This stock is traded over-the-counter. You need to open a brokerage account with a U.S.-based online brokerage firm. Not all brokers are OTC friendly, pay close attention to fees.

I think that many of cryptocurrency enthusiasts (myself included) became attracted to bitcoin mainly due to the possibility of impressive price appreciation.  No one can deny that this expectation was fully realized. As we all know this happened even twice in 2011 and in 2013. The question of whether there is a room for futher growth still remains the open debate. However it seems more reasonable that the miracle has allready happened so the BTC price needs to stabilize and keep its level to say the least… (the process what we actually see nowadays)

In terms of percentage gains Litecoin easily beats Bitcoin as a trader's dream. It is curious that litecoin was climbing nicely completely out of the radar of many bitcoiners and those who discovered its very existence on april 1st suddenly realized that LTC was allready up several thousand %  from the beginning of the year! What a joke, lol. At least the final take off was even sharper than that of bitcoin. That’s why as a speculator I concider myself more pro-litecoin than pro-bitcoin guy.

Some litecoin afficionados advocate strongly that Litecoin's IPO could push the price even higher, but strictly speaking 3 months have passed. This news is actually not so new… Double digits returns look more realistic than triple digits here, imo.

The question of interest is what will be "the next LTC" ?           FTC? BBQ? Ripple? (there goes a dozen of obscure abbreviations)
    Not really...

I invite you to consider the risky asset class rather closely related to cryptos with a comparable or even higher volatility.

Take a look at the chart of this microcap medical marijuana company (yep, you heard that right!) Doesn't it bear a great resemblance to the chart of litecoin ?

The stock market likes to award the good stories just the same way as the cryptocurrency market does. Hot microcap stocks can go up perfectly fine just as we like it! Of course, I am not a first one to draw this bitcoin-microcaps parallel. Forum member scalper has allready compared BTC chart to that of FNMA. You can check his research here.

This finally takes me to the point.

Bitcoin/litecoin stock plays have never been mentioned!!!  Isn't it amazing?

I initiated a search and found ONLY ONE POSSIBLE CANDIDATE – ONCI. Probably you can find and post here other companies that fit into this category – that would be highly appreciated!

It looks that this stock is bouncing hard off the lows and is about to make a great move.

Falling wedge. Bullish Reversal pattern
Busted thru the 50 MA

This can be the first bitcoin stock play, let's keep it on close watch!

actually, there is too much of rumoring about all this, IMHO by nitwits that think they can pump the LTC price  Angry.

Why are you so critical of them ?
It is possible to pump the price of the chosen altcoin  by a coordinated pr campaign, fueled by fresh rumours. Not bragging here but my bullish article on litecoin published on the 1st of april at smartlab (russian analogue of seeking alpha) had more than thousand views and surely brought many new traders to btc-e. I am far from saying that this publication alone caused the price to explode, but it definitely helped to spread the awareness among speculators. Those who listened to my recommendation and acted fast could made a whooping 300% return on their investment in just 3 days !!!  Shocked
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Relation between volume and price? on: April 25, 2013, 12:39:34 AM
so as I understand, the generation of new bitcoins becomes slower and slower.. right?

no,  we are talking about the daily trading volume at MTgox exchange. The same applies to other exchanges as well.

Sorry, I was being lazy with the terminology.  3/6 and 4/19 are actually called "shooting stars, but they also predicted reversals that did not happen.

oops, I didn't checked them all.  3/6 looks more like a shooting star. Reversal didn't happen but there was a little drop in price during the next day.
4/19  should  have a  bit longer upper shadow (at least twice the length of the real body of the candle) in order to be considered a shooting star.

Don't get me wrong.
Hammer candlestick formation works only after a downtrend. To find them we look for the dips.
The candlestick that you've mentioned  (4/12) is hammer, indeed , but it is not located properly , so there is no hammer formation there  Smiley

In technical analysis volume is used as a confirmation indicator. You may notice that the epic rally of the early april didn't took much volume at all which probably signaled a certain weakness. On the other hand the volume spiked  really hard on the 12th of april and that was clearly a sign of the continuation of the downward trend.

On the 16th of april we had a lovely hammer candlestick formation which usually predicts a reversal. Strong volume indicated that the smart money successfully accumulated a huge position at the best price.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you holding BTC for the long run, or short term - ? on: April 24, 2013, 10:25:29 PM
I used to treat bitcoin trading just like gambling in pennystocks, however it turned out that simple buy and hold strategy presented far better returns.
