981  Economy / Services / Re: Paid Testers Wanted for Alpha Stage [2] - Updated Salary on: July 20, 2016, 12:56:02 AM
I already had replied to a PM but wanted to post I here as well to see if anyone else was having this issue. I'm stuck on a bug that tells me I need to verify my email address, but I had done that with the last tests. I wasn't sent a new email to verify either.

[IMG ]http://i68.tinypic.com/65qw5t.png[/img]

Try to click on the same verification link (if you have received it once). Also I confirm that I have received the payment for the first round and I still try to continue contributing to make the platform as less buggy as possible.

I've been trying to click it but don't have the option. It's greyed out fo me on my phone. I'll have to grab a computer and see if I can get it sent again.

Woah why is the kitchen Reno taking 5 weeks?! Did the plumbing / electrical / gas have to be moved?

Honestly we just got pretty much the same kitchen a few months back and it took 2 guys 2 full days then a few hours correcting things that I noticed were wrong (2 counters that were different heights on either side of the stove and a few knobs that needed to be replaced)

Although we did a lot of it ourselves (flooring, electrical was done beforehand, paint, lighting, venting for the range hood) so I guess those finishing touches took time beforehand and time after they came. That and I must admit we didn't go with granite Wink

Omg. I'm so embarrassed for the whole community. This is equivalent to a rapping Jesus. I'm all for bitcoins but wow.
986  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] my $20CAD PayPal for BTC on: July 15, 2016, 12:33:03 AM
I'm still looking for $20CAD (or less) and have PayPal.

Reply here or PM if you're interested.
So that would be 15 dollar in PayPal, right?
I can give you 0.02 btc at the current preev rate @659.5USD per btc.

$856.30 / 20 = 0.023356 / 0.02 = 1.1678 aka: 16.78% markup. That's way too high of a fee for me, sorry.

I'm still looking for $20CAD (or less) and have PayPal.

Have 0.01779btc left if you want to trade for that.
Let me know in a pm.
btw, what is the exchange rate of CAD to USD right now? Not on my pc at the moment to check the exchange sites.

That's an even worse rate (31.29%)... No thanks.

I think I'll just buy them from 247exchange.
987  Economy / Goods / Re: [Price drop] Create secure paper wallets with an Ubuntu Live USB 0.03BTC each on: July 14, 2016, 02:08:09 PM
I have received my usbs. They came very well packaged ready to use. Chris even sent me a guide on how to securely generate vanity addresses using the USB.

You can boot your computer into Ubuntu using the USB, which includes everything you need to securely generate addresses. Very easy to use device!

Thanks for the review Zeroxal! I really appreciate you taking the time to write on my thread and I'm glad they made it quickly! I was worried with all of this talk of a Canada Post strike that they would be stuck in Canada until this all blew over.

Let me know if you need any other guidance on generating paper wallets.

Despite your recommendation to run it through an antivirus, I still think it wouldn't be too hard to add a line or two to the code in the version of bitaddress/vanitygen that would either a) send the info to some server somewhere or b) bias the generation of addresses.

In order to truly ensure that it was secure, you would need to get a copy of everything on the usb from a reputable source and perform a diff to ensure that no malicious code was added inside it. And at that point, just downloading it from the source would be easier.

Nothing could be sent to a server because you're never connecting to the internet while on Ubuntu. So if anything was sent while you switched over to Windows it would just be your part private key (which is useless without the other part)

I'd say do whatever you need to in order to confirm there's no malicious software and if people don't want anything but an Ubuntu Live USB then I won't include Vanitygen or the downloaded version of Bitaddress.org. My whole idea was to make it simple for people with everything you need included and a step by step guide to go with it.

I haven't added any code into Vanitygen or anything else on the USB for 2 reasons:

1. I'm not out to rip off someone who just bought something from me

2. I have no idea how to write code of any type so whatever Vanitygen is written in is a foreign language to me!

Like I said though, if you'd like me to omit extras I can very easily do that and if you're able to test it in other ways then I suggest you do so so you know you're 100% safe.
988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [HELP] Bitcoin survey for my Master's thesis ^^ on: July 14, 2016, 03:28:13 AM
Done!

