9981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Invest in bitcoin casino bankroll on: November 01, 2019, 02:29:14 PM
One of the common reason is that they aren't really that patient enough to wait up for profits knowing that investing on gambling bankroll isn't really that big for a return
unlike if you do just simply put a bet on a gambling site then you would possibly earn 2x of your money in a matter of seconds. So majority do choose this path instead on
considering making investment and you are right where people do have different choices since we do have different insights in life and ways on how to manage our money.

It's not only about patience.

I've invested in the bankroll long ago. I don't even remember which casino was it.
The casino was young, the total bankroll was probably small (bitcoin price was small too). My investment was also rather small.
However, when I've checked some weeks later, I was losing money. Maybe it was a mistake, maybe it was my lack of knowledge and patience, I withdrew my remaining money to contain the damage. I've never invested in bankroll again.

So it's a risky investment, which requires some knowledge, patience and money you afford to lose.

PS. Please don't compare investing with gambling. Gambling is not a way to earn money (because a good win vs lose ratio is obviously not guaranteed).
9982  Other / Meta / Re: Impeachment: Is Greg Maxwell the best choice for being a mod in bitcointalk? on: November 01, 2019, 01:11:29 PM
there is no such thing in the universe: a sect named honest Bitcoiners.

Bitcoin is ways more decentralized in terms of culture than in technology(exclusive client software, pools, ASICs) it is because of divergence, without divergence, there would be no bitcoin ecosystem.

So you claim that there are no honest people and then write some unrelated blah-blah about people having divergences? Really?
I'll stop. You are definitely trolling and I won't feed the troll any longer.
9983  Other / Meta / Re: Impeachment: Is Greg Maxwell the best choice for being a mod in bitcointalk? on: November 01, 2019, 10:37:39 AM
conflict of interests

From what I know, Greg's interest's are basically the same as the interests of any honest Bitcoiner.
So going by your logic no honest Bitcoiner would be OK for the moderator tasks.
9984  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yet another analyst on: November 01, 2019, 08:02:00 AM
Far too many seem to be expecting a bullish movement, but the last week was mostly losing on the price (which is obviously normal after the jump we had one week ago).
Week-ends use to bring "unnatural" movements on the market. Also some countries are in banking holiday today. Any bet for what'll happen this week-end?
9985  Other / Meta / Re: Messages That Deserve Merit in Turkish Section on: October 31, 2019, 02:46:06 PM
What you may need is some more merit sources for the Turkish subforum.
So I think that the best approach would be, if you don't want to apply, to convince somebody else apply; of course, it'll have to be somebody suitable...

Edit: If you take this responsibility and write the application, PM me to make sure I don't miss it; I'll surely support you.
Edit2: I am not sure it's 100% correct format, but well.. I clearly support the application.
9986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Game theory" free bitcoin question on: October 31, 2019, 01:48:03 PM
Actually all the first answers predict 0 spending with the highest 10BTC miners fee ) However let's look at the 2nd sitation ehere only 4 "players" are involved. Every player understands that it is better to negotiate. In case of negotiation with other 3 players, he could receive 2-2.49BTC. But in case of violation his personal reward tends to 0 BTC. Of course to scam others and receive 3.5-4 times more (9-0.5BTC instead of 2-2.49BTC) is better, but such scam could lead to actually 0BTC reward (because every other could also scam, and in transaction fee race the spending amount become 0). Considering these facts, it is better to make the negotiation between 4 players and receive some agreed reward. Why not?

Would you trust the others into negotiating? Would you have any guarantee that while pretending to accept the negotiation one of the four would try to send with higher fee to a (new) wallet the others don't know?
Imho a fair negotiation is not a valid option.
I expect that if proposed, everybody will agree to split. And then break the agreement. No one would know who broke it.
9987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: majority of blockchain project has lost focus on: October 31, 2019, 01:41:29 PM
why many of so-called blockchain projects these days are scammers, is this was motive behind the technology? many real investors are not confident to participate due to fake blockchain projects all over the internet.

what are your views

It's an unregulated market. If they manage to sell, they get some easy money. Some are willing to invest into such scams.
But beware, not all failed ICOs or worthless coins come from scam projects; some may have started with good intentions and simply failed. Also nowadays the altcoin market is so low you may mistake a good project with a failed one just because the volumes and prices have fallen a lot.
9988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Game theory" free bitcoin question on: October 31, 2019, 01:17:53 PM
[1] How much will be spent from such 10BTC address and how much will be the transaction fee to miner?

I think that the miner fee will be the highest miner fee one of those "spenders" will set before the "spender" block  is mined.
Everybody who knows the private key will try to send it to his own wallet.

[2] Suppose, that only 4 online anonymous to each other users have the access to disclosed private key. These users also could negotiate online.

As long as different people have the Private Key, any negotiation attempt has a high chance to be fake (one trying to "scam" the others). And we are back to point [1]  Cheesy
9989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptonization Fail ? on: October 31, 2019, 11:44:10 AM
Are all crypto projects listed on coinmarketcap used for speculation purposes only?

