9821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how much amount of bet you prefer? on: November 06, 2016, 03:48:40 PM
I think it doesn't make sense to name the sum but it is better to give some percentage. But which should we give? From monthly salary? Or from all the money we have? I am not a big gambler, fortunately, so for me it is fine to gamble around 0.01% of monthly salary, I think. Hope this sum won't increase with time. Undecided
9822  Other / Off-topic / Re: Average Age of Bitcoin users on: November 06, 2016, 03:45:57 PM
That's good to hear, though it isn't necessary for all ages to get involved with bitcoin. Would love to encourage them to join. Bitcoin does help everyone.
I think that many ages are already involved. I am 19 but people I know who use Bitcoin are around 50, actually, whereas many people of my age are aware of Bitcoin but never actually used them in the real life. Maybe it is because in my country you can't use Bitcoin for many things.. Only investments, I guess. And online shopping, of course.
9823  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: November 06, 2016, 03:42:22 PM
I recently paid for some local tacos using Bitcoin. My friend who was unfamilar with Bitcoin thought it was strange, like I technically didn't pay for them or something. We got into discussing Bitcoin and one of the questions he asked me was:
"Why would you want Bitcoins instead of cash?". For a second I didn't know what to say; then I thought about it and here is what I came up with. Feel free to contribute to this.

1) More security (especially if you are careful).

2) Bitcoins are a potential investment, cash is not. Paper currency only really goes down in value, Bitcoins have a lot of potential to be worth more as time goes on.

3) Fast, worldwide transactions at your fingertips.

4) Similar to #3, but it's a universal currency. It's legal in most countries of the world and you don't need any kind of currency conversion to send money to people in a different country than your own.
There are some places in the world where you can buy tacos using Bitcoin?  Shocked
That's amazing!
As for your list, well, I agree with 1,2 and would also ad that it is easy to earn it. Fast transactions? A lot of people say they are actually slow if we talk about situations where there are many people in the queue, for example. And Bitcoin is not legal in most of the countries. I think it is rather out of the law.
9824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What stops you from opening a local bitcoin exchange business? on: November 06, 2016, 03:37:32 PM
Well, there is one such place in my city already. And the business is cruel, so I don't want to get in trouble. And there aren't many people using Bitcoin here, so I don't think it is very profitable. Moreover, this will count as illegal business in my country, because Bitcoin is out of the law and you don't pay taxes. Oh, and I guess in my city those who use BTC are mostly drugdealers, so I don't really want to have some common things with them.

I know that posts in this thread don't.
9826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the future of online gambling? on: November 05, 2016, 12:00:41 PM
I think that it is quite doubtful whether Bitcoin can become the main currency to use in everyday life but it is very likely to become central for online casinos. Firstly, because it is easier when there is something universal for people from all countries to gamble. Secondly, bitcoin and casino have a few things in common. They are both mostly illegal or on indefinite law status and they both involve risk, because yu can win or lose in casino and BTC price can grow or go down.
9827  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: November 05, 2016, 11:57:23 AM
For true devotees of Bitcoin, the price of the digital currency is almost irrelevant. They believe in its inherent value or, more frequently, cannot see any value at all in the alternative of government issued fiat currency. Price is therefore not a concern. At the other end of the spectrum, for those that harbor what appears to be an irrational hatred of Bitcoin and anything to do with it, the exchange rate also matters little. They were screaming that it was all worthless when the price was at over $1000, and somehow convince themselves that an exchange rate of over 200 times what it was before that bubble proves their point. For the vast majority of people somewhere in the middle, however, the price of the currency in Dollar, Euro, Yuan or whatever terms is important.

