9861  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 22-Nov-2017] on: November 25, 2017, 09:59:58 AM
Thanks for this list!  It helped me see that while I don't qualify for any yet,  I will soon!  Smiley

Until that date you might wear the Karma-Signature.
They offer it for Newbies, too.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2273926.0

Good tip.  The first sig campaign I was offered years ago I think went on for an entire year and it was a raffle for a Bitcoin.   At year start it wasnt worth even 100 dollars and by year end it was over a thousand so everyone wanted to be in on it by then but it was too late to join.   Theres something to be said for going with any quality company or project you can read up on even if its theory not the best terms or your rank is new so its limited.
These token offers are difficult to judge, which is funny because now BTC has become the gold standard and we have a vast array of followup crypto standards of all descriptions.
I just found out my old October campaign had changed the terms after it had already finished without messaging people or even notifying the campaign manager and a deadline was laid down also so now they dont pay as promised.   Seems very unfair to me, quality counts considerably  Undecided
9862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: November 25, 2017, 09:32:10 AM
Well i cannot get it to hash above 1450 h/s no matter what i do  maybe doing something wrong but cannot  find out what
also it will not mine  Electroneum no matter what i put in the bat file
so think im gonna send the card back and  knock this miner on the head
1450 isnt terrible.    You need to state your clocks and volts really also temps can get out of control and I think this can lower hashing.   These cards automatically detune themselves from best performance if not all three conditions are met.   Roughly I would say 80c or above on HBM2 sensor could be a problem or negative to hash rate.
I havent fully tried yet to follow that guide, just idly trying I got 1300 with another 220 from a 8 core xeon cpu I got for $70 secondhand which isnt too bad either.

I have 2 of the powercolor 64s, both have hit 1100 memory stable, both running at -30% on the core, +50% power and do 2020 to 2050 hashes each. Using 120W core so about 150ish total. Which is nice.
You do need watercooling on the 64 to get the best stable results. On Air the hash rate dropped to 1800ish when running for a while due to the HBM getting to warm.

Has nobody found the additional memory clocks of 1200 on the later drivers to be of help ?   If hashing is all about memory speed wouldnt this be worth switching away from the special compute driver.      Water does seem a big help to stability, unless we got miners in Alaska or somewhere similar

9863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ENRG]Energycoin - Android Released - Bittrex - on: November 25, 2017, 08:59:18 AM
A massive wave from Energy project is coming, i expect a lot from this concept, everything is include.
Is this project still under development?
I remember it was years ago when Energycoin was airdropped.
I mush still have some coins in my wallet.

Just to reply I was there also in 2014, this is the same blockchain but its been developed more since then.    You should always run the proof of stake wallets actively, its not like bitcoin and you receive a stake or mining revenue from being an active part of the ENRG network.   That is how is supposed to be used, alot of people are kind of missing out on an exchange holding.  POS requires active users.
I dont think the old wallet works, it will need a new one but make copies to try updating your old 2014 Energycoin and it'll pass on through to the 2017 ENRG wallet which is what I did a while back.   Let us know on the new thread
9864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.1 (Windows/Linux) on: November 25, 2017, 08:46:39 AM
I have 5x RX480 (Saphhire Nitro +) with Blockchain drivers and custom BIOS. I'm limited to 1000W power.  I'm currently mining ETH + LBRY but I have some wierd errors. GPU stops every few minutes and then starts again... I tryed lowering dcri but no help.
Now my settings are:

Clock: 1050
Voltage: 950
Memory: 2080
voltage: 950

Can you tell me what settings on GPU do you use for this combination?

I think others have replied to this but just to add my tuppence worth, I think you are sailing to close to the wind with a 1000 Watt PSU and dual mining. It can depend on the PSU you are using, I have a 1000 Watt EVGA Gold (6 card rig) and it worked OK at over 1000 Watts (long story, but put a quick stop to that as it is not recommended). If your rig works OK mining other coins then you are probably over stressing your PSU, remember the rig will take a little extra when it first starts up and if the GPU fans start to run at higher speeds. I found dual mining too stessful for my poor cards.
Get a power monitor and check exactly how much the rig takes from the wall.

