9801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the Best coin in 2021 on: July 22, 2021, 04:37:38 AM
Hello Guys, can you tell me which is the best coin in 2021 to take maximum profit and gain?? Plz give your opinion
Coins that are in the top 10 seem to be more suitable for you to buy. Because in my opinion, the coins are stable. Among the top 10, Ethereum is still the best in 2021.

Name one coin in the top-10 list that is not overpriced (obviously after excluding Bitcoin). And one more thing. Out of the 10, three are stablecoins which are not suitable for investment (Tether, USD Coin and Binance USD). And after removing Bitcoin, that gives a total of 6 coins - Ethereum, Binance Coin, Cardano, Ripple, Dogecoin and Polkadot. Out of these, only DOT is currently having a market cap of less than $25 billion. Most of the other coins are still close to their ATH levels, with market cap in tens of billions of USD.
9802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA World Cup 2022: Qualifying Games For Qatar on: July 22, 2021, 04:24:15 AM
I did not know that now FIFA wants 48 teams or nations to enter the World Cup, I hope it happens, the truth seems very good to me, because also the case of South America is the strongest soccer tie on the planet, the teams to qualify have to get in. The first 4, the 5 enters the repechage phase with Oceania, the truth must increase for both Asians and South Americans, most South American countries fight to the death for that position, normally the ones that immediately classify the most are Brazil and Argentina for its high level of football, in fact the only country in South America that has not been to the World Cup has been Venezuela that has never had such a privilege, in addition to that the show would last much longer and that translates into more football, which is not it's not bad at all.

I feel bad for teams such as Venezuela and Ecuador. They are very strong teams, and can easily defeat Asian teams such as Saudi Arabia and Iran. But unfortunately they belong to the strongest Confederation in football (CONMEBOL), and that makes it almost impossible for them to qualify for the world cup. And even for the 2026 World Cup, FIFA hasn't increased the number of teams from that Confederation in a big way. For 2022, they had 4.5 slots, and this has been increased to 6.5. For comparison, Asian teams have been increased from 4.5 to 8.
9803  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go down below $20,000. on: July 22, 2021, 04:13:28 AM
The level of adoption is so huge this days compare to year 2018 so we shouldn't expect that we can see the same scenario at that year. Provably if bitcoin will go under 29k for sure it will be a shopping spree for whales since they see the potential is so huge and this can get more adoption to other country maybe this year or in 2022 Upwards. $100k target will be achievable soon so its good to be prepared when that time happen.

The support levels are quite strong at 29-30K. Look at what happened when Bitcoin dipped below the 30K mark. There was a buying spree and the prices soon recovered to $32,000. It looks like a number of whales and institutions are waiting for even lower prices, to accumulate BTC. If the prices start recovering (say to $40,000), then these guys will realize that their low targets are no longer possible. They will either purchase at higher prices, or may shelve their plans to buy Bitcoin. Anyway, the market conditions looks very conductive for Bitcoin.
9804  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC is helping out Cubans and Venezuelans on: July 22, 2021, 04:03:59 AM
This would be perfect for women in Saudi Arabia, people in North Korea, some people in china, in any place where government is dictatorial would be perfect example of this and would definitely help. I personally think that people will eventually realize this, but it will take their governments taking more and more rights away from them and fiat price would drop even more, inflation should be a lot more.

Bitcoin is not suitable for such purposes, because it is not an anonymous currency. Each and every transaction is recorded in the Blockchain and it makes easier for the authorities to track down the users and prosecute them. On paper, you can use DEX platforms and P2P exchanges to trade your coins, but even these avenues are not 100% safe. The point you convert your BTC to fiat, it no longer remains anonymous. And all it takes is one such transaction, to trace back all of your cryptocurrency dealings.
9805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 💰 Summer Tokyo 2020 💰 Discussion and bet thread 💰 Summer Game 💰 on: July 22, 2021, 03:51:30 AM
Some events are already in progress and we already have a big surprise.

USA women soccer team lost versus Sweden and this is big surprise.

