not changed volts...

any idea how to get more MH / more efficiency / more stability?

i'm getting a video scheduler internal error when it quits at the moment - but have had other msgs

it's quite temperamental. i'm using the PC for browsing, etc while it's mining.... it often turns itself off and when it comes back on a radeon wattman error appears saying it reset settings to default!!

Yo

So, Running 2 x MSi Reference RX480 8GBs but experiencing a fair bit of crashing and reboots due to Radeon Wattman resetting default settings..

I put a memshift BIOS from Anorak on the cards.

Latest version of windows 10 pro.

Not sure which AMD driver I should be using for best results??

I'm only getting 23/24MH - So know I can be doing better.

What am I doing wrong guys?
Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide to not only increase my hashrate but increase importantly - stability & uptime!

Thanks Cheesy

anyone?

Hi Guys

I did a clean install, removed all the cards and risers, put one card in the main PCI slot.

I flashed the standard BIOS to the card.

Ran DDU. Disabled driver update. As soon as I install an AMD driver the system goes buggy, black screens, blue screens with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or another atigk.sys or something error

Tried everything from scratch, clean install - as soon as I install then AMD driver I get errors.

So I decided one last time I would fresh install, mod the cards to a memshift BIOS version 1 by 1 and go back to ethOS and see if this driver issue would persist there, however ->

During the install of windows from USB the computer turned itself off with a blue screen and graphics related error! Does this mean that it's hardware?

Motherboard?

Help Please! Smiley

Thanks Guys.

Hopefully I'll be able to get a working BIOS on the cards tonight!!

anyone know a good BIOS for the RX470 Sapphire 4GB Hamster Wheel? Or at least one that stood a good chance of working?

are you sure you flashed back the original bios files for each cards ?
Did you saved the original bios file for each cards separately ( marked cards like 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , and saved bios file for each cards like saved bios 1 , saved bios 2 ...., and reflashed the cards with the proper saved bios ? saved bios 1 to card 1 , saved bios 2 to card 2 , saved bios 3 to card 3 ...
Those cards might have a different original bios number version , and might not interchangeable with each other !!!
RX 470 /480 cards from the same manufacturer with the same model number can have a different bios file version number . I have many msi / sapphire rx 480/470 cards with same modell number , but different bios version number  ...

Did you modded your own bios files ? or downloaded from somewhere ? Are those cards have a dual bios or not ?
what crimson driver are u using ? what operation system ?
if you have a modded bios and using the latest amd driver , your system need a driver patch to recognize the cards or you going to the device driver error.

"The error is: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the computer goes to the blue screen and restarts"
This error usually occurs after the installation of a buggy device driver, system service, or incorrect BIOS ( incorrect bios settings on the mobo , or incorrect bios on ur  vga card )

Hi... Thanks for responses

I ran DDU directly after a clean install - this stops the drivers auto updating. Then I installed Crimson 16.11.5 Driver.

I only took the original BIOS from one card, the first one.. modified it, then flashed that BIOS to all of the other cards. Then I took the original BIOS I backed up and flashed that to all of the cards. How can I fix this?

I have Windows 10 Home on the Rig. I created my own BIOS following this guide: https://steemit.com/mining/@jsfoo8/basic-guide-mining-ethereum-with-rx400-rx500-gpus

The IRQL issue is what I am getting on all cards, even when they are in the Rig on their own.

it could be riser cable, or pcie slot on mobo is damage or even your gpu is damaged
hamster wheel rx470 is the cheapest rx470, they use lower quality component, if you want safe run, you need to run the fans at 100% all the time

Could also be that you're not getting enough power.

You need to test each component. One thing at a time.
Test all your risers
Test one card at a time
Test different PSUs

Normal PC troubleshooting. Start with the most common things, though; riser, psu, single card.

Thanks guys..

I have taken all the cards out and put them back in one by one. I have used a different USB cable between the main board and the cards and different risers.
The issue is the same on all cards - only 3 cards were flashed as ATIflash could only see 3 cards.

The error is: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the computer goes to the blue screen and restarts

All of the cards have the original BIOS on them now and appeared to work one by one and produced the same hashrate as they did initially.

IRQL is normally memory? I tested  the memory I think it's OK - any ideas what I am looking at here? Motherboard???!

I have put the original BIOS on all cards. Reformatted, fresh install, ran DDU, installed the GPU driver, ran claymore on each card individually and they all go to black screen / blue screen in a few minutes after mining commences.

Please guys any ideas or help much appreciated x

Hi Guys,

I recently got into mining and I've got 5 x RX470 4GB Sapphire (Hamster Wheel) in a mining rig and 2 x RX480 MSi 8GB in my PC.

I followed this guide and with some tweaks in Claymore 9.3 was getting a much increased hash rate on both systems:

https://steemit.com/mining/@jsfoo8/basic-guide-mining-ethereum-with-rx400-rx500-gpus

After an hour or two both machines had hard crashed. Both machines didn't work properly at all after the crash.

With the PC I was able to re-flash the original BIOS onto the cards, change the drivers in device manager and started from fresh install but now after a few hours the computer crashes to a black screen and needs to be turned off to come back online. Is there a fix for this?! It would be great to increase the machine's uptime to expedite ROI! How do I get it running more stable?

With the rig it seems to be a lot worse, I have reflashed the BIOS but Claymore still couldn't see the cards after and Windows is giving error code 43 - problems with device - even after uninstalling the device, drivers, clean install. Now it won't even go into windows fresh install! Does anyone know what I can do?

Thanks Guys Smiley
