1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX: Making Blockchain assets spendable on: January 13, 2018, 11:21:24 AM
Guys has anyone been able to deposit PAY into Bittrex? I can't generate a deposit address for some reason . . .
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When are Altcoins going to properly recover???? on: October 09, 2017, 08:18:03 AM
I really do not understand this behaviour of most people.  BTC goes up 3-5%, everybody sells everything they have for BTC (and those stupid telegram signal groups even advising noobs to do the same) in the hope of a maximum gain of 10% in BTC.  If people would not blindly follow this trend, much higher gains would be possible with many other coins. I myself will use this to hold and buy more Altcoins as I did in July. It has given me really good results since then.

Yeah I may revert to this strategy . . .

What Alts are you thinking will recover well? And when are you anticipating the pump, day after fork i.e. 26th October?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When are Altcoins going to properly recover???? on: October 09, 2017, 06:14:00 AM
It seems with the BCH fork, BTC's run up to 5k dollars, now more forks for Bitcoin most Altcoins have been in a downward trend, or certainly the ones I'm holding!?
then maybe you should have planned ahead of time and sold them when you saw the downward trend and either stayed away or bought back at the bottom. instead of buying on top and holding just to watch the price decline.

Quote
When will the prices recover back to June highs?
for most altcoin, NEVER.
for others not for many months until they get a huge pump.

the thing is that the previous highs that altcoins had were mostly pumps and bubbles and you can't expect the price to go back to the top of a bubble.

Quote
I'm hoping there will be a decent upside once BTC stabilises after this fork nonsense.
bitcoin price never stabilizes! it has always been volatile with short periods of stability. and when the fork nonsense ends the price starts to shoot up! unless you call fast rise "stable".

Quote
Although I'm debating whether to convert into BTC and re-buy after, but this could prove risky.
you should "convert back to BTC" when price is still high or as i said when you see a dump is happening not after it ended and you lose a lot of money.

Quote
What are your thoughts on the Altcoins you're HODLING? Are you selling or accumulating still?
i never hold any altcoin for longer than i should. i buy when they are not yet in a bubble and dump them as soon as they are. and if i see a dump i dump faster to prevent a bigger loss.

Yeah this is good advice . . . given what happened during the BCH fork I should of been better prepared. Luckily I've had some wins on other Altcoins and BTC has increased so still up overall.

I guess I'll wait till a pump and sell all my Alts (damage limitation), hopefully this happens before 23rd October as I'm away for a month!

Although I'm debating whether to convert into BTC and re-buy after, but this could prove risky. It's just with all this new competition from recently launched ICO's and new coins I'm skeptical some of the older coins will reach there previous highs.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fork time / bloody october? on: October 08, 2017, 06:10:18 AM
I think that HODLing of altcoins during (and before) upcoming fork will have same profitability (or even more) than bitcoin gold reward.

This is what I'm thinking . . . the upside on Alts once BTC stabilises could be massive! Accumulate more during this period while they're cheap . . .

My only reservation is there is soo much competition in the market these days due to the vast number of ICO's . . . which Alts to pick!?

Also when this pump will be I don't know.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Does anyone care about Bitcoin Gold or is it just Seqwit 2x?? on: October 07, 2017, 05:04:22 AM
Hey,

Are we seeing a sell off in the Altcoin market again due to BTC and everyone wanting their 'free money'?

Seems most Altcoins are almost at the bottom of their cycles, is this due to people selling back into BTC? I'm also aware there is a lot more competition out there with all the ICO's.

Could this continue all the way through October and November until BTC stabilises? Then there could be a huge upside, better leave Alts and wait?

What is your strategy going forward?

Thanks,

Rich
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: which portfolio tracker with pie chart???? on: September 26, 2017, 11:27:47 PM
Hey guys,

I'm sure this has been asked a dozen times but hoping to find a simple easy to use portfolio tracker with a pie chart indicator to show the percentage of each cryptocurrency you own?

Also need to link Kraken, Bittrex and Poloniex exchanges, and is it possible to link a MEW address to view all your ERC20 token balances?

Great at buying coins not soo good with the tech unfortunately!

Many thanks,

Rich

p.s. currently looking at this https://coinbalance.org/
Try this one https://cointracking.info. You can link your ERC20 token and service has many other features.

This is really wonderful. Didn't know about it. I hate entering transactions by myself and this definitely should save my time! As I can see it's not free. How much does it cost?

I signed up for 1 yr with Cointracking in the end (unlimited) and it cost me 0.07 BTC . . . so far I'm pretty impressed.

Managed to link Kraken, Bittrex, Poloniex and Bitfinex Exchanges and also my MEW address with all my ERC20 tokens and there is a lot of data to look at.

Only error I can see so far is Antshares hasn't updated to NEO but that might be Bittrex issue . . .

Also I haven't found where you can view in a summary what you have actually invested in each coin, your costs basis.

I intend to email them and query this.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kin ICO from Kik on: September 10, 2017, 12:27:54 PM
Yes only 1/10th of the tokens are released to the Public . . . the rest goes to Kik and the Kin Team. How they can call this decentralised I'm unsure . . . also the the ICO cap is 75 million x 10 so they're valuing Kin at 750m already, not really in favour of investors.

