Why the French giants haven't won the Champions League, despite having a star-studded team.
I can answer that with a question: why Manchester City didn't win Champions League although they have one of the best squad? Why Bayern didn't make it so far in CL although dominating Bundesliga by far and having many stars?
It isn't a matter of how much good players you have, it is a matter of how coherent is the players in every game, how tactically good is the coach and how much injuries they have in addition to how many mistakes were made especially in case of lack of concentration due to exhaustion.
Real Madrid won its game although being behind thanks to the lack of vigilance of their opponents when facing the dangerous offence of RM.. Ancelotti made mistakes but their rivals did worst. That's football after all.
On the other hand, apart from the factors you mentioned, there is a word that is left behind, namely experience.
In terms of performance and players, it is clear that City, Bayern and PSG have advantages in all aspects, but their experience to feel the title is quite minimal in the Champions League. On the other hand, the coach does play an important role as well because the coach is also required to be able to lift not only from the performance but the mentality of the players.

Maybe it isn't completely official on Transfermarkt currently but it looks like the Kalidou Koulibaly deal has been completed for Chelsea. Napoli have lost one of their most important players by this transfer. However 40 million euros is a really nice amount of money. They can sign a new decent defender by using this money too. Napoli had a good season last but I expect them to improve themselves more. Because we have started to see different teams being the champions so they should also take advantage of this situation.
At least in this case they received fresh money that could be used to overhaul the defense for next season.
But it's a pity if we look at it before because Kim Min Jae, who was Napoli's target for Koulibaly's replacement, is now no longer available because he has gone to Ligue 1 with Rennes.
Napoli now have to move quickly, especially when the transfer window is getting to the end.

https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2022/07/14/62cfd73146163ffc728b4584.html

According to Marca, Real Madrid are interested in signing Jude Bellingham at the moment. He has been a target for Liverpool as well. However I feel like the rumour about Liverpool will stay like that for now. But on the other hand I don't feel the same for Real Madrid. As they have been quite silent for some time they might be preparing for a big move like this one. It would be a really big move because Bellingham's market value is even 80 million euros now.
In this case I still don't understand why Madrid want Jude Bellingham for now.
Indeed in terms of Jude Bellingham's form is very good at the moment but if we look at the depth of the squad from Madrid actually for now they don't need a midfielder anymore.
There have been a lot of capable midfielders there, especially now that they have brought Tchouameni. It would be very good if they looked for an additional striker instead of a midfielder.

I admit that Barcelona are very serious about strengthening their squad, but like you said there is no guarantee Barcelona will achieve success
in the next season. Because Xavi has to make Barcelona players work well together and especially new players can quickly adapt to Barcelona's
game. Achieving success can't be instant, it doesn't mean that Barcelona brings in many quality new players, so Barcelona will easily win trophies.
Agree. Barcelona may be stronger after they have some new players. But it doesn't guarantee anything, no guarantee to win any title in the next season. I also believe that it won't be easy for new players to adapt to Barcelona game style. They need time to play with their best because they play with different tactics and teammates. Sure, nothing to achieve instantly, it needs a process. Let's see how Xavi can make new players adapt well.

The problem now is how long they will not look at their finances and continue to spend as usual.
This will be a ticking time bomb not to mention with guarantees like you said because regardless there is no guarantee if they add to their pounding power they can win considering that Madrid are currently in a phase that is clearly better than them.
What I can say for Barcelona at this time is that they are gambling by risking the next seasons in the future because as long as they buy expensive players and big salaries it is clear that this will hurt their finances more and more.

I was really disappointed to see a player like Koulibaly to leave Napoli for Chelsea because management weren't able to keep him in his team.

Also from another part I'm glad for him because if he want to win something he have to leave Napoli, that is a team managed in way to let his owner earn as much as possible.