Depends on the quality of the PSU and allegedly the ageing of the PSU also reduces its capacity (I think the pace of ageing depends on type of use also).  The rough estimate is about 10% a year so a rough calculation for 6 years of PSU use would be 1000 (0.9^6) = 1000(0.531441) = 531w

Ive wanted multiple PSU setups for ages and its more common now, probably an old deal on servers.   Ive never heard of a PSU tester though, somebody knows no doubt
9865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] 💪 HERO | CLOSED. CAN CHANGE SIGS! $ 2,000,000 RAISED on: November 25, 2017, 08:13:48 AM

Where is the form to formally claim the signature bounty, should I just write via email to notify of my place on the spreadsheet as a member at the end of the campaign  ?   I had a look at the website but under bounty it just says its closed and I could not see further action I could take.
Could anyone say what action they took or the email address they used to communicate ?  Thanks for any help

From what I remember I believe the use of PLAY was due to a naming conflict with another project, hence HeroPLAY

The form is closed already. You had 2 weeks time to claim your Tokens, now it's too late.
You can write an Emai to info@herocoin.io but I wouldn't expect to be an exception.

I wrote an email and received a response which isnt especially clear on if they intend to pay or not.    Where did they change the terms that require us to submit tax information or whatever it is Ive failed to do ?   They have my contact details but I received no information about my new requirements to receive payment.  Is it my fault for not knowing they have changed the terms after the campaign close,
I dont see any change to the OP that would let people know.   I see a message saying payment will be made, I double checked my wallet and other details and I took that as we signed up the terms would be followed.   Is Sergei.Gerasimenko no longer involved and thats why we're ended up alone sorting this out and company communication has failed letting members know despite everyone being on a forum nobody got a message or at least I never did.

They could change the thread title, that'd be a big sign and its very easy to do but no change was made, no pm sent, no info via the OP so the fault is where?   I missed this vital information and its a really bad look for a new company to fail in communicating something simple like a deadline, an attempt at clear communication or a settlement of some kind would be best.

Have a conversation with devs. We've found out that there was a misunderstanding between us in a very beginning of the bounty.

Only first 60 activities in social networks will be counted.

I want to apologize for this disinformation.

BOUNTY IS CLOSED! OVER $2,000,000 HAVE BEEN RAISED! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SO HUGE SUPPORT AND FOR YOUR FAITH IN THIS PROJECT!

EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN SIGNATURE BOUNTY CAMPAIGN IS FREE TO CHANGE THEIR SIGNATURES!
BOTH FB & TW SPREADSHEETS WILL BE UPDATED WITHIN 24 HOURS.

ALL OF YOU HAVE 3 DAYS TO CHECK YOUR INFORMATION IN SPREADSHEETS AND TO CONFIRM IT OR CHANGE.

ON 20th OF OCTOBER 14:00 UTC I WILL CLOSE ALL SPREADSHEETS AND SEND THEM TO DEVS.

CONGRATS TO ALL OF US!

BOUNTY WILL BE CLOSED TODAY AT 22:00 UTC

MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE WRITE ALL POSTS AND DONE REPORTS TILL THIS TIME. IF NOT - YOUR WORK WON'T BE COUNTED!

THIS WEEK WILL END ON THE 16TH OF OCTOBER 18:00 UTC WITH THE END OF THE ICO. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RECIEVE 40% BONUS FOR THIS WEEK.

So I did everything I was told to do, is there a prompt to change to details somewhere in 177 pages of replies that I missed and hence the blame is mine for not knowing, thats a really poor way to change the terms after the fact.
9866  Economy / Services / Re: twitter bad follower removal on: November 25, 2017, 07:47:22 AM
Since I can't purchase twitter audit pro because I don't use any of their payment options, I just do it manually. I block accounts which I think bot or fake by looking and checking their profile, profiles who don't have a profile picture; no description; no single tweet.
But twitter audit pro, can help you to detect and remove fake accounts, as almost users using their auditing service.

I usually do it manually because bots spam my notifications with rubbish they want me to look at and pay for their site.   An easy tip to catch bots is to sticky one of your own posts at the top of your profile, but headline this post please do not like unless a bot.  You will find the bots dont read the warning and everyone who likes the no like post is a bot and an empty account (or full of false activity) trying to sell you something.  These type do usually have a profile pic, sometimes naked pictures etc for cam services or whatever is being sold

9868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] WORDCOIN | FINISHED | SIGS CAN BE CHANGED! on: November 23, 2017, 03:56:17 PM
When will the coin be on exchange? or is it there already?
yes wordcoin already added on etherdelta, you must add contract addres on etherdelta, but the price is under ico
I'm not sure I know how to do that, usually every other coin is just there.
Is there a way to follow in order to see WordCoin on etherdelta?
Thanks Smiley

yes on etherdelta. wordcoin price is $0.024 lol
you can check it here https://etherdelta.com/#0x607fb630f2ddf7aeb1a207d7cb6ba6ec9f10c308-ETH
wordcoin contract address 0x607fb630f2ddf7aeb1a207d7cb6ba6ec9f10c308

Im not familar with how to use that site, which token acronym would wordcoin be listed under.

