9961  Economy / Economics / Re: Where's my free money? on: November 06, 2019, 08:58:35 AM
I was promised [...] by McAfee

You have to have a bit more patience. In December 2020 it should be interesting: we will either be rich (Bitcoin over the moon), either be entertained by McAfee eating his own dick at TV.
I've also found a countdown for it: http://dickening.com/

I have high hopes at least one of the two events will happen.
9962  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance to Open Beijing Office Amid China’s Renewed Blockchain Push on: November 06, 2019, 08:34:37 AM
CZ is Chinese after all. If there's a chance he can get his business back home, he will do it. I guess that China is by far a country he understand better.
His runaway to Malta was a move he did because he had to, it was not about preferences.
So it's a quite normal move. The only surprise is that this is discussed this early.
9963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Testnet BTC Support on: November 05, 2019, 02:50:23 PM
we need something like 10 BTC

I'm not sure why you need so big number. For testing small values do work in the same way and for displaying you can adjust the code a little.
9964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Testnet BTC Support on: November 05, 2019, 02:42:51 PM
You can just google for testnet bitcoin faucet, find 1-2 working faucets and get some satoshi for your tests.
And when you have finished you can send them back. It should be faster than relying on "donations". The amounts may be small, but that's not important, right?

Edit: I've also sent you some coins
9965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [What IF] Part 4 on: November 05, 2019, 09:45:59 AM
What if you suddenly dreamed of certain things that let's you win the game on that dream, would you get a hold and keep that and wait until it turn out to be true?

There's a (small?) difference between wishful thinking and dreaming, although sometimes wishful thinking may even induce dreams on that subject.
But no, dreams are dreams, not reality. I would certainly not invest effort into trying to make true the things I've dreamed.
9966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone loses four Bitcoin on the Lightning Network on: November 05, 2019, 09:22:08 AM
1. That news is FUD: https://bitcoinist.com/4-bitcoin-loss-on-lightning-network-is-fud-says-community/
2. Lightning network is about transferring Bitcoin, and trading and transferring Bitcoin are 2 different matters. One trader doesn't necessarily make many transfers.
3. Lightning network is beta, so even if you do transfers, you won't use it yet (unless you want to do tests).
4. The event of losing those coins could have happened only if he was closing forcefully a channel. Most probably you won't do such tests.

So chill  Wink
It's FUD and even if it would be for real, it would not affect you.
9967  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there any reliable alternate for preev.com available on: November 05, 2019, 08:49:19 AM
An alternative with more coins is https://www.mycryptobuddy.com/CurrencyConverter
I've been using it now and then for more than a year and I can tell it has been pretty reliable. You just have to make sure the "socket connected" sign is green on the right side.
I even made a shortened url for it so I can remember it easier: http://tinyurl.com/preev2
9968  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bottom Has Passed, Delphi Digital Says on: November 05, 2019, 08:18:38 AM
Bitcoin (BTC) saw a boost to its volumes in October, especially during the last volatile week of the month. Delphi Digital suggests more active trading may suggest the market bottom is already behind us.

Afaik they've been saying in May that bottom has passed and they were right. Good.
But why are they telling the same after 5-6 more months?! Although somewhat reassuring, this is not news.
9969  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to understand 'conflicted' tx's on: November 05, 2019, 07:35:48 AM
There was a quite similar question in 2016 and the answer was to use zapwallettxes. You could take a look at that thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1330415
Also you should move your question into Bitcoin Technical Support, to get a better chance to get answers from qualified people.
9970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: November 04, 2019, 06:25:28 PM
Yes because here everything discussed is very important, not like other threads that only talk to each other without understanding their purpose and that is the main point.

I appreciate your sarcasm, we all know that some amount of spam/useless posts do exist here too, like everywhere. Let's just keep that on low levels.

What about all these rumors that privacy coins will be delisted from big exchanges? Was Monero or another known privacy coin affected, delisted?

There were exchanges in Japan that delisted Monero (one year ago?) and now OKex Korea and Upbit (also Korea) seem to do the same.
But they had pretty low volumes for XMR and I expect the listing at Bitcoin.com will outweigh the Korean delisting by a couple of levels of magnitude.
9971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Invest in bitcoin casino bankroll on: November 04, 2019, 02:42:06 PM
I highly support our thoughts. It is best to not invest in gambling related stuff. But still someone has decided to do this, he must not go with a startup. Established and renowned ones must be his choice. Instead of taking such risks, it is best to not do anything with your bitcoin holdings. Let them sit for a good duration of time and you will be making far more than what these bankrolls have to offer.

