1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: May 15, 2018, 08:35:35 PM
MSI Z270-A PRO with 7 GPU used to run  fine for almost a year. Suddenly yesterday I had ~50 restarts so I tried to figure out what is going on.

Didn't find any suspicious change notes so I started to review my hardware.

First: It is mining well for about 4-10 minutes then it shows error "gpu fault detected 147" after this error all GPUs still mining for about 10 seconds then instantly reboots with command: "sysrq resetting" which isn't any watchdog of Claymore.

What I tried already: reduced OC, increased voltage, different PSU, brand new risers, checked all cables if they are burned or heating up fast (all were fine, healthy and cold) and it's no change.

Guys what has happened, have you any suggestions? My script which worked fine for some time looks like this:
Code:
-wd 1 -r 1 -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal wallet.$rigName -esm 0 -epsw x -allpools 1 -dcri 14

AMD RX 570 with dag fix works perfect! 950W in dual mode @ 6 GPUs. Undevolting @ 880 mV stable.

I'm before migrating to SMOS on my other RIGs is there possible to define different undevolting values for any cards like OC?

Hey guys I have problem with NV version of SMOS

Code:
#########################################
Checking connection to simplemining.net ...
There is no v1105 update at this time :(
Downloading and writing new config - OK
Registering rig at simplemining.net ..... #########################################
YOUR EMAIL: xxxx@xxxx
#########################################
Go to simplemining.net and login with your email to manage this rig !
============ Preparing miners =============
============ OVERCLOCKING =================
Applying PowerLimit: 191 watt
Persistence mode is already Enabled for GPU 0000:01:00.0.
All done.
Power limit for GPU 0000:01:00.0 was set to 191.00 W from 165.00 W.
All done.
Applying CoreOffset: 50 MemoryOffset: 250

It looks like this and then it's nothing happening. Tried many reboots, OC settings etc. Any ideas?

Power limit is far too high, OC you memory only, start at 100w for power and go down, Im using 1060's myself, and can wind them down to 80W with a solid overclock of 23.5mh each

I have 1070's I didn't want OC it at all but I guess I have to otherwise SMOS won't even start miner with null values.

Hello guys, any of you tested MSI RX 580 Armor 8G OC HYNIX ? I can't do more than 27 MH/s with straps 2:1750 and OC 1150 / 2150.

Did all straps like 2:1500 - 2:2000 = crashing after Windows booted up.
2:1625 = with stock setting crash after miner starts work.

1:1500, 1:1625, 1:1750 = no effects at all.

Any ideas? Or I'm doing something wrong?  Sad

Original bios here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7jljf2bl8q3g7d2/original_hynix_rx580_.rom?dl=0

Or this is gabage gpu and mems? I could return them and try with something else. What you think?

Hi guys, I am new to ZEC mining, I want to buy 5x GTX 1070 and I'm confused which one I should buy.

The models I'm considering to buy are:

1. Gigabyte G1
2. Palit Jetstream (I read something about flashing bios from game rock model is it good for mining zcash or just stay on stock rom?)
3. Palit Game Rock
4. Gigabyte Windforce
5. Asus Dual OC
6. MSI Armor

I know there is some kind of luck which brand memory I will get but have any of you tested any of this above and can tell which is the best?

My friend have just bought G1 Gaming and got Micron memory getting about 430 sol/s is it good for the price?
Hi there!

I have 1 gigabyte windforce and 5 msi armor. Armor is better with cooling and have lower temperatures with lower fan noise. PCB, fans, heatsink and pipes are bigger in armor. So i suggest you to go with armor.
BTW, here in Ukraine there is a lot of MSI armor taken from Poland and
Illegally brought through border).

What about performance between those two models? Did you have in Ukraine any Radeon RX 570 on the market?

I would recommend you buying RX 570 4GB for mining ETH, ROI is much more faster that investing in GTX 1070 + RX 570 with 6gpu and all parts cost 2000euros max, gtx 1070 with 6gpu will cost you 3000euros.

Thanks for your reply, I already have a 6x RX 570 mining rig and unfortunately there no hope for availability RX 570s again soon in Poland and that's why I'm planning to build w ZEC mining rig.

If I could I would buy RX 570... but maybe after nvidia rig.

Instead of doing it by the ID since that always changes you can just do screen -x miner instead.

That's the real tip. Thanks.

Hi Tytanik,

First of all: great work!
As a semi-linux-noob I would like to know if it is possible to set up a SSH connection (easy part) en read the output of the miner.
I know I can open the site en read the console but I'd like to read it in a PuTTy window.

Start you SSH client, log on your miner f.e. ssh miner@192.168.1.10 password is "miner", then list screen sessions "screen -ls" it will show screen session ID of your working miner, just use screen -x ID.

1.

2.

Hope it works on Putty in same way.

You have right. Why is that GPU so vulnerable on heat compare to other ones? How can I cool it down? Is there any way to set GPU fan speed seperetely?

I'm successfully dual mining ETC + SC but one of my GPU has lower hashrate than others. Never did dual mining before I have set dcri to 14 and I think it's optimal for the rest GPUs.

All GPUs have same Elpida's memory, they're same manufacturer and same modded bios. Have you any idea what's happen to that GPU 4?

Screenshots:

after a while

When I solo mine ETC hashrates seems to be ok, no drop on GPU 4.

Hi everyone.

I'm using SMOS from 14 days - great job Tytanick. Today I wanted to try Dual Mining with some Pascalcoin. Did the proper settings in Claymore 9.3 and my hashrate for Ethereum dropped to 50% of normal speed to about 13,5-14 MH/s per GPU while Pascal was around I believe ~2500 MH/s in total.

What have I messed?

My RIG is 6x RX 570 Gigabyte Elpida @ 1060 MHz core clock, 1940 MHz mem clock, power stage set to 0, 820 Watt from wall - it was stable for 14 days on Ethereum solo at 164 MH/s.

For Dual Mining I tried to even set power stage to 5 but it doesn't work either, seems like mining Pascalcoin is prioritizing over Ethereum.

I'm newbie miner, if this issue isn't software related please forgive me and ignore my post. Believe me or not, had tried to solve it by myself already.