But in this case Napoli also benefited quite a lot with the money received from the sale of Koulibaly and even I see even though in this case Luciano Spalletti wants Koulibaly to stay at Napoli but it looks like he is also ready to lose this player because there is really nothing he can do if indeed there is the lure of something interesting and the guarantee of a bigger Champions League

There hasn't been much news about Messi at PSG so far, and it doesn't seem like the media are too interested in the rumors about him this season especially about the future. I read one of the news in the local sports media that PSG might make a new contract offer for Messi until 2024, that is a good thing to hear even though Messi actually has the opportunity to leave PSG for another interested team. him at the end of his contract.
Because the possibility is certain that he will stay this season, so no matter how strong the speculation is, not many people will be interested.
Of course we are also talking about his salary which is big enough so which club can match him at the moment and even if there is, would Messi want to. This also showed that he would definitely endure so that no matter how strong the rumors were, things like this would be debunked by themselves.

The problem is he doesn't want a pay cut at the moment, he agrees to move to any club but doesn't agree with a pay cut which makes it difficult for other clubs to want his services.
Indeed over the past few seasons I still feel that his performances have been below average which makes it difficult for Neymar and it's clear the higher ups there don't want this kind of performance at the wages and costs PSG have paid for him.
I don't think he wants to go to "any" team, because if that's the case, I am sure Newcastle would be willing to pay him what he wants, wouldn't they? I seriously do not know what their offer was, but they have way more than enough to get Neymar, in fact they have enough money to get 100 Neymars and it would still not make a single dent in the owners wallet, dude has like 300+ billion dollars networth give or take.

In the end, we are talking about something that would make a bit of a persona choice in that matter to make that stop, and Neymar probably wants to go to a team that would fight for something. Probably a team in UCL for example.
This is a different story if it was Newcastle who made an offer.
In this case if you look at the finances it is quite clear they can afford it, but does Neymar want to spend time there? I don't think so at the moment because even though Newcastle are rich but still they are still in the middle position now and even that is only this season because the rest are at the bottom.
Neymar is a voter but money will not be enough because popularity is also very important.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 13, 2022, 08:33:20 PM
The Bayern Munich team is strong and their performance is stable. As a result, no team can beat Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title fight. Bayern Munich has already prepared a strong squad for next season. And the Bundesliga title will undoubtedly be won by Bayern Munich, as Dortmund are now quite weak after selling Haaland.
The problem is that in terms of players, no club in the Bundesliga can match Bayern, so it will be very difficult for them to compete there.
As for the Dortmund problem, they are still quite strong, especially with the arrival of Haller, because if we look at Dortmund, the reference is not only Haaland, but also to say that being competitive, it is clear they are not strong, especially their focus is not on the championship.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 13, 2022, 07:26:10 PM
It is actually very ironic. But I have to say he was a lot overhyped, and that led Manchester United to buy him for such a big amount of money. But he did not perform well at all in Manchester United. If I remember correctly, he did have some good times but that did not last long. I am just happy that he is back at Juventus and I hope to see a really effective performance from him at Juventus. And this is more likely to happen because he does not have too much pressure on him that he had while playing for Manchester United because of the money.
pogba says "Juve is my home and I feel much happier here". We'll see what Pogba can give Juve after he didn't make a big contribution to Manchester United

many who support the return of pogba to juve but many also doubt the performance of pogba at juve. I myself really doubt the appearance of pogba at juve Undecided
Things like this are bound to happen, regardless of what Pogba's move has given him a pretty big impact, especially with his free transfer, of course there are pros and cons there.
Performance issues will still be a matter of speculation until he can show his action when Serie A starts later.
But indeed there is great hope for Juventus at this time, especially with the recovery of Chiesa, Dusan who last season was the top scorer and the presence of Di Maria and Pogba in midfield.

AC Milan will release Castillejo to Valencia on a permanent transfer status. This will be Gattuso's reunion with Castillejo. According to some news that I read, this move was also a direct request from Gattuso to AC Milan. Perhaps this is what makes it easier for Gattuso to sign him. There is no information yet on how much the transfer amount will be, but everything is almost done, the agreement between Milan and Valencia has been completed, just waiting for the official announcement.
Yep, he left with an early termination agreement because his contract was supposed to expire in the summer of next year but agreed to leave with termination as a free player there.
This is also an advantage for Milan because this early termination of the contract can make the club not have to pay severance pay.
On the other hand, I read other news because if this is true, it is reported that Valencia also has the potential to get Mario Balotelli although this is still not clear.

