1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GPU mining is dead now. on: July 03, 2013, 07:57:40 PM
To me, LTC is past dead and some people just cant do the math because they are stuck on their dreams of the future of LTC.
BTC is alive to ASIC, and alive to GPU if you are confident you wont break a GPU in the process.  If you do burn one out, you just lost money you will never get back at this rate of difficulty increase and ASIC taking over.

Yeah, LTC is so dead that I only make 60% more than I would mining BTC.  Roll Eyes

BTC:
1400MH/s --- 21335329 diff --- $84.26 (USD/BTC)

.03 BTC/day -- $2.77
.23 BTC/week -- $19.40
1.00 BTC/30 days -- $84.26

LTC:
1400kH/s --- 841 diff --- $2.75 (USD/LTC)

1.67 LTC/day -- $4.60
11.71 LTC/week -- $32.21
50.20 LTC/30 days -- $138.06

2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scammer] Nicksasa / notroll.in on: April 25, 2013, 12:43:39 AM
I noticed my NoTroll account haircut on April 9th, 2013, shortly after it took place. I have screenshots that I can provide, if desired, of my account balance when the LTC were first noticed missing as well as final account balance/withdraws. The reason I noticed right away was because I had been mining <1 week, NoTroll was my first pool, and I had made no withdraws from my NoTroll account. I had earned 18.57 LTC at a hair over 3 LTC/day using stratum, but my account balance suddenly dropped to 13.94. According to Niksasa, stratum miners were paid double for 14 hours - a claim for which evidence has yet to be provided. (14/24)*3 (i.e., percentage of daily hours overpaid * daily pay rate) = 1.75. That is approximately how many LTC should have been deducted from my account, not 4.63. 4.63/18.57 = .249 or ~25%, which was apparently applied to accounts across the board. I really don't care about a few LTC, but some people, who trusted this guy by leaving large sums of LTC in their notroll accounts, lost big. I actually continued to mine on NoTroll, dumb, I know, giving Nick the benefit of the doubt and a chance to make things right. It wasn't until I read his rude and ridiculous replies on this forum that I decided to GTFO as quick as possible, which actually took longer than expected due to an empty hot wallet. Nick knows and admits that miners had LTC unfairly taken (stolen) from them, yet he unapologetically takes the position that such is his right as the pool owner, and he has made no effort to provide means of recourse to those affected. I think a scammer tag is, at the very least, owed by us to his future potential miners.

Yeah, i don't understand this 4 hours thing.  I've been here more than 4 hours---days even, but apparently only time I spend posting counts toward my hours?  So I guess I need to post a lot more....

If you spend too much time idle on a page, it probably won't count towards your total time logged in. I'd guess it's calculated using the intervals between your page views unless the time between two page views reaches a threshold at which they'd consider you idle. I.e., if you read a page called "Check Out My New Rig [PICS]" for 3 minutes and then navigate somewhere else, it will probably count towards your time. If you view a thread called "Litecoin/cgminer Installation Walkthrough" and spend 30min reading huge posts and going through the installation procedure without navigating anywhere else, it probably won't count towards your time logged in. Otherwise, you could just be afk in a thread for 4 hrs and have 4 hrs logged in.

still funny to see these posts...
people actually posting gibberish just to rank up.
People are posting gibberish to earn the right to post. They also must browse the site for 4 hours. This is to prevent spam. However, the former creates spam, and the latter can easily be overcome by a spammer using the 5 minutes of spare time required to create a macro.

I wish I had just registered from the beginning.  I have spent many (uncounted) hours lurking around these parts.
