of dying or damaging our health from a surprise. There are so many variables that it would be a mistake to predict exactly what will happen if you have a big win from gambling. If it has to happen, let it happen naturally, as it's supposed and intended to be. In fact, those emergencies can happen even if you are doing nothing at all, as probably you have already heard of people dying from such issues while sleeping or while seated down at the living room's armchair.

You will do what you have to do to try saving your life in such cases. Contact who is closest to you in the moment of the emergency or call the ambulance. Don't neglect minor symptons or the disapperament of them moments later. They might be signaling something more serious and devastating if you aren't fast enough to adress the problem.
998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I Too Broke To Own Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2023, 09:08:28 PM
The problem here isn't to be unable to hold Bitocoin. The issue is that you have too much debt in your life, what forces you to get rid of your Bitcoin holdings to pay for it. You have to manage your finances and organize yourself in a way you decrease your monthly expenses, so you will be able to start holding Bitcoin tracing long term goals for your coins.

Your wage isn't that bad. 3000$ monthly would be the heaven for many people in the world. It would be the final solution for many of our problems and the possibility of achieving many of our dreams, but for you it's not enough... Then I guess even if you had a higher income, it wouldn't be enough, anyway, because the problem in your case is how you (don't) organize your expenses and not the flux of money coming in.

I don't want to be nosy, but since you are sharing your story on this forum, I feel like I have right of doing so. You have to talk to your wife and make her understand you need her help in the task of decreasing debt, spending less money and saving some portion of monthly income for investment reasons. Make her understand you are doing it for your family, and not only for yourself. It will be a positive and impacting measure for both of you. While you don't do this, I fear it won't be possible for you to invest in BTC, so have this talk and make a decision for your life as soon as possible.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale betting system on: December 30, 2023, 07:22:36 PM
Everybody hates Martingale, but nobody can gamble without applying it to their gameplay. You may not double your bets on every loss, but you increase it anyway, so you are applying Martingale concept in your game, in every case.

Martingale has a limited benefical effect in our gambling session, but it's necessary on short run, otherwise we don't reach anywhere through repeating bets without adjusting their size on winnings and losses. Gamblers making short time profit are achieving this through this method, so it has its advantages. Even in sports betting this strategy can be applied.

And in fact, among every strategies I've already seen on the internet, Martingale is the one which best worked for me, making my bankroll grow and last for longer, although losses were inevitable after all. If you think it's bad, that is because you haven't tried others yet, like: reverse Martingale, Labouchere, Paroli, Fibonacci, D’Alembert...
1000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from crypto influencers on: December 30, 2023, 06:25:27 PM
All the influencers have some kind of economic interest in their efforts and they tried to give the best one to their community as they also wanted to keep their reputation intact.
Usually they don't give the best to their community. They offer the product which developers pay them the highest sum of money to be promoted, or just the product which developers are willing to pay them to promote. There isn't any kind of filters or quality control in most cases.

If an influencer community is not getting any benefits from him then surely they will stop following him. So if any influencer is sharing only the bad projects then I need to say he doesn't have much knowledge about the industry and is not qualified to share investment information.
Besides not having knowledge, the influencer is also greedy and egoistical, because he wants to make money promoting a product he doesn't know very well, neither know how it works for real. He cares for himself, his personal gains, and nothing else. He gives a shit if his followers are going to lose their hard earned money. Ironically, they make a living from that public's views...

I don't consider influencers to be bad actors in the market as they are the fastest way to learn about new projects and any new events in the vast ocean of crypto.
If not worse than the developers themselves, influencers are equally bad. They are the vehicles or middlemen being used by developers to scam the naive and deluded public through shady crypto projects which have as goal to only enrich the people behind it, ot the topside of the pyramid. They use charisma and influence to potentially harm other people. That is disgusting.