With the salary burden applied to Neymar is very large indeed it will be very difficult for other teams to bring him from PSG unless the team is really good from a financial point of view.
Newcastle so far still want Neymar but indeed I also feel not too sure about this because it is definitely not Neymar's choice unless their money can melt Neymar heart.
Right now, salary burden is surely having big impact on transfer of Neymar otherwise few clubs still want to bring him in their club specially I have name of two or three clubs, but they want some cut in this salary which is not happening if he wants to enjoy some better in the game surely he needs to do cut as right now Newcastle United and two more clubs can do offer for him which could be good for his future in the game as right now he is having many issues in PSG specially with management and two-star players of PSG also having problems with him as well which is not good for his future at this club.

His most time in PSG lost due to injuries and then having not better results is another problem for him here, so if he tries to join any other club where he has better time then surely he can improve his game which could be helpful.
992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: July 10, 2022, 09:22:56 PM
First of all, I don't expect Neymar to go anywhere at this point. His current wage is too high for all the rich teams to accept. Maybe Newcastle would still try their luck with him but I don't think that he would like to go there in the first place. The remaining rich teams wouldn't pay a significant amount just to sign him too. So Neymar is staying as it seems and Galtier wants him in the lineup too. If Neymar doesn't have a season with serious injuries I expect a bigger contribution from him which is going to be important for the Champions League.
With the salary burden applied to Neymar is very large indeed it will be very difficult for other teams to bring him from PSG unless the team is really good from a financial point of view.

Pogba is indeed a good player but during his time at Manchester United, he did not make a good contribution (from the statistics that I read, during 6 years at MU, pogba only made 29 goals from 232 MU matches), to be honest this is a bad statistic. lets hope at juve he plays well and does not disappoint.
Pogba isn't a forwarded to be asked to score goals in every match, he is a central midfield player who sometimes plays as defensive or attacker midfielder. He is asked to assist his mates to score, find a way to control the midfield and regulate the passes from the defence to the offence smoothly.
His overall performance dropped these seasons but he might start again good with Juve. He was kind of frustrated with ManU, especially this season.
This is true because indeed with Pogba's current position scoring goals is a bonus considering his main task is to maintain the midfield and make the circulation of the ball in midfield run smoothly.
His performance at Manchester United has indeed decreased a lot but that is not a reference, especially now that he is at Juventus, it is clear that there is something that will be interesting.

But it's quite difficult now, even if they are still trying to bargain but I think the result will still be the same and Barcelona must also be aware of their financial strength now.
It would be better if Barcelona didn't have high expectations for this, regardless of what will happen for them next season I think they should know that bringing in more players will only add to their problems.

As for Lewandowski, it is almost certain that there is no club that has an interest in him again.
Few days back a strict announcement from Bayern Munich sporting director maybe it's shut up call for Barcelona which is already having serious troubles regarding their finances and right now they are working on this, but results are not positive because debit is more than their income, and it's going to be dangerous for them in near future if they are not going to work on this and trying for buying players which is the problem for them instead of having any relief.

Bayern Munich is very strong in finances and right now they are working on few players to be in their squad for having more strength which could be helpful for them in coming season as they are also going to face some challenges from Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga and Champions League which is going to be more entertaining with few strong opponents.
In this case Bayern already know their financial capacity and there is no need to sell Lewandowski and hold him until he becomes a free agent which is good enough for them because they are not short on money.
But today I saw reports that Barcelona will make a new deal with Bayern and have already prepared around 50 million which will be paid directly.
It looks like this will be a new chapter in Lewandowski's drama.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: July 09, 2022, 08:51:12 PM

They already have some great strikers like Messi, Neymar, Mbappe to Icardi. Don't they think they will be wasting their money by signing Scamacca from Sassuolo? Or maybe they intend to invest in Scamacca because of his young age (23 Y.O) Huh Even if he moves clubs later, hopefully he doesn't move to PSG, because maybe he won't get game time there. That's why I prefer if he plays for Newcastle Roll Eyes

