Do you have some sort of a filter turned on for your PMs? I've PMed you twice.

I responded to your PM the same day. Yes, I'm still doing them.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox AML/KYC Process Explained on: December 08, 2013, 05:51:00 AM
Re-submitted even more documents to these fucking clowns. Guess that means I get to start waiting another 2+ weeks for them to get around to taking 3 seconds to look at it, and hopefully not imagine some other reason to reject it.

Anybody have any suggestions for an exchange owned/operated by somebody with some actual integrity? Gox certainly ain't it. They're either ABSURDLY incompetent, or shady as fuck. Either way, the end result is the same: They provide among the worst customer experiences ever delivered.

Bunch of feckless fucking oxygen wasters.  Roll Eyes
4  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The bitcoin divide on: December 07, 2013, 10:28:42 PM
I am not sure if these the correct forum to write this in?

I have noticed there is a huge gap that I call the bitcoin divide between the people who want to get into Bitcoin mining and the people who have been bitcoin mining for a long time that it makes it very difficult for people to jump in and get their feet wet, as well I finding there isn't a lot of good information out there to help new investors so they, like me, make silly and stupid mistakes along the way.

One of which is I sunk $15k of my own money into buying gear from local people where if I had known more about the possibilities and process to buying bitcoins at exchanges first I would have been far better off now. Right now I still see people selling Avalon ASIC B2/B3 four module miners on eBay and locally here (where I live) for 5 to $10k. Yet we all know buying them new cost 3.5B ($3500 or less) and that's shipped to your. Back when I got involved bitcoins were worth $143 and a anvy miner would costs me between $1800 and $2100 each. I believe that the resell market is driving away the potential and stability of bitcoin, people have to understand hardware is hardware it doesn't keep it's value it loses it over time.

There's PLENTY of information here on the forum. I've spent countless hours, on this forum and elsewhere, warning people about what a bad investment most mining hardware is right now, and how they'd be better off buying coins and holding them. But nobody listens. Buying coins is too boring for some people, and no matter how hard I (and countless others here) try and educate n00bs here, they just won't listen.

Don't blame a lack of info. Blame your own decision to ignore good advice.

3 weeks later, they rejected my paperwork AGAIN, with zero explanation, suggesting that I submit (among other things) my tax return information (which is what I already submitted).

What a bunch of fucking clowns.  Angry

7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox AML/KYC Process Explained on: November 30, 2013, 01:33:35 AM
It's been a few weeks and I can't get them to answer any of my inquiries about how to get my fucking money. It originally said 5 business days to process the KYC bullshit. 6 days later, it said 10 days. Well, it's been over 10 business days, and they haven't bothered to deal with it. I've got over $3k sitting waiting to withdraw (probably not a "Large amount" for some, but it's half a month's salary for me, so it's not insignificant to me), and they're holding it hostage.

I opened a ticket, got the promise of a response within 24 hours. 4 days later, the only response I got was "We will forward this to the Verification team and you will be updated on this."

4 days to get a copy/pasted canned response from some clown named "Danny"?

No wonder Japan's economy is in the shitter...  Roll Eyes

They're still several months behind on the Jalapenos,

As I said above, I have my June 30th 7GH Jalapeno already.  Don't go by Jody's blog.

Math Fail. June 30 still was several months ago, friend.  Wink
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any black friday deals on GPUs? on: November 29, 2013, 11:13:46 PM
GPUs for BTC is pretty much useless. GPUs for LTC is a bit more realistic.

The new R9 280 or 290 are pretty beefy, but I don't think they compare to the 7950 for price/performance. The 280s are still >$300, and the 7950s are almost as good for a lil cheaper.

