9981  Other / Meta / Re: Signature campaigns need more merit? on: April 18, 2018, 03:40:39 AM
This is also a spam post.<...>
Sorry for my English not good
Yep, everything you wrote in this post has been said before, and this thread should be trashcanned.  I'm putting you on ignore, and I'd advise everyone here who has a brain in their skull to do likewise.  This is nothing more than a long-winded merit-begging thread, and it's obvious.

Most signature campaigners are total spammers and don't deserve any merit at all.  And when I say "most", I absolutely mean it.  Those altcoin campaigns will take pretty much anybody with fingers that can tap out 30 posts/week, and you don't see that many people who have a good grasp of English (or cryptocurrency) applying to them.  They shouldn't be given merit out of some misplaced sense of pity.  What they should get is a permaban, but I know that's not going to happen.

It does make me smile when they get caught with alt accounts in the same campaign.  The resulting redness of their trust page puts a gleam in my eye.
9982  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Legalization of drugs? on: April 18, 2018, 03:23:24 AM
This will make the life of drug addicts more easier.
The fuck do you care?  Decreasing HIV, Hep C, overdose death rate, crime rate, and probably some other variables would be the likely outcome if most drugs were legalized.  Right now, heroin addicts have no idea what's in their bag of dope--could be a lethal dose of carfentanyl for all they know, and if we had manufacturers who followed the rules, that problem would be solved in a heartbeat.

Sound like everything you know about addiction comes from the television.  Let me tell you, it's the worst disease you could have--it affects not only the addict, but families and society as a whole.  Governments can't stop drugs, and all the laws they've put in place over the years have just made things much, much worse.  And they're too fucking blind to see it.

Drug use is the choice of everyone. Prohibition only leads to the emergence of black markets and low-quality substances. So, better let it be legally under the supervision of the state
My man.
9983  Other / Meta / Re: Report Sufficiently Answered Topic(s) to Lock on: April 18, 2018, 03:18:01 AM
There is no reason to allow opening thread by newbie. Maybe only in help and beginner section, where they can ask for any help or answer to his question.
They need first to read and learn. It will be easy to boost his rank if they understand this forum.
I absolutely agree with this, though I know it's an extreme position to take and it's unpopular as well.  The vast majority of threads created by noobs are to ask questions that have already been asked a hundred times already, and all the noob has to do is use the search function to find his answer--and they can't be bothered to do this.  And if newbies were restricted in this way, it would also solve the problem of bots creating new accounts and spamming nonsense, like we've seen in the past (though I think this has been solved, perhaps with the captcha).

I mean, come on.  You wouldn't be creating a serious hardship by not allowing newbies to make new threads.  It might be somewhat inconvenient for them, but such is life.  I wasn't here when there was a noob jail, but it sounds like a great idea as well.
9984  Other / Meta / Re: Why the fuck did Admin lock up so many topics? wtf? on: April 18, 2018, 12:27:35 AM
i don't think the early contributors should have their posts deleted just because of later spammers. plus, the topic may be perfectly legit, so they should be left for search results.
On a normal forum, I'd say that's true and would be a fair decision.  On bitcointalk, though?  There are mostly low-quality threads being created in the first place and I would have no problem nuking those on sight.  How many threads do we need comparing bitcoin to gold?  Or asking what the advantages or disadvantages are to bitcoin?  None.  There aren't hard and fast rules as to what's a spam thread, but you know it when you see it.

I suspect that most of the new threads being created in Economics, for instance, are started by people who have alt accounts and are creating topics with questions that they have pre-made answers for.  Stuff that they and other shitposters know how to write already--that's why many of the replies all sound alike.

They learn how to write shit like "Bitcoin is increasing day by day and has bright future we can get profit by investment and we have to wait until price increases and take profit".  Then they reassemble the words into different configurations and tweak them like a medicinal chemist making an amphetamine analogue, and BOOM, they have another post with which to get paid.

So I wouldn't feel that the mods were being unfair in the least if they deleted every post in a spam thread.
9985  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling Bitcoins large quantities up to 500k btc on: April 17, 2018, 11:48:54 PM
Just FYI, it is bad form here on bitcointalk to offer up high-value (or any value) deals off-site.  Not that it's not allowed, but the community here is used to scammers doing exactly what you just did, which is to ask people to contact you on Telegram where any scamming that might be done is not out in the open.  I would suggest you just offer your service in this thread.

It's definitely a plus that you're advertising the use of escrow, but you might want to give some details about who that is, and maybe a little more info about your terms.  If not, you risk getting tagged as a scammer anyway--it happens here a lot.
9986  Other / Meta / Re: Who is able and willing to moderate the Politics & Society section? on: April 17, 2018, 11:37:28 PM
Thanks theymos and everyone else that thought I might make a good choice!
Awesome, glad you won out, FlyingHellfish.  You have a monumental task ahead of you, and I hope you whip that utterly degenerated section of bitcointalk into shape with the business end of a Castlevania-type flame whip or something.  Can't say I'm ever going to visit P&S to see how it's going, so best of luck to you.

