981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 20, 2023, 10:08:46 AM
These 3 teams that Gilas will face in the tune-up games are NOTHING compared to the teams they will face on the official bracket.

I've read somewhere that they chose these three teams to simulate the kind of play in their region/places. Like for example, they will face the Dominican Republic so they choose Mexico for them to acquaint themselves more with the Latin brand of basketball, i think i have said this in my previous post. I think they will try to dissect the system of play of their tune-up opponents hoping that this will bring similarities on their actual opponent in the FIBA World Cup 23.

But I agree with you that this kind of easy game should not be the basis of choosing the final 12 but I think also that even before these games they already have in mind on who will be cut.

It's great that we won in a tune-up game, but it's true that in the actual game, especially against the Dominican Republic, I'm not sure if we stand a chance. Just recently, the Dominican Republic defeated Canada in a tune-up game. Considering Canada is a top 10 team in the FIBA World Cup, this highlights the strength of the Dominican Republic's team. While we might be excited about our victory in a tune-up game, we need to realize that it's just the beginning. The true test will come in the first game of the FIBA World Cup on August 25.

The Dominican Republic has reached a different level since KAT joined the team. Their newfound confidence is remarkably high, making them a tough opponent that's challenging to defeat. Our advantage lies in our team's 'PUSO', and with the games being played on our home court, the Gilas players must perform exceptionally well. Coach Chot has yet to finalize the roster to represent the country. There are rumors that Abando might not be selected, as they aim to surround JC with tall shooters who possess excellent height which we all know Abando is small.

By the way guys, can you share here your final 12?

With KAT's height and all those edge against an average player he extremely add the weight for Dominican Republic, I see the point that the team already have that chemistry then adding another big threat surely gives them big advantage they developed team game, and that's another thing to watch out, they are leaning with each other and they are capable of beating strong team with that kind of good communications and chemistries.

Though, there's a saying "The ball is round". We never know what luck will permit or how the team's strategy will work against the opposing team.

KAT isn't the only threat they have; they also boast several shooters and taller, physical players. However, if we manage to contain KAT's presence in the paint, the games could become quite exhilarating. Gilas has strong outside shooters, and the fans' support could play a significant role in inspiring their performance.

With Junemar Fajardo, AJ Edu, Japeth Aguilar, and Kai Sotto, these big players will likely pose challenges for KAT in the paint. While it's difficult to directly compare an NBA player to a non-NBA player, it's plausible that KAT could face double-team defenses from our bigs.

Quote
I don't have my list since I don't want to disappoint myself. I know coach Chot will have a surprise for every gilas fan.
It would be surprising if Abando isn't included in the final 12. I'm confident that fans would be disappointed and might criticize the coach's decision once again.
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 20, 2023, 09:16:43 AM
The question is, is this fight going to happen now?

Anyone can share any news though? it seems that we have gone off-topic with Floyd and other boxers in this thread.

Maybe everyone can see this Tapales fight here to see if he has a good chance to win,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krk0B0OeU8U

To be honest, I don't see him having a good chance of defeating Inoue. While he's undoubtedly skilled, facing Inoue, who is an exceptional and well-rounded fighter, his aggressive style might only lead to an early knockout. He'd be fortunate if he manages to land the first significant blow on Inoue, because if not, Inoue's power is likely too much to withstand.

Though Tapales is one of our own, I'm not allowing bias to affect my opinion. I'm simply expressing my honest viewpoint.

However, if it were Casimero, I believe the odds would be more evenly split.

I don't believe the odds would be evenly split. During the initial announcement of the Inoue vs. Casimero fight, which was subsequently canceled, bookies heavily favored Inoue to win. I don't expect this to change now, especially given Inoue's continued success and Casimero no longer holding the championship title. What I mean is that bookies might exaggerate Inoue's chances due to his championship accomplishments. This situation actually benefits those of us who support and believe that Casimero is capable of triumphing over Inoue.

