Only if you are a legal entity, f.e. exchange. Not in a context that any citizen using btc = terrorist i guess this is just part of regulating bitcoin exchanges, which is a good thing... once all the laws are passed and exchanges are in full compliance that should be a big weight lifted. |

While everyone is busy talking about Charlie Shrem's arrest, no one seems to notice the REAL reason for the market plunge. That is, 3 hours ago Bitcoin was officially banned in Russia. No English language news source yet, but Russian newssites are all abuzz about it: http://bitnovosti.com/2014/01/27/bank-rossii-ozvuchil-poziciyu/Use Google translate, everything is quite clear. Everything is banned, including mining, exchanges, transfers and payment processing. Each company accepting Bitcoin will be automatically charged with "supporting terrorism". Russia wins the dubious distinction of the first country in the world to officially ban Bitcoin (unlike earlier Thailand myth).  |

there is just way to much happening right now for stable prices poeple are panic selling on news that will get old fast, mean while everyone and his mother is hodling fait waiting for "cheap coins". stable bitcoins at 5-6 million a coin, until then we buy the dips and smoke cigars  |

I don't think that bitcoin dies. It could get very sick and fall prey to panic so that it seems on the verge of death, but not complete oblivion. There is value to the protocol and the blockchain. There has to be value for the miners to continue. Have more faith, but don't count on untold riches either. Yep, I had several OK withdrawals in last few days so I even called it bullshit earlier today here when someone said there are delays, but from 3 today, the last one went missing.
Believe me, this is gaining momentum, there's 10,000 BTC in limbo right now. No ETA on when this problem will be fixed. It appears to affect larger transactions so anyone making small withdrawals won't be affected so much. check the #mtgox IRC channel, current rumour is that Mark has done a runner. Sounds like FUD to me though. My one that is missing is not that big, 10.84 BTC It's FUD, of course about Mark, people talking bullshit as usual. Do you think Mark is smart enough to know when it is time to pack it up and call it quits? What's more likely, Mark liquidating gox in an orderly fashion or running off with the last of the coins? Liquidating it on legal way, yes, there is possibility. Running off with the last of the coins, no, he is smart enough to know that he won't enjoy that money for too long. fuck, lets hope he isn't crazy enough to run. |