For what it's worth, I think you were pretty much the only rational choice.
9987  Other / Meta / Re: Received a body threats from user MOSSAD. (Need Global Moderators) on: April 17, 2018, 10:45:01 PM
I tagged that mo-fo for enrolling alt accounts in a bounty campaign.  If he made these kinds of threats toward you, I suggest you report them and add your own negative trust.  That account will be more worthless than it already is, and my guess is that it'll get a ban for the threat anyhow.  That's against the rules as far as I know.
9988  Other / Meta / Re: TMAN'S guide to getting merit. on: April 17, 2018, 08:29:59 PM
So many new(ish) members say that they joined the forum to learn English, and to find out about Bitcoin, but when you give them the chance, but without the possibility of sig spamming and earning merits, they vanish back into the woodwork.
Of course.  And I expressed doubt as to whether people were actually going to take you up on your new website for that reason.  Most of the members here who have 0 merit, write unintelligible nonsense, aren't ranking up, and are in signature campaigns are only here to earn money.  They're not interested in learning (though they incessantly write about gaining knowledge), reading, or interacting on any level with anyone else.  They have cartoon dollar signs in their eyes when they start tapping out their word-waste.

And these people are the same ones who are cheating bounty campaigns by using legions of alt accounts to increase their earnings.  I'm trying to neg them all, and by so doing, scotching their chances to earn money here.  I pinch them and they squeal like piglets.
9989  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: hilariousandco, Mitchell,Vod,Ognasty Bitblisscoin.com could be a scamsite on: April 17, 2018, 06:35:12 PM
The case is now settled with aTriz negged or given neutral feedback by several members. Though I doubt that a certain individual are going to let this go ever. This is pretty sad for the forum but hey, this too shall pass.
Yeah, I'm still pretty disappointed in aTriz for what he did, though a neutral is all I'm giving him for now.  I've been in a couple of his campaigns and he's run them very well as far as I can see.  These new accusations against him kind of threw me for a loop--but I've seen otherwise honest individuals suddenly start to get infected with the greed bug.  I shouldn't be surprised, but I still am.  Hopefully he can redeem himself.

I'm pretty sure endlasuresh is a QS-controlled account at this point.  Looks like another one of his alt accounts that he thinks he's so clever using, but all of them keep beating the same dead horses, and--just like QS--no one listens to them.

Do you think Quickseller is a scammer?
This is a great question to ask him, and I suspect it'll either get ignored or the answer will be no.

Not so sure about that.
Well it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong about something like that.  It's sometimes easy to tell, other times not.
9990  Other / Meta / Re: I've added audio to the English tuition project. on: April 17, 2018, 05:43:02 PM
I think he sounds great--a man who's lived life, found it to be wanting, and is trying something completely new.  I, Myself, could do without the noisiness of a packed restaurant in the background, but the man's got to do what he has to for wi-fi.

The main problem is whether people are going to be motivated enough to use Jet Cash's site--and I think they should if they want to embark on a successful "career" on bitcointalk.  No one should make this forum their career, but we all know it's happening, and these people at least should know how to speak their adopted language well enough to post good material.

Deep in my heart I suspect a lot of campaigners are lazy, as evidenced by the fact that they're choosing to support families by posting garbage on a discussion forum.  They could write a lot better and a lot more than they currently are, but they choose to do the minimum most of the time, and they're the ones who won't take up a very generous offer like Jet Cash has made.
9991  Other / Meta / Re: This article worth 50 merit ??? on: April 17, 2018, 05:36:09 PM
There is no reason for this post to receive 50 merit points. He just stated that they are still discussing and pinkman12345 gave 50 merits.
At this point, where merits are being handed out in ones and twos,  there's really no reason for anyone to give 50 merits for a single post.  However, it's very subjective how posts are valued, and that's the whole reason why I'm not tagging merit abusers.  There are probably still members here who don't know the value of merit and don't give out a lot, and they might just want to give out 50 at a time.  Eh.

However, I'm not stupid.  I'm sure there's a damn good chance when you see 50 merits given away that those were bought, or it's to an alt account, or to a "friend".
9992  Other / Meta / Re: Why the fuck did Admin lock up so many topics? wtf? on: April 17, 2018, 05:20:01 PM
I realize RawDog is just being himself here, but this is a question that a lot of people here are asking themselves--and I think it was a great decision to lock these bloated monstrosities.  The only further replies that are going to come after page 2 of a thread like [Pick one from the list] are spam ones, stuff that's been said before, and posts from people who write for signature campaigns like they're answering questions on a college exam.

Those threads are, without exception, mega spam threads and should not only be locked but deleted--but I'll take locked over leaving them open any day of the week.

Not if we could just get new threads with similar topics nuked on arrival, we'd be in a much better place.  But as I said, I'll take whatever improvement is offered, starting with what just happened.  I'm not a completely ungrateful bastard.

talk your mother prostitute
All your base are belong to us.