Meanwhile, here's some news about Fulton.

Stephen Fulton moving up to 126 To Capture Title, Then Rematch Naoya Inoue.

It would be too easy for Inou then to get another belt, but the question is, can Fulton capture a title at 126?

983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth it to teach older people about bitcoin technology? on: August 19, 2023, 09:18:40 PM
Keep in mind that getting older does not make something obsolete. Even merely suggesting that older generations shouldnt learn about bitcoin is to undervalue their capacity for comprehension and development.

Everyone may free themselves from the constraints of established financial institutions thanks to bitcoin, the exact embodiment of decentralized power. The kids are involved in a revolutionary movement, not a passing fad! We can learn from history that ignoring important changes in society systems only results in stagnation. Do you want to leave this movement unnoticed by an entire generation?

For the record, more of these "older people" have experienced revolutions and technological advancements than the majority of us do! Dismissing them is not simply rude; it also demonstrates narrow-mindedness. Embrace change. Embrace knowledge. Embrace EVERYONE in the march towards a decentralized future
You’re right indeed. Being old does not mean that your knowledge or level of understanding also become less valuable. In fact, a lot of older people have been more successful when it comes to new innovation like bitcoin because they understand more its process and that it really takes time, unlike those new emerged millennials that are used to instant and only see bitcoin as another get rich quick scheme. They only want shortcuts to success and we can’t also blame them for that since they were born at a computer age wherein everything is done fast and instant with the use of technology.

Does he really understand that? He's sad leaving the Warriors and we can see that he's not happy with it.

We seem to have differing interpretations. I believe he's content with the trade, especially considering his inconsistency following the altercation with Draymond Green. His actions possibly indicated a lack of interest in continuing with the team, which might have influenced the management's decision to trade him.

Staying with the Warriors could have subjected him to ongoing criticism. Therefore, being traded to a new environment could be beneficial, allowing him to display his talents and hopefully forge strong bonds with his new team without facing any confrontations so he will not be punch in the face again. 986  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Passive income with crypto on: August 18, 2023, 09:59:45 PM
Staking would be great but it will never stay passive in the future. Know that there are actually no passive income that will stay that way forever. Everything should be done with more time and efforts so that you will mold it into an active income, and not that it’s only going to give you profits without putting any work on it. That could be the reason why instead of looking for a passive income which I think is still unreliable, go look for an active income instead. That way, you will know that you’ll be generating profits soon because you have seen how much efforts you have put into it just to see it working and become successful.
987  Economy / Economics / Re: Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...? on: August 18, 2023, 09:36:20 PM
It’s always known to us that any business in the market has its own risk, that is why even if we’ll anticipate it’s profitability, but no one can guarantee if it’s going to happen or not. Therefore, it’s hard to expect quick profits in every business, otherwise you will fall in the traps of scammers if your mindset is like that. Business is like a plant, once you start planting it, it will grow on its own but it will die on its own too. However, if you have carefully plan it’s growth and put a lot of efforts to make it work, then like a plant, it will also blossom into a very beautiful one, like a very profitable business that comes from your sweat and hardwork just to make it work and progress.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 18, 2023, 04:40:41 PM
Since there's no new update yet regarding the fight, let's discuss what Bob Arum said about his fighter Inoue, who he believes is probably better than Pacquiao.

What does he mean by that? Does he mean they have achieved more so far at the same age or division, or does he believe that Inoue would be able to surpass the success of Pacman? Many experts believe that there's a very slim chance that someone in the current generation would surpass what Pacman has achieved. So, if Inoue is special, he might be able to prove the experts wrong.

Presumably, over their entire careers, Bob has managed both fighters, so he understands their potential for the future. Pacman has proven to be the best in the world of boxing. Inoue, although currently a superstar and would make history if he completes and wins this fight, still falls short of surpassing what Pacman has already achieved as a boxer. Inoue will face plenty of challenges in the future; he may dominate in his current division, but moving up presents another challenge for him. Gaining weight again could affect his quickness, as per science.

