1  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: banks refusing to let me open an account on: December 09, 2017, 05:14:20 PM
How do they define "large" ? Maybe 500k PHP is large? I've regularly deposited and withdrawn 1m to 2m to even 4m. They've never asked me for any documents. Anyway, coins.ph, if that's what you use, has a 400k daily limit, so you just need to do that for a few days to get enough to buy a condo.

And, I'm almost sure, you can somehow find a way to get some sort of loan or mortgage for a condo.

They didn't define the size of it, but I was intending to withdraw directly from bitstamp and that would make it obvious the source of the funds. As for coins yes I have a level 3 verified account with a 400k daily limit but as yet I do not have a bank account.

What the bank told me is that I normally need to have a savings account for 6 months before I can get a checking account but they were willing to waive that requirement because I had an endorsement letter from the property developer. Unfortunately it seems to get rejected once the application gets passed on to the branch manager for approval (I tried BDO and BPI so far).
2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bittrex is a scam website - AVOID!- WITH PROOF!! on: December 09, 2017, 03:30:11 PM
I think they are just having growing pains, they were the perfect exchange until a load of people started shifting to bittrex from poloniex after they had similar issues.

I have yet to have any problems depositing or withdrawing sums up to 10 BTC at a time there.
3  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: banks refusing to let me open an account on: December 09, 2017, 03:24:17 PM
Thanks for all the advice, I considered lying to the bank about my source of income but they told me they would require documentation about the source of funds for any large deposits/transfers and I would need to transfer several millions if I buy a condo here. I'm also scared of having my account frozen if i lie on the application and they feel my usage is suspicious.

I never tried security bank as some have suggested but I got a positive response from HSBC who are reviewing my application and may or may not reject me. If they reject me I will probably try security bank next. I already got rejected at the larger banks
4  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / banks refusing to let me open an account on: December 06, 2017, 03:46:25 PM
So I'm a foreigner living in the Philippines and have been funding my stay using coins.ph, but I wanted to open a bank account in order to invest in condos but the banks have been rejecting my account applications on the grounds that my source of income is bitcoin.

Any suggestions? Any bitcoin friendly banks here?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin surpasses $12000 on: December 06, 2017, 03:22:31 PM
Yep, Bitcoin is not the only one on the run, take a look at IOTA...WOW

Yes, Microsoft, Cisco etc are dumping funds into IOTA. Bill gates personally putting money into IOTA.. So Raising kid is IOTA now. Soon as a BTC ... hmm

Big names doesn't mean it will succeed, but for sure it has driven the speculative price up a lot.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cashing in on Bitcoin - Daily Income on: December 06, 2017, 03:18:51 PM
Hi,

I'm new to the forum and have been looking over several possible ways to maximise my earnings from Bitcoin on a daily/weekly basis as a secondary income

During the recent growth, my Coinbase account shows me the daily, weekly, monthly growth in £/$ & %

All my investment is currently in Bitcoin, but in theory if each day my investment grows by 5% for example, is it wise to withdraw that percentage to use as an 'income'. My fear of this is that although my original investment will remain untouched I will be selling a portion of the bitcoin and the more times I do this I will be left with 0.00000 BTC

I have thought of so many pros and cons to the above that I thought id ask

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

I would suggest cashing out a portion of the increase in value and letting some of it ride for higher gains in the future, that way you will eventually end up with more money out than you originally put in.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: December 06, 2017, 03:17:42 PM
The best way to go about it is to make yourself a goal from the start and once you reach it then you can start cashing out. Holding on to bitcoin forever guarantees you won't reach the peak and you could end up worse than when you started depending on how the market performs and whether there are big crashes.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Regulating Bitcoin on: December 05, 2017, 03:37:37 PM
Bitcoin is already regulated on the exchange level making it a bit more challenging to launder money than if it were completely unregulated, however there is little authorities can do with smaller sums the same as with cash.

It is however inevitable that they will regulate it on an individual basis soon to avoid too much tax evasion, I think however that will also be done through exchanges rather than up to the individual because its simply too hard to watch over the entire population.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ChronoLogic - Proof-of-Time token on Ethereum [BOUNTIES] on: August 30, 2017, 01:33:26 PM
Keep in mind the ChronoPower of each timemint halves every 88 days, but you can sell your DAY tokens without the TimeMint if you wish to do so.
What will happen in 2 years then? The ChronoPower will halve 8 times, but still generate some small amount of tokens (will go from ~0.5% to 0.00195%)?

That is what TimeMint was designed . So basically the longer TimeMints operate the lesser it yield DAY token. So better strategy is to buy more at the exchange as early as possibly to send the DAY tokens for minting before it half .

I joined the ICO and got a timemint right ?
But I still need to buy daytokens to send to my timemint so they'll generate more timemints ?
Your Timemint will generate more DAY tokens. Also, my understanding is that you will receive (with your Timemint) 24 DAY tokens per Eth you paid for yout Timemint.