I have not received payment either just for anyone checking up on progress in that regard.   As far as price I would say these things take time to develop properly, its an investment in an ongoing business setup as I understand it and the big gains I imagine come in time.   Thats how investment works, speculation is far more rapid but they need details to go on for any big gains.   I have noticed ETH itself gaining about 20% recently, pretty big and maybe that puts pressure on tokens Im not sure how this particular altcoin economy works out
9869  Economy / Currency exchange / Im a seller on Local Bitcoins since 2013 on: November 23, 2017, 03:20:32 PM
Primary currency is Sterling but obviously also crypto
Im a seller on Local Bitcoins since 2013 and a long term forum poster here but have not really advertised on Bitcointalk.org that Iam willing to sell Bitcoin on demand so Im just correcting that mistake in a small way by starting this thread for anyone interested.

If you require liquidity I can also deal Valve steam items to some extent especially CSGO keys and gear, Steam games and keys along with POS coins, computer parts are a possibility.
I dont deal loans or credit at this time                      _
I dont advertise or deal 24/7 but Im around quite often and for a few years now a regular poster here and elsewhere and if we deal regularly I'll add you as trusted to enable further access.

Especially if you are an older forum member I'm hoping to make buying selling a little bit easier then it might be otherwise, let me know if I can help out   Smiley

https://prohashing.com
Professional x11 and scrypt mining pool
Prohashing is a profitable x11 and scrypt multipool that pays miners in any coin.

http://steakcloud.com
supports pooled minting as well as an unlimited number POS and POW mining options, our market leading Multi-Pay™ system is changing mining forever.

2 pools Im interested in if you feel like supporting them, they pay out in staking coins like Blackcoin which pays a yield on the wallet balance.   Also very cheap/fast to move which I find useful
9871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.1 (Windows/Linux) on: November 23, 2017, 12:18:53 AM
I tried this out, installed it and left it running on the default batch file for a while which I presumes donates to the dev some. I not yet sure of the best settings for Vega but seemed to work easy enough.  Old school mining we did there was switches in command line to pin down various clocks which worked best, havent checked yet if I could do similarly

I'm not a linux guy but trying to learn it more so for the linux guys does claymore's clock settings work in ubuntu 16.04 with amdgpu-pro drivers I'm thinking of switching my rigs over my only concern is overclocking and if claymore works with eth mining great but what if I want to switch to monero

Linux is also supported for Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v10.2

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=638915.0

Quote
This version is for recent AMD videocards only: 7xxx, 2xx, 3xx and 4xx, 1GB or more.

There are builds for Windows x64 and Linux x64. No 32-bit support. No NVidia support.

command lines are posted at the start of Thread

Thank you thinking I'm going to give Ubuntu a shot plus I hate the extra crap you have to go through to stop win 10 updates and Microsoft tracks your every move there's no privacy with windows

For updates you stop the update service to halt the constant code spam windows gets in bandwidth and disk activity.  Win+R > services.msc > windows update > startup type > disabled.   Ideally a quarterly update could be done instead all at once but not sure thats an offical thing.
So far as privacy there is the ability to switch off the various trackers microsoft leaves in there, I believe it was a requirement by the EU that this be made possible.  Similar to how every website you goto now asks you to waiver their cookie usage and so on.
If you google iobit and use that util it clears up alot of stuff including a 'winfix' util on their sub menu for this kind of thing.  Probably other utilities specially to do this or guides out there but thats the one I know as it removes clutter optionally for a smaller install space
9872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 22, 2017, 11:38:48 PM

First I connected the vega 56@64, installed the driver, then replaced it with 64, I think it's somehow related. After rebooting hashrate drops to 2000 and that would get 2500 I need to remove the driver, insert the vega 56 and so on

I cannot reproduce ... I swaped rizer cables between my flashed vega56=>vega64aio and native vega64aio. Speed stays the same, 2k for v56 and 2.07k for v64
I do not understand how this works. It looks like a combination of magic and drivers.
Sometimes its the sequence of the clocks and reduced voltage and power limit that allows it to go more stable then normal.  I find if I suddenly switch from low clocks to a completely different setup its more likely to crash, this might be because of SOC clock not allowing the higher memory.  I sometimes notice SOC has come way down below 1100 so even if I increase voltage to try higher memory speeds it doesnt like it as SOC is a limit generally.   It might require to have intermediary profiles to gradually raise the clock before it can be left stable.

