1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 35000+ funded addresses. LTC, then DOGE, then MOON! on: June 22, 2017, 12:21:36 AM
In my opinion, rather yes, 1 vote per 1 person, no matter how many MOON he owns (on the other hand, if it's an extremely low amount, a person really might not care too much about whether his decision affects MOON or not, it depends on the general responsibility of a person though, however an user with a lot of MOON anyway will be more careful in his decisions),
also an important question is how can we be sure that there are no fake accounts?
At least here I know old members, I know their accounts are not fake and they almost ALL (who posted) didn't support a new logo proposal for MOON.
It was a good initiative to organize the contest, and now we have a winning logo proposal, but may be it should be improved?
People will agree with a variant which is really great, if they don't support it now, something is wrong.

Of course, democracy is great, but in my opinion there should be also some respect from newcomers to people who had been supporting MOON for years,
and at least newcomers should take into account their opinion, these people saw things and never will recommend or support something bad for Mooncoin.

I agree with you here on the most part. However both nico and vegasmoon barely post. I can't find much of their history apart from a lot of involvement in other coins.

You and I know who really did a lot of the hard work for mooncoin, and I respect the way you are dealing with things, quite wise words. I will happily discuss with yourself, agswinner, coinflow about changes and positive ways to make them happen.

I will not deal with nico and vegasmoon due to their complete disinterest in interacting with the community much in the past (unless they identify old accounts that did play a part in mooncoin).

Is there a way forward from this you see possible? The discord community is very attached to the new logo and the ANN community is very attached to nico's logo. Can we theoretically use them both?

Also in regards to nico's childish insults and emoticons about people's work. Grow up. Discuss things like an adult, and don't stoop to ad hom. and strawman arguments.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 35000+ funded addresses. LTC, then DOGE, then MOON! on: June 22, 2017, 12:12:41 AM
For anyone worried about joining the above discord:

1. I will not just 'ban' or 'kick' you, and neither will the other admins.

2. The chat history of #moon_polls is fully open and available for anyone to read (albeit with some deleted messages likely). You can see what happened and how things progressed to the point where I needed to remove both vegasmoon (vegasguy for those that don't know him) and nico.

These two are free to come back in, I haven't even banned them, merely kicked them.

3. We're not some authoritarian brigade wanting to assume control over mooncoin. We want to use our combined expertise, creativity and motivation to help make mooncoin an amazing digital currency and altruistic innovation. If anyone wanted me or the admins to step down at any point I would do so via a poll and relinquish control to the next best person. Democracy.

I personally want to work on the history of mooncoin, help educate people on it's positive features, and remain out of this discussion over the logo from this point as there are too many people involved.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 35000+ funded addresses. LTC, then DOGE, then MOON! on: June 21, 2017, 11:59:53 AM
Who said holding more MOON puts anyone above the rest? Democracy is about equality - no matter if you have 1000, a million or a billion coins.

That is, you say - we do not care about investors and their money! What we will solve here in a narrow circle, and we will not ask your opinion, and if we ask, we do not care how much you invested. The vote of the person who invested $ 0.01 in the MOON == vote of the person who invested $ 100000 in the MOON? Are you serious? The level of risk in making a decision is not comparable. You will scare away all potential big investors. Someone wants to invest big money in MOON after that?

Why are you invested in moon? The idea of moon, well the original idea was for it to be a currency for all. Now it seems the demands of a few dominate the coin and it has become just another altcoin.

You want to push away people actively wanting to contribute to something in a fair and democratic way like the initial mission of mooncoin?

You're doing a great job at it. And actively causing far more damage than a simple logo change would!

"What has this moon discord done for moon"

If you look around and participate you would know. Talk to the devs who actually come in and talk with a community.

This ANN is a silly place for debate and discussion. This thread is for announcements, and general information on moon. A chat room like Slack or discord is far more efficient to discuss ideas and work with devs.

I have personally finished summarizing the entire previous ANN (517 pages, 11000+ posts) into 20 odd pages of a word document filled with a brief summary and many links to important historical events in mooncoin, many important people and previous issues like this one moon has faced and come through after removing the toxic elements.

