How does one go about undervolting the RAM and GPU? I am using Claymore in EthOS.

Does anyone know why Gigabyte Aorus or MSI RX580s are using almost 180W per card once mining ETH at 1425 clock and 2175 mem with flashed BIOS just copying 1750 timing values to 2000. If I use stock clocks the cards still eat around 160W, where this video shows the same exact cards and timings get 110W per card. I think I'm doing something wrong.
My card is an rx 580 8GB, samsung memories.
I had :
-24.5 MH/s out of the box.
-27.1 @ 2220 @ 0.95
Now I have:
-29.2 @ 2230 @ 0.95 with 1750 into 2000 straps.
I think I should be able to squeeze something more but going higher with ram speeds will crash my system regardless of voltage.
You can't set voltage for memory. 2230 is pretty high, you have good memory. You need performance timings like Uber-mix. Matthev I am using the BIOS you sent me for RX580 GIGABYTE with 8GB Samsung memory. I am getting around 29.5MH/s now. My core is set to 1300 and memory to 2000 like you said. Can I push anything more out of these cards or nah? If so how? |

How could I now undervolt or increase the hashrate on my RX580 (Samsung Memory)? It is going at ~27.5MH/s. Any pointers where I can read about it?
You can either use Msi afterburner or any other gpu software. If you use Claymore Miner, you can use the -cvdcc option to set the voltage. -cvdcc 900 = 0.9v etc As soon as I switched to claymore miner in EthOS, my hashrate went to 30MH/s stable. What is the advantage of claymore otherwise, is there a need to set the voltage if I am getting 30MH/s with just claymore or is it possible to get more somehow with GIGABYTE RX580 8GB Samsung? Why are there another place to put the wallet address, does local.config overwrite that? Thank you so much everyone! |

So, this was definetely something in MSI fucking things up. Once I flashed the card again and left GEN2 on in BIOS, it is now going at 28MH/s. Mem at 2000 and clock at 1300. Is there a way to get it to 30? Or pipedream?

Decoding info I saw, but dont understand it, dont know what these values mean.
So ubermix will work also on RX 470 4GB with Samsung memory?
I have also 470s with Hynix and Micron, if you want to test it, let me know...
I have Uber-Mix 3.1 on RX 480 8GB and RX 470 4GB they mining almost same on XMR. I will PM you file with timings, you can test them all and let me know which one is best. It's decoded from HEX but also those numbers and letters like 777000A means lot of things, there is another tool to decode this to correct specs. It looks like this. CMD_DLY = 0 And so on it's long  So, I have used the BIOS provided and I verified in GPU-Z that the memory is DDR5 (SAMSUNG) on all cards. Bad news. Somehow it is STILL hashing only at 17MH/s now! Even if I restore to original BIOS which was actually exported from ATI Flash and not GPU-Z. Now, what doesn't make sense is how come it does not return to the original hash rate even though I flashed to the original BIOS. Additionally, I did update to EthOS 1.2.2 from 1.2.1 and everything went smooth. Does modifying BIOS in Windows also require special configuration in EthOS (I assume so and I do have global mem set to 1250 and just set globalcore to 2000).
I am completely lost as to what is going on. I do have 3 more identical cards sealed in the box which I am going to open, benchmark to check if they get to 24MH/s and extract the BIOS to hopefully restore to 24 and not lose money by being down.

I don't mine ETH neither have RX 5xx series and ETHOS... It should work if this bios is correct one. Try 1300MHz clock and 2000Mhz memory this should be running like hell. Could you try to mining in Windows? Also in Windows you maybe need wipe drivers after flashing. It sometimes doesn't work very well. Try flash orig bios, reboot, then modded one and also run DDU. Reboot and install AMD drivers, apply patch and reboot again. If it's still not working there is problem with card or with bios. I just got a new card out of the box and it mines at 16-17MH/s as well. Not sure what the hell happened but somehow I went from shitty low 24MH/s when I was hoping to get 28-29 to 16. |

This has to be related to EthOS 1.2.2 update because even out of the box card is hashing ETH only at 17MH/s now. Any idea what could be the culprit here? I am using MSI Z97 Gaming 5 MOBO.

Here are the original and modded BIOS roms based on the instructions. Both are for my set of GIGABYTE Aorus Radeon RX580 XTR 8G. However, no matter what I have tried, Windows 7 hangs as soon as the "Your VBIOS has been imported successfully" message and I have to hard reboot. Cards were definitely updated because as soon as I boot into EthOS, I get dready super high speed fans....and 17MH/S. Begging for help because these cards are just collecting dust instead of mining. I've insert Uber-Mix 3.1 to 2000Mhz so you need 2000 and more to be running. Check for mem errors. I don't have RX 5xx or even Gigabyte cards, so I can't really tell what you need more, TDP and clocks are set very high for stock... so I didn't change it, should be fine. BTW did you use GPU-Z for backup? RX 4xx bios have 256KB, but yours have 512KB? I think it's not right. Is it possible and how?

I know how to backup and flash via ATI Flash/Polaris Editor but don't know Ubermix. I am using the performance timings Uber Mix 3.1 for Gigabyte Radeon Aeros RX580 8GB. I made a BIOS backup, then used the value stated: 777000000000000022CC1C00AD615C41C0590E152ECC8608006007000B031420FA8900A00300000 010122F3FBA354019 on the 2000 timing, yet now all my cards hash at ~17MH/s (stock was 24MH/s). Also, when I use ATI Flash and Program the BIOS, the machine says VBIOS updated successfully, but the machine hangs. I am also just trying to restore the original BIOS at this point to return to 24MH/s with no luck. Please advice  Thank you! |
