1  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Copay wallet secure for storing large amounts of BTC as Exodus advises? on: June 26, 2017, 06:10:28 PM
Many many thanks for the answer! By the way... I see there are many wallets for bitcoin or eth, but... what about all the altcoins, doesn't seem to easy. I 'm searching for desktop wallets as I don't like them to be in the exchange... waiting for my hardwar wallet to arrive by September. Any recommendations?

I checked Electrum but then I checked this site https://99bitcoins.com/best-bitcoin-wallet-2015-bitcoin-wallets-comparison-review/ where it stated that the security was "moderate" and not "good" as Copay. Also Exodus recommended to use Copay for larger amounts so I thought... why not give it a try.

I also checked Electrum even so and I thought the interface is horrible...

Is Copay not secure enough?
3  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Copay wallet secure for storing large amounts of BTC as Exodus advises? on: June 26, 2017, 04:51:16 PM
I like Exodus but once I read the article from the FAQ of Exodus: Can Exodus safely store large amounts? http://support.exodus.io/knowledge_base/topics/can-exodus-safely-store-large-amounts I decided to turn to Copay as they advise. I installed it on my computer and checked that the app once opened has no need to insert any password. So any person who opens this app on my computer will be able to see my BTC amount of money, and maybe also send money without any password.

So... I checked the settings and no security, password or something like that. Could somebody help me out? Seems Copay has no support and don't know if this is too safe.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Desktop Wallets for altcoins crypto's other than the mainstream on: June 24, 2017, 11:31:24 PM
I already found desktop wallets which can work with BTC, ETH and others altcoins such as Golem or Litecoin BUT

I would like to know if there is an app for desktop which can support other currencies such as:

Zcash
Monero
Xem
Nem
Stratis
Siacoin
Peercoin
Lisk
IOTA
Waves
Ripple
BAT
and others...

Of course if it could be one app that accepts them this would make everything easier.

If these are not possible or too many separate wallets need to be created I suppose Exchange sites are safe enough, right?

5  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockfolio - How to substract Bitcoin correctly when you buy altcoin with BTC? on: June 20, 2017, 01:40:05 PM
Thanks for the answer, what if you have bought BTC with different prices? I bought on different dates, you will never have a precise number. Or should you check the date of purchase of the altcoin and subtract the BTC amount from the last time you bought it?

Is there no button to say, bought X amount of BTC to buy Factom for example.
6  Economy / Service Discussion / Blockfolio - How to substract Bitcoin correctly when you buy altcoin with BTC? on: June 20, 2017, 01:26:29 PM
Hi, I use http://blockfolio.com/ to track my investments. I have Bitcoins as an investment and already inserted this info in the app. If I buy an altcoin it's mainly with Bitcoin, so how do you mark this on the app to still have the correct amount?

For example: you have 1BTC and you buy FCT for the amount of 0,2BTC. Therefore you have 0,8BTC and some FCT. So you insert the FCT equivalent in the app, ok, but I can't find the way to substract this amount of Bitcoin. How do you do this correctly?

I see the sell option but your not selling Bitcoin to EUR or USD. You are exchanging that amount for another value. How can you represent this in the app? Any help  Huh
