For the R9 series, 15.12 remains the "go-to" driver version - nothing later is more efficient, a LOT of the later drivers give worse results.
I honestly don't think AMD bothers testing the "Relive" series on the R9 cards, since they want you to move to the RX series and Vega instead of sticking with 3+ year old card designs.

I run the latest 17.6.2 drivers and don't really see much difference going back to 15.12. I'm running 390X's.

when i run the 15.12 on Groestl i get about 41 MHS if i run anything else its 21 and i have a 390

Dear Blocks Factory,

Please consider adding VRM (Verium) to your mining selection. Right now mining is highly centralized and the mining community needs options.

https://github.com/VeriumReserve/verium

Verium Specs
Proof of Work-Time
Difficulty dependent blocktime (Max ~6.2 minutes, minimum 15 seconds)
Rewards: Blocktime dependent rewards (~Reward halving every minute decrease in blocktime till 10x VRC supply parity, then variable ~3% disinflation)
Algo: scrypt² (N of 1024² or 128MB per thread)
Block 1: 564,705 VRM minted for ICO participants who purchased VRM using VRC
Minimum Transaction Fee: 0.2 VRM (High commodity transaction fee paid to miners)
RPC Port: 33987, P2Port: 36988
Confirmations: 30, Maturity: 100

Due to its unique Algo, many pool's are unable to figure out how to set it up. This is a CPU mined coin and is currently gaining a lot of attention, however current pool reliability is a bit sporadic. The coin is currently traded on Bittrex.

https://vericoinandveriuminvite.herokuapp.com/ is the slack if you have questions.

Thank you for your consideration.

thanks looking into this it seems its mined via a vault program they made so its only cpu mined and currently it looks like they want to try and keep it away from gpu mining
the set up is a pain in the butt cause they seemed to messed things in the program

If you go groestl use sgminer, get the updated kernel. I dropped memory clocks on the cards as low as they would go, upped GPU clocks as high as they would go on stock voltage. I've not messed with skein.

so i got it running at around 21 Mh/s so i believe thats not too bad temp at 56c and I at 19
so is this good or think it should be running better?

I suspect it's not too bad, given how old the GPU in the R9 39x cards are (same GPU as the R9 29x cards after all).

For perspective, I think I was pulling 45-50 Mh/s ballpark on my "testing" GTX 1070 rig per card though.

I strongly suspect that the R9 290(x)/390(x) are best off mining ETH or it's spinoffs at this time.

so i changed my driver to the 15.12 verson was running the 17 and it doubled in speeded so thats a big help there

ya i was looking at mining eth but it doesnt seem as stright forward as digi mining for setting up and mining
i tried a few times and failed haha

Scrypt is the realm of ASIC and has been for years - you need to reconfigure your miner software to use skein or groetsl (if either of those work on AMD hardware, you might need a different miner version).

There is NO BLOODY WAY you were getting an actual 3+ Gh/s scrypt mining rate from any GPU, I'd estimate a R9 390X actual Scypt hashrate would be closer to 1 Mh/s (perhaps a little over).

haha ya i was like this doesnt seem correct and so i will go to skein or groetsl and see if that works and hopefully that does and see if it reads on the website. cause once that works then i know i am good

ok thank you i seem to have got it working but not sure how to update the kernel (newbie here)
though i have read on other forms my set up it better suited with mining skein but i havent found a miner yet that works and the one on the web site doesnt exist any more
and what % of rejected do most people shoot for?
also side note on why it was showing up at 3+ gh was just due to the miner thats all haha

my current hardware set up is win10, 16gb, with i7(forget whatverson) and R9 390 AMD vid card
it hashs at around 2-3 Gh/s what it tells me(other miners run at 1.25gh to 780 Mhs). runs at between 66 to 71c temp wise which is fine. so ya not sure
also i put it on dynamic settings which put it at around 9 but i was running at 12 no problems
also i ran it for about 5 hours last night before my power went out(transformer went down)
What algo and miner are you using? I'm running 390X's using sgminer on Groestl algo getting around 50 MH/s per card.

running Scrypt on Cgminer so ya still new to all this so you will have to bear with me
but ya it was going solid at 3.026 Gh/s connected and getting blocks from the pool
maybe its all messed up and thats why its not showing anything and a high hash rate hahah

Hello i am getting into digi mining as a hobby and i think it working for the most part
i am using cgminer and its connected to the sever by the looks of it and my user name and pass is correct and it seems to be working but it isn't showing up on the website
just wondering what i could be missing any help in this would be great!
