9841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a legitimate concern that Chinese miners dominate the Bitcoin network? on: July 18, 2016, 01:42:09 PM
http://thelibertarianrepublic.com/is-china-cornering-the-bitcoin-market/

Quote
This April, when an American delegation went to China to discuss proposed changes in the Bitcoin protocol in order to make processing transactions more efficient, the Chinese Bitcoin companies were able to veto all the proposed changes.  Their motive: by slowing down transactions they are able to collect a kickback from those willing to pay for faster processing.

I heard this from several sources. I was listening to a podcast on NPR, and although most of the podcast was so misinformed it was hilarious, they mentioned the same thing.. that Chinese miners are against scaling solutions so they can force higher transaction fees.

Is this true? I would think the Chinese miners have more incentive than anyone else to allow bitcoin price to rise. They are they biggest holders, and a price rise to $2000-$3000 will gain them more profit than forcing transaction fees on a congested network. The idea of purposely hampering growth for short term gains sounds foolish as a miner who are the biggest stakeholders.

The free market isn't perfect, but the miners should have all the incentive to not restrict adoption, or to scare people away via a congested network.

What is your take on this?

Also aren't all the Core Devs American and European? So, there's a balance? Heh

Here we can see that Chinese are quite powerful but I don't think we can say for sure that Chinese dominate.

Im curious  because im earning 0.005 per day , Im curious if it is a bit low. If it is a bitlow i will find another way to earn bitcoin again
I guess it's okay, because I earn 0.004 per day. Is it this signature campaign of yours which pays really nice or is it something else you do?
9843  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin rose to $1M, what you do? on: July 18, 2016, 01:34:03 PM
Well this will affect lots of people and might suddenly be hard to get bitcoin for free since it's price is too high.

Yeah if price reaches to that level then it would be really difficult to earn it as even small earning can give us huge returns but I don't think we will ever see that high price.
I agree, there won't be such a price. Lot's of people will become suddenly reach which will lead to the inflation (even if it did rise to 1M$)
9844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Does it have a POSITIVE IMPACT on your life? on: July 18, 2016, 01:32:05 PM
Btc changed my life, allowing to earn money here, but I voted for "yes, a little bit", because it's still not enough to make a living
9845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ready for bitcoin halving? on: July 18, 2016, 01:30:34 PM

9848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From 1 Bitcoin to 100 Bitcoins - what would you do then? on: July 18, 2016, 01:26:25 PM
I would pay for my sister's education, buy a flat, travel somewhere and try to keep around 10 000 untouched for something in the future
9849  Economy / Speculation / Re: After Weeks of Price Stagnation, BTC Price Seems to be Moving Up on: July 18, 2016, 12:57:16 PM
That's what I was saying! Btc overcomes the halving and those who were writing it's going to die were wrong
9850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where can I keep my BTC during the halving? on: July 17, 2016, 05:48:37 PM

9851  Other / Archival / Re: . on: July 17, 2016, 05:46:01 PM
What is the best way to earn Bitcoin? Are faucets worthwhile or is there an easier way? How much can I expect to earn?

9852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Really End World Poverty? on: July 17, 2016, 05:44:34 PM
Can bitcoin really do anything to solve world poverty problem? Brian Singer certainly think so. He thinks that Bitcoin can bring minimum everyday earning for people more swiftly than any other economy system.

Is it possible?

I agree. Many people have access to the Internet and can earn real money working for Signature campaigns

9854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: no faith in bitcoin (ddos) on: July 17, 2016, 05:42:16 PM
Why would I trust a coin that drops in value massively when sites selling it are getting DDoSed?

this means it has no credibility at all, people can choke it with DDoS and then short it over and over again

too bad, it was a good coin
And yet people do trust it, which is good for miners and btc users)
9855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: July 17, 2016, 05:41:26 PM
For me it was actually my father talking about this stuff about Silk Road from the news

9857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can disappear? on: July 17, 2016, 05:36:06 PM
I don't think btc is a scam. However, it can sort of dissappear if people stop mining and using it
9858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Gambling is Fun? on: July 17, 2016, 05:34:17 PM