Also turn off all windows graphical effects if you havent, leave it on high performance.  an open web page is not a good idea also

9874  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: November 21, 2017, 01:59:45 AM
I was reading about self made billionaires behind the payment systems that Apple use and it seems relevant to the worth and propagation of bitcoin.     There are far more services and products sold without bitcoin then any enabled by crypto and if everything was available by crypto it would actually pose a problem.     Crypto lacks the systems that Fiat and online companies use to make payment easy, cheap and secure to process.

So it continues to be the case that even with a 10,000 price, the utility of Fiat currencies is not easily in reach of Bitcoin at least.  Maybe a different or sidechain to bitcoin, hopefully protocols continue to adapt and no one sees a price tag as success.

Seems there is big changes happening with energy efficiency and distribution, I have heard of big drops in cost of Solar power before but not to this extent.  It could be a game changer for long standing arrangements and ways of providing power especially in areas a bit more isolated then major cities I think.

Here is video of a talk for anyone interested : https://youtu.be/fwSkQa1tNmE?t=453

^^ Great Info that is how alot of BLK was got back in 2014 and its probably an even better idea now because of the problem of fees and moving relatively small amounts earnt from mining     Majority of people didnt mine BLK at the start and alot was sold to others on market anyway as it was new and nobody ever knows how long a coin will go, seems a good way to get some BLK now.   I'll be taking a look, thankyou for the heads up
9877  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its possible bitcoin going down under 7K this weekend? on: November 19, 2017, 04:17:31 PM
Hi guys, Today bitcoin reached 8K, but now is in road to 7K, its good time to buy?

i'll be waiting by yours answers, thanks

I see a symmetrical wedge pattern above 7448.  So we are looking for a break of that pattern for a significant change to price to occur.    All that means right now is that its clear that price is reducing in its range, its becoming more focused before exploding up or down presumably.

I think the standard interpretation of such a pattern is to say a continuation of trend.  Obviously Bitcoin has been rising and so long as we stay above 7448, confirming above on a 4hr candle then its bullish now.

I would not guess below 7k this weekend but as far as buying we move emotionally to a sell off quite often in bitcoin and I would just wait for China to announce something negative.  BTC is global so its not about 1 country and really the sell off needs more of a reason then that.   But China is big and it'll drop under such negatives, that could be said to be something of a buying possible opportunity.   Right now its just a case of a staircase, we step higher generally
9878  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit $8k in December due to CME on: November 19, 2017, 10:05:45 AM
The price will definitely get bumped up by this, and will generate a lot more publicity for bitcoin. As the saying goes any publicity is good publicity. However, i just don't know how this will influence the pricing in the long term.

I'm not a fan of futures trading or high leveraging.

Basically a recipe for market manipulation, especially on such a large scale market.

I dont think its certain because price rises in anticipation of events like this.   Buy the rumour, sell the news is the famous saying which probably fits this also.    CME adds leverage to BTC involvement possibly and maybe a wider audience Im not sure, I think its just speculators not as much investors who take a contract this way ?

The other thing is that it might add sellers who want to short Bitcoin.   This is easier to do in dollar denominated assets then bitcoin which is inherently resistant to leverage, Im not sure but its not a one way street.   With volatility I think CME requires greater amounts of deposit to match positions in any contracted trade, so we might see more selling from this or greater trends then previously.

The reason I commented really was to say to OP, $10,000 not 8,000 is more like a correct target if much real effect is felt by the market.  People might have an idea of IPO and a vast influx but my guess its quieter.
The other scenario its just a paper setup and not much actual difference in trade volume is observed ( this year)

Gold is always liquid and available capital even in the worst circumstances.   Thats very useful if otherwise insolvent.  Allegedly bitcoin is not as resilient so lower value should be attributed in asset terms, price and value of course are not always the same which leads to speculation in free markets.   The point in common between the two is they are not fixed or controlled like dollar
