1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I just discovered Bitmit is closing down on: November 07, 2013, 07:02:51 PM
This is really disappointing! :/ I really hope that someone buys it. I love how easy it is to buy and sell on the site. I recently sold an item on Ebay for the first time in five years and was horrified by the fees, the Paypal holds and scammy buyers. I won't be selling on Ebay again. Bitmit with its reasonable fees, pricing flexibility, awesome buyers and trust will certainly be missed. I might have to look at setting up shop at coingig or Cryptothrift though if someone doesn't purchase the site.
2  Economy / Goods / Bitcoin/Feathercoin/Litecoin Coffee/Caffeine shop concept on: September 03, 2013, 09:55:48 PM
Hey all

I'm contemplating the idea of starting up a caffeine based business that would work with bitcoin, litecoin and feathercoin.
It would start out with basic products; coffee, tea, caffeinated jerky and grow from there.
The point of this post is to get feedback and see if anyone would be interested in buying these products and others like them with crypto-currencies.
These products would by no means be the only items sold, just to start out and generate some business.

I know there are one or two stores out there like this already, but they are unreliable at best. I myself was never shipped an order of coffee from one such store, and I would like to provide a reliable market for not only Bitcoin users but also litecoin and feathercoin users.

Tell me your thoughts?

I wish I could run my two 7990's could run next to each other. I have a large atx board with 4 pcie slots, but because the cards are so close due to taking three slots each they are still not far enough apart to allow heat dissipation. I ordered BFL Asics in January and February. Hopefully they show up soon! Heat is quickly escalating in the pacific northwest for summer. I can't keep my house cool enough for long running two 875 watt video cards in two computers.

It took me 7 days from account creation to confirmation back in February. I sent a picture of a US passport photo. I don't know if that matters versus a state issued driver's license.

ohhh, MYyyy GOODDD ITS A LAPTOP, NO!, STAHP!
Seriously you should Never mine bitcoins on a Laptop!, Ohmygosh you are GOING to burn out the thing within a year or less, Its not worth a broken computer!
NEVER MINE COINS ON A LAPTOP, THERE ARE SO MANY REASONS WHY THAT I DONT HAVE TIME TO LIST THEM ALL

I run cgminer on my work laptop when it is connected to work power. It has a pretty nice Nvidia Quadro chipset and generates a measly 12MH but it is an HP workstation laptop. If it burns out (oops), HP is really good about replacing parts overnight, and I still have 4 other HP workstation computers I can use each also mining with cool running Firepro workstation cards along with my 7990's at home.

Hi there everyone,

I go by the handle Nomdeplume in several forums and sites around the Interwebs. I live near Boise, Idaho in potato country. I have been mining Bitcoin since January. I started with a Firepro V3800 generating 60 MH/s and now am sporting a cluster of cards ranging from Radeon 4000 series cards to Radeon 7990's. I am generating in the range of 2800 MH/s and am hoping to get my BFL miners soon. I pre-ordered in late January. I have read many posts on the forums here, but am new to wanting to work on new Bitcoin related projects and to get my name out in the community.

Hi there,

I am a relative newcomer. I started mining at the beginning of the new year (2013). I have purchased a number of different items with my Bitcoins including a subscription to Bitcoin magazine along with a few items on BitMit, Bitcoinstore and JJGames. I am also a seller on Bitmit. I am looking to set up a free EC site for Bitcoin to help people looking for work denominated in Bitcoin to advertise their skills. I am only intending to profit from the ad space in the site, not from the service itself keeping the site completely free for contract employees and employers. I am a believer in Bitcoin, and what it stands for. I have already secured a domain for this task. I am in need of a web site programmer to help me with this task. I don't have a tremendous amount of Bitcoin to initially fund the project and am looking for someone who wants to help the community. If I can pay for hosting costs I will be happy with the return, if not I will pay the hosting costs out of pocket to return the little bit that Bitcoin mining has given to me. I have secured a domain name that I will share after I have a contract in place with a web developer.
