It's mining in the background. Hit F12 to open g terminal. Type screen -r

This will show the mining window.

The code is LOCAL.  I have not adjusted the default.

My understanding, and I may be completely wrong. Is that holding the power button is the same as turning off the power.

So it's by design then?

I am seeing a new error i have not seen before.

There is no screen to be resumed matching miner.  

In the terminal window right before the miner of choice starts.  And the mining still does seem to start in the background.

Could it have something to do with a high resolution screen being present?

I have tried another image and the same thing occurred.

How about the option to set auto shutdown when the power button is pressed?  I often need to move rigs and want to shut them down without plugging in or remoting in.

I have been running the following:

gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power button-power 'shutdown'

I do think with when using different algos in makes sense to have different clocks; however I don't think the settings for those should be spread out over a bunch of different bash files.

I will bring all the settings inside oneBash and make a:

SALFTER_NICEHASH_PROFIT_SWITCHING="YES"    YES / NO switch

Using your implementation; it should only require a few modifications to implement other targets such as 'lowest difficulty out of a given set of coins' and more.

This is really amazing work.

Somebody may have mentioned this but would it be possible to edit the xorg.conf so that additional resolutions are available for machines that are completely headless?  When I use teamviewer its defaulting to a very low resolution and there are seemingly no others available.

I have set up a 9 gpu system with nvOC 16 and here's my experience.

nvOS is stellar. Fullzero has put something really special together here. Hats off to you. I have used windows builds with Claymore as well as other linux os such as PIMP.  This is by far the best experience I have has so far.

nvOS is as easy as setting up in windows but with the advantage of linux as well as being able to control everything including over clocking with a bash script file that's as easy as filling in a form.

Currently this 9 gpu rig is hashing ETH and DCR using the suprvova pools. I have found v16 with claymore 9.5 to be far superior to the previous version and i think it will be our goto for larger deployment for the time being.

Right now it hashes at around 183 Mh/s.  Here's the build:

During setup i encountered numerous errors, all of which were remedied.  I went with 2 psus, not sure if its better in teh long run but splitting 1100 watts over two 850s seem to be decent for efficiency.  I have built 7 of these now and a few with the z270A version using 8 GPUS.  Both are good.  I have created this system as the model for our small mining farm in California, so i will continue to feedback on these builds as I go.

Bios settings were very important.  As was bios version.

Damaged risers and a bum gpu were also headaches during set up so be on the lookout for that.  Once you have the bio settings right and the hardware actually works it really is as simple as flashing the drive, plugging it in and turning it on.  If anyone wants the bios settings PM me but its here in the thread and is mostly about setting all pcie settings to gen2, using bios 0801 and not flashing the newer 0906.  Which was the opposite to PIMP which did not seem to work for me on the older bios.

One last thing, with these gpus I set the OC to

__CORE_OVERCLOCK=150
MEMORY_OVERCLOCK=825

and it seems to be running stable with no ETH rejections and about 1 in 200 DCR rejections. temps at 80 fans at 65% -dcri 50 and pulling about 1050 watts.

I built two of these for a friend and two for my sister.

Will do, am doing.

Got 7 cards to recognize in windows, so all 7 slots are now working.  Set all the pcie modes to gen 2 in th bios.  Will try to boot a new flash of nvOC shortly.  AndI can post the bios settings for DL if it all works.

I have found that gen 2 works as well.

Another question.

What files can safely be deleted?  I am getting disk full errors on the 64GB thumb drives I am using and I am a noob and I am not sure what can be deleted.

I am using claymore dual ether decred.

Ok so I have the second system set up with all new hardware, different risers, different power supplies, different GFX cards. 

I have the exact same issue.  The bios only seems to see 6 GFX cards. 

Can I ask, what version of the bios you were using?  I have tried the last two.  Was there any other settings changed in the BIOS or just the 3 you point out on the first page of the thread?

Ok some more information.

Def not an issue with GPU.

I have an m2 adapter now and I can get 7 cards going. (6 pci + 1 M2)

The issue is the pcie slots.  If any 6 are occupied then 6 work.  If i try a 7th in any spot it does not show up.  The tool in the bios only shows 6 cards, even when 7 are active with the addition of the m.2. Maybe they never expected 9 cards so its just not showing up in the tool.

I have a second build up to test 8 x 1070 gpus and a couple of 1kw power supplies. I will see if I have a different experience and let you know.

I have had a lot of graphical issues with this build. 

I have a previous build on the Prime z270A with 7 cards and it has no issues.

only 6 cards show up in the bios which supports a hardware issue.  I have another mobo which i can test.  I tried a different riser

I have 4GPUs on one PSU and 7 on the other plus Mobo

I followed those instructions and I am using v0015. 

Obviously it works then but I must be missing something.