No. Not all, at least not from start. Just too many.
There are obviously a lot of projects with no substance, only to get money. This has become a problem and I see no good solution for it.
But there are also projects that wanted to get some money to start up: some got the money, some didn't, some used the money well, but most didn't. Some had success, some didn't. Some still have success, some are dead or dying.

Actually even the "honest" coins, with no ICO, IEO or whatever have also become subject of speculation, just because it's possible.
But isn't this something that also happens on stock markets and Forex?!
9990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where Can I exchange THIS coin(GOLD) on: October 31, 2019, 10:59:36 AM
otherwise if you can just PLEASE tell me where I can exchange (which website)

There are a couple of GOLD coins listed at coinmarketcap, but neither of them seems to be your GOLD.
The only advice I can give you is to ask the guys from your coin/website. There's contact form at the end of the page.

Edit: Almost certainly nobody will lend you money with this collateral, so you better move the thread to Altcoin discussions.
9991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China can easily launch a coin while Facebook is having a hard time on: October 30, 2019, 02:42:24 PM
What's your thought on this?

Comparing apples with oranges will return nothing relevant.

Libra is the project of some (western) companies; they have to convince regulators in order to avoid fines and bans in various countries. They want to work with Western banks, so they need to be clean.

The Chinese coin will be launched in China. They don't have to ask anyone what to do in their country, they are the government and the regulators there. And they are "the board" for the bank too. Whether the coin will be traded outside China is another interesting matter.

In the western world I expect the Chinese coin be either not traded, either be treated like Tether's little cousin. I think that FB wants more than that for Libra (!)
9992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto, here's an idea for you (if you are still out there): on: October 30, 2019, 02:24:44 PM
Would there be a solution to achieve this without KYC?

How (else) could somebody enroll for an airdrop if he doesn't know what Bitcoin is?
How (else) could you prohibit one person from applying multiple times for the money?
You'd need KYC and probably government help too for it. Good luck with that.
Also what will happen with the coins of so many people who still never used internet?!
Also how about the tx fees?

It's a logistics nightmare with no benefit.

As said, the idea has far too many flaws.
9993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you invest 60 BTC? on: October 30, 2019, 09:45:36 AM
How would you invest that amount?

60BTC is already priced to half a million Euro. Quite some money and Bitcoin still has plenty of room for growing.
So first of all, I would not put it into some custodian wallet promising whatever. Not your keys, not your money.
I'd think on a business I can start - whether is a business in crypto or not. Even buying one or more houses of apartments for renting is a business.
I'd spend some money and may hire a financial adviser. He may have ideas which didn't occur to me.
Of course, I'd still keep some Bitcoin as investment. Maybe invest in other things too. With such a wealth there are a lot of options to diversify, and by diversifying right I can always stay on profit.

Although 60BTC is quite a wealth, I would not afford to retire only with that. I have to do something to make it make more money. And unless you are already quite old, you'll have to do the same.
Bitcoin rising could be an answer. But I wouldn't rely solely on that.
9994  Bitcoin / Electrum / Tails 4.0 has Electrum 3.3.8 on: October 30, 2019, 08:47:18 AM
I am not sure if it's the best place for this, but I've just noticed that about one week ago Tails OS 4.0 was released.
I've done a quick check on it and it contains Electrum 3.3.8.

So after a disappointing Tails 3.16 (September) which didn't update Electrum, after quite a long period Tails had outdated / unsafe Electrum and the users had to learn to update it, now they are back on the right track and we get the current version out-of-the-box.

If you use older version of Tails, I guess that's a good moment to update!
9995  Economy / Economics / Re: What should I convert my money into? on: October 30, 2019, 07:36:34 AM
I know this is opinion-related topic and I shouldn't consider your answer as financial advice. Anyway I'd like to see what you think about it and what you would do. Even better, you could reason why you think this way.

This is a good start.
Now, you probably know that Bitcoin (and altcoins) prices variation/volatility is big. This makes Bitcoin an interesting investment if you have money you afford to lose, but not "safe" as "savings account".
Bitcoin price, on long term, should grow a lot. But there are big falls too and there's a risk that in the moment you need your money the price is lower than when you bought.
Of course, you can be lucky and get rich by buying Bitcoin and catching the best moment to sell. You or your kids..

Edit: I would probably buy Euro, Bitcoin and maybe gold too (although I'm not sure it makes sense for 2-400$)

9997  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 29, 2019, 11:17:20 AM
Nothing has changed because Pooh has embraced blockchain. That is still just a way to accumulate more bitcoin cheaply.

Something may have change: some people's expectations (and dreams). But they are too fluid to be measured correctly, however, those may have (partly) caused some of the price / trend changes.

What the hell is all that about?

Just another Satoshi wannabe with website, advertising, a story behind and willingness to convince people (and government institutions).
Since he cannot really prove anything, he's just another fly near the "I am Satoshi" pie.
10000  Economy / Economics / Re: JUST IN: Chinese Central Bank to Launch Digital Currency Called "DCEP" on: October 29, 2019, 08:23:07 AM
Well, this certainly sounds bullish

An obvious next step should be to allow proper exchanges in China so they can sell this... thing for Bitcoin and western money.
But we already know that China, by its declarations and actions can be the biggest Bitcoin price... manipulator.