FYI, here's an interesting fact about Scamacca, he hasn't played for Sassuolo again after his first loan to Cremonese. That means almost 5 years Scamacca has not played with Sassuolo.
It should be noted that when talking about Neymar and Messi now they are not young, especially for Messi who now only has one season left in the duration of his contract.
Icardi is indeed capable enough to be there but if we look at now even though he is a striker position but it is not uncommon for him to be played as a second striker at PSG and maybe they want to start regeneration by buying new, younger players even though it is with his move here doesn't guarantee Scamacca will be in the main squad.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 09, 2022, 08:32:38 PM
There is no rumour available about Lewandowski to Barcelona anymore if I'm not mistaken. I checked Transfermarkt and there was none. It seems like Bayern Munich's determination is going to help them out this summer. They are very likely to keep him until the end of his contract for now. However the summer is long and I'm still leaving the door open. Maybe Barcelona would somehow find a way to make this transfer real but I'm losing my faith for now.

Bayern have to fill his place because of Lewandowski's willingness to leave. Ronaldo can still play ball at that level. I don't see it as a situation against Bayern's structure. What I would criticize is: Bayern Munich is a simple team in the champions league. And if they lose the star in their hand, they can't show any success. Winning the German league is no longer an achievement for Munich. Their goal should be the champions league. If they call themselves the big team.
Supposedly, a statement from Bayern's top brass some time ago was enough to prove that Ronaldo would not be brought to Bayern regardless of whether Lewandowski was there or not.
They've said they're not interested and I think that means that having Ronaldo there or not they're confident enough to get into the season.
Actually the possibility is closed for Ronaldo now with Bayern so can't give any speculation about him and Bayern.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: July 08, 2022, 03:18:23 PM
As far as I've heard rumors Christophe Galtier is interested in keeping Neymar on the team for at least one more season. Maybe he wants to use the trio of Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe properly. Neymar's performance last season was not good because he was injured for a long time at the beginning of the season. I think we will get better performance from Neymar if we don't face too many injuries next season.

Immediately after the appointment, Galtier said in an interview that he was interested in Neymar and considered him one of the strongest players, so these are not rumors. I think that's the consensus view of the current state of affairs: PSG can't get rid of Neymar so they have to work with him (after all, he's not bad enough to just put him on the bench). But if PSG finds an option for Neymar to leave the club, I think the management will do it and Galtier's opinion will not play any role.
Even if they want to get rid of Neymar but at the moment there is still no club that really wants Neymar.
For some time ago there were Chelsea and Newcastle who wanted Neymar's services but I think this will only be a rumor considering Neymar's salary is quite large which makes me not sure that Chelsea or Newcastle will want it.

According to the news I read, Milan signed a 1-year contract with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Sorry, I said wrong. The great king Zlatan Ibrahimovic accepted Milan to his own world for 1 year. Smiley Zlatan Ibrahimovic could have chosen leagues where he could make more money, but he chose to complete his career at Milan, choosing to become a true legend. He is not talked about as much as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but we are witnessing the career of a legend.

The news was see a few days ago and there are slightly different points in the contract agreement, even though it is said to be a season extension but in reality Ibrahimovic will only serve half a season, because half a season is his time recovery from injury. He is expected to return to the field early next year.
He seems to have followed in the footsteps of Paolo Maldini and Filippo Inzaghi, choosing to end his career with Milan and become part of AC Milan's history.
There is a written agreement between Zlatan and Milan and even though it says his contract is one year but as you said, they will only focus on the last 6 months contract and for the initial 6 months contract Zlatan will still be in Milan uniform even though he is still injured but his salary will be different with 6 months thereafter.
Actually it's still good and I think both have their advantages for both Zlatan and Milan.

It is interesting news that Chelsea can enter the race to sign Frenkie de Jong too while Manchester United are still making a big effort to have him. Chelsea are thinking of making an offer like Azpilicueta + Alonso + 51 million pounds for de Jong. This probable offer might change things about this deal significantly. Barcelona's priority would still to keep him of course.
In this case it is quite good but I think it will indeed be difficult in terms of De Jong.
Barcelona being quite funny in De Jong's contract, They are trying to sell at a high price but on the other hand they also want to give up their debt in a sales agreement and expect the salary arrears to be paid by a new club that wants to own him.
