Seems like it's another case of fake news.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Send ETH to ICO with to much gas, keeps bouncing on: May 31, 2017, 12:39:35 PM
Don't think anything can be done if it keeps bouncing around the network. Can we see the transaction ID so we can get a clearer picture of the situation?
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: do you ever get tired of the stupidity of people on here? on: May 31, 2017, 12:33:06 PM
but i'll never understand anyone who asks that 200% question. they would never consider the same thing in dollars being legit. it's like they leave their sense at the door.

It's normal for people who are new to making money online to get overly excited and jump at the dumbest "opportunity" for a quick and "guaranteed" profit. I remember days when I asked the same sorts of questions. Saw a deepweb online shop that claimed to sell Iphones at about 20% of the retail price. Immediately I pictured myself getting rich from re-selling those at say 60%. I went to whatever reddit handled deepweb stuff back then and asked about the website. Sure enough everybody laughed at me, but when the guy who ran the site himself came and urged me to send him money on trust alone my scam senses tingled.

Better to ask a dumb question than fall into the trap of Nigerian Princes and Princesses Cheesy

Heres a better question what if you got 50,000 BTC in your wallet then the wallet becomes corrupted and you lose them all?

I'd probably sell everything I own, donate it to the poor and start wandering the world aimlessly or join a monastery. Normally I'm not a superstitious or religious person, but winning $100 million and then losing them like this would be a clear sign to me that I'm not meant to be rich - that something/someone up there doesn't want me to succeed.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ripple worth taking the chance? on: May 28, 2017, 07:23:27 PM
Ripple is only hot at the moment cause it's pumping hard and because of the recent bubble. Once hype dies out it will fall into obscurity. Also heard that the consortium of banks behind it is falling apart with each of them wanting to create their own coin.

I see no big problem in adding it to your exchange though. I don't think exchanges are in the position to lose anything by a move like this. Certainly Polo don't seem to care, so it can't be that dangerous.
6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mark Zuckerberg: Free Money for Everyone on: May 27, 2017, 02:44:27 PM
What a pathetic attempt at virtue signaling. If Zuckerberg is serious about the universal basic income then it's time to put up or shut up! He's a billionaire, he could easily provide for several thousand people and have enough money to have a normal life Grin

It will all die out eventually. We've still got almost 4 years of Trump presidency ahead of us. By the end this whole Russian circus will be long forgotten. There will be something new they'll be using to attack him Cheesy
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple is in major trouble on: May 25, 2017, 01:53:21 PM
There are banks which are quitting the R3 consortium too. Looks like the banks want to have their individual, patented blockchain applications.  Tongue

This is great as divided they are not such a threat to the future of crypto economy. Competition between many such projects will keep their prices low and thus investors won't be too interested in them hopefully. Any centralized project like XRP becoming a top currency is bad for us in the long run. Goodbye Ripple, you won't be missed!
9  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sir Roger Moore, James Bond actor, is no more on: May 24, 2017, 02:10:31 PM
Rest in peace agent 007! He'll always be one of the best topped only by the man himself Sean Connery. After Moore the whole series went into a downward spiral of decline. These movies used to have charismatic lead actors and be cheesy lighthearted fun. Neither Pierce Brosnan nor Daniel Craig are good enough and the movies started taking themselves way too seriously especially in the past decade.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: is emoticon decoration or poluition on: May 24, 2017, 02:00:47 PM
I think they're pretty useful, humans receive something better when it's represented visually. When I see a laughing emoticon at the end of a sentence I know that the person is laughing(happily or sarcastically) which brings further meaning to what he said. It's pollution when they are used multiple times and actually spammed. You can rarely use like two of them just to reinforce the feeling you're trying to show, but three and above is too much.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who is the most powerful politicians? on: May 23, 2017, 10:22:38 AM
The most powerful politicians are not politicians at all. Aside from all the conspiracy theories business and big money is what controls politics. Great leaders get elected by having their campaign funded by companies and magnates, just like Hillary's campaign was being funded by Arab sheikhs among others. That's why it's good to have a rich guy in the lead who doesn't need such financial injections and is independent.
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: What comes to your mind when you think of Japan? on: May 21, 2017, 07:38:07 AM
That tv show I think it was called "Japan Today" or something like that. It was a mashup of small documentaries about different things. From advancements in science to local festivals in Japanese prefectures. Video quality always makes it look like it was shot in the 80s but they actually show current stuff which makes it most awkward.