Feel free to come in and check it out if you'd like.

I know its hard for you to consider more than one concept at a time or make obvious connections between things, its OK, Ive come to accept that. Please stop asking me to reply to your mentally retarded comments where you try to re-explain what never made sense in the first place. I'm a person with a life. Thank goodness Mooncoin is bigger than Littlestan and his sidekick jAssperrr, who are obviously 2 concepts that haven't been implemented yet. Or at least could be aborted for the good of the community.

Reminder: Vote for ANY logo with a Moon...Reject ALL logos without a Moon. Thank you. DO NOT EXPECT A RESPONSE FROM ME. I've stated my case clearly. NO MOON, NO SUCCESS. I have 100 other worthwhile things to invest my time and money in that don't require me to cast pearls unto swine. Aside from these few asshats, I met a LOT of great people thru Mooncoin for which Im grateful. Good luck to ALL. Over and out.

Why do you continue to evade my questions then? I don't understand why you reply to the others, but evade my actual discussion points...

A constructive reply to my post would be great Vegasmoon.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 35000+ funded addresses. LTC, then DOGE, then MOON! on: June 21, 2017, 12:17:17 AM

So although he is fond of the old logo more, at least agswinner is open to discussion and not openly dismissive.

Im open to any discussion of any logo which CONTAINS A MOON. Anything without a moon is a total failure and unacceptable for a coin called MOONCOIN. The Moon is one of the most loved and popular symbols in the entire world. Including by people who dont speak Engrish and dont care whatsoever about a letter M with a slash through it. Its almost impossible to improve upon the Moon, its THAT well loved! This is not rocket science, its common sense to people with a brain who actually use it. Period.

If the original is somehow not good enough.... Let's make a great MOON logo that people will instantly say "Oh that obviously must be Mooncoin." FYI that IS the purpose of a logo, instant recognition of your product. So then just maybe we might get back to actually making the coin have real-world value to investors and users. I can promise you 1 thing.... no moon in the logo, NO LONGTERM SUCCESS. Do you want to be a loser, or a winner? Vote for any logo which contains a moon and reject all that do not. Thank you. --a serious investor and friend of Mooncoin

The idea behind the M, was that it is a currency symbol, which MOON is. People in foreign cultures may not use the word "moon" for the moon, but identify it with a character such as in China and Japan (large investors in cryptocurrencies right now)

http://imgur.com/a/0yM9G

Alongside many other variation and words. So yes, the M can be vague in the beginning. What about all the other cryptocurrencies and company logos that are vague until you learn more? It also encourages people to become curious on what this particular symbol means, and actively promotes interest.

Now if we dismiss this and go for the moon option then I agree with some old comments.

First, regarding the initial logo, the moon is not really identified with a golden colour. That logo, while quite eye catching promotes gold, associated with avarice or greed. Bad. Also the words (to the moon) around the side are a bit out of date and not really what moon is just about anymore.

Next, is Niko's logo. Simplistic can work sometimes, but it really doesn't stand out as a strong logo. It's serene, peaceful. It implies this thought process to me personally, "Let's just sit here, wait for great things to happen for us, as this is the moon!"

Here is a good explanation of what the moon means and is associated with in another culture for instance:

http://www.cycleharmony.com/stories/everyday-goddesses/hina-the-hawaiian-moon-goddess

The moon also controls our tide, it is a powerful presence. It has many effects on out ecosystem, and without it there would be an array of extreme natural movements.

I see the moon as a symbol of strength, courage, and solidarity. Think a wolf pack howling at the moon.
There is DESIRE for the moon, to one day reach out and touch it. It provides a light in the dark for those to see and move.

Nico's logo expresses none of this to me. And although Larrimar's logo is not really a symbol of the moon, it stands out as strong, competitive and sophisticated.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 35000+ funded addresses. LTC, then DOGE, then MOON! on: June 20, 2017, 11:15:01 PM
People that think this period of discussion is 'toxic' need to go and read the old ANN, at least the first 300 pages  Wink

mooncoin had so much drama at the beginning, right through until September, as Deaconboogie had gone AWOL

Now, the people who held this coin together over that period were primarily coinflow, agswinner, Redjedievolution.

agswinner did a lot to get us on bleutrade, where I think most of the volume has gone.

coinflow acted as a great community manager over the period where there was none. Years even.