If you read what I wrote, I specifically stated they're for litecoin mining.  Wink
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Any black friday deals on GPUs? on: November 29, 2013, 06:52:09 PM
Anybody seeing any deals on good cards for litecoin mining? Looking to pick up one or two litecoin mining cards. Nothing too serious. I picked up a GPU that does about 400mhash for about $130 this spring. Looking for as good or better in terms of mining power to cost.
11  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BFL Claims all 65nm Preorders Shipped on: November 29, 2013, 06:36:36 PM
The 50gh and 500 gh units are the only ones showing available for immediate shipping. I'd say that's consistent with what their shipping blog has been showing. They're still several months behind on the Jalapenos, but have been caught up on the others for some time now. Problem is, that price needs to drop by AT LEAST 30% before it'll be profitable.
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ASIC miners on-hand for Sale Popping Up Everywhere on: November 09, 2013, 04:16:10 PM
Bitcoin diff is going up too fast and asics or any other hardware will never ROI Sad

Depends on whether you paid cash or BTC. The price of BTC is going up too, so if you paid in fiat, a return in fiat is very possible.

Hi All, you'll be pleased to know that the last four H-boards arrived late this afternoon and are now hapily hashing away Grin (all GB members now have their shares hashing). As with the other boards I'm going to give autotune a chance to work its magic before hand tweaking the chips individually tomorrow. Unfortunately we've got some dead/dying chips in these new boards too (6 in total across all the boards), but the remaining chips should be able to compensate fairly well for this. The BFSB miner is currently running at between 188 and 192 GH/s (280 W at the wall), with some hand tuning I'm hoping to get closer to 200 GH/s, but we'll see.

DOA chips? That doesn't sound promising. Have you contacted the manufacturer to see if there are any remedy options for us?
14  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Good price at CEX.io on: October 27, 2013, 08:07:27 PM
The price of GH/s is too high now.
Maybe if you have 4-5 or 10 BTC, then yes, will have a good profit if you invest, but with small amounts of 1 BTC or even less is pointless to invest.

Not sure how you arrive at that conclusion. If it's a bad investment for <1BTC, it's a bad investment for 5BTC or 10BTC.

It never ceases to amaze me how utterly incapable the people on this forum are of doing simple math. I'd blame it on the U.S. public education system, but many of these people aren't from the US.  Roll Eyes

Is it just me or has ghash.io been working 4 hours and got nothing?

Are you not familiar with Bitcoin mining? Block 266311 took 5 hours to solve. 266261 took less than a minute. These things fluctuate and average out. Give it time to solve a few blocks. Wink
17  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: cex.io vs https://picostocks.com/stocks/view/19 on: October 27, 2013, 05:07:30 AM
Yeah - I just saw this morning - prices went from .85 GHS to .9 GHS - still every good.  Can someone tell me why it went up?  I guess I'll just hold onto the bitcoin payouts for now...waiting for it go down before I reinvest.

It's because bitcoiners (for the most part) are inexperienced n00bs/idiots who don't know how do do a basic cost/benefit analysis. They want to convert everything back into USD, even though their "profits" will only ever be in Bitcoin.

They don't understand that if it doesn't break even in BTC, it's a bad investment strategy, but they're only capable in thinking in terms of $. So when BTC is cheaper, they think "I can afford to invest more BTC". Not realizing that they're better off just buying btc and sitting on it if they're expecting BTC to go back up.

I've tried explaning this concept to a lot of people, but the truth is, most of them are idiots.

If people were intelligent, the price of hashing power would decrease with difficulty increase. It wouldn't fluctuate with the USD exchange rate like it does when the morons are involved. Then again, the real money is with playing in a market of morons. They're uber predictable, so day trading is far more profitable than mining, if you play your cards right.  Wink

In English?
19  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Anyone mining at ghash.io ? Any anecdotes ? on: October 26, 2013, 11:58:56 PM
It's a double-edged sword though. If you want to keep your payouts separate from your 'trading' money, it's not a good idea. It muddies the waters for trying to track profits. If you aren't going to do much trading, and you don't care about tracking stuff, using the same account will make life simpler. You can use the link in my signature as a thank you as well.  Grin

I know your first language isn't English, but honestly these translations are meaningless.  I have no idea what you're talking about.

My best guess is that he is saying he went and had a cigarette and when he came back to the computer, everything appears normal now. I think he's also saying that he gets text messages on his phone about his mining status as well.

Then again, I could be COMPLETELY off on all of that...
