1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XVG] Verge - Speculation & Discussion on: January 01, 2018, 07:25:18 PM

Can anyone tell me what this is......

  • Basically shows Verge doesn't even do what it claims it does above which is run over TOR and not reveal IP addresses.
  • And wraith hasn't been delivered which I understand allows a choice between public vs private ledger (private protecting you from Blockchain analysis to provide privacy/anonymity)

Verge is basically a re-brand of DodgeCoinDark whose current privacy features don't work and privacy features in development are vaporware.  If you want privacy use Monero.

Attempt at FUD

All Alt currencies have been plummeting since June/July. Any ideas why?

Panic selling maybe? Bubble bursting?

XVG is following XRP's history

How so?

I'd be happy to see it break 500-1000 SATs. $1? that might be years away.

To get to $1 in 12 months, XVG value would have to increase by something like 10 SATs a day. That would be awesome but I don't see it. Unless there is a massive increase of crypto value across the board.

Interesting to see how some can offer valuation of 40 Sats.  They say "the real value is:", what's this based on?  What precedence?  What value metrics?  The fact is that with this coin the only contextual historicity we have is what's happened to other similar coins in the space; many of which have current values of 1000 Sats even in this dip.

Ongoing development, multiple Algos, possible Hybrid (PoW & PoS), Privacy Focus, possible SegWit, possible Dedicated Marketing Team and a Community of HDLRs.  Remember the possibilities are brought to fruition by the community.  So sell, short and take some profits if you must just make sure you don't miss hopping back on because $XVG is gonna be $1.00.  To the HODLRs: "HODL ON"

What are you basing your $1 value on?

In the absence of traditional valuation methods everyone at this point is pretty much feeling their way in the dark as it relates to coin prices.  This most likely will continue till we start gathering more measurable outcomes and accruing some historical performance data.  Wiith that said; we can, at this point, start getting some guidance based on peer coin price, performance and intent.  Based on this, let's use $XRP as an example.  Though sometimes touted as a functional currency Ripple is in reality a settlement token for inter bank transfers.  If we take the price history over the past 2 months or so and we use the current circulating supply of coins we arrive at a ratio that provides $XVG with a $1.00 price.

Now the $1 price prediction for $XVG takes into consideration the continuation of meaningful development, marketing, adoptability and community involvement.  With these in place, the $1.00 price target, as far fetched as it seems to many, is a very reachable target.  In fact $1 is just the beginning of greater things to come.  Just think that telling people a year ago that $XRP would hit 23k Satoshis would of seem ridiculous, yet Ripple has rested at these highs.

Hang tight to your Verges and get more if you can because you won't regret it.

So your reasoning for $1 value is based on another coin that's purpose and intent has little similarity to XVG? Ripple's price is based purely on speculation that it will become the interbank transfer crypto currency of choice. What is XVG's differentiator? I am long on XVG, I am all for $1 XVG and currently kicking myself for selling out of a sizable holding early at around 70 SAT.
