For me, maganda tong naisip mo OP. Because of the new system, it is indeed harder for deserving newbies to rank up in the forum. Hindi naman ito pandadaya o pagsasawalang bahala sa new system, at feel ko ay makakatulong nga ito dahil it will make it easier for mods and high ranking members to distinguish which accounts deserve to be merited. Kudos dito!
2  Other / Off-topic / Re: Higher education, is it so important? on: September 09, 2018, 07:31:41 PM
Yup! Although not all people will get the chance to go through higher education, it is important that most of us do. Other than the usual reasons such as having more knowledge, wiser, and etc., it keeps the world balanced in some way.

Professionals, bosses, inventors, scientists, artists: most of them in these times are highly educated. There are those who dont go to college anymore and pursue a vocational course or just immediately get a job after high school, and these are good too. It balances out everything. If everyone were highly educated and academics, then there would be no manual laborers and workers. If no one went to college, then vice versa.
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why would anyone choose to live singles? on: September 09, 2018, 07:17:10 PM
There are lots of people who choose to be single not because of heartbreak or failure in relationships, but they just enjoy the life of being free and independent.

I have a girlfriend, but I still look up to those who choose to be single as it is completely their right to choose to be one and we're not really all required to produce children and have families.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Life on Mars? on: September 09, 2018, 07:10:57 PM
Life could exist anywhere, really. Sure, you can base the existence of life in other planets based on how it is on Earth (water, oxygen, and all other factors) but that's how we evolved-- we evolved in these circumstances.

If there will be life in other planets where we humans cannot possibly live in because of biological factors, it is possible too because the life there would be existing and evolving based on the circumstances of that planet's nature and composition.

Regarding Mars, however, we cannot say for sure until we have explored every space in that planet.
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fear Of Public Speaking on: September 09, 2018, 07:01:56 PM
I will keep this in mind, thank you~! To be honest, I grew up as an introvert. I really hated public speaking, even reciting in class makes me shiver and have an anxiety attack. Although now, I can say that I am a really changed person.

I dont mind answering questions in class any more and I am not that awkward around new people (I was before, horribly). I think it's part of maturing or growing up, you just have to face your fears. This may be quite weird but I think of it this way now: there are billions of people in the earth and they might have gone through this at least once, so why must I be afraid?

Kudos!

8  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you recommend me an anime movie? on: September 09, 2018, 06:29:48 PM
The best (and most emotional for me) is Kimi No Nawa for now, although there are a lot of other good anime movies out there. It's just that Kimi No Nawa's story, animation, and soundtrack are so beautiful and breathtaking. It will not be a waste of your time.
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: Most dangerous jobs on: September 09, 2018, 06:27:48 PM
Other than the obvious ones such as soldiers, police, firefighters and etc., I think one that can be considered in the list of dangerous jobs (research actually say so) is being a journalist. I know many journalists who constantly receive death threats almost every day because of fighting for the truth, and in my country (Philippines), many journalists are killed every year for fighting for their principles.
10  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: MOST POPULAR USERS IN THE PHILPPINE LOCAL BOARD on: August 25, 2018, 02:44:41 PM
Maraming salamat dito, GDragon!!

Salamat ulit!
11  Local / Pilipinas / Re: BABALA: HACKERS TARGET ANDROID PHONES FOR MINING THROUGH APPS on: August 23, 2018, 01:27:58 PM

Exactly. To be honest, I've already read your post regarding the Garena-LoL cryptojacking incident. This goes to show that even big-name companies such as Garena and trusted games such as LoL can be used by expert hackers to infect and use other people's computers for mining. This is why cryptojacking in smartphones is not that surprising at all, considering that incident happened right under our noses.

snip ...masyado nanag matalino ang mga hackers ngayon kaya Think before you click.

Think before you click, ika mo nga.

12  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you like Virtual reality? on: August 23, 2018, 10:14:28 AM
I'm actually a fan of virtual reality, and I actually have 2 virtual reality goggles right now. My only problem is that my current phone is not compatible to VR games, so I have to borrow my sister's phone whenever I want to use them  Grin
13  Local / Pilipinas / Re: BABALA: HACKERS TARGET ANDROID PHONES FOR MINING THROUGH APPS on: August 23, 2018, 09:43:01 AM

15  Local / Pilipinas / Re: BABALA: HACKERS TARGET ANDROID PHONES FOR MINING THROUGH APPS on: August 23, 2018, 09:38:47 AM
It would be better if you cite all the possible application that can cause cryptojacking in android phones to spread awareness among our people.

I have read a recent article that League of Legends an PC online game had spreaded cryptojacking in most of the pc platform. If I am not mistaken the issue haven been solved tho I am not that updated when it comes to pc gaming lol.

Another thing is please avoid rooting your android phones as it may alter the operating system which can cause a complete access to everything making it vulnerable an unknown types of files installed.

Thank you very much and this is noted! Regarding android phones particularly, I have been researching what specific apps have been tagged as cryptojackers but I am yet to find definite answers. The only credible one I got was from Rappler, which was the Bug Smasher app.

If this helps, I found out that several dictionary applications, particularly a Portuguese language app, a zombie-themed game, and a VPN. Google claimed that they have been removing them since however.

BABALA: HACKERS TARGET ANDROID PHONES FOR MINING THROUGH APPS

ANONG MAAARING GAWIN LABAN DITO?

17  Other / Off-topic / Re: what do you think about electric cars? on: August 19, 2018, 05:15:22 PM
I believe we have to get used to electric cars because in the future, they are all that's gonna be as fossil fuels are being used up and we will definitely soon run out of it.

Other than gasoline being limited, they are also an environmental hazard. So electric cars would be the best way to go as we are in this inescapable situation (unless they find a way to make unlimited gas or something).

However, Im not sure if having electric cars are more earth-friendly; yeah sure they dont emit smoke and doesnt need to burn fuel out, but I'm not really sure if the process of charging them up is completely safe for the environment. That's why I think we  must invest our time, money, and effort on finding out what the optimal electric car is and start working on it (something both safe and great for humans and the earth) because sooner or later, fueled cars will have to go.
18  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is Your Favorite YouTube Channel? on: August 19, 2018, 05:08:03 PM
I am on youtube every day, and I have subscribed to so many channels and watch tons of videos all the time that I don't really know if I have a favorite. However, I can say for now that I definitely love Buzzfeed Unsolved more than any other channels.

The used to be in Buzzfeed Blue, but now they have their own channel after gaining too many fans and high ratings. And they deserve it! They some of the best original content a youtuber can offer, and it's just so much fun watching Shane and Ryan take on serious stuff with an absolutely non-serious manner. The show's hilarious!

Shoutout to all the Shaniacs and Boogaras out there  Wink
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Only for Gamers .. !! on: August 19, 2018, 05:03:56 PM
I haven't really played GTA V now, but I am a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series. I used to play them all the time as a child. Whether if it's on the computer or the PSP, I played it. I have played almost all the GTA games when I was a child, and I plan on buying GTA V in the future once I have my gaming pc (and the time).  Grin
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: Benefits of drinking hot water on: August 19, 2018, 05:00:15 PM
Before reading all the benefits everyone mentioned in here, I didn't really know that hot water had that many great effects and uses. When I was a child, we visited my aunt's house in the morning and I saw their whole family drink hot water right after waking up. I asked them what for, and they were quite shocked that I don't drink hot water in the morning--as if that's a common thing. Thank you for this post and everyone who contributed; you guys made me grab a glass of water just now  Grin
