1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still bother to engage non Bitcoiners? on: May 05, 2019, 03:53:48 AM
No don't force them.  I try to offer it as an option.   If someone wants to buy my stuff I ask for bitcoin.   Eventually you get people to use it.   Worse case is just not selling at all but again your going to keep trying until you get one person curious about bitocin.   I let bitcoin be an alternative option when it comes to money transfer.

If you force them it will lead into heated arguments and would never use it at all.

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Describe what is bitcoin for a 7 year old kid in few words on: November 30, 2018, 03:55:43 AM
Usually kids would learn fast unless they have almost no curiosity and this very important of learning.   I know one of my cousin who knows how to play Go and Chess at the age of 9.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are still buying Bitcoin? on: May 30, 2018, 12:58:00 AM
It keeps the economy healthy.   If people just buy for profit it wouldn't work out.    There are things bought with bitcoin other than black market stuff.   Like buying and selling products if they accept them or trading.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think miners will ever see 15$+ a day again on: May 09, 2018, 04:26:24 AM
You dont realize we need more people using the coins your mining.   It doesnt increase value like magic.   Demand has to be there.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best electricity plan for mining on: May 09, 2018, 03:27:26 AM
damn those numbers are really bad.

Here in NJ

13.5  for 8 months
16.7  for 4 months

and free heat helps  lower the winter rate of 13.5 to more like 10

That's a trade off to get an easy life.  lol  California doesn't produce their own power like other states.    Someone explain it here.   That's why it's expensive.

As for PGE California.  Avoid Tied Rate E-1.   For me it would Calculate for $13k per year for my setup.   If you go with ETOU-B it cost $9.1k a year.

Reason for that it's fixed to .22 cents for Winter.  I think it's .27 cents 4-9pm.

Tiered rate it's worse because you eventually go over 400 kwh in first few days and especially your the only miner.  They would on only charge .14 cents.  Once you get pass that it would increase to .22 cents until you hit 400% over baseline (overall area).   So it depends on your area.    If all your neighbors are miners it would be cheap.  lol

Go with solar because it would put you in a yearly plan.   Before October and Nov.   Bitcoin wasn't profitable enough to pay  for the electricity.   I was able to cover most of the cost when  I was able to sell it $17k.   Timing is really important.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your single biggest challenge or frustration when trading crypto? on: April 01, 2018, 05:28:14 AM
Letting go of a trade that is dropping huge.  I always think it would increase after I start selling but now I take a lost and move on to another even if it starts increasing.   Maintaining discipline and patience was a challenge when I first started.

Most of privacy stuff between government and me I don't really care.   It's not fair when 9 to 5 workers pay taxes while I don't.  By the end of 2018.  I would set aside 22% of my profits to pay my taxes.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: panic or to be calm on: March 15, 2018, 04:14:55 AM
It shouldn't drop too fast because shorters will benefit from the 40% drop.   Especially people who had their short position at $9800.

Lets say you borrow 250 BTC and sold it at $9800.   You would profit $1.086m if focus rebuying at $6800

At the current price you would profit $589k @ $7906
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: day trading effective? on: March 07, 2018, 09:09:12 AM
You can make money no matter as long you don't stack too many on going trades.  I can say it's not easy if go into it just now.

Stuff like don't hold into positions very long and manage losses helps a lot.  I use Excel or Libre Office Calc to log in your trades.  I have tons of feeds to see how community feels from stocktwits, tradingview, google alerts, reddit, forums, news feeds from Cointelegraph and get some sort of ideas from people in twitter.    Trading can be extremely complex that's why Excel or Libre Office Calc is so important.   You can easily track like split trades into two, buying long or short.

I remember reading an article that you can't make money but just going long all the time.  You have to learn to short when you need to.

Example I had buy order at $11750
I take it same amount and sold it at $11400 and rebuy it at $10620.  While I'm waiting for $11750 to $10650.

I been focus on shorting so much that I didn't need to close the trade at all.  I manage to profit even I close it at a loss around 10%.

