2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Biostar TB250 BTC compatibility with M.2 to PCIE adapter on: September 15, 2017, 11:58:41 PM
Can confirm, 7 cards are detected, and installed in windows but while mining CPU usage will rise to 100% and miner crashes coz of hardware/interrupt errors.

M.2 slot works with Nvidia GPU's, does not work with AMD GPUs.

Update : Working with AMD cards as well.

@deadsix Hi, can you specify which biostar board you got AMD's working on.  The TB250, TB250+, or the TB250-PRO?  I only have the tb250

Thanks
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wolf's XMR GPU Miner on: August 27, 2017, 04:16:39 AM
hey guys, did you realize when using claymore's xmr miner with nofee option enabled you get the same hashrate as if you turned it on, I've been mining like that forever and no issues, it's like devfee is optional, and not necessary for the best speed since you already have it.

I don't know about other chips but I can confirm it for hawaii, fiji and polaris chips.

Can anyone else confirm this?

I remember in the readme or some post of Claymore stating that if you turn off the devfee, the hash rate will still report the same but the actual share acceptance rate of the miner will go down.  (i think either 5 or 10%, can't remember)

What you see during miner running is what the program 'thinks' it's problem solving is as opposed to what the pool judges it to be.
4  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory issue - never online - stuck on Preparin Databases on: August 25, 2017, 12:00:01 AM
My issue is related to this and yes I am a noob to armory.  Do I have to download BTC node separately.  The tutorials say there is a secure downloader built in but is not present in my version (latest)
5  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory 0.96.1 is out! on: August 24, 2017, 11:50:44 PM
I downloaded this and I regret it now  Sad  Didn't realize that it had to run a full BTC node in order to be online.  So does the wallet actually have a BTC core running in the background.  I DID NOT download separately, but the way the dashboard represents itself makes it seem like it is syncing up.  It says offline but there is a notice saying "preparing database".  In the settings the directory for BTC is blank but again the program is vague in saying that Armory is 'managing' it if blank.  There is no indication that Armory cannot find the database.

Can someone tell me whether or not i have to separately download BTC?  thx

poorly designed UX imho
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: August 15, 2017, 12:53:00 AM
Does anyone think it's possible that AMD wrote into the latest driver a throttling factor for mining just for the launch in order to give gamers some 'breathing room' on launch.  This might explain the divergent rumours earlier on (older drivers) with current findings today.  Especially with the blower style cooler, be curious to see what AIB partners do for cooling and if hash get's better with 'update'

 Huh Huh Huh

Hey looks like great app, can you add www.ubiqminers.org ? Smiley

Thanks,

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethash DAG epoch RX470/480/570/580 FIX !! on: August 06, 2017, 05:16:45 PM
Can anyone here using this solution confirm one thing that I've noticed for awhile now?  I usually gauge my rig's performance by the # of shares submitted / hour.  It's usually a rough estimation after a couple of hours of mining and I notice often the highest hash rate doesn't necessarily correlate with share submit rate.  The pools I use usually are prop or PPLNS and really sharefinding is how we all find blocks.  The reading from claymore/ethminer is a just a spit out of the current calculation our gpu thinks it can do and reports to the pool that later on will make a judgement on.  I've done all the fine tuning on my cards to the point where I trim back the mem overclock just enough to not incur mem errors on HWIN64 and max out my share rate.  So my hash rate maybe a bit under avg yet my % for the block round is higher than expected.  Essentially i try to punch above my weight class.

So back to my orig question:  Have you guys noticed a commensurate increase in share sub/accept rate along with the uptick in 'reported' hash rate?  Because if it's all the same I'd rather not push my cards further if it doesn't actually give me any tangible benefit other than bragging rights.

Thanks

What's your share difficulty?

Added two new stratum servers on https://etcmine.pro!

Europe - eu.etcmine.pro:9009
USA - us.etcmine.pro:9009
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Avarage effective Hash rate on pool ( ETHERUM ) on: July 13, 2017, 04:10:27 AM
reported hash means how fast the student tells the teacher he/she can finish the test
shares submitted per hour is how well they did on the test
effective/current hash is a recalculation of how fast they did test with the quality of their score (shares)
Average hash is an average of their effective hash over a time period (final mark in the class)
