2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / If we all planned to invest in an altcoin? on: June 19, 2017, 02:39:57 AM
If say a load of us on this forum planned to invest 1k each into an altcoin. Say burst. Would we drive the price up at all or would it take millions to drive it up enough to make a profit?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / People who call altcoins a scam! on: June 18, 2017, 09:51:30 AM
When a new coin comes out or has been out a while some peolle claim this is a scam and just right bad things about it. Are these people just working for other coins or something. I mean surely if you were the development team or the brains behind the team in the first place you would want to coin to do as well as it possibly can to maximuse your returns from the coins you had from the start. Makes no real sense to scam when you go legit and possibly be the next etherum. That's the way I see it. I get some will be a scam but I also think there is no point in it cause if you create a nice coin you have potential to make millions to billions where as scamming you make a few million and feel shitty cause you just ripped a load of people off. Makes no sense to me personally
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How do I create my own wallet? on: June 16, 2017, 09:01:25 PM
After hearing about coinbase robbing people im wary about using an online service. Is there a way to create my own wallet?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Investing into very low priced currencies for a quick profit? on: June 16, 2017, 01:51:15 PM
Is it doable? Like digibyte for an example which was trading at 0.005 last month and is now trading at around 2 cents. If im not wrong that's a 5x return in less than a month. I'm looking to invest into something like that for a quick profit?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Cryptocurrenices not a good investment? on: June 16, 2017, 12:46:27 PM
Lots of people are saying that cryptocurrenices aren't a good investment because just hoarding the coins over time they will lose their value. I disagree. Not everyone is going to be hoarding for a start. If the currency has great features, potential and relatively cheap say 2 cents a coin just starting. In 3 years time it that coin became worth say 3 dollars and you decided to sell, you have made 150x what you invested. Am I missing the point here? Maybe there not good investments in the traditional sense More gambles. But still a gamble like that would of paid off so maybe it's not such a bad idea taking somewhat of a punt.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / NEM coin. XEM. on: June 16, 2017, 11:43:46 AM
Wondering where to buy this coin. I tried changenelly but there price is like 18 cents more per coin compared to the price of the market?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / anonymous cryptocurrenices on: June 16, 2017, 10:42:22 AM
I think in terms of investment these should Be good investments with research of course. The success of both monero and zcash shows how much anonymity means to people. I feel like I missed out on zcash but pivx and monero could be good investments? Im really looking for any crypto that promises anonymity. Surely there will be developers creating these and probably even some out of the 700 odd currencies out there that have this and are really cheap just now as they've had no exposure. Do you think investing in a coin based on the fact it promises anonymity is an ok risk?
9  Economy / Economics / Could the banking system be behind cryptocurrenices? on: June 16, 2017, 10:15:38 AM
The creator of bitcoin no one has ever seen and the most contact he has had with anyone is via a few emails. It's a little strange to say the least. Plus bitcoin isn't even anonymous. I only ask because I keep hearing of this one world goverment thing who want to introduce a one world currency. It kind of makes sense that a one world goverment might be being implemented as they have and are creating unions, like the EU for example if more unions are implemented like African and South American etc it would worth paying more attention. Anyway, how do we know that big bankers aren't behind this currency and the so called creator of bitcoin isn't just a made up name? Who is behind bitcoin it's a conspiracy.

DUN DUN DUN. Illuminati confirmed!

All jokes aside this is a very serious question....... VERY SERIOUS!
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is the best way to store my cryptocurrenices on: June 16, 2017, 01:21:37 AM
I am about to buy 1 BTC. I need to know the best way to store it and also some insight into doing it. Thanks. Also where can I buy digibyte it's at a real low right now might invest a cheeky 50 and just hold it forever
11  Other / Off-topic / Blockchain start ups! on: June 14, 2017, 10:19:19 PM
This thread Is intended to discuss investment in block chain start ups. I am thinking we could band together as a community and discuss the possibilities of investing in these and help each other to make money. We can all share what we know about blockchain, the best starts ups out there, what to invest in and when. If you think its a good idea pitch in and if you think it's a bad idea say why. I think having this platform we have a great opportunity to help one another and also learn from each other.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Should I invest in etherum on: June 14, 2017, 10:00:44 PM
I play online poker and have a nice roll on PokerStars of 11k. I am thinking of cashing out and investing 10k of it into etherum. Loads are suggesting it could surpass bitcoin in the coming years which means around 5x return on investment. It took me 4 years to make 1/5 of that on PokerStars. I doubt I will ever make that kind of money playing poker unless I get super lucky. Way i see it I have only ever invested about 2k into poker so the other 8k I can treat as a profit I wouldn't really miss as I can just drop down stakes on poker and grind at the micro stakes again and be able to play for atleast the next year without busting my roll. Plus I'm a risk taker, I don't mind gambling.  So now you know im willing to take the risk would you say it's worth taking that risk? Or should be buy 3 BTC?
13  Economy / Speculation / Is this theoretically possible? on: June 14, 2017, 04:57:59 PM
Say a group of rich investors got together and intending to buy huge amounts of bitcoin with the intention to one day crash the market. Say they told other investors of their plan deception and they bought into the idea. They done this for a while making the price of bitcoin soar. If they all collectively cashed in on their bitcoins and told people/ warned people and fooled them into doing the same via news articles, websites and other forms of mainstream exposure. Could they theoretically cause enough of a collapse to then buy the bitcoins back at a low price and wait for it to boom again makinf a huge profit or am I totally missing the point?
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Idea to invest into cryptocurrenices. Is this a good idea? on: June 14, 2017, 04:23:44 PM
I missed the train for both bitcoin and etherum. I accept that but i intend to be one of the first on the next one and here's my idea going forward. I intend to invest small 1000 pounds into both etherium and bitcoin 500 pounds into each wallet. I intend to just hoard this and keep it in my wallet while I study the other competitors for a few months. hoping that in the time I'm studyint I will be making more bitcoin and etherum so I have more to invest in the other cryptocurrenices. I plan to find a top 5 currencies I think are worth an investment and invest 1 pounds worth of bitcoin and etherum into them every 2 days. I also plan to have a currency which I consider to be a gamble or an outside chance of becoming big which I will invest 50 cents into once every 2 days. I think I have already decided this to be Navcoin. Whilst I am doing this I will also make a savings  jar labelled the bitcoin or etherum crash fund. I will save 80 pounds per week into this jar in the hopes of a catastrophic crash on either of them which I can then use to buy coins while the price is low and wait patiently for the price to rise again. Is This an ok idea? Can I tweak it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
