The plan originated among Democrats on the FCC; the commission’s two Republican members didn’t even learn about it until it was well under way. There was also a one-sidedness in the research behind the project. The FCC enlisted scholars from two big journalism schools, the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Communication and Democracy, to determine the “critical information needs” about which journalists would be questioned. The study, delivered in July 2012, listed five authors: Ernest J. Wilson III, Carola Weil, and Katya Ognyanova from USC, Lewis Friedland from Wisconsin, and Philip Napoli from Fordham University. (Weil is now with American University.) Four of the five, it turns out, contributed to President Obama’s campaigns.

Via Foreign Policy (10/22/08): Speaking Tuesday at a rally in a Reno, Nevada, Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin had a little fun with her counterpart on the Democratic ticket, thanking Joe Biden for warning Barack Obama’s supporters to “gird your loins” for an international crisis if the Illinois senator wins. Palin helpfully offered four scenarios for such a crisis, one of which was this strange one: “After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.” As we’ve said before, this is an extremely far-fetched scenario. And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraine’s pro-Western government without firing a shot, I don’t see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel. Both of these parties are exactly the same, they're Imperialists ( People who want to expand a military empire ) and government loyalists ( People who are loyal to a government, in this case it seems to be government itself they're loyal to rather than a particular ideology ) these silly tags like 'liberal' and 'conservative' are completely wrong and when you look at what they actually believe in, the context I've seen Americans use 'conservative' and 'liberal' only apply when it comes to social issues like gay rights and so on.
The only differences they have between each other is the way they want to expand their empire and their domestic policy.

