9901  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoins will disapear or become unused? on: December 17, 2015, 11:25:24 AM
I don't think it's possible for this to happen.
It's only possible if governments ban bitcoin completely to the point where you can't use it anymore.

No matter what nonsense policies governments are throwing at Bitcoin, governments can't do anything to prevent people from using Bitcoin. Yes, they can heavily ban it. But still, they can't prevent people from using Bitcoin.

Even if all the governments force banks to close all bank accounts associated with Bitcoin exchanges and other Bitcoin related services. There are still plenty of possibilities to buy and sell Bitcoin. It's basically impossible to shut down or stop Bitcoin usage without shutting down the internet.
9902  Economy / Speculation / Re: Christmas Call: $700 on: December 17, 2015, 11:18:03 AM
I think the price will be around $500. The adoption of bitcoin will not increase that much to warrant a higher price.

If we look at adoption rate it shouldn't be worth more than 50 bucks.... ask yourself. Do you really know anyone else in your real life that uses bitcoin? I'm predicting you'll have to say 'no' in order to be honest.

I can agree with you that the adoption rate isn't high, but even at this "low" adoption rate it gives Bitcoin this value. And yes, a lot manipulation is going on. This price is just a temporary reflection of what the block halving will do with the price. I want to hear you again once the price is nearing $1000 somewhere in 2016. I'm interested in knowing if you then still think that Bitcoin shouldn't be worth more than $50.
9903  Economy / Speculation / Re: Christmas Call: $700 on: December 17, 2015, 10:55:21 AM
I can't see the price go much higher than $500 this year. Beside that, I am very happy if we stay at the current price level for the rest of this year. There are plenty of threads where people think Bitcoin will reach very high price levels this year, it's not going to happen.
9904  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcoin affects life a lot on: December 17, 2015, 10:25:29 AM
In 2013 and the beginning of 2014 there was a period where I was obsessed with day trading. I barely came outside or had contact with people at that time. Purely because I was staring all day at the price tickers hoping to profit from the price going up a few bucks. I am glad I stopped with day trading each day. It's a waste of time if you also try to make some bucks on days with low volume. Now I only do it on days with high volume and where there are some decent price swings. It gives me a much better feeling and I have time for other things in life. Life is more than only Bitcoin and earning money Wink
9905  Economy / Economics / Re: Open a bank account without many papers that will respect my privacy on: December 16, 2015, 11:26:48 AM
Thanks all of you Smiley

I am just looking for a way to deposit money with IBAN or maybe credit/prepaid cards to my account and then sent to online exchange sites a simple IBAN bank transfer to get some Bitcoins Smiley

Go look for several banks in stable European countries such as Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria. There are plenty enough options to choose from. Try to read their requirements for opening a bank account and find the one with the least hassle and the lowest fees. It will be a hard job though.
9906  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-12-15] Wall Street Determinedly Bullish on Bitcoin & Blockchain Technology on: December 16, 2015, 11:20:51 AM
The Wall Street coming to the bitcoin, that could be the reason for the recent price rise. The volume in Bitstamp is also higher.

No. The current price rise has only to do with the nearing block halving.

It's not new that Wall Street has a certain interest in Bitcoin or the Blockchain, or even in both. It's just a matter of waiting till they really go from saying it, to taking action to incorporate Bitcoin and make it tradable just like how you buy stocks. That would be a massive achievement and will make Bitcoin go sky high. The institutional traders will then be more willing to trade in Bitcoin instead of using "The Nasdaq Of Bitcoin" Gemini.
9907  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I do a one off buy or spread the buy out? on: December 16, 2015, 11:11:47 AM
Best is to never buy with all your money in one time. Do it 50% now, and wait what will happen. If the price goes down more, then you can decide to buy more if you want. If it goes up, then you can enjoy your profits Smiley

Gleb Gamow.
9909  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would happen if a group/person bought all the bitcoin in circulation. on: December 16, 2015, 10:39:50 AM
It's impossible, but let's pretend it did happen. All coins are mined, and this group or entity has all the coins. It's then basically the same as what is happening with all the shitty altcoins today. They will make it look like a lot people are trading and generating huge volumes, while it's basically a few people that do it. It will result in a coin that is being left and forgotten.
9910  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin worth to you or not... on: December 16, 2015, 10:33:05 AM
We all have some amount of bitcoins in our wallets..
Do you really think bitcoin is a currency Worthing you more than a real currency...

