9941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 14, 2017, 02:29:32 PM
Vega 56 has the lesser numbers maybe because its memory is possibly slower.   However some can get past that problem, the 56 bios limits the voltage to supply HBM but some have changed the bios and so do not have this limit.   The main difference from 64 to 56 is just shaders which Im not sure is a great deal in hashing performance, Im not sure on that.    If the 56 can be set to 1100 mhz on the hbm2 then either model might not matter, mining will utilise hardware more then the games which are throttled in performance by the large texture data they have to move so conclusions declared for games might not correlate but for sure the cards are close
9942  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis on: September 14, 2017, 02:24:23 PM
Decent size fall, this is from Chinese news from a couple days ago I guess.   So its reset the action for this month and last but is retaining the highs of July.

Seems like ok looking action on 15m with spike down and then a base above that, 21000 CNY or above is a good start.  USD looks maybe more negative, lost a positive long term trend at 4000 which will take a while to recover I think and 3600 also a level to watch for which way a tide is turning.  Rise and confirmation above 3600 would be a start
9943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.0 (Windows/Linux) on: September 12, 2017, 01:12:14 PM
Whats the power draw on 480/570/580 at those hash just for comparison.   Per watt I dont think Vega is any advantage and considering its higher cost right now that would not be a upgrade so far as Ive been able to tell.
The 570 deal mentioned is not worth doing I agree.  I do consider all those cards roughly the same, you'd need to be buying up stock not swapping really for it to serve any purpose.

The nicest thing about Vega is the memory and sadly this advantage is capped even on the 64 unit, its not going far past 1100.    if they ever bring out a sequel like the 580 was to the 480 and altered this memory aspect that could be a big deal.  Its very possible they might, as vega is not considered very great competition to nvidia.   The memory chip count reduced by half from fury over to vega, otherwise we'd be seeing maybe over 50% gains to 60mh .  This is not the case currently, not easily anyway.

Can anyone list  the other miners they have tried with Vega besides this one with any comparison
9944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 09, 2017, 02:24:00 AM
I pray they dont force us to use wattman forever,  its like being on the bridge with Captain Kirk since over half these buttons are just for show I swear lol.

I think what I got was 130w and 30mh rate but  I prefer the higher 179w and 37.5mh and thats -40% power limit and -15% respectively.   I imagine rx580 is still the sweet spot but depends what stock is available to you.

39mh =1200/1100/183w @0%

xmr-stak-amd works with vega even though last release was June 1st ?
9945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ENRG]Energycoin v1.6 Mandatory Update MacOS avalable now!| Energyparty on: September 08, 2017, 08:06:11 AM
Thx for sharing!
Indeed time will tell.
We choice to make it broader than just energy and give each community/application their own tokens on EnergyParty.
Good news there are 36 nodes on version v1.6.0!
Only 3 on v1.5.1 so the hard fork shall be successful!
Then we can bring EnergyParty to mainnet!
Tomorrow we have meeting with a design studio helping us to design a new website!
Our new branding is on track and that is an important baby step in our roadmap besides launch of EnergyParty.

Have a nice day,

Jan

For some reason I thought it needed more of a conversion to do the mandatory update, so I was putting it off.     Actually in the end I just used the bootstrap files and it was straightforward, that also includes the larger nodes conf file so it connects fine and version 1.6.0 works fine from there.   I just mention this to anyone not bothering to upgrade, its not a big deal to do.

If you are uncertain where to put the files it can actually be put wherever you like even a portable USB.  Just attach -datadir=
just written after the end of your .exe.   If you create a shortcut, this -datadir= would be added onto the end of the target field or you can type it in manually in a dos box added on etc.
9946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BountyPortals] Error free, Transparent, Automatic & Fast Bounty Management on: September 06, 2017, 08:53:25 PM
I had no problem with the website speed when I looked.  Very good looking, I like the animation.   I dont think its too heavy, my link on this machine is not fast so it went through fine.
I signed upto the forum but Im interested in taking part in signature campaigns or possibly the wider bounty campaign.   Normally the Twitter or Facebook requirements are more then I have access to but I have 50,000 posts on various forums including this one and I can type 50wpm.   Possibly I could do French translations or general transcription work depending on the content, I'll check out the various details on the website but let me know if anything especially applicable to me is available, thanks Smiley

Would this work with Vega by default or need some special config to work at all  ?  Just interested in having a look really, how large is the install size required now ?