One advantage Inoue has over Pacman at the current age is that Inoue is still undefeated. However, if we compare the quality of opponents they have faced, I think Pacquiao has fought more challenging opponents than Inoue.

Being undefeated is not necessarily an advantage in my opinion. Nowadays, there are plenty of undefeated boxers, and some of them are relatively unknown. It's the quality of fights that truly matters, and I would like to see Inoue taking risks against well-known boxers as he continues to build his own legacy.
989  Economy / Gambling / Re: Opinion on crypto casino project on: August 18, 2023, 04:10:15 PM
If they do not agree with this idea, we can expect them making announcements to ban these web3 sites.

They would certainly not agree with the idea, as the government aims to regulate things. Cryptocurrency is supposed to promote full anonymity, which differentiates it from centralized systems. However, with government intervention and regulations, us gamblers are heavily affected, and we need to comply if we want to avoid lawsuits.

It's a challenge for this plan project to succeed, so I'm closely monitoring their developments.

Hopefully, it will progress as expected by OP, and our fears and doubts won't materialize. Smiley

For me, it’s a good mindset by convincing yourself not to trade when you know you are not ready yet to take the trading challenge. Trading is only for those who are capable to trade and knows the market well, but successful trading requires years of trading experience in the market with all the honed skills and working strategies that are proven to be helpful when trading.

Just to remind all newbies that trading isn’t the only option to be profitable in the market. If you have the knowledge and capable enough to buy bitcoin at your own risk, then you can invest on it for long term. Bitcoin is for long term investment, at least that way you’ll be able to increase your future profits depending on how long the years you are going to hold.
991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next Bitcoin Bull Run: Is It Tied to the Next Halving? on: August 17, 2023, 08:32:49 PM
I would be lying if I say I’ll never be expecting a bull run after this bitcoin halving. For most of us here, I think bull run may be tied to bitcoin halving event. But I’m not saying that if there’s no bitcoin halving that’s supposed to happen, then we will never witness another bull run. Of course, it always depends on the factors affecting the market’s condition. If there will be a sudden price hike that will consistently appear in the market, then most possibly it will lead to another bitcoin bull run. However, know that those previous bitcoin bull run have happened after the bitcoin halving event. So if we will witness bitcoin halving this 2024, then probably the next bitcoin bull run will be on 2025. That’s not far from happening I guess.
992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 17, 2023, 03:53:14 PM

Top Rank and Bob Arum should convince his handlers to at least go to US and explore their options there. Maybe there could be more money in the US market for them and they really need to break in the current market. Inoue is amongst the p4p right now, the US audience needs to see him fight live in their soil just like what Manny did during his prime. Asian fighter conquering US and making jump in weight classes.

That's the only criticism leveled at Inoue, despite him being a great boxer. I read an article stating that Floyd wants to see Inoue fight in the US. This country offers better opportunities for boxers like him, and he could also find better challengers in a larger market. I suppose he needs to accept that challenge to silence those who believe Inoue's victories are due to his fights being mainly in Japan.

I've also come across rumors about Inoue potentially fighting Tank Davis at a catch weight. I think that could be lucrative for both fighters. However, the question remains, do both of them see this as an opportunity?
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Technology is Changing Sports Betting on: August 17, 2023, 03:10:37 PM

I'm actually quite interested in sports betting AI, but I don't think it could effectively work considering games occur on a daily basis. Knowing AI, I don't think they are that up-to-date. What are the sources of information? I'm sure they're on the web, but in gambling, there's unwritten information that's crucial for our analysis. That alone would already make an AI less effective.
Maybe it's still unclear for now but sooner or later, we shall see people that are managing to get their hands on it and keeps on using it.

And that all means that it's been effective to them. But as of this time, I can say that there's no need for its application and the current tech is more than enough. It doesn't mean that I'm not open to changes and adaptation.