You have to imagine this.   If your under then think your trying to buy USD and sell it higher with your bitcoin.   Another thing don't put to many trades everyday because sometimes like trying ride like March 6th.   You have wait for more easier pattern.

I wish GDAX can allow selling and buy in USD.

I run two types of trade.   One that keeps profits in USD or one keeps profits in BTC.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware my Filipino friends of Facebook bitcoin groups on: February 23, 2018, 08:54:01 PM
Im going to say good luck to scammers.  It will get trace.  Keep the BTC address and give it to the exchanges.  It can slow them down.  Its not perfect but this would catch the stupid scammers.

What would help greatly if they give a fake name.

Always pressure them to ID themselves with selfie picture,  written date and QR code (BTC address your sending btc to) next to them.   When join the groups.   It will always stick to them forever.

Dont join if they cant do this.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin Will be Zero on: February 15, 2018, 09:01:05 AM
In the morning I read the news where one of the leading multinational finance company stats that the “Bitcoin & Other Cryptocurrency will be zero”. So is it possible? If possible then which instructions should be followed getting out of debt?

If you can get people to sell $167,039,048,649 worth of bitcoins then it can be zero.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any chance for USA to ban bitcoin? on: February 10, 2018, 12:10:51 PM
It feels like this forum and reddit don't even see each other.   You probably didn't hear the major hearing on Capitol Hill.  lol   I was wonder if this post was old or not then I saw it's after a Monday.   Hey OP go to reddit instead of tunnel vision into one website.

I notice the 100 btc buy wall two days ago.   They kept Mona from crashing.   Reason why you see only a 2% drop.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They are Banning crypto every where - now facebook on: January 30, 2018, 10:54:53 PM
This is bad news for us. If Facebook forbids anything, it means they have to offer something like banning cryptographic ads, it means they are creating something like cryptocurrency as well. Some rumors say about blockchain technology, maybe he will propose blockchain for facebook.

You rather have people get scam and not come back.   Good thinking.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They are Banning crypto every where - now facebook on: January 30, 2018, 09:59:41 PM
I mean they have the right because those ads is misleading and leading to scam.   I rather have people learn crypto from other real people not just some ad spam on facebook.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Face up to reality: The game is over on: January 22, 2018, 04:02:34 PM
Whales is just going after the people who sell not the people who hold.   That's why the price is very hard to go back to $4000 because hodlers.   You have to convince the hodlers to sell.  That's like convincing the mountain to move.

I am sure mobby dick was around during Tulip Mania and like the OP says the wheels are starting
to fall of this one and do remember we are talking virtual "mountain" here that are easy to move.

Im talking about people who wouldnt let go at all.   Your just rewording what im saying.

Can you convice a person who has nothing to lose?  lol  Thats the mountain Im talking about.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Face up to reality: The game is over on: January 22, 2018, 02:45:32 PM
Why would the whales slowly ruin their cash cow?

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Face up to reality: The game is over on: January 22, 2018, 02:08:23 PM
It's all about numbers.   You can't think it's easier for whale.    Whales' strategy only works short term.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Face up to reality: The game is over on: January 22, 2018, 02:05:54 PM
Your missing the point.  lol  Even reply above me notice.   They will lose the control when more people buy into the dip.   Less bitcoins for them.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Face up to reality: The game is over on: January 22, 2018, 02:02:47 PM
The development since late December shows very clearly what is happening.

The whales - and anyone else with half a financial brain - are slowly selling all their bitcoin. As they sell, prices begin to drop sharply. They then hold back on the selling and newbies and "HODL'ers" are foolish enough to "buy the dip". This sends the price back up.

It then repeats with rates dropping again, until the newbies and "HODL'ers" buy the dip once more.

Except on every round the dip gets deeper and deeper.

The game is over, and anyone so stupendously stupid to keep buying from the whales who are unloading are basically just throwing their money away.

Face up to reality, the party is over.

You realize only time whales win is people selling to them.  If Hodlers start to outnumber the whales its going to hurt the whales.

Everytime the dip happens the hodlers control increase.
