1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 23, 2017, 06:26:40 AM
Can Claymore or someone else explain why the recommended variable for GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR was changed from 0 to 1 for this miner?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does OC (overclock) really increase hashrate? on: June 22, 2017, 04:47:32 PM
Of course... But it depends on what card you have since some need core overclock and some need memory overclock to increase hashrate.

The 2 GB problem can be solved with a certain memory management scheme.  Level of effort may not be worth it, but Claymore can PM me to discuss.

We're talking about literally millions of dollars at stake here. I don't think any level of effort would be too much.

Seems you don't have enough memory for the Dag. You need at least 3GB VRAM on the card to mine ETH.

He does have 3GB, but you can't mine ETH anymore with Tahiti cards.

Just mine ZEC, almost 300H/s per core.

I'm mining with a Tahiti card right now? Hashrate is low, but it works.

Hi guys,

I just trying to mining dual eth+sc with my gtx 1060 and I got about 20 mh/s and 130mh/s.

Eth mining speed is normal, but is SC speed normal? I think its very low, whattomine say 990 mh/s

Thanks

You won't get full mining speed for the second coin when dual mining. If you want full SC speed, use a solominer.

That said, you can maximize your efficiency by playing with the -/+ keys in the runtime which will change your -dcri value. Hit "S" for stats and you can find your best ratio.

Thats pretty low for Sia. I've got a 7970 and it gets 12.5MH/s ETH plus 620MH/s Sia. You probably want to add the -dcri xx argument I have mine set at -dcri 49 and it gives me double the Sia while only lowing ETH by like 0.5 MH. You can tweak the -dcri value in the runtime using the +/- keys. Then hit "S" for stats and you can find your best ratio. Then put that in the start bat.
Try UBQ, MUSIC or EXP you'll get 25 MH/s due to the smaller DAG, I'd also go easy on the SC with these older cards. I underclock mine and run the fan at 100% BTW.

So I redid the thermal paste on my 7970 and temps dropped >20C! Went from 90C at 100% fanspeed to 69C at 67% fanspeed dual mining ETH+SC.

The previous owner slathered on way too much paste and didnt tighten the cooler down enough either. Runs like a dream now.

Well I'm just using the 7970 as supplementary to my main R9 390 which gets a nice 31MH. Pulling >43MH on two old cards is not bad at all, IMO. As for the SC, yeah dual mining really heats it up. Hitting 91C in a cool room, but I need to replace the thermal paste. Not even going to attempt dual mining on the 390. That thing is already a furnace. I turned it on once and it hit 94C pretty quick.

You think mining one of those coins would be more profitable on the 7970 than ETH+SC? It's gonna take forever to hit the payout in the Sia pool at this rate.

Just looking for some opinions here:
I fired up 2 AMD 7950's Dual-Mining ETH and Sia Last night. Been sort of tweaking the settings and Overclock over the past 12H but wanted to see if I am getting proper results for my settings:
BAT:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool us1.ethpool.org:3333 -ewal 0x9C242ad2B0cF40f58e01C7b8c3b79f83F792bD18  -dpool "http://siamining.com:9980/miner/header?
address=be71aa6e9ca5e046fde5c6fedc9a295bbf631acd300b57d7e20559bd53850f3d86442bc20ee8&worker=Work1" -dcoin sia
CLOCKS: AMD 7950: 1050/1500
Haven't done much OC tweaking/testing with these - Just raised memory clocks mostly to see a little MH boost
MH:
Client Side - ETH: ~25MH (Accepting around 20-25 Valid Shares/hour on ethpool). Sia: ~385MH (75-80k Valid Shares/Hr on SiaMining)
Pool Side Screenshots- ETH: https://www.screencast.com/t/ySMnJBLuwE , SIA: https://www.screencast.com/t/qZyq9wv9
Wondering if these results seem normal, or if I could be doing something better?
Thanks!

It's been a while since I last mined ETH+DCR or SIA. Can someone let me know what's the current normal hashrate for HD7970's please?

Now mining at miningpoolhub, ETH+SIA, dcri 90, I get some 12Mh/s in ETH and 550MH/s in SIA. That's with Crimson 17 drivers, pixel patched

Thanks

I'm having the same problem. By all accounts, this card should be mining at ~20-22MH/s but I'm only getting 12.5 no matter what I do. I've tried both the latest drivers and 15.12. Pixel Clock Patcher did nothing.

Edit: After some research, it seems like this rate is par for the course for the 7970/280x due to the current DAG size slowing it down. Bummer. Seems like other coins are the only answer. Though I might just use mine to dual mine. 12.5 is better than nothing.