I'd rather invest my money in Status it's closest competitor.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anybody follow Humaniq? on: September 10, 2017, 12:20:03 PM
Yes I am in this . . . mainly from an ethical perspective as i think it could help millions of people in third world communities. Although they . have a really hard working and active dev team so anything is possible, all it would take would be adoption by one African country and supply/demand sky rockets. Great time to buy around ICO price!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Digibyte (DGB) sounds like a good investment atm on: August 18, 2017, 01:02:51 PM
I have watched several video clips by the CEO Jarad and he seems very genuine, the coin has been around for years so has a sturdy team/community behind it. I don't think it will eclipse NEO just yet but the rebranding has been well overdue since the logo is terribly old school. It's certainly undervalued atm at 53 on CMC, I see it at least alongside Stratis and Waves as it has superior tech I believe.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Best Wallet for Dividends or other Rewards? Long term hold . . . on: August 18, 2017, 05:54:17 AM
Hey,

So thinking about adding a few other coins to my long term hold along with Bitcoin and Ethereum and have considered Litecoin and Monero as the obvious choices.

Then I heard about Bitconnect and their dividend/interest reward system where by you lock an amount of Bitcoins into this volatility software and you receive regular interest payments. More details in this vid;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HRz68fzLbk

Are there any other coins you guys hold long term which offer similar rewards?

Thanks,

Rich

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Inevitable BTC pull back . . . profits into Alts or Fiat? on: August 14, 2017, 10:13:52 PM
So BTC continues to surge with no signs of stopping . . . although I can't see this being sustained for too much longer and think there'll eventually be a pull back / retrace.

Rather than sell my profits back into Fiat are there any Alts that are less pegged to BTC, and won't follow the potential dip?

I noticed prior to the BTC fork that Litecoin tended to increase as Bitcoin decreased so I'm thinking about selling some BTC into LTC if/when there is a pull back.

What are your thoughts on any other coins that may not follow the trend?

Thanks,

Rich
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Are ERC20 tokens classed as Altcoins?? on: August 06, 2017, 08:36:10 AM
How do you view any ERC20 tokens you might hold?

Since they don't have their own blockchain and are somewhat reliant on the success of the Ethereum ecosystem...

I'm trying to work out the best ratio for my holdings in terms of Bitcoin / Ethereum / Altcoins so where to group the ERC20 tokens I.e. BAT, OMG, CFI, TKN, CVC.

I'm thinking to follow the general market consensus so 50% BTC, 25% ETH and 25% Altcoins.

What does your portfolio look like?

Thanks,
Rich

I'm thinking to follow

Thanks,
Rich
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which altcoin are you holding for Aug 1 on: July 29, 2017, 10:18:41 AM
LTC/ETC/ZEC

DGB/SC/DCR/WAVES/NEO (ANS)

+ ETH and various ERC20 tokens

Way too many to keep up with really!
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible BTC fork and implications for holding Altcoins on: July 29, 2017, 10:11:26 AM
In the end I decided to keep my Alts . . . and actually I've picked up a few more coins in the sale yesterday!

Overall I am holding a 1/3 in Fiat, 1/3 in BTC and 1/3 in Alts so I hope I am prepared for all possible scenario's!?

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which altcoin are you holding for Aug 1 on: July 27, 2017, 12:27:19 PM
Surely it is better to sell Altcoins back into BTC to receive your free BCC
No don't sell alts, this might be very bad design.. No there will not be BCC, it is over with this story.
ZCL and ETH.
I'll be holding them after 1st August as well. Grin
I'm not sure in ZCL, without funding there is no development. Only maybe if they can find some ways, else they cannot compete with coins who have large amounts dedicated for progress. I would rather choose ETC it is very undervalued.

Where did you hear/read there will not be BCC?

From what I have read this morning the likelihood of BTC is imminent;

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible BTC fork and implications for holding Altcoins on: July 27, 2017, 10:49:07 AM

My question is what happens to Altcoins which you're holding and paired with BTC . . . if you want to sell later down the line what do you get in exchange? BTC Core or BTC Unlimited or both?  Huh

You'd get BTC - the alt/btc pairs will still be trading. As far as I can tell, neither Poloniex nor Bittrex plan to add BCC, let alone pairs with BCC.

Seems leaving Alts on Exhcnages is the same as leaving BTC since you're leaving it up to a third party to choose which pairing (or which coin) you receive when you come to sell . . .

Also your BTC is tied up in Alts so you won't receive free BCC.

Let's say BCC get's some support and acquires value then you will lose out, and if it surpasses BTC (highly unlikely) and Polo/Bittrex maintain their support of BTC you lose out more.

Just speculating what to do with my Altcoins on Exchanges.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell of Hold Altcoins prior to BTC fork 1st August???? on: July 27, 2017, 10:38:34 AM
Also leaving Alts on Exchanges is the same as leaving BTC there since when you come to sell back into BTC your leaving it up to a third party to choose between BTC and BCC . . . or whichever chain . . .

Am I right?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Sell or Hold Altcoins prior to BTC fork 1st August???? on: July 27, 2017, 10:10:53 AM
I have already transferred my BTC to an offline wallet (my Trezor) . . .

I'm now thinking to sell my Altcoins and doing the same to protect my BTC and collect free BCC.

What is everyone else doing with their Altcoins prior to 1st August?