If they develop an application specifically for sports bettors, there's a chance that we will have updated information. The developers are aware of how significant their market is, as gamblers who are risking a substantial amount of money will not hesitate to buy subscriptions, as it would make their job easier. However, I don't think it will disrupt the sports betting industry. Instead, I see a positive impact on the industry, as more people will become interested in sports betting, leading to increased profitability on their side.
994  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Is there a site where you can withdraw without deposit? on: August 16, 2023, 02:48:50 PM
Are there sites where you can actually withdraw coins? I mean gambling sites. It doesn't have to be a lot of money, but I used to have the impression that there were more sites like this and it was much easier to withdraw free money. I know there is freebitcoin that gives you free btc every hour, duckdice is also a faucet - do you know any other sites you can recommend?

Are you referring to faucets? While I know there are some, because faucets are a form of promotion, I would discourage you this early, as they are just a waste of time. They are only popular during the early stage of crypto, as you can earn a decent amount in the long run, especially if you are a holder. I suggest that you expand your knowledge, be more realistic, and try to explore yourself to see if you have the talent that you can use to earn crypto. That way, you can discourage yourself from relying on faucets.

Maybe you can also explore here Games and rounds too.
995  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the effect of having plenty children to the national economy of a country on: August 14, 2023, 07:16:57 PM
Is there an effect both positive or negative to the county's economy when couples have plenty children?

In the past before the current economic era, around the 15th century and the beginning of the French industrial revolution, having many children was seen as fertility and good for both the family work force and country's also. The labour force was majorly manual and those who worked at the plantations were sort after as able bodied men or women.

But at the moment, what is the viability of having many children especially as it could reduce the per capital income.

I think it's the dream of many people to have a complete family, but it comes with high responsibility and is expensive to raise children. In most developed countries, it is becoming a struggle to keep the population growth up within the native populations, because it can be hard enough to buy or even rent these days, so starting a family has all these additional obstacles. So many people are being put into debt at the earliest ages, with university degrees that cost tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars and taking a long time to pay off. While others may have children and struggle to support them, the most responsible are perhaps putting off the decision and may even leave it later than is wise.
While most of the couples have struggles in raising their kids and enjoying the country’s provisions, but I don’t see it why most of these couples still have hard time to control the birth rate of their kids. Maybe because of their wrong mindset that when they have more kids, there will be bigger chances that they will not die poorly because they have a lot of kids to rely on. But how will be the present and future of these kids? Having a high populated country will cause a lot of negative factors and one of them is that these kids will experience low quality of living especially if their parents are incapable to support their basic needs in the long term.
996  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As an undergraduate, is it advisable to invest my trustfund in Bitcoin? on: August 14, 2023, 03:41:43 PM
So, here's what I want to know: Is it a good idea if I use the money I've saved up from 3 years of my trust fund to buy Bitcoin?
we have often seen and read about students learning to understand how to trade, invest in Bitcoin, maybe there are hundreds of experiences on the internet that are scattered about student life and Bitcoin.

For me it's not bad if you want to invest in Bitcoin with the money you have right now, maybe you can read a little about How can a student invest in bitcoins?, for you to understand the risks and other things before you invest in Bitcoin.

I'm sure that friend of yours, telling you about Bitcoin, must have done it before, sure if you really want to do it, anyway, stick to your friend's guide, if he understands where it's good when buying and where it's good when selling it.
If you really want to invest in bitcoin, then do your intensive research. Do not just invest just because your friends are profiting from it, but invest because you believe in its high potentials that will bring you future profits. Well, the fact that it’s your own trust fund, then the final decision is all yours. But as a co-investor too, my suggestion is to never put all your trust fund only in bitcoin. Learn to diversify your investment. You may want to invest in stock market as well aside from bitcoin, but never risk an amount that you can’t afford to lose.
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 14, 2023, 11:28:19 AM
If they can find another alternative, maybe they will push for that instead of working on it with Dana, just like what you said
there's something between White and Paul.

