HELP!

I'm new to this, and confused a bit - a couple of questions please!

I use MOONCOIN CORE WALLET.
I can see my mooncoin balance and I am able to send them.

Question 1:

How do I see or find my Private Key?

Question 2:

Is my Private Key and wallet password all I need to "backup" my wallet?

Question 3:

Are the actual Mooncoins on the Blockchain accessible by using a wallet and private key, or do mooncoin totals reside in the wallet?

Thanks for any answers!

Yes.

A few years back I had found an article that described a survey they took regarding the names of all these alt coins.  The name "Moon" came out on top.  A link to the article is already posted on Mooncoin's webpage.

Excellent!

The MOON is rising!

I have found this to be one of the key selling points.  I have described mooncoin to fellow coders, and some marketers.  One of the points they like is the fact that they can have many mooncoins.  ...  Most will not be impressed to say they just bought 0.002 bitcoins, but most will be happy to say they just bought a thousand mooncoins, or a million coins.

I realize its just a perception thing, but a lot of products are bought based on emotions.

I think that's correct.

I also think different coins will be popular, to some degree, simply for what each represents.

For example, Purina might want to offer incentives to cat owners to buy Purina Cat Food, and could offer 100,000 KittenCoins (Symbol: MEOW) to buy their products or visit their website.

The Elephant Coin (ELP) could be popular to promote zoos.

The Krugercoin (KGC) could be given away by gold and silver bullion dealers, to attract new customers.

Mooncoin could be very popular to different people who consider the moon to have cultural or spiritual significance.

The point is - apart from any technological advantage of the coin, the symbolism of the coin itself may have it's own appeal and value.

It will take at least a year for MOON to be listed on Bittrex

In dog years or people years?

Hey - Newbie here...

I just opened an account at novaexchange.

They recommend me to "enable MFA" on my account.

To "activate" Google Authenticator (MFA / 2FA),

they ask me to enter my "MFA code"

BUT, I have no clue how to find my MFA code.

Any advice how I can do this?

Thanks!

hey my friend, use 2FA on every account you have, incl your email, strong passwords etc etc. When you see MFA its the same as 2FA, that confused me once pretty good.
Buy Moon, Hold Moon, Welcome to Mooncoin.    Shes better than Doge in my opinion, no reason Moon cant one day be 1/2 or even a similar value.
Well done Dev on last lot of moonworks. Its midnight his time, maybe i could throw a rock on his roof or we just wait.

My problem is that I'm a newbie to "2FA" too!

So, my MFA Code is the same as my "2FA" ?

But, I still don't know what they want me to type in, or how to "enable" this.

Anything else you can tell me?

Thanks.

Maybe this helps to clear it up a little bit?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-factor_authentication

2FA or MFA via phone means that you are required to input a code that your phone generates, to prove to the website, that you are really the one allowed to access the account. This is usually done via an app. But it could also be had via an SMS, the website sends to your registered cellphone number. So you can look at the SMS and type in the code to get access.

Many sites use Google authenticator: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Authenticator

Thanks for the additional info. I understand it now...

BUT, there don't seem to be any step-by-step instructions for setting it up in NovaExchange, other than asking you to enter the damn code.

I don't know what else to do ... other than sending them an e-mail for further instructions.

This is so goddamn frustrating!!!!!!!

Maybe this part from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Authenticator is relevant:

Quote
To log into a site or service that uses two-factor authentication, the user provides user name and password to the site and runs the Authenticator app. The app displays an additional six-digit one-time password and transmits it to the site, which asks the user what that password is.

It says: "the user provides user name and password to the site and runs the Authenticator app"

So, is this "Authenticator app" suppose to be on my phone already - or is this something I need to download and run on my phone?

I feel I'm getting closer to the solution one millimeter at a time.

You help is appreciated.

Hi, You need to install the google authenticator app on your phone.
With that app you can scan the QR code on nova.
The app will give you a 6 digit MFA code every 30 seconds or so.
Enter that code to for in nova.
Also I believe you also need to enter your normal nova password, and maybe your pin.

That was it.

I didn't even know I needed to do this app thing! (BTW, First time I ever downloaded an app! That's how primitive I am with this stuff!)

Thank You Very MUCH!!!

HELP!

I've got Mooncoin Core Wallet, and it has worked well, but now it doesn't seem to finish loading. I get the message...

"No block Source Available"

The green processing bar says, "3 hours behind"

but it is stuck.

Is there a known solution to this problem?

Thanks,
IsleofMoon

Same happening to my wallet it is stuck at 3 hours behind

Just add this to your mooncoin.conf

addnode=5.9.39.9
addnode=213.169.33.11
addnode=54.203.38.135
addnode=50.204.87.222
addnode=157.161.128.59
addnode=5.45.105.66
addnode=46.105.39.103
addnode=37.120.168.233

Thanks midmir! I really appreciate your reply.

I actually didn't even have a mooncoin.conf file, so I just created a new one with those addnodes.

Guys. There is so many Moon coins. Do you think this coin can go up to 5 cents a coin eventually?

It's so early in the history of cryptocurrencies, why wouldn't it hit 5 cents or more? Maybe later this year or next?

Admittedly, I am somewhat ignorant of how these things work. But I'm a gambler ... if you can get a lot of something extremely cheap.... well, I like to take a long-shot bet now and then.

And then I look at the website, mooncoin.com... It was just totally upgraded in the past few months, and it looks MANY TIMES better than it did, and it looks very credible.

And it looks like there's a real effort and project behind it to make this a serious, respectable, investable coin. At least that's my impression.

I'm also thinking the association with the moon gives it special appeal, to many different people and cultures, for a lot of different reasons.
