Hopefully a mod wont delete this as pool spam like they did with my last one!
Both of our pools (myrsk.nut2pools.com and myr.nut2pools.com) are up to date.
Cheers

From nut2pools Due to lack of miners, development and supporters we regret to inform you that this pool is now closed. Please cash out your coins immediately. I will run a full payout to all accounts that have addresses specified. Those that don't should add an address ASAP as the site, DB and wallets will be deleted very soon. Sorry for the inconvenience, Nut Just 2 pools left, only one decent Yeah, sorry guys but a quick look around shows about 5 miners which isn't enough to sustain the network effectively and the pool definitely isn't covering costs. I would be inclined to leave it running but the daemon constantly runs 1 core of our processors at 100% so chews through valuable resources too (Before anyone says our processors must be weak, we run dual E5-2687 v2 in our boxes). Could everyone please ensure they cashout ASAP? There are a LOT of coins payable to users that have not entered a payout address... Thanks and Sorry Nut.

Hey guys, Just to let you all know, we have our skein pool up and running (exploit free). Come and join svennand - he's kinda lonely! 0% till next weekend! If there's sufficient uptake, i will get our US stratum configured for skein too. https://myrsk.nut2pools.comEnjoy. Nut So have you ever done a facepalm that was soooooo big that you pinch yourself to see if you are awake? Like those dreams where your at the office nekkid and you think "I MUST be dreaming"? Well, i just pinched myself and i'm definitely awake... Whilst i'm not naked at the office (i have my boxers on) i DID forget to open the firewall to the public! I saw a load of users had registered and thought "why the hell would you register and not mine??" DOH!!!! Then i remembered i opened it up just for Svennands IP for testing purposes. So, i'll try again - SKEIN POOL OPEN (now with firewalls opened and everything!!)

What have i missed?
fees ? 0% until next weekend, after that im guessing 1%? Stability is key here, Dont think i ever have had downtime at nut2pools no matter what coin. (i dont count cron freeze, frontend ddos etc as downtime since it doesnt affect the mining). Come join me, im lonely. Finding blocks fine though What he said... As per the myr scrypt pool.

Ahmed!! Long time indeed! Been a bit (read: a LOT) hectic recently but it's calming down now so have some time to catch up on the "to-do" lists. What have i missed?

Unfortunately the newest client isn't synching either for me.. Does anyone know how to fix this?
It's stuck at 303429 ; wednesday 30. apr 20:13:35 2014
Try simply closing and re-opening the wallet. I don't use the qt-wallet (only the daemon compiled from source for the pool) but the latest worked fine. Try putting addnode=37.59.25.43 in your config (that's one of our wallets that has the full blockchain) and see if that helps. Let me know if you guys want me to setup an hourly snapshot of the blockchain and host on our servers for download - should help with sync issues. Nut

Whilst we're on the subject of code, can we get the "getnetworkhashps" implemented in the code? I'l be doing a site upgrade at some stage over the next couple of days so expect some more funkyness on the pools frontend. As usual though, our mining backend will be unaffected throughout the works. Enjoy Nut

NO - WE WEREN'T!!! And why the hell are you telling people we were? did i tell you we were? no! As i said earlier, i will be sleeping! this is rediculous! I Have now updated the wallet - luckily i got woken up by one of the kids and thought i'd see what was going on. You have no idea how pissed i am right now! Pool is updated now.ffs I see your server accept blocks, that's why I say your server is up to date. Good if you are now updated. Sorry mistake. You saw that the server was finding blocks 3 hours BEFORE the fork and that was enough to suggest that we had updated?? Anyway - New wallet seems to be working so mine till your hearts content. Back to bed... Zzzzzzzz Nut

Any news? looking at the block rates i'm gonna be sleeping when 318000 hits.
Need a fixed wallet if you guys want the pool to continue unless we are staying at 0.01 for longer.
Seriously MCR... come on. pull your finger out. We can try to be all rainbows and butterflies here but the reality is, this is getting ridiculous!
PS. whilst your fixing the code, can you fix the fact that the daemon sits blasting one of my CPU cores up to ~60% permantly?

Yowsers!!! After a 14 hour battle of wills, 2 new server builds, 3 DB migrations and a bunch of other stuff to boot.... were back on the air!! All shares, coins (what little coins there are ), blocks etc are accounted for as mining was not affected. The pool is running through the backlogs but it may take a while. Sorry for the inconvenience. Nut Thank you for your hard work nutnut, next codefix is coming soon, so you will not get out of practice . Yaye! look forward to it. So, reading through the posts, it looks like we still don't have a working code version?