Yes beauty of this ICO we get DAY and TimeMint both. Its great!!!

11  Local / Skandinavisk / Re: [ANN][ICO] ChronoLogic - Proof-of-Time token på Ethereum on: August 26, 2017, 07:03:26 PM

I hope there will be a good Scandinavian community of investors as there is now a Danish translation of the ANN thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2083963.0

If there are any Scandinavians taking part in this ICO lets have a discussion about it there.
13  Local / Skandinavisk / [ANN][ICO] ChronoLogic - Proof-of-Time token på Ethereum on: August 13, 2017, 01:29:03 AM

Chronologic anvender proof-of time. I sin første use-case knytter ChronoLogic begrebet tid til en store of value token, der hedder DAY, og som er baseret på Ethereum blockchain.

ICO detaljer

ICO finder sted 28.

Se vores hvidbog for alle detaljer omkring denne proces.

Finansiel brug

Investor A sender 200 DAY og modtager 1.000 COM.

• Sammen med andre partnere at betateste yderligere anvendelsesområder for Proof-of-Time.
• At udvikle den åbne Proof-of-Time Chronos platform for at muliggøre brug af Proof-of-Time tokens for tredieparter.
• At deltage i, støtte og implementere 18 Proof-of-Time blockchain projekter.

Vores Hold

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So many BTC, we are far away from Satoshi Nakamoto's idea on: August 02, 2017, 11:49:12 PM
There is only bitcoin and bitcoin cash, everything else is just ideas that are being proposed and bitcoin works on consensus which is exactly Satoshi Nakamkoto's idea.

Anyway what is important is not to preserve a bitcoin in Satoshi's image, it is to make a bitcoin that works for us otherwise we are just centralizing on his ideas rather than using what works.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin reach the $4000 mark this year ? on: August 02, 2017, 11:11:40 PM
Bitcoin price seems to be surging , investors seem to think that the price will surge to $4000 , In the US there seems to be negativity towards bitcoin on the securities and Exchange commission , what would create this surge ?

If until the end of this year seems not yet able to penetrate the price of 4K $, still around 3.5K $ price, but it all depends on the market sometimes the forecast down but the market says go up what else, we just follow the market

i am very confident that at the end of this year bitcoin price will even  cross 5000$, i think people were waiting for 1st August and now i am sure that bitcoin price will cover 5000$ very easily, because 1st August has gone and we are expecting that it will do not have any worst effect on the price of bitcoin.

I would be happy with $4000 as already suggested by this thread but if it passes $5000 already this year I will be celebrating like there's no tomorrow.

The only potential problem I see preventing this is probably the 2mb hardfork due in a few months.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Value and the Relationship between BTC and BCH on: August 02, 2017, 11:09:50 PM
Well BTC stayed relatively stable while BCH has pumped thus far, the combined value is above $3500 now. Many people expected BTC price to drop after the coins were paid out but the only thing that happened was the general alt market pumped, I guess because no one sold for fiat and only traded their BTC for altcoins.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WHY BCC PRICE KEEPS INCREASING on: August 02, 2017, 11:06:29 PM
I need technical people help me with this.
Since the initiation of the fork, the price of BCC keeps increasing and now it is nearly half of BTC.
Is there a possibility of BCC getting to the price of BTC and become stable at that price or it will drop after it gets higher.
I am really fascinated by the way the price is increasing and I don't want to be late Smiley

It's just my opinion but no I don't think BCC has any chance of reaching the price of BTC. Mainly you cannot transfer BCC into exchanges so the supply is limited while the demand remains unchanged.

Once confirmations speed up and exchanges accept deposits it's likely the price will crash more from its current price (which is already close to half its max price on bittrex).
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Sending Bitcoin Cash to Bittrex or YoBit on: August 02, 2017, 10:58:30 PM
The Bitcoin Cash network is still too new and confirmations too unreliable, I bet it will take up to a week before they can be freely traded between exchanges.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex down on: August 02, 2017, 10:55:06 PM
I'm so glad I no longer use poloniex, all these problems are completely absent from bittrex. Seriously how long is it going to be before enough people abandon poloniex that it is no longer relevant.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will be the next block for BCH? on: August 02, 2017, 10:53:25 PM
bathrobehero,
Legendary, could you please explain what this means for the average user like me

can I still send BCH to an exchange to sell for BTC or is it over already? ty

You will be able to sell once the network starts moving.

As the difficulty will decrease in the adjucted blocks, eventually blocks will be found at the same rate as Bitcoin (even if not many people would mine it) so exchanges will accept deposits and withdrawals.

Once the difficulty adjusts you will be able to send but I think exchanges will always require an extremely high number of confirmations due to the low hash rate making any major bitcoin mining pool able to perform a 51% attack if they wanted to.