2 things I noticed:

1. Bitcoins aren't anonymous. You can take precautions to hide your identity but either way it's pseudonymous.

2. There are transaction fees, so to ask if we're using Bitcoins because there aren't transaction fees isn't a relevant answer. I am, however, using Bitcoins because of the LOW tx fees.

990  Economy / Services / Re: Bitvest Suggest Compeition, win .1 BTC! on: July 13, 2016, 10:33:29 PM
I would suggest coming up with an exciting game that you've 100% come up with completely on your own (I get it's ironic, but this will give you a competitive edge in a market where it's desperately needed).

A lottery with 'the world's first BTC1000 prize' or something big like that, that would draw a lot of attention.

A small decentralized exchange on the casino website for people that stumble across it but don't have any BTC is another idea. Maybe you could use only things that are harder to reverse (aka: not PayPal).

With the exchange idea, you could also have it where it's a gamble on what rate you get. Put in $100 and you can choose your multiplier up to 2x (you get $50 or $200 in btc to bet with).
991  Economy / Services / Re: [2mBTC Bounty] Help me find a 'Lemon' 3 wick Bath & Body Works candle (Canada) on: July 13, 2016, 02:28:16 AM

Again, they don't ship to Canada . Also this is in USD, making it way over my budget.

What about this one chris!. Its cheap as well but don't know how much is the shipping charges. Are you searching for candle lower than 30$CAD

They're charging $47.99 for shipping to Canada.
992  Economy / Services / Re: Help me find a specific Lemon scented 3 wick Bath & Body Works candle (Canada) on: July 12, 2016, 11:56:08 PM
Has anyone found any? I've already been looking off and on for months so I'm not all that surprised I guess. It's easy to find them but hard to find one that isn't astronomical in price!

https://www.amazon.com/Bath-Body-Works-White-Candle/dp/B00CYPU950/ref=sr_1_6?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1468367295&sr=1-6&keywords=white+barn+lemon+candle

it help you? 17,20$

"This item does not ship to Canada. Please check other sellers who may ship internationally." so that's no good to me unfortunately. I'd prefer to buy within Canada but if it's from the USA or over seas it'll be expensive to ship.

Ah let's see... I think we'll have a decent increase in difficulty. Why? Why not Smiley that's why (flawless logic).

+3.2 = Chris!
995  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: July 10, 2016, 09:38:14 PM
thank you to the developer tho and i hope you can add some features soon.

What other features are you looking for? You can see potential activity, post counts, addresses used and anything else I would think anyone would need.
996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If u were Warren Buffet would u buy 51% of Bitcoins? on: July 10, 2016, 01:17:12 PM
NO?! He would never put 5billion into 1 investment that's so risky unless he was going to pull out after a very specific chain of events was going to happen and he knew 100% for sure it was. (example: the EU switches over to Bitcoins instead of euros)

I wouldn't ever put all of my eggs in one basket. When you do that you feel every little drop as if it's a huge loss. 'I'm down 10% over the course of the week... AKA 500 million! NOOOO!'

+ he's too old school. If it's not a brick and mortar business he doesn't care about it.
997  Economy / Services / Re: Help me find a specific Lemon scented 3 wick Bath & Body Works candle (Canada) on: July 10, 2016, 01:10:45 PM
Still looking. Let me know if you find anything. Like I said, even if you find the smaller candles (at a decent price) I'm interested as long as it's lemon from the white barn collection.
998  Other / Meta / Re: Should signatures be removed from the marketplace or be more strict? on: July 09, 2016, 09:07:27 PM
I had suggested this a few months ago, same with all of the 'captcha' services that constantly got bumped. Honestly I never go to the marketplace section anymore because of this. It's hard to find actual people/businesses posting about actual services.

What I was told when I asked about this was 'it just seems like there's a lot of threads because they get bumped all the time. Nothing we can do about that.'
999  Economy / Service Discussion / 16.666666 btc reward after halving??? blockchain.info mistake or Satoshi error? on: July 09, 2016, 05:30:39 PM
50/3 = 16.66666666. Uh oh. What went wrong? Is this a blockchain.info mistake or did the miners really receive 16.6666666 BTC + fees?

Edit: It was obviously just blockchain.info. They've corrected it now. They always seem to mess something up don't they?

Edit2: Locked. Don't use blockchain.info for anything you care about Smiley (aka: your coins!) 50/3 = 50/4 to them. They have a crappy wallet and crappy website with mistakes all the time.