Redjedievolution invested a heap into bringing the coin back to life from 2 litoshi, though maybe at his own financial interest, it still benefited the coin as a whole and kept it alive.

There of course were many others who contributed time and effort over the last few years I haven't mentioned, but maybe if these other veteran people were allowed to weigh in on the direction of mooncoin, there would be a lot more fairness. Not just the two who currently oppose change.

Even agswinner commented before

The logo has nothing to do with the moon, remove the inscription "MOONCOIN" and nobody will guess about the moon. Absolutely inexpressive. From the category "order 100 business cards and get a logo as a gift".

I agree.
The new logo proposal is not bad in general, but every coin which name starts with 'M' could use this logo.
The logo should be simple, but not only simple, it should be linked to the Moon theme.
The Blue Moon logo matches the idea.

Edit: maybe to use the new logo for Moonlite (ML)?

Agree.

Yes, I also agree.

👍

and

You lied by saying you didn't know about the logo contest, but you direct messaged me on the Discord the day the contest was started.

So you did know about it.

You then further lied by saying you didn't have time to say anything about the logo and repeated you didn't know about the contest and that
*you had never been on the Discord*

You did, and you had been. To direct message me, remember?

You lied by saying you provided a bigger part of the C-CEX fund when I personally donated near a half BTC of that myself, with others
putting in as well. Thank you for your contribution by helping out there, but you didn't put in as much as you claimed to in the conversation
on the Discord.

So:

My message:

"Nico - 10/06/2017
And what do not you like about the current logo?"

Then there was not your chosen logo, there were some others, I was surprised by the fact of choice, I thought the question was solved. Your discordapp.com requires presence, I do not have time for this. I could easily miss.

New logo "Larrimar - 06/12/2017 "

Your lies.

"You lied by saying you provided a bigger part of the C-CEX fund when I personally donated near a half.
Putting in as well. There you are, but in the conversation
On the Discord. "

You are lying.

I donated 0.98 BTC to vote in C-CEX.

I'm waiting for an apology.
Honestly, I'm tied to the old logo, but the new is  innovation, it's good, and it may have changed 😀

So although he is fond of the old logo more, at least agswinner is open to discussion and not openly dismissive.

For those interested, I've been diligently scouring the old ANN to write up moon's history up to the present.

It's a WIP and it will be very rough, mainly bullet pointed links to relevant posts, but eventually I hope to build a proper report/essay out of this so the community and anyone else interested can see what happened to shape mooncoin, and who helped to create the foundations for the new community.
I'll try and have a rough draft up tomorrow, if not by the end of the week.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 35000+ funded addresses. LTC, then DOGE, then MOON! on: June 20, 2017, 08:30:05 AM
They accused me of being you. ( Oh and I was there maybe 8 minutes total? The internet is a scary place I tell ya.)
GO Mooncoin!!!

In general, this is a good question - what did this "Moon Discord group" do for Mooncoin in recent weeks, they can show something, except words? Well, in order to talk more substantively. Or just attracting hamsters to buy (I do not mind - it's also very important! Smiley )?

You're quite the malicious one aren't you.

Well, here's proof you tried to manipulate your own image into first place. Lets see how many of these look legit...

About 4 or 5.

Now, about your tactful approach to showing your concern about having a new logo

So I ask all of you in here, please tell me which of you this offends? There was never any offense intended.

In fact, Evangelo suggested this poll, the marketing director of moon. We merely supported his idea to the best of our ability.

Please send some btcs (even a small amount) to their voting address for MOON,
the community already agreed to raise 0.966 btc only 0.1 btc left to raise to win in this round.

When it exspires?

The vote never expires, but if we can get through this time round we'd shave a week a or more of waiting for it to be listed!

How much to win now?