Google's mystery barge is heading on a short cruise to comply with an order requiring it to move from its current home on a San Francisco Bay island. The agency leasing the Treasure Island space where the barge is being built says the four-story vessel is bound for the Port of Stockton, a destination located about 80 miles east of San Francisco. The barge is supposed to move by March 7, according to Mirian Saez, director of operations for the Treasure Island Development Authority, which rented the vessel's current home. Google Inc. and the Port of Stockton didn't immediately respond to requests for comment. The barge is leaving because of a Jan. 31 regulatory order concluding that Google didn't have the proper building permits at Treasure Island. The Port of Stockton falls outside the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, the regulator that cracked down on the barge. Google had halted work on the barge late last year amid speculation that the Mountain View, Calif., company was building an aquatic store to sell its products or a party boat. The company says the barge will serve as an interactive technology center once it's done. A Florida TV station reports that a man has spent 50-60 hours trying to cancel his Obamacare plan, and he still can't get off it: "We are hearing about a new problem that involves the Affordable Care Act," said the anchor. "People who signed up for coverage are finding it impossible to cancel their plans. Channel 9's Lori Brown spoke with an Orlando man who has been trying unsuccessfully to cancel for more than six weeks now." "Andrew Robinson was looking forward to getting health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. He has a small publishing business and works part time, so he hasn't had coverage. In early January he signed up for a plan that cost nearly $300 a month. About a half hour later he and his wife realized they could barely afford that. They quickly found a less expensive plan through Humana for $116 a month," says the reporter. "I immediately called back the Florida Blue and asked them to cancel the policy I just set up," says Robinson. "But he quickly learned canceling Obamacare is no easy task. ... GCHQ files dating between 2008 and 2010 explicitly state that a surveillance program codenamed Optic Nerve collected still images of Yahoo webcam chats in bulk and saved them to agency databases, regardless of whether individual users were an intelligence target or not. In one six-month period in 2008 alone, the agency collected webcam imagery – including substantial quantities of sexually explicit communications – from more than 1.8 million Yahoo user accounts globally. Yahoo reacted furiously to the webcam interception when approached by the Guardian. The company denied any prior knowledge of the program, accusing the agencies of "a whole new level of violation of our users' privacy". GCHQ does not have the technical means to make sure no images of UK or US citizens are collected and stored by the system, and there are no restrictions under UK law to prevent Americans' images being accessed by British analysts without an individual warrant.  Global warming isn’t just going to melt the Arctic and flood our cities—it’s also going to make Americans more likely to kill each other. That’s the conclusion of a controversial new study that uses historic crime and temperature data to show that hotter weather leads to more murders, more rapes, more robberies, more assaults, and more property crimes. “Looking at the past, we see a strong relationship between temperature and crime,” says study author Matthew Ranson, an economist with policy consulting firm Abt Associates. “We think that is likely to continue in the future.” Just how much more crime can we expect? Using the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s warming projections, Ranson calculated that from 2010 to 2099, climate change will “cause” an additional “22,000 murders, 180,000 cases of rape, 1.2 million aggravated assaults, 2.3 million simple assaults, 260,000 robberies, 1.3 million burglaries, 2.2 million cases of larceny, and 580,000 cases of vehicle theft” in the US. Ranson acknowledges that those results represent a relatively small jump in the overall level of crime—a 2.2 percent increase in murder and a 3.1 percent increase in rape, for instance.  Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveals that 71.67 percent of babies aborted in Mississippi are black, while 26.6 percent are white--an outcome that stands in sharp contrast to the fact that whites outnumber blacks in that state by nearly two to one. As CNS News reports, according to CDC’s annual Abortion Surveillance study, 39,052 black babies were aborted in Mississippi between 1995 and 2010, while 14,529 white babies were aborted. The total number of abortions between 1995 and 2010 in Mississippi was 54,484, including babies who were black, white, Hispanic, “Other” (meaning Asian and Native American), and “Unknown.” The United States Census Bureau stated that, in 2012, the population of Mississippi was 2,986,450, of which whites comprised 1,788,883 or 59.9 percent of the total. Blacks represent 37.4 percent of the total population, which equals 1,116,932. As Breitbart News reported on February 21st, a New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene report found that more black babies were aborted in that city than were born there in 2012. The "Summary of Vital Statistics 2012 The City of New York, Pregnancy Outcomes," prepared by the city’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, states that 31,328 African American babies were killed by abortion in 2012 in New York City, while only 24,758 black babies were born, leaving 6,570 more abortions than births in that year. What makes you think he connects to the 6th or 7th dimension through meditating? Not saying he doesn't, but I'm curious if there's any evidence to suggest this. I mean, have you experienced DMT yourself? I constantly see energy at night, though it does not compare to the conscious foam of a much higher dimension. I feel that people who meditate to this level are more inclined to have a state of awareness and connectivity similar to DMT or psychedelics, but I can't say I've heard of people inducing full out trips. Well, I take that back sort of, I have had points where I could make myself trip slightly, form patterns out of the grass and such, by focusing my mind to do so. But still, to reach an equal experience of DMT through meditation would be quite the feat I imagine. I'm sure it can be done, but I would sure like to know about a human that has that ability. Just to give you guys my limited experience of DMT, it basically channels a spirit of great intelligence. In the presence of the spirit, one may feel intimidated or unworthy just by the presence of such a divine being. It's not something to be abused, but it is there for you to explore. I used it three times in a row when I first tried it (not on the same day). The third time, the spirit was angry with me for overindulging without true spiritual purpose in mind, it made it quite clear that it was not to be used as a recreational tool but only when you truly seek wisdom and self evolvement. I have only 'blasted off' (completely left this dimension) on one occasion. From my experience, it's actually a lot easier to handle when you go all the way through to the other side then when you're still hanging on to this reality. My experience of blasting off was quite divine, rather than shooting out of my body, the hyperspace came to me. I could feel my soul winding through a neighborhood of souls (some would prefer to call them spirits, but I like to say souls in this instance). I felt a true connection with each entity I encountered, it was as if I was visiting people I have known in past lives. We were happy to have felt each other's presence. It's truly a life changing experience and so long as you go into with an open mind, you will find much growth and understanding within your own consciousness. And with understanding comes peace. Note that my experience is not a blueprint of what it will be like. I have heard of someone entering a world where they could create things with their mind, like a lucid dream. I also experienced this, though what I was creating was what looked to be a wall of hair-like energy. I have also heard of someone experiencing nothingness or dark space, which boggled me at first but just proves that what you experience is truly based off what you believe to be there. Anyways, don't mean to rant, just wanted to share for anyone who may be interested. If you want a new perspective, if you want to find purpose, if you want to believe in yourself, if you want to transcend beyond this dimension, if you want to see the true nature of the universe and consciousness, I recommend trying it at least once. That is why you should have reflected a little bit more about the word "maybe" before "him" when I posted the link my dear grasshopper...  |

Obama’s science czar: Opposing climate views outside the ‘mainstream scientific opinion’ White House science czar Dr. John Holdren wasn’t in the mood to be contradicted on whether global warming was causing “extreme weather.” Holdren described climate scientists whose work contradicts the White House’s global warming claims as outside the “scientific mainstream.” Holdren was asked by Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions to cite scientific data that supported claims that droughts and other weather events were being made worse by global warming.