9950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BLK/BC) | PoS | No ICO on: September 03, 2017, 02:43:55 PM
3300 blackcoin will stake fine sure, two or three times a week maybe.  Not 100% sure because it depends how many take their coins into exchanges where it'll not be matched against you.  I'd say thats a decent amount to be going on with though
9951  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 02, 2017, 05:06:35 PM
The whaletail porsche might be my favourite shape even without the spoiler.   Im not sure most people should buy the classic 911 if just driving normally on a road, a modern car with various devices to aid control is probably more sensible.    If you live out in the middle of nowhere and can experiment then it might be a dream of course, I'm not a fan of modern cars that wont stop going bing all the time.

The bitcoin price pulling back to 4333 looks reasonable as a previous kind of ceiling and now support.   Call it bullish again when rising above 4730 and just keep watching till then as market decides between the two.   The previous 3622 remains relevant of course but the bulls are no doubt not hoping it is on the menu
9952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ENRG]Energycoin v1.6 Mandatory Update MacOS avalable now!| Energyparty on: September 02, 2017, 04:43:56 PM
If I run the wallet on Ubuntu desktop, where is it going to reference the energycoin.conf (I used the boot strap just not 100% on directory to leave it on non windows) .   I was hoping it was the same directory at the wallet itself or is the program looking elsewhere because I cant find it exactly.
Ideally when the program is executed it should be in a position to contact the network, it sits at zero clients currently which is where alot of beginners experience may end unfortunately.
Right now I've not got any further on that install though I'm persistent enough to hopefully figure it out, I think alot of the general population just need it to be one click and go ideally

If anyone records their desktop with whatever system they are using when doing a normal install, that'd probably help alot for the average person.  Of course some are ESL and video is helpful there too for clues

What do you think about this signature for Legendary, I thought it could be enhanced slightly or be more eye catching but Im not aware of the limits or code to do so

Where can I read more about LN integration? It is a good time for a good road-map placed in first page, so investors can have a clue what is going on. My conclusion is we here have only lacks of information's, someone should take responsibility to be a guide here. Such a good project just need a little tweaking in organization..

I think alot more discussion for BLK takes place on the slack forum rather then here so make sure to be signed up there.   Someone will send you an invite hopefully.

No problem and per your request I've updated my signature for this forum and I'll test the links to make sure they work as well.  Seems to be in order:

Hey when you noob you allowed some leeway, its worth a try right.   I would not imagine any big project revolves around this forum alone, though it seems an unfortunate occurrence
9957  Economy / Services / Re: BarterDEX Signature Campaign | Help us spread the word on: September 01, 2017, 01:58:06 AM
I'm looking for a longer term campaign but I'll join this on principle as I've lost in a centralised exchange and future failure could hurt us all in the image for crypto, so long as you can add BLK to your list of coins I'm happy to be on-board regardless of odds of winning , etc

Either way, I hope your exchange grows Smiley

Heres the thread for BLK, 3 years old very fast coin well suitable for fast transaction and inclusion in something like this I think:

Just said about translation if you wanted and various other details like facebook, twitter this campaign, thats allowed afaik so no idea.   I presume we are ok to join this campaign please let me know
9959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis on: August 25, 2017, 04:56:20 PM
Any analysis is only a guess or probability statement of possible future scenarios.    The outside world is far larger then bitcoin and we can be jostled upwards or downwards by wider events then seen just within our limited view.
If theres a good possibility for 7,000 on this years movement to continue I'm glad to hear it but its just a maybe.  Most people just look shorter term then that and the market itself is constantly readjusting itself as many people bail out and take profits every $500 or so as said above.

The channel for August on BTC Kraken is no longer active and imo we've been a bit more down or volatile since then though BTC stays strong.  I thought BTC quite strong this whole year compared to other years, obviously we had severe dips but its resilient is my repeated view.  The recent low was roughly in line with the trend since April

I would characterise BTC price as building more then with any objective, there are some levels overhead to climb above and then confirm as a base then we can come back and focus on movement especially continuing upwards.

Right this second - BTC has triple top in play  Kiss the sky

I'm just posting up the French translation for anyone who wants to pass this onto their French speaking buddies.  The link here is a plain text version but I can supply a word document if anyone wants just request it via pm.

If anyone has further need of French translation services I can provide that also in 7 days or so.  Just let me know and preferably with an example of the text to be converted.
