Can't you all show some more respect for iamatrix's problems. I hear he's suffering from a bad case of cointheftitis.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQcoin.org Official Thread on: October 08, 2013, 11:14:07 AM
What are you guys doing? You seem to be the ones that want to break BBQCoin and stop it from getting upgraded and move forward.

Bigduab you don't run BBQcoin.org so you cannot make decisions for it. And we are still to wait for your android wallet.

Why are you now going to the exchanges as a non Dev and telling them what to do?

All clients get updated and lots of users have already downloaded and started using the new client and you are trying to make it so that any coins they mine will be useful.

Your not a client development Dev so please stop acting like you are. Please.
Im sry but you cant call yourself dev by changing pictures and reading wiki's how to do changes to coins/copy changes from other coins...
What you did is worse than bbqcoin.com. You didnt even inform your (ex) dev-team (figroll + me) about what u planned to do, all we got froum you is big talk, no game.
Look what you have become, if you understand what you did you would be ashamed of yourself...
If you want to play shitcoin game -> stay with extremecoin, crimecoin and all the other things you copy pasted.
You also said you got a seednode which is a lie, basicly you just made a public bbqcoin daemon and gave everyone its IP. a seednode (DNS Seeder) is something completely different...

PS: this had to be said

The last real dev this coin had was Cubox... well dev... this coin is just a clone like all the others.

I really hope none of you guys (especially CC, who seems to think God has selected him to resurrect this coin over and over again) think this coin will ever become worth anything again  Smiley
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] PhenixEx Notice on: September 30, 2013, 08:11:34 AM

yeah how about those refunds, let's get this shit rolling

I don't get it. This exchange has a database, self developed. Obviously it's just one query to see what coins are stuck. If the intention is to pay back everybody, why isn't it automated? Why do you need to mail your return request when that information is already available?

Is this thing still running?

Too bad we can't check on the UNOCs site Smiley

Bitsinmyhead has officially killed PXC.

there are a few ppl mining, i wonder how stupid can they be.
If it is profitable, why not?

Wonder where nawazish1 is. He may have now realised that the PXC developers were the real trolls who dumped all their premine.

nawazish1 is waiting for the next coin Smiley Lol I remember the time - before PXC - when he was a die-hard Bitbar believer.

Good times  Grin
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: September 25, 2013, 07:28:58 AM
Why do you think Primecoin slumped down so deep this morning? Shocked  Shocked
 I was buying last week when it dropped below 0.25 becuase I thought it was funnny cheap but when I looked at the price this morning I was shocked. It slumped down without any correlation to bitcoin or XPM mining difficulty (or am I wrong?). How deep it could decline further??

There's not a single reason why it would stay this high. A month from now we will be at 0.0002 or something, mark my words

Sorry to hijack this thread, but user "vinne81" is a scammer and should be marked as such. I was a primary investor in his crypto casino which was taken offline abruptly and my coins stolen (he has also blocked me from sending him personal messages). We had an agreement that if the casino was taken offline that I would have my investment coins returned in full. I am posting here because he has posted in this thread recently and I just want everyone to know not to deal with him because he is a high risk. Thanks for your time.

You DID get your coins back, you saying you didn't get my transactions?

Edit. My PXC transaction doesn't confirm, possibly because my client is outdated. Now their own (phenixcoin) website is down. You can't blame me for that now can you.

Assuming this is run like a normal business with an office and people and expenses.

wishful thinking. no, we have to live with the fact this exchange is the project of realsolid.

He did announce he is going on a diet again in the chat today. I find this good news - hoping he will stick to it this time. he has explained "eating food" makes his thinking worse. but he also says life is less exciting without "eating food". I found this a strange comment (how does food make life exciting?) but others are more convinced of this point and paradoxically see his decision to diet again as a net negative for the exchange.

How so? Is he fat and going to die of his fatness?

Lol what a fail dev and fail(scam?)project. I wonder where are all the fanboys, ready to die for their PXC masters not so long ago?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin, new thread :) on: September 18, 2013, 04:11:22 AM
So, What are the guesses with how long it'll take before the miner will actually mine? Anyone got a guess to throw up there. My guess is 2 more months.
Never unless someone else picks up the project which mtrlt has seemed to indicate he is abandoning,

Yups, also Primecoin's 15minutes of fame seems to be over. Price will never recover.

Why will the price never recover? Since the threat of a sudden increase in production has been removed, I would expect the price to climb. Or are you suggesting that no-one will want to buy Primecoin?

That is exactly what I am suggesting. Primecoin has a fantastic new mining mechanism, using prime chains. But really that's just a novelty.