HumanIQ: 1066
Mooncoin: 815

Though MCF mentioned above the community has agreed to 966, so we may see that bump up soon. (Takes at least one confirmation I think)

James joined us on discord last night (I was asleep sadly), and they had a great discussion over a few mooncoin topics

Feel free to join, check the pins for James' messages and have a read. Initially a very volatile community, it has now become stable, friendly, and motivated.

Amazing work James!

I'll put it up on the blog and get word out.

I'm currently compiling information on smartlikes and moonword from older posts (Reading the ANN in it's entirety has been really interesting, I advise everyone to do so if they have the time.)

Once I've got my head FULLY around the processes involved and its possible uses, I'll write up a post targeted at the less tech savvy audience.

The Mooncoin volume at Bleutrade today is huger than Dogecoin's and Ethereum's volume combined.
https://bleutrade.com/exchange/MOON/BTC

This is great. People are focusing too much on the 160 vol we had last week, but a more consistent lower volume makes it seem more like a legitimate investment at this stage.

Looks like Bleutrade exit scammed.

Bye bye Moonshot. Should have got my millions out ASAP.

You should probably check again.

Thank you for your initiatives.
The Mooncoin Exchange Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/833216996835617/
and http://moonchan.org/ were added to the OP.

Thanks!

I will try to keep information up to date and relevant. It will generally be paraphrases of any information your team releases.

New blog which will be built up soon with resources and explanations on the features of mooncoin.

http://moonchan.org/

I want to make this as educational as possible, so a lot of terminology and technology used in the cryptocurrency world will be explained as best as possible to try and help those new to the scene.

The site's a bit retro right now, and built on wordpress, but I have people interested in forming one from scratch, with data showing growth and prices on exchanges etc. Possibly a calculator to convert Moon > BTC > fiat (which we have running in our chat)

However I am in agreement with Mooncoin_Foundation, I don't want people to become obsessed with the possible money potential, and would prefer them to focus on the technological potential.

Any feedback is welcome.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 35985+ funded addresses! LTC, then DOGE, then MOON! on: May 27, 2017, 07:28:24 AM
Alright, thought I'd better pop in and go over some of the activity in the past three days.

Originally a small group of us came across mooncoin in a thread on 4chan's /biz/ board, which surprisingly consisted of solid information on the coin and relevant links. Also a promising coin, sitting at 1 sat? Seemed interesting with the recent developments of coins like RDD and DGB.

We started a discord (https://discord.gg/D57cx8) to gather information and generate a bunch of hype. A few members invested 2-3 BTC worth at 1sat and after about 6 hours we had 30+ members and had helped to bring the coin up to 2sat.

The following day the walls kept falling and interest kept increasing, though many people were in it for the pump and then the obvious dump at 4/5 sat.
We had 150 members at this point, but as the coin fell many people bailed with their quick gains, leaving a lot of people stranded with 3-4 sat buy ins, but still hopeful of future increase.

The majority of people left are in this for the longer term investment, and are actively creating content including copious amounts of pictures, alongside a few people planning to get some informative mining videos on Youtube and create a blog with updates and information.

Assuming this is alright with the devs, we'd like to continue forward and see what the future brings to this coin with a bit of hard work.

I did message James earlier and we swapped a couple of messages, but I thought I'd make our own personal goals clearer here.

The group itself is still quite disorganized, but its been a lot of fun so far, and many people who are new to crypto trading have learned quite a bit about how the market works. Of course there is still much to be done in regards to making a tidy appearance and ensuring no false information is spread, but we are working towards being an honest, open, and for-the-people community.

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated!

Zareeth.

Curious. There's a lot of automation possibly going on with this wallet
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/moon/address.dws?768300.htm

With this idea of keeping the coins in the hands of the people, is this not frowned on?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOON] Mooncoin 🌙 35985+ funded addresses! LTC, then DOGE, then MOON! on: May 25, 2017, 12:50:53 PM
Hello! I have a mooncoin electrum wallet.
But I just get the massage "not connected" down in the left corner.

What can I do to solve this? I have money that was sent to this adress a week ago. Will they still be in the wallet?

Thx for answer:)

I had trouble with this too. Devs might know why.

Try Mooncoin core for now.
