2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: May 25, 2017, 01:12:21 PM
I've had my coins for a long time, and gave it a few hours of thought tonight...I'm out.  It would take a full rebranding, deletion of fluffy, coin name change and a lot of time for me to even consider supporting or using XMR.  Maybe I'll be back then, but we were already behind the times with the GUI wallet, branding, site, etc.  Bytecoin is better than this now in my mind, and in retrospect the distribution of Monero was bullshit.  If you think about it, it was announced on this site and yea at the time that seems like a large announcement...in the reality of things and the world it is not.  You can't say that then turn around and say Bytecoin has poor distribution when its been 10 satoshi and steadily minable for literally years.  Time has changed the circumstances in many ways.  Many others would prefer DASH to Monero, I'm sure.  I know I'm very keen on ZEC and upcoming ETH(ZEC) as the more professional anonymous solution.

  Bytecoin is better?

Do your homework. Bytecoin was proven to be a fraud and scam with their faked time stamps and faked blockchain from "2012". "Steadily mineable"? Once again do your research those "years" of mining was faked/spoofed into fooling people like yourself into thinking that bytecoin had a legitimate launch and distribution.

ZEC is more professional? Like how they release a BS hit piece on monero hours before the April hard fork? Then claim innocence of not knowing there was a hard fork despite it being public knowledge for weeks.
Not to mention that they have a 20% dev tax and are now officially backed by one of the shadiest banking actors in modern history?

Even scammers can be professional.

I wouldn't say that is a quality I look for at the top of my list to legitimize a coin/person/business/etc.

Everyone in this space needs to take some damn responsibility of their own financial decisions including success and failures.

Relying on someone's post to make you profit is very irresponsible.

Had you made profit and the market gone up instead I suspect you would not be as disgruntled as you are now.

Check out what is used on darknet markets, then you get an idea of useful coins  Wink

monero why?

Monero can have some popularity among peoples, which like privacy. From the other point, other crypto coins also try to do this, so Monero go first, therefore it can have future in at least next three years. I think, that there are a lot of Monero users, which like this coin a lot, because of privacy.

heh no same

Monero vs DASH vs Zcash vs Bitcoin Mixers
Not all privacy-centric coins can deliver 100% privacy, untraceability, security, and fungibility in a 100% decentralized coin with a trustless setup. Here's what these attributes are and why they're important:

Private: Your finances are not visible to the public. A person looking at the coin's blockchain won't be able to see how much money you have.
Untraceable: The coins can't be traced through blockchain analysis or blockchain monitoring.
Secure: All transactions are encrypted and the wallet which holds your funds is encrypted.
Fungible: All coins are equal and have the same value.
Decentralized: All nodes (a node is a running instance of the coin's blockchain) of the network are equal. There is no superclass of nodes which have more influence or control over transactions or the system than other nodes.

Here is an analysis of the leading cryptocurriencies which feature anonymity and/or untraceability as their key differentiator. Bitcoin itself is not within the scope of this analysis since it's never claimed to be anonymous.