I don't understand this. How they can start any of the disciplines before the official start of the Olympics? The Olympic Games starts from tomorrow (23rd July), but from what I can see, the football tournament started two days prior to that. And it is supposed to end by 7th August (one day before the official closing of the Games). One reason may be that too many teams are taking part. In the men's competition, a total of 16 teams are competing and the group phase alone will stretch for more than a week.
9806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tokyo 2020 Men's Olympics Basketball Tournament on: July 22, 2021, 03:40:14 AM
Spain is always a tough competitor, they are the silver medalist in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics behind the US team and they could meet the US in the finals I hope the US team got their act together here in the Olympics after those bad exhibitions games they've shown, the US is still the gold medal contender because they are the defending champion.

Along with Serbia and France, Spain is one of the strongest contenders from Europe. And unlike the other two, they have been somewhat consistent in their performance (Serbia failed to qualify this time). The Spanish side has some of its players taking part in the NBA and that experience helps in international basketball. I am talking about players such as Marc Gasol, Juan Hernangómez, Willy Hernangómez, Ricky Rubio and Serge Ibaka. Even Pau Gasol is a part of the squad, although he retired from NBA in 2019.
9807  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: July 22, 2021, 03:30:39 AM
That's certainly true, mate. Current vaccines are no match for the new Delta strain (despite Pfizer and Moderna telling otherwise). A third dose would be required to prevent people from getting infected with the Delta variant. At the pace we're going, it seems that the economy will take a very long time to recover back to the way it was. Governments easing restrictions will have little to no effect over the economy if most of the population is infected. Health should be prioritized first so that money could start flowing again. How long will the world suffer from COVID-19 is a mystery. The more individuals and governments work together, the faster we'll be able to "tackle" the pandemic. I hope we see the light at the end of the tunnel with the last vaccine dose (and antidote/cure) that will be provten the most effective against all COVID-19 variants. Just my thoughts Grin

That doesn't mean that the current bunch of vaccines are completely ineffective against the Delta variant. Here in India, a recent study showed that both the vaccines that are being used (Covishield/AstraZeneca and Covaxin) have more than 80% efficacy against the Delta strain. But the bad news is that in a country of 1.4 billion, the chance of the remaining 20% getting infected would translate to tens of millions of deaths. And not everyone have reacted positively to the vaccination campaign. There are still a lot of people who refuse to take the vaccines.
9808  Economy / Economics / Re: On Cuba and economy on: July 22, 2021, 03:21:08 AM
That's because everything is state owned and privatisation is a problem there because if you don't abide to the communist regime, your business would be dismantled or worse taken over by the state, I think that the lack of investor foreign and local is what's causing the bad economy of Cuba. Hopefully they can get out of this dictatorship because these people deserve freedom.

Cuba is the classic example of how socialism works. Fidel Castro came to power by promising wealth redistribution. And he kept his promise after getting power, by seizing all the privately owned businesses. The previously wealthy upper class suddenly found themselves on the street without any money and the only option left for them was to immigrate to Florida and some of the other US states. A few decades later, these refugees have become one of the wealthiest demographic groups in the US, while those who remained in Cuba to support the socialist policies are now some of the poorest people in the globe.
9809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 22, 2021, 03:10:13 AM

Anyone noticed a cryptocurrency exchange (CoinDCX) sponsoring Sri Lankan team, i was surprised to see that because it was an Indian cryptocurrency exchange and ceased to operate when the RBI circular came out in 2018 and it looks like they are back in full swing to sponsor a cricket team looks awesome.

