I think unless you've done very well to become financially independent on Bitcoin by trading, mining, etc. than this is a way of creating extra income as opposed to completely taking over your financial status. It is too much of a gamble at this time and not steady to be relied on.

Bitcoin may be for most people a way of getting better financially in their lives, for profit, etc. But in the long term and global economy it will affect the lives of people dramatically. I see Bitcoin becoming a world currency, one that is shared among many countries that adopt it completely. I don't know too much about economics but I think it will be a positive outcome, as the current fiat system we have now is ultimately flawed.