Bitcoin for online purchases and transactions is worth more to me than fiat currencies. That's a fact. In my daily life it's still fiat that is ruling with iron fist. In that case fiat is worth more to me.

I do because real currency price won't grow up or down as bitcoin...

If you mean fiat currencies don't have as much volatility as Bitcoin, then you're right. But that's also the main reaso why average Joe's still use fiat instead of Bitcoin. Stability for them is the most important aspect.
9911  Economy / Economics / Re: Open a bank account without many papers that will respect my privacy on: December 16, 2015, 10:23:56 AM
Hi

I am looking to open a bank account outside of Greece to avoid capital control limits so i can get payments there and then to be able to sent them to online exchange sites so i can buy Bitcoins Smiley

Is such a service exist? It will be great if they don't ask a lot of papers and don't reveal a lot of my personal info.....

Thank you

There are several European banks that will allow you to create an account even if you don't live in that country.

I can tell you right away that there isn't a bank that won't require to fill in papers, email them ultra high res scans of your id or passport, proof of where you live, an electricity bill where it is clearly showing your address or any other bill. There will be a lot paper work involved. It might take several weeks at most to get a working account after all the hassle you have to go through.

And what do you mean with: don't reveal a lot of my personal info.....

Each transaction that you do with your bank account has your name sticked to it. If Greece authorities want the details from the people that are having a bank/savings account outside the country, they will simply contact the bank in question.
9912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: December 16, 2015, 10:12:25 AM
Im holding not because of price increase. Im holding to make profit.

If you are holding to make profit, you're automatically waiting for a price increase. It's basically the same, isn't it?  Roll Eyes

9914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like Android or ios for mobile Bitcoin transactions? on: December 15, 2015, 11:12:25 AM
I am currently using an android smartphone combined with the blockchain.info app. Everything so far is working as it should, there is nothing to complain about Smiley
9915  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reached 450$ today. share your views guys on: December 15, 2015, 11:07:20 AM
Reaching $450 is ok. I have seen these prices plenty of times already, it doesn't do much for me. I start to get excited once we reach at least $600. All prices before that are just, mwehhh.
9916  Economy / Speculation / Re: why do you buy bitcoins? on: December 15, 2015, 10:27:04 AM
Beside buying coins for trading purposes, I buy Bitcoins if I have want to pay some one or if I want to purchase something. At this point I don't buy coins for holding them as I am already happy with the coins I currently have.
9917  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons for a possible BTC price decline? on: December 15, 2015, 09:43:08 AM
The most realistic dangerous scenario is when a fork doesn't work out as planned. A certain mining pool will go over the 51% mining share. I think that's the most dangerous for Bitcoin at this point. There are more scenario's such as a hacker cracking the private keys, but that's not realistic.

Maybe an end of world scenario -- satoshi dump all his coins to generate a crash.

Even if Satoshi is dumping his coins, it won't bring Bitcoin in danger. It will cause a massive massive crash, but the price will recover eventually.
9918  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Bitcoin's price after the halving on: December 15, 2015, 09:35:34 AM
We are already experiencing the effect that the halving has on the price. It will continue till the halving with a final peak somewhere before or after the halving. After that when things cool down, the price will come down too. I believe we can do an attempt to break through $1000 without much effort in mid 2016, but the real challenge will be the dumps that will follow. How deep will the price tank before it recovers.

After when things cooled down, we won't see much difference as when there isn't a block halving upcomming within a year. It will be a bumpy ride with from time to time very slow price movements, and from time to time a rally to keep you guys happy.
9919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $450 - $500 means many of us are now even or ahead on: December 15, 2015, 09:25:07 AM
I have have seen my coins grow in value from the moment I purchased them at $220 at the highest, and slightly sub $200 at the lowest.
9920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Only 97 nodes in china? on: December 15, 2015, 09:05:26 AM
Let's say the numbers that bitnodes.io (nowadays known as 21.co) are showing are incorrect. Even if you say, let's bump their total node count to 300, from the current +- 100, that's also nothing for such a large country where Bitcoin is quite popular.

It could be that they are hiding their nodes behind a VPN or something, otherwise it's quite weird seeing China is far behind.