CoinDCX is sponsoring the Ireland cricket team as well (they are playing a home ODI/T20 series against South Africa right now, and next month they will be taking on Sri Lanka). Given the popularity of cricket in India, they know that a majority of the viewers for the matches involving Ireland may come from India. Also, I have seen ads from exchanges such as CoinDCX and CoinSwitch Kuber while watching live matches in Hotstar and Fancode. These ads are still being banned from Indian television, but they seems to have worked around a loophole to show them in the online streaming platforms.
9810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 22, 2021, 03:00:28 AM
Bangladesh has been unbeaten so far in this tour, as they have swept the test and ODI series. I don't expect any upsets during the T20 series as well. Zimbabwe simply doesn't have the capability to take on test nations at this point. Apart from a handful of players such as Taylor, Muzarabani, Burl and Raza, they don't have international quality squad. On the other hand, the Bangladeshi players haver performed well - especially Shakib al Hasan, Liton Das, Taskin Ahmed, Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah.
9811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are all altcoins dependent on Bitcoin? on: July 21, 2021, 05:11:38 AM
BTC is not the foundation of altcoins because altcoins have its own usage and market value. Bitcoin has the highest value altcoins thats why if its price drop or increase it will affect the other altcoins as BTC is the main crypto currency in the wolrd.

In theory, altcoins have their own unique usage. But in 90% of the cases, they are just used as a mode of payment, or as a store of value (especially with stablecoins). And with so much competition in the payments sector (and where the recent growth is minimal), there is a lot of overlap between the altcoins and Bitcoin. Since both of them are used for the same purpose, the exchange rates will also remain closely linked. On top of that, the user profile is also very similar. It will be very difficult to find cryptocurrency users who exclusively use either BTC or altcoin. In the vast majority of the cases, they will be using both.
9812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are meme tokens dangerous or moon on: July 21, 2021, 04:57:48 AM
Well i dont see the any reasons that could explain that meme tokens are going to the moon. The last pump is only because the tweet from someone famous like elon musk. There is no value behind it and even vitalik butterin just happily sell it and make it dump so hard. I do believe many meme coin are useless and you should not invest on it cause it pretty dangerous, most meme coin have an anonymous developer which i dont think good cause they might be run away and also not credible enough to take as a reason to buy the meme coin.

If the pump just results from a single tweet or support from a celebrity, then it is not going to last. The situation can change however, if some of the promoters take an active interest in the development and make the coin acceptable to ordinary cryptocurrency users. And in case of Dogecoin, I am yet to see any such effort from their part. The promoters and large holders seems to be blinded with the sudden influx of wealth that landed in their hands, after the 100x bull run they had in the last 12 months. They are least bothered about the long term survival of the coin.
9813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Convince me that bounties paying in anything other than Bitcoin are worth it on: July 21, 2021, 04:29:32 AM
Bounty hunters are always at the receiving end whenever a project fails. All of their time and effort put in to the campaign goes to waste, if the project fails to achieve the soft-cap level. This is why previously I had proposed a minimum payment (can be very small like BTC0.001 or 0.01 ETH) for the bounty hunters irrespective of whether the project manages to achieve the soft cap or not. But then, the ICO promoters are going to oppose it, because it will add some financial burden. But look at the overall numbers. If a project is targeting for a soft-cap of $50 million, then they should be ready to spend at least 0.1% of that to the bounty hunters, right?
9814  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC has fallen below 30,000. Is there still room for appreciation in the future on: July 21, 2021, 04:15:32 AM
My opinion is that there is a good chance that Bitcoin can go down all the way up to $10,000. That would mean 85% drop from the ATH levels reached earlier this year. But back in 2015 and 2018, we had similar dips (exactly at 85%). The vast majority of the users remain bullish and they remain unprepared for extended phases of correction. In the near future, the exchange rates may resume the bull run and may even attain a new ATH. But before that, the prices may bottom out, at a certain level below $30,000 per coin.

Suresh Raina just started a huge controversy in Chennai, during the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). He casually said that he is a Brahmin, and therefore he could adjust in a better way with the Chennai Super Kings and it's players/staff. Twitter users from Tamil Nadu were furious, given the widespread hatred against the Brahmin community in that state. IMO, there was no need to create such controversy over a casual comment. CSK is owned by a Brahmin and a majority of the Tamil players from that state are Brahmins. Raina would have got the impression that Chennai is a Brahmin dominated city.

