Thanks for the replies, so can all enlighten me on storing bitcoins. I don't want you to think im lazy but this stuff is like Chinese to me. I read a bunch on it but it seems like if an article or thread is just two months old then it might as well be ancient history because it probably doesn't even apply to today. So what are my most cost efficient ways of storing? what are the safest ways?

One other question. I made an account just now on coinbase and I couldn't see where I could buy stuff like maidsafe or ripple just bitcoin. I apologize that im not up to date with the lingo in this market yet... where do I go to purchase these? lol its just a bunch of info that im trying to devour at once. Hell getting into buying and selling US stocks was like 2+2=4 but this is not currently for me   

So RodeoX you're saying that you cant make money or treat this like stocks?
I have no interest in buying just a bitcoin to buy stuff online. Maybe I wasn't clear in my original post. I am looking to buy and sell as an investor, not buy them to shop. Is that not a feasible market or idea? Does nobody do this?
Not to sound insulting but the difference between getting casino chips and cryptocurriencies is that tomorrow or next week when I go to cash in my chips they will be worth the exact same amount every hour of every day of every week as when I first got them 

Ok, so me and a friend have been discussing getting into the cryptocurriency market. What peaked our interest is that a few years ago he had about 115 Bitcoins and sold them for about $1.50. LOL he is kicking himself pretty hard right now. However we have been reading and looking into it again the last couple weeks and are very interested just would like some opinions.
1. How many people actually make money with this? I dabble in stocks and have friends and family that make decent supplemental income so we were looking into this.
2. Any advice or recommendations on which places to buy and how to store my currencies would greatly be appreciated. We are looking to just buy, store, and sell. Not interested in mining at the current time anyway.
3. How hard is it to actually sell when you are ready, as in are there enough buyers out there. It seems to be just like stocks however I am not sure.

I just was looking at ones that have a low circulating amount and lower price tag.
4. Also we aren't investing 20K at the current time. roughly about 3K. So we have kind of thought about the Shotgun method of just taking our 3k and buying about 10 different ones and selling them when we feel the time is right or we are satisfied with the return. Is that a viable option in this market?
We have been looking at this for about 4 months now but only the last two weeks seriously, we just are kicking the hell out of ourselves right now because we looked at Ethereum and Ethereum classic and Litecoin and see had we jumped on it then that we would have done well for ourselves. I know I am going to get some negative feedback and that's ok, I want the honest truth about this market.