The block time is really high atm. Can we reach block 316,000 for the bugfix before all miners stop mining?
As far as i know the fix hasnt been implented yet? which means no reason to look for block 316000. Source/prebuilt daemon hasnt been updated. Neither has info on OP page. So as of now this ship isnt heading anywhere. Diff trap ohoi! Gives med dejavu back to the old Feathercoin days. Are we gonna have another call to arms helpthread for hashpower from nutnut:P??? Aha - the good ole days eh?! In this case though... Nope. In those days we mined the diff back down because the Dev had put the fix in place - here the devs have abandoned it! It truely is a joke. The fix has been posted here... TWICE and yet STILL MCR/Halibit is nowhere to be seen. Would the last one out please turn off the lights.
|
|
|
so can you push the fix? Down to 47 miners now. And the block find rate is through the floor due to the high diff. This will be the death of the coin unless it's fixed rapidly (like in 100 blocks) as no-one will want to mine it back down. Block find rates are down from 2-3 per minutes to 1 every 2-3 minutes. I'm actually amazed/shocked that the fork was scheduled for a time when there's were no devs about. Madness. If it were my coin, i would be glued to the explorers watching what happened!
|
|
|
Is it safe to move coins with this wallet?
I would say yes for now but always check back here just before you do. I expect Halibit/MCR will announce the block number for the fork.

This new scheme we have 5000 blocks of 0.01 rewards, we can call it " Killing off" period Fixed that for you... We can't have 5k blocks at the current reward, miners will disappear and you will never hit block 320k. There are a handful of pools, i'm sure the ops can all be contacted to apply the fix at block 316000. Hehe, agree with you . We do not need such long period of 5000 blocks. I mentioned a number just to show the logic and put in the code, it is not necessary be 320,000. Btw, less than 1000 blocks more to fix all the nodes might be a little bit too difficult, I don't know. Let MCR and/or halibit decides the number then. Agreed... Halibit, MCR.... anyone....

We need new fix I think. I don't get how block size can be 0.01 with this code? { if (nHeight <= 315000) nSubsidy = (310000 - ((nHeight - 310000) * 0.01)) * COIN; if (nHeight > 315000) nSubsidy = (3100 - ((nHeight * 0.01) -310000)) - 300000; //Blockreward fixed decreasing 0.01 steps if (nSubsidy <= 1000) nSubsidy = 1000; // Rest of blocks are 1000 coins. Then network working forever with stake blocks. } The code is wrong again. I was the first one found the bug, PMed MCR and halibit, posted here the correct code, but no one wanted to hear me. I will post here my correct code again. Hopefully this time you make it correct. else if (nHeight >= 310000 && nHeight <= 315000) // 310,000 block rewards, decreasing 0.01 on every block { nSubsidy = (310000 - ((nHeight - 310000) * 0.01)) * COIN; }
else if (nHeight <= 320000) // 0.01 block rewards (Wrong logic, but need to keep since it already happened) { nSubsidy = (3100 - ((nHeight * 0.01) - 310000)) - 300000; }
else { nSubsidy = (10000 - ((nHeight - 320000) * 0.01)) * COIN; if (nSubsidy <= 1000 * COIN) nSubsidy = 1000 * COIN; // Rest of blocks are 1000 coins. Then network working forever with stake blocks. }
Again, we need to pick another block number to apply this patch. Say it 320,000. New logic will be: - - Before block 310,000: Same
- - Block 310,001 - 315,000: Block rewards from 310,000, reducing 0.01 each block (already happened)
- - Block 315,001 - 320,000: Block rewards = 0.01 (happening - current block at the time of writing is 315143)
- - Block 320,001+: Block rewards from 10,000, reducing 0.01 each block. And it will stop reducing at 1,000. (will happen at Block 1220001)

How about if we let blockreward to 0.01, then we have nice lot . Just kidding Sure block reward need to fix as it was planned to be. Actually I need to tell, this one was my bad. I calculate the code fix. Don't kill me If it can't be properly fixed very soon i recommend setting the block value to a static 9 or 10k just to get mining running again. We can then fix the code properly at our/your leisure. Nut