9816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tokyo 2020 Men's Olympics Basketball Tournament on: July 21, 2021, 03:52:26 AM
If we check the record from 1992, it can be seen that the United States has won gold 6 out of 7 times. That gives a probability of >83%. The only occasion when they failed to win a gold was in 2004 (Athens Olympics), when they finished 8th in the group stage, and then lost to Argentina in the semi-finals. The 2004 team was perhaps the weakest ever sent by the US, but even in that tournament they managed to defeat Spain. But looking at the squad they sent to Tokyo this time, I believe that the chances of an upset (similar to what happened in 2004) is minimal.
9817  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and middle class as a mentality on: July 21, 2021, 03:42:28 AM
They're not payments, they're tax credits which offset taxes owed, which means you only get them if you have income in the first place and they reduce the amount of tax you pay.  You can't have 0 income and just get money for having kids under the program.  Also, the US under taxes to such an extent that nobody has a "large majority" of their salaries taken away in the form of taxes.  You have to be an extremely high income earner to even approach 50% tax rate and live in an area with multiple levels of high tax rates.  In other words, you built a strawman argument of a situation that exists very infrequently in reality, and in the specific case of people paying a "large majority" of their income in taxes, not at all.

Even in case they are tax credits, there is a need to have a maximum limit on the number of children who can be used to avail this benefit. I would limit it to a maximum of 4 children. It is not fair, for the American tax payer to subsidize someone with 10 children, while an average tax payer family struggles to afford 2 children. And the proposed plan from Biden (American Rescue Plan Act of 2021) is not just limited to tax credits. It includes Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) as well as direct cash payments. The latter group makes for the majority of the expenses.
9818  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: July 21, 2021, 03:29:49 AM
If I'm not mistaken, this was called Social Ending. Can you imagine how scared scared people were when the first local transmission occurred in your country? No one wanted to go outside, the road was very quiet, people were really following the rules while also being scared of the virus. Now, imagine people are not scared anymore. Because they are losing money, the government wants to open the economy. They want to open the economy because their funds are insufficient to sustain the people. When the Delta virus struck our country, only the areas where the virus was detected were placed under lockdown.

Before the second wave here in India, the governments tried to portray COVID 19 as an infection that would cause harm only to those who are above 60-70 years of age. And in many cases, it was true also. Because for the original strain, the mortality was measured at <0.10% for the age group below 30 years. But that changed with the arrival of the Delta strain, which had a much higher mortality rate for the young and middle-aged people. Also, it was much more contagious, and you could be infected even if you are wearing a mask.
9819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 21, 2021, 03:10:06 AM
Winning a match like this is truly unexpected with lower order batsman (actually bowler). At some point I was thinking that India will loss the game but Deepak Chahar just nailed it! It was a close match like Bangladesh & Zimbabwe second ODI. Both team had equal chance to win the game during death overs. I think India will get an easy victory on the 3rd ODI match.

LOL.. who would have imagined that Deepak Chahar would top score for India (with the bat)? I don't want to take anything away from Chahar. But Sri Lanka has a lot to introspect, if someone like Deepak Chahar is scoring at a rate of 10 runs per over against their mainstream bowlers. The only exception to the carnage was Wanindu Hasaranga (10-0-37-3). And this is how Sri Lanka performs against an Indian side, which lacks many of the top players (they are currently based in England). Sri Lanka is also missing most of their regular players (due to completely different reasons), so it gets complicated.
9820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 21, 2021, 03:00:03 AM
With a strong batting lineup England has even though all of their players are in the team they will win easily, Pakistan surprised with one match and that is more than enough to expect from them and in this match England only need 61 runs to win in 54 balls with 8 wickets in hand and if Pakistan had a potent bowling lineup they once had then i might have given a chance but not anymore.

Although they managed to win only one match, none of their defeats were one sided. And that gives them hope. Pakistan has performed at a level much better than teams like Sri Lanka and South Africa (which recently lost an ODI match to Ireland). Outside the big 3 + NZ grouping, Pakistan seems to be the strongest team. And in UAE/Oman they usually have home advantage, because when Pakistan was unable to host matches, UAE used to be its home venue. But do they have a chance to win the world cup this time? It's a difficult question.