Price might fluctuate, but it will never ever go back to 0.01

But that's just, like, my opinion man  Smiley
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MCXNow Can See your passwords! REALSolid has access to all your Passwords on: September 17, 2013, 12:36:22 PM

wrong, most can only see the hash. they would have to decrypt it to see the password
i use the exchange before but even i can tell you no matter how well it works the non hashing is the single flaw in there

Are you joking?? Of course they can see the password, it's the admin (or their software) that does the hashing in the first place.

Admin wanting to have passwords 101.
1) User enters passwords
2) Code on site logs cleartext password to a logfile, then hashes password into the database.

Non hashed passwords in the database only make the database more vulnerable should it be stolen. That's it. It doesn't make RS untrustworthy. Let's just hope his db is unstealable.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin High Performance on: September 17, 2013, 12:33:12 PM
I have a total of about 7 CPD (HP11) crunching. Since about a month ago I'm experiencing much, much lower blockrate. Currently it's about one block per 2-3 days. Wondering who finds all those blocks?

Also I noticed (since day 0) that my machines often find a few blocks in a row (over 1-3 days) and then find nothing for days/weeks. I even had 3 blocks within a few hours a few times. Can anybody confirm, that it is more likely to find a block when a block has been found in the past hours?  I can't believe this is pure luck.

Yes. They come in groups. It's not totally random. There are hidden parameters that are not well understood.  In the hidden parameter space there is tide of "luck". I can only guess the parameters are related to network speed, performance of the whole network, and the condition of your peers who are network neighbors at the moment.

Sorry, I can't agree with this, and I have found several thousand XPM in total now. I think you are falling into the trap of seeing patterns where there really are none: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apophenia

Similarly a gambler remembers theirs successes more than their failures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivorship_bias), especially when they also perceive a 'lucky streak' or 'a round of wins': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot-hand_fallacy

I suspect if you plot your found block frequency against time and perform rigorous statistical testing you will see there is not really the phenomenon you describe.

Agreed, having mined 10K+ XPM.

You really can't draw conclusions from mining on average a block per 2-3 days.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MCXNow Can See your passwords! REALSolid has access to all your Passwords on: September 16, 2013, 09:54:48 AM
Ow man what a fucking stupid bullshit

Sites that claim to store the passwords salted and hashed might not, who knows.
Sites that store passwords salted and hashed still might log them on somewhere else to misuse them, who knows.
Sites that store passwords salted and hashed still can take all your money and run.

There is absolutely now added value in this hashing and salting, when people are lax with their login credentials.

This.

Some of you guys are plain stupid. The only benefit of salting/hashing is that, in the event of a db theft, the passwords cant be read by the thief.

Any info you enter on a site, the admin can ALWAYS see it.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin, new thread :) on: September 04, 2013, 05:34:36 AM
mtrlt promised early access to the beta. So all you guys can't deny that everybody here is in it for the profit. What's more important is that mtrlt used this as his main argument to get in more "donations" "Donate now, mine one week before the rest." So NO "donate so we can support this great new coin, I'm sure we all do it for believing in this greater good".

Who cares if it's call donations or payment?  So to hell with all your "you don't know what a donation is" bs. The idea all the time was that mtrlt was going to deliver to the donators a nicely working beta - sure a beta, but no alpha. An alpha is what is released.

After the gpu miner apparent failure, it seems that difficulty is kinda stagnated.

Code:
"blocks" : 147833, "difficulty" : 9.85310471,
"blocks" : 147834, "difficulty" : 9.85307074,
"blocks" : 147837, "difficulty" : 9.85310775,
"blocks" : 147838, "difficulty" : 9.85310000,
"blocks" : 147839, "difficulty" : 9.85312480,
"blocks" : 147841, "difficulty" : 9.85307729,
"blocks" : 147843, "difficulty" : 9.85294372,

Even getting lower.

Yeah it has been struggling to approach 10.00 for days, I think it will take maybe a week or more to reach it even if it raised continuously from now on.

As was explained in a recent blog piece, diff adjusts relatively slowly so it'll take days or weeks to see the effects of GPU mining.

I note that the main thread(s) discussing the GPU miner have degenerated in a shit storm, because apparently the GPU miner doesn't perform to the arbitrary expectations of the donors. I say tuff titties. I recall calling that, weeks ago. The creator even freely admitted that the performance would be hard to determine (this was before most people had donated).

I will be continuing to mine on CPU for now. If/when the GPU miner is released openly then I'll probably run it on a few systems. But I continue to look forward to mikaelh's releases.

mikaelh = the man
mtrlt = not so much

Its ridiculas to think that he should be building the miner and constantly adding  in the updates from other projects when this is the first release!

Also you spelt Plain wrong Tongue

Stop correcting other people imo