Also:  my mother provides a service which is very much in demand.  I would not criticize her for her career choice.  Gargling hot dogs for a living is a much better choice than sitting on one's ass typing out nonsense and then waiting for bitcoin to be deposited.  You have no chance to survive.  Make your time.

There is a serious language barrier here.
There's all sort of barriers apparent in this thread.
9994  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative trust on: April 17, 2018, 04:56:07 AM
to people who know I asked
It is not forbidden to sell my BitCoTalk account
Do not you know that when you get bored, you get unfair negative feedback on people?
I do not accept injustice  and I invite you to honesty
There's no injustice here, and I've reinforced actmyname's feedback on you.  You should have taken the time to realize how the community feels about account sales before jumping in and doing what you did.  But nope, you screwed up and all of a sudden you're the victim of a grave injustice.

Let me tell you, you're not.  You're not a victim and you're not likely to garner any support by whining here.
9995  Other / Meta / Re: someone sell the merit&account, no admin to investigate it? on: April 16, 2018, 08:42:51 PM
Can you translate that?  If there's people who are blatantly selling merits on bitcointalk, I'll be happy to tag them red.  I don't read Chinese, however.

From here you can get a translation for links posted from OP
No, I expect that if someone wants help with tagging--and DT members are mostly English-speakers--that they do the translation job themselves, with the accusation.  I don't have the time to fuck around with google translate.  I'm not getting paid to do any of this.

Edit:  But there might be other members of DT who do speak Chinese and would gladly tag these fools without a translation.
9996  Other / Meta / Re: Actions taken against spam megathreads? on: April 16, 2018, 08:39:01 PM
I hope our prayers have been answered. Smiley
You got that right.  Those threads are almost without exception complete garbage--garbage that should go straight to the trash can.  We'll see what this means, exactly.  Bitcoin Discussion has become nothing more than a big electromagnetic spammer magnet, and it's not even worth posting in the few threads that are worthwhile, because anything you write will, within seconds, get buried in an avalanche of crap.
9997  Other / Meta / Re: Someone trying to get to my account? on: April 16, 2018, 07:00:44 PM
The worst addicts are the ones who have the keys to those kinds of safes already.  LOL.  Nevertheless, I'm not worried about some pharmaceuticals getting yoinked from me.  Scammers could probably pull off some serious shenanigans if they were able to access my account--and then I'm sure no one would believe me when I said I got hacked, because I'm so cynical about those claims.  Could be an ugly situation for me.

Not saying my password is uncrackable, but it's fairly strong and I'm confident I'm not going to get hacked.  And I don't respond to phishing things or download weird programs.  I'd advise everyone to adhere to those things as well.  I think that's how a lot of people get hacked.
9998  Other / Meta / Re: Someone trying to get to my account? on: April 16, 2018, 06:15:33 PM
I got the same e-mail about two days ago, but I wasn't sure exactly what it was referring to--either a new feature notification or that someone had actually tried to crack my password using the "forgot password" option.  Now I'm assuming that the e-mail I got means the latter.  Interesting.

Gee, why would anyone want to hack me? Kiss
9999  Other / Meta / Re: Please Hire me to a job that will be rewarded with merits. on: April 16, 2018, 06:11:07 PM
Merits should be awarded for good posts ONLY, in my opinion, and if it's too hard to write something that's going to earn them, I'd forget about other methods--those are more likely to earn you a negative reputation here than anything else.

People need to chill out and be more patient with the merit system.  In addition to that, I see so many people who obviously put ZERO effort into their posts, and they either write new posts complaining about how they're being picked on, or they'll start up unnecessary new threads (and usually the OP is short and poorly-written) to do the same.

Do these people not see which posts are getting merits?  Emulate those, though if you're a noob and you're railing against shitposters and praising the merit system....people are going to see through that.

Just improve your English, visit fittotalk.com for Jet Cash's tutorial forum and practice, and merit should follow.  Should.  But most good things in life take time.  The first merit to ever be handed out was not even 3 whole months ago.

Abusing various bounties with alts
I had to post this PM I got from this guy here, so we can remind ourselves what we're dealing with, which is the type of manipulator who will say anything and do anything:

what should I do to get you to release negative trust from my account?
my parents would be very disappointed to hear this news  Cry
I promise to be better. I will not change my wallet address so you can always monitor.
I will contribute more to this forum. I would be grateful if you would like to remove the negative trust from my account.
I will be very respectful of you, and I will never forget your kindness.

I bolded the idiotic part.  And even if this joker was telling the truth in his PM to me, it's unbelievably pathetic.  Parents should not give two shits whether a kid (or young adult) gets kicked off a forum--unless they've put him in the abusive position of being breadwinner for their household.  Either way, I'm not going to be swayed by appeals to emotion.  Especially not an appeal to some parents' anger directed toward some unknown internet noob-scammer.

Edit:  KeithBeeCham, I tagged your newest batch of reports.  Good finds.