Just like you said. "For true devotees" it might be almost irrelevant. But who are these people? If the price doesn't matter then they just keep BTC and don't use it to buy anything? Because if they do then they would still compare the BTC price with USD and it would matter whether it costs $200 or $300. For me price totally matters, because I use Bitcoin to pay for rent (I exchange it to local currency).
9828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening to bitcoin ? on: November 05, 2016, 11:53:05 AM
Before Cloud mining sites last long but now they are quickly turn into scam. This began After Halving how sad.
Is there no legimate investment site this days ?  Undecided  Undecided
Is that so? I am not into mining but I thought there were some official pools with guarantees and so on and that the problem is that you can't earn much there. As Bitcoin mining becomes harder with time, people want to find something which is still profitable. Thus they become trapped by those who offer them a lot and give nothing.
9829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling problem on: November 05, 2016, 11:48:04 AM
There are people who gamble to become rich and there are some people who gamble to get entertained. The problem comes when both the types of people get addicted and can't make up their mind to quit gambling. It becomes a part of their life that they can't live without. I don't know what to suggest to them. They should try harder to quit and have a disciplined approach to gambling.
I think that those who try to get rich are in a worse condition than those who just entertain themselves with Gambling. And yet both are addicted to it. I think they need to turn their energy on something else they might enjoy. Play football, for instance. And yet Gamling is not the worst thing and is in fact quite nice in comparison to adrenaline seekers, for example, because when you gamble you at least are not likely to get killed.
9830  Economy / Economics / Re: USD vs BTC on: November 05, 2016, 11:43:50 AM
No, bitcoin is no more popular than the US Dollar. We all already know that bitcoin is still popular and many people do not know bitcoin. In contrast to the US Dollar which greatly affect the price of other currencies. US Dollar is very well known to many people even around the world. US dollar is still more popular than the bitcoin.
I can't disagree with that. Certainly, Bitcoin is now less popular and, by the way, a lot less legal then dollar. However, we may say that it is potentially more popular then dollar if we believe that the era of bitcoin will come in the near future along with death of USD.
9831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I did not understand something with the Bitcoin on: November 05, 2016, 11:41:05 AM
Well, we are all aware that Bitcoin can suddenly drop the price. And yet I think that we just believe that it won't happen. Sometimes yo win and sometimes you lose. It is okay till there is this balance. Oh, and if you have around 1 BTC then it doesn't matter much, I guess, because you still have around $600.
9832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: November 05, 2016, 11:33:41 AM
Most of people answered that it is trading. But what is meant by the best source then? By mining you get some new Bitcoins. By gambling you may win some of already existing ones. By trading you may exchange something for Bitcoins. By working for Signature Campaigns you can get them as a salary. If we talk about the most profitable source then I would vote for Sig Campaigns, because you can't lose anything by working there. If we talk about big amounts, though, this won't help and you have to make investments or gamble.

9834  Economy / Gambling / Re: New in Gambling, Need Help! on: November 03, 2016, 11:41:18 AM
Hi everyone,

I'm new in gambling category and I want to risk my luck. May some suggest a gambling site that play fair with the users. I got 0.5 bitcoin here. It's better if you can give a tips how to win. thanks in advance
The best tip we can give you is to quit gambling as soon as possible when you are still not addicted to it. It is really impossible to win here. I mean, it is, but eventually you still lose. Risk your luck in some other way. Although, if you are rich and it is fine to lose 0.5 for you - then it's okay. But you better decide now that if you lose this amount you won't try revenge.
9835  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC keep rise again... on: November 03, 2016, 11:37:14 AM
Bitcoin is rising. It is good for those who keep money in it but not very nice for those who pay emloyees in Bitcoin Undecided
And we have to be careful with this rising, because people can start buying more and so the price will go down again. Although, I am not sure there is much thing we can do about it.
9836  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: November 03, 2016, 11:34:26 AM
I think it is impossible. If one currency becomes close to being a monopolist - another one shows up. Globalization is not possible without some localization processes. People start to return to local culture, traditions and thus to their own currency.
But if there still happened such a thing - I think some countries will be able to control the system and so it would be quite a totalitarian world.
9837  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to manage money? on: November 03, 2016, 11:31:24 AM
So I have seen a lot of topics relating to different methods of managing money ("How to earn Bitcoin, "How to save money") and the likes. Now I would like to see what are the best ways people can come up with in regards to managing their money. I find creating a budget is one of the fundamentals of managing money. If you have no records, you can't know exactly how much money you have to spend each month. Another piece of advice I would like to give to people is to not use your credit card unless you're able to pay it off in full at the end of the week.

Any input?
I have a strict system of managing money. Firstly, I have different types of money (I mean, money to spend on different thigs). I have money for food, for pills, for rent, for transport expences, for holidays. Money for food is a fixed amount I can spend per day. If I need to spend a bit more then the next day I spend less. Money for pills, rent and transport expences is a fixed amount per month. Money for holidays is the money which is left and can be saved or spent on cafes and some other expencive for everyday life stuff. Different types of money are kept in different places not to mix anything. I find this system helpful. Oh, and I withdraw nearly all the money from a card, because it's easier for me to use cash/
9838  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: November 03, 2016, 11:24:57 AM
We have to realize that we can't ever predict the future for sure. Even if we have seen some action and another one going after it regularly we still can't be sure this will happen again. So now we see that planned halvings make the price go down and then it starts to grow after some time. And yet one day it might not start to grow. The probable challenges Bitcoin will face are: 1) unprofitable mining -> lower price; 2) new inventions ruining the whole system; 3) becoming legal and thus depending on some countries + additional taxes.

9840  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin as religion on: November 01, 2016, 08:40:54 AM
I think Bitcoin can become a part of religion or some mystical knowledge, at least. That reminds me of Pythagoreans who admired numbers and thought of them as of entities, constructing our life. So, Bitcoin can't become a religion as we usually understand it, with God, Hell and Heaven. It can rather be thought as some Principle which is regulating relations between people and some ideal thing (number) being extremely important for physical life.
