Hay Doc, any advise on the 2 pending Bitcoin forks that are due to happen ?.

BitCoin Gold and segwit2x ?. I assume the pool is not going with Bitcoin gold or segwit2x ?.  Ive been reading that the Bitcoin gold fork will prob end up like the Bitcoin cash fork. However the segwit2x fork may be different. (is there any chance the segwit2x fork will end up taking the Bitcoin name ?.)

In both instances they are suggesting to keep your Bitcoin in a local wallet during these periods and not in an exchange. (so that you can control what happens with your coins).

Is there anything we should be doing to prepare for the 2 forks happening soon ?.

Please help get segwit activated

Bitcoin is in a scaling crisis. Transaction fees are getting more and more costly. Companies are leaving bitcoin to build their services on alt coins instead. Many people, especially beginners, are struggling with unconfirmed transactions. New users get the impression that "bitcoin doesn't work". They are increasingly correct. The situation is hindering bitcoin adoption and doing long term damage to bitcoin.

If you want Bitcoin to succeed, here's what you can do:

1. Get more hashpower over on Bitminter and other pools that signal (vote to activate) segregated witness

2. Support BIP148 on your bitcoin node(s) - see http://www.uasf.co/

"I'm supporting Bitcoin Unlimited instead."
Understandable. There are several options for scaling. However, I think segwit has a much better chance of actually happening in the short term. We need scaling sooner rather than later. Please help get our head above water, then we can talk about how to get on land.

"I mine in a pool that doesn't support ANY scaling. I don't care."
So you own miners and bitcoins, but you go against your own economic interest by harming bitcoin. Please ask yourself what exactly you are trying to accomplish. Let me know what the answer is.

"What are these idiots doing?"
I tried to answer that here: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/53814/incentives-for-segwit-vs-btu

"How do I see how segwit is doing?"
Have a look at http://segwit.co/
Yes, it looks bleak. Noone said it would be easy. But before we sell all our bitcoins and switch to alt coins, how about we put up one good fight?

So Bitminter is FOR segwit. If you stay mining with Bitminter, you are supporting the FOR segwit soft fork. is this correct ?. Is there anything we need to do with the miners software.   Example im running bfgminer 5.4.2 on windows 10. Is there any command switches we need to set to enable the segwit ?.