I didn't imply that it's best to not invest in gambling sites. Investment is business, not gambling.
Just one casino may go better than another, one may have bigger bankroll than another, one may have better management than another.
Like for any investment, doing the homework and acknowledging the risks is a must. Don't take it granted that if you lose money at a casino, the investors get a good month; it can be others having jackpot (maybe more than you'd expect), for example.
9972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dogecoin real or a meme? on: November 04, 2019, 02:31:31 PM
I still do not understand how meme coin become one of the most popular and the most used coin in the crypto history, maybe it is because of its true decentralization. By the way who is the real "CEO"? Elon Musk?  Cheesy
Dogecoin is very popular among altcoin traders, they rather trade DOGE/ALT pairs than BTC/ALT pairs.

It's a very old coin (2013!). So the first altcoin exchanges had it. The later ones have it because it was (is) used by many for faster transactions or for exchanging coins with very low price.
Its development has ended long ago. It  doesn't have a "CEO"; one personality tied to Dogecoin was Jackson Palmer, but he may have also left the boat many years ago.
Dogecoin had a great community and still has a pretty good one. And it used to be a cheap and good training ground to understand Bitcoin, because they are pretty similar in behavior (at least until SegWit).
9973  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the solution about CMC fake volume..? on: November 04, 2019, 02:17:43 PM
My morning starts with visiting CMC (Coin Market Cap). It's not only me, maximum people in this forum do that too i guess.

Mine doesn't. While I check the price (too) many times a day, the actual volumes don't matter that much to me.
But I don't day-trade.

Now about your problems:
There are plenty of 3rd party websites which may do a better or worse job in the matter. A link to them was already posted.
But (and this is what I feel it's missing) depending on the method an exchange uses to inflate the volumes, in some cases this cannot be noticed easily (or at all).
For this to be checked properly 3rd party audit would be needed, which nowadays doesn't happen (or it's not focused on fake volumes).
9974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: November 04, 2019, 08:05:55 AM
Mid term: BTC 35 000/0.000685/$24 or $20 000/0.0012. BTC blow off is uncertain, it depends on delusion level in market, it appears to be sobering slowly, in that case it is straight to oracle 3:

Long term: Flip event from top 5 to alt sphere, then it will break 0.002 BTC ATH. BTC itself stable between 8-12k. Possibly back to $200-1200. Waves from $68 to $2000.

So you say that Bitcoin will go to 20k-35k on medium term and then fall to 8k-12k on long term? And when Bitcoin is so low, WAVES may be even 2k?!
I think that you either missed something, either wrote it down incorrectly. An 8-12k on long term for Bitcoin is not sustainable (miners won't earn enough and may cause problems); and bad performance for Bitcoin usually translates into bad performance for altcoins.
9975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: November 04, 2019, 07:57:37 AM
impossible to write so much about the project

It depends on how old and how good the project is.
Just take a look on how much discussion Bitcoin brings (and just ignore the spam). Why would Monero not bring ... less than 1/100 of that amount?
Maybe you'll read more and understand that it's a good coin and the discussion around it is far from an "impossible" amount.
9976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 04, 2019, 07:51:04 AM
I can't say I'm a fan of Bitcoin.com and I can't stand BCH but it's nice to see monero getting listed on there anyway just so the n00bs see it when they get tricked into using that exchange.

I also don't like them, but business is business: at least now they offer a proper alternative to the n00bs that have BCash and want to dump it  Wink
9977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Are all BTC addresses really unique? on: November 04, 2019, 07:21:14 AM
No, you don't. You really have no idea just how large the numbers involved are. (It's not your fault; humans are notoriously bad at conceptualising numbers greater than a quadrillion or so.)

Imho the best way to make them understand is to show them this image; it helps people get a glimpse of the immensity of the numbers involved:

9978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dogecoin real or a meme? on: November 04, 2019, 07:15:23 AM
Dogecoin is a real coin, but it started as a meme-coin.
It has infinite supply, so imho it's not a great investment. But this doesn't mean the price cannot rise for various reasons, so please decide for yourself if you invest or not.
I guess that the starting point to learn about it would be: https://dogecoin.com/
The relevant exchanges that trade Dogecoin are listed at CMC: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dogecoin/#markets
Please do your own research, some (most) exchanges require KYC info. Most trade at Binance because this exchange doesn't ask for KYC under certain withdraw daily limits.
9979  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are you interested in having a prepaid card? on: November 01, 2019, 02:49:18 PM
How many people actually already have one and what do they like/dislike the most about it?

The way the questions are written is intended to fool your customers, but you'll be fooling yourself at the end. (So I didn't vote there).
I would be interested in pre-paid card, but only if the fees are significantly lower than what I have now (Wirex and AdvCash).
But from what I've read your fees are higher than the competition's; so I'm not interested anymore.
9980  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to avoid BTC related scam/fraud when selling thru PayPal on: November 01, 2019, 02:35:28 PM
Localbitcoins accounts may be bought, so I wouldn't trust that much even the history.
I've used only established exchanges until now (but I withdrew to bank or Revolut), but if this is not possible, as a second option, I'd go with the users vouched by @OmegaStarScream
