Home mining is a huge untapped consumer market. I made a comment on one of the other threads that this would be maintenance heavy. So not industrial scale nor beginning/starting miner either for hobbyists. Price point as well needs some work but that's not much a surprise in the industry.

Huge? What percentage of people own BTC? What percentage of them are miners? Me thinks you and I have very different definitions of the word huge.

I don't understand the whole 5ND thing... and I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIGURE IT OUT.

There's plenty of info and help available, and you can't afford NOT to figure it out ... and once you do, the math will say you can't afford to leave KanoPool.

Which maths are you using?

Bitmain T9+ and S9 sold out. More hashrate incoming!
Can't say the same for prices.

HODL

I wouldn’t put it past Bitmain to say sold out even if they didn’t. Encourages faster buying next time. They used to sell out and now rarely do.

I agree the Kano cult is a bit much at times. Ala the bcash talking shit about bitcoin  without proving themselves. Mining is simple math and it’s very easy to compare one vs. another.

I just decided to take a break from slush until they calirfy the 400ph of miners being paid without providing work. Slush, you need to provide some proof as to what’s going on as these accusations have some merit and certainly make me and others uncomfortable.

Issues are back. Different.

PLEASE FIX the east coast stratum
6  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2.5+ EH] Slush Pool (slushpool.com); World's First Mining Pool on: June 02, 2018, 12:49:35 AM
Have had three miners go down in the last 15 minutes despite running flawlessly.

There appears to be another issue on the slush side.

Give them a reboot. I had the exact same problem just a few minutes ago. After power cycling those affected miners they are back and hashing pool-side. I hope that East Coast Stratum server connectivity issue is not back - that would suck.

No issues reconnecting, but all three had the same thing happen. Not an issue on my end for sure, they were all running like a top.

Reboot solved it, but still not optimal.

Whats the reasoning behind a dozen people posting block every time the pool hits one? Makes any real information hard to find and devalues this entire thread a fair bit. It reminds me of people clapping when the plane lands, its just supposed to happen that way.

Excitement, joy, gratitude..... things you may be lacking?

Seriously though, is it that bothersome? I'm fine with it. In fact, it's easier to miss a block if there's only one post. Usually I log in because my damn app isnt' working and I see multiple block posts and get a little excited. The multiple posts confirms it's legit and not someone's alarm going off.

So weeding through forum posts of repetitive things makes sense? It surely slows down productive conversation here and if you're looking to see if a block was hit b/c the app is failing, why not go directly to the pool website?

Please reply to my reply also - so we can discuss.

No.

18  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Orion Miner - New Manufacturer - Up to 20 TH/s - SCAM!? on: April 17, 2018, 01:43:46 AM
Noticed in Jimmy Song's recent article that he links to Orion Miner when talking about startups set to compete with Bitmain ... almost to the end of the article :

...First, there is a lot of competition coming. There are no less than 4 startups that I know of that are entering the mining space attempting to dethrone Bitmain. There are also larger companies like Samsung, Intel and Nvidia that are looking into getting into this very lucrative industry....

https://medium.com/@jimmysong/mining-centralization-scenarios-b74102adbd36

Not sure if he's vetted them or what, but interesting he links to Orion and Halong as valid up an comers to compete for market share soon ....

Interesting that he claims 4 but only provides links to 3 (there's a link to someone called "oasis mining" in there as well).

I also don't buy the "larger companies" claims - Samsung has no reports of being interested in making miners, all of the reports to date appear to be about their CONTRACT FOUNDRY work to make chips for EBang, Nvidia has not shown any interest in getting into cryptocurrency at all and has stated multiple times they don't like their GPUs being used for mining, Intel has had a few vague reports of some sort of interest but ZERO confirmed interest.

Sounds like yet another "I want to sound important by repeating vague claims I've not bothered actually checking into" type "journalist".

Jimmy happens to be pretty well respected and know wtf he's talking about. I trust what he says.

Guys, check this.

Antbox

https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020180321171726928VcIHUA5O0660

After the rise of bitcoin mining, it was always the first step to find a suitable large enough site with electricity and suitable temperature to construct mining farm. It takes relatively more time  and manpower to  finish one mining farm.  The profit is also affected by the variation of the dry season  and wet season if hydropower is used. Besides, the operation and maintenance of a mining farm is also very onerous.

But for a year now, on 20 March, Bitmain has launched a new product, Antbox, a MOBILE mining farm! It uses standard container construction, after connecting electricity and networks, you can mine bitcoins right away. It can greatly save the time cost of building a mining farm. Because it is easy to transport, Antbox can make a seasonal migration to access to cheap water electricity or suitable temperatures.

Antbox has an internal single-row design and it achieves very good heat dissipation by fan cooling, external curtain wall and electric shutters. A single Antbox can house 324 units of Antminer S9. A 365-day warranty is also a guarantee of profits.

Old news and incredibly overpriced. i have a bridge to sell you.
