I will never do the high frequency trading, it's the same thing to trade the stock. I will just do some research on one coin, buy it and hold it for a very long time. When I sell a coin, unless I got a good reason to sell it, such as I find a better one and I don't think this coin price will go up.

I would not recommend online wallet, since you need to upload your private key or key store file online, which may risk your account if the website is hacked. Local wallet is much safer.

I don't think solo mining will work for btc. If some new coins come out, and there is no too many pools yet, you can consider the solo mining. You are competing your calculation power with the whole world.