But, maybe if money will speak out loud, for sure business will come up first before anything, I mean if the price is right and the negotiation
turn into a good deal between everyone's camps.

We might see things to happen inside MMA arena.

Per report, Nate Diaz earns 20 million USD on his fight with Jake Paul, bigger that his whole earning in the UFC (some said bu t i don't if true) so this rematch will take place and it will be good if it happens in a Mix Martial Arts arena which i think Diaz could avenge his defeat on Paul. Even if the promoter offer half of what he earned on his fight with Jake Paul, I think Diaz will not hesitate to agree.

Nate Diaz doesn't seem to face any issues, whether it's in boxing or UFC, because regardless of the outcome, he still stands to earn a substantial amount of money. The real challenge lies with Jake Paul, given that he has a reputation to safeguard. A loss could significantly impact his future in boxing. Therefore, it's in his best interest to continue winning, especially since he's regarded as a superstar in the world of boxing exhibitions, unlike Nate Diaz.

Regarding the rumored $20 million figure, I would be hesitant to believe it without confirmation from a reliable source. Nevertheless, I'm inclined to think that both fighters still managed to earn a satisfactory amount, considering that their fight turned out to be quite entertaining.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 14, 2023, 09:17:04 AM
I cannot blame Inoue if he will choose to climb the next weight class again and make another victory run after achieving his goals in this division, even if that means leaving Casimero again because that's not ducking for me as Inoue have his own priorities that needs to come first and Casimero unfortunately, doesn't have anything that will give him any benefit as the latter haven't have anything to offer.
It should be right that, there's nothing wrong. The only possibility if Inoue win against Tapales is rematch with Fulton or Tapales or even fight with Akhmadaliev, Casimero is an unknown boxer in super bantamweight and he should accept if he's not a special person.

A rematch with Tapales might be on the horizon depending on the fight's outcome. If it's a close contest, the possibility of a rematch becomes more likely. However, considering a rematch with Fulton seems absurd. The former champ didn't appear to be in his usual form; perhaps he was wary of Inoue's power punches. Unfortunately for him, he was still caught and knocked out in the later rounds.

Quote
I think it's only a dream Casimero can fight with Inoue.
Let's be optimistic that it will turn into reality.

As I read through the updates on the World Cup, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Philippines is currently in the top 20 of the power rankings.

Quote
#23 Georgia Georgia (=)
#22 Japan Japan (-8)
#21 Montenegro Montenegro (+4)
#20 Philippines Philippines (+2)
#19 China China (+2)
#18 Puerto Rico Puerto Rico (+2)
#17 New Zealand New Zealand (-1)
https://www.fiba.basketball/basketballworldcup/2023/news/fiba-basketball-world-cup-2023-power-rankings-volume-ii

Take a look at the countries ranked closely to them—Japan and China. Although they competed in the FIBA ASIA, I didn't perceive them to be as close during the actual game. As the explanation goes, JC's potential impact on the team might have contributed to their improved ranking.

So with thisd development, I am now incline to believe that the Philippines has chance of winning in the first round.

This forum is indeed a big blessing for me. Seeing how I was when I was not in the forum yet, aside from seeing crypto and bitcoin the negative way like most others, the struggle to improve my finances is really high and seems even if I work hard, with all the limited earnings I have, my finances will always suffer. That’s when my friend introduced this forum to me. At first I was hesitant but when I started exploring the forum, I realized that there is a lot more interesting topics to learn that could change my whole perspective about bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

Thankfully, I was able to do my due diligence and learn a lot from this forum, to the extent of finding another means to increase my income from participating in a signature campaign that is giving me a good compensation. Until now, I still owe a big part from this forum because this has brought big changes to where I am right now. Not literally rich and wealthy, but I’m now starting to afford the things that I want to buy.
